  • This study proposes a fuzzy inventory model for managing large-scale production, incorporating cost considerations. The model accounts for two types of expenditure scenarios-parametric and exponential. Uncertainty surrounds holding costs, setup costs, and demand rates. The approach considers a supply chain system with a complex manufacturing process, factoring in transportation costs based on the quantity of goods and distance between the supplier and retailer. The initial crisp model is then transformed into a fuzzy simulation, incorporating specific fuzzy variables affecting inventory costs. The proposed method significantly reduces overall inventory costs for the entire supply chain. Retailer demand is linked to inventory levels, and vendor/distributor storage deteriorates over time. The fuzzy condition assumes hexagonal variables for all associated factors. The study employs the signed distance method for defuzzification to determine the optimal order quantity with hexagonal fuzzy numbers. Mathematical examples are provided to illustrate the practicality of the proposed approach.

  • The paper presents an effective method for finding the propagation structure of the real origin of a system malfunction. It uses a combined system model consisting of Structural Model (SM) in the form of Fuzzy Directed Graph and Behavior Model (BM) as a set of Fuzzy Relational Equations $A\;{\circ}\;R\;=\;B$. Here a specially proposed fuzzy inference technique is checked and investigated. Finally a test example for fault diagnosis of an industrial system is given and analyzed.

  • This paper addresses the analysis and design of fuzzy control systems for a class of complex nonlinear systems. Firstly, the nonlinear system is represented by Takagi-Sugeno(TS) fuzzy model and the global controller is constructed by compensating each linear model in the rule of TS fuzzy model. The design of conventional TS fuzzy-model-based controller is composed of two processes. One is to determine the static state feedback gain of each local model and the other is to validate the stability of the designed fuzzy controller. In this paper, we propose an alternative methods for the design of TS fuzzy-model-based controller. The design scheme is based on the extension of conventional optimal control theory to the design of TS fuzzy-model-based controller. By using the proposed method, the design and stability analysis of the TS fuzzy model-based controller is reduced to the problem of finding the solution of a set of algebraic Riccati equations. And we use the recently developed interior point method to find the solution of AREs, where AREs are recast as the LMI formulation. A numerical simulation example is given to show the effectiveness and feasibiltiy of the proposed fuzzy controller design method.

  • This work presents an approach to model concrete shrinkage. The goal is to permit the concrete industry's experts to develop independent prediction models based on a reduced number of experimental data. The proposed approach combines fuzzy logic and genetic algorithm to optimize the fuzzy decision-making, thereby reducing data collection time. Such an approach was implemented for an experimental data set related to self-compacting concrete. The obtained prediction model was compared against published experimental data (not used in model development) and well-known shrinkage prediction models. The predicted results were verified by statistical analysis, which confirmed the reliability of the developed model. Although the range of application of the developed model is limited, the genetic-fuzzy approach introduced in this work proved suitable for adjusting the prediction model once additional training data are provided. This can be highly inviting for the concrete industry's experts, since they would be able to fine-tune their models depending on the boundary conditions of their production processes.

  • This paper deals with the control of a nonlinear experimental helicopter system by using the fuzzy-model-based control approach. The fuzzy model of the experimental helicopter system is constructed from the original nonlinear dynamic equations in the form of an affine Takagi-Sugeno (TS) fuzzy system. In order to design a feasible switching-type fuzzy-model-based controller, the TS fuzzy system is converted to a set of uncertain linear systems, which is used as a basic framework to synthesize the fuzzy-model-based controller.

  • Several methods were suggested for constructing a fuzzy relationship between fuzzy independent and dependent variables. This paper reviews the use of the method by minimizing the square of the difference between an observed and a predicted fuzzy number in an ${\alpha}$-level linear regression model. We introduce a new distance between fuzzy numbers on the basis of a mode, a core point and a radius of an ${\alpha}$-level set of a fuzzy number an construct the fuzzy regression model using the proposed fuzzy distance. We also investigate sufficient condition for an equivalence in the ${\alpha}$-level regression model.

  • Soft sensor is an effective method to deal with the estimation of variables, which are difficult to measure because of the reasons of economy or technology. Fuzzy logic system can be used to develop the soft sensor model by infinite rules, but the fuzzy dividing of variable sets is a key problem to achieve an accurate fuzzy logic model, In this paper, we proposed a new method to develop soft sensor model based on fuzzy neural network. First, using a novel method to divide the variable fuzzy sets by the process input and output data. Second, developing the fuzzy logic model based on that fuzzy set dividing. After that, expressing the fuzzy system with a fuzzy neural network and getting the initial soft sensor model based FNN. Last, adjusting the relative parameters of soft sensor model by the BP learning method. The effectiveness of the method proposed and the preferable generalization ability of soft sensor model built are demonstrated by the simulation.

Firstly, the nonlinear system is represented by well-known Takagai-Sugeno (TS) fuzzy model and the global controller is constructed by compensating each linear model in the rule of TS fuzzy model. The design of conventional TS fuzzy-model-based controller usually is composed of two processes. In this paper, we propose an alternative of the design of TS fuzzy-model-based controller. The design scheme is based on the extension of conventional optimal control theory to the design of TS fuzzy-model-based controller. • This study presents an approach for approximation an unknown function from a numerical data set based on the synthesis of a neuro-fuzzy model. An adaptive input data space parting method, which is used for building hyperbox-shaped clusters in the input data space, is proposed. Each data cluster is implemented here as a fuzzy set using a membership function MF with a hyperbox core that is constructed from a min vertex and a max vertex. The focus of interest in proposed approach is to increase degree of fit between characteristics of the given numerical data set and the established fuzzy sets used to approximate it. A new cutting procedure, named NCP, is proposed. The NCP is an adaptive cutting procedure using a pure function $\Psi$ and a penalty function $\tau$ for direction the input data space parting process. New algorithms named CSHL, HLM1 and HLM2 are presented. The first new algorithm, CSHL, built based on the cutting procedure NCP, is used to create hyperbox-shaped data clusters. The second and the third algorithm are used to establish adaptive neuro- fuzzy inference systems. A series of numerical experiments are performed to assess the efficiency of the proposed approach.
