본 연구는 인구감소지역으로 지정된 의성군의 도서관의 중장기발전계획 수립을 위한 기초연구로서 수행되었다. 먼저 의성군 지역의 사회·문화·환경적 특성을 분석하고 의성군과 규모가 유사한 인구감소지역의 도서관 인프라와 비교하였다. 또한 의성군 주민의 도서관 이용현황, 서비스에 대한 만족도와 개선방안, 비이용 요인, 신규 건립 도서관에 대한 요구 등을 파악하기 위하여 인식도 조사를 실시하였다. 이를 바탕으로 의성군 도서관 정책의 방향성을 제시하였다. 구체적으로 의성군 도서관 발전을 위한 4대 전략방향(미래 지향, 커뮤니티 기능 활성화, 정보취약계층 특화, 지역사회 정신문화 고양)과 5대 서비스 핵심과제(의성군 도서관의 브랜드 구축, 혁신형 공간 및 서비스 구현, 주민 정주환경 강화를 위한 도서관 기능 확대, 지역 특성을 반영한 노인서비스 개발 및 제공, 책 읽는 의성을 위한 독서문화 활성화)를 도출하였다. 제시한 핵심과제는 인구감소지역이라는 한계를 극복하고 의성군의 잠재력 개발하기 위한 미래지향적 도서관서비스에 초점을 두었다.

With the rapid development of computer technology and ongoing destruction of traditional buildings, more and more attention is paid to digital methods for the design and preservation of traditional buildings. Unlike 2D methods, Building Information Modeling (BIM) provides an object-oriented and parametric digital representation way for traditional building components. However, one of the main limitations currently is that parametric information cannot be exchanged between BIM software packages. Therefore each kind of software must have their own parametric library which causes extensive works. In this research, the authors developed an open BIM-based library using an XML parametric approach to solve the above problems, represented traditional components according to an XML schema, and parametrically implemented these XML files in a browser which can be accessed by users for their easy component edit and selection. And then based on the XML file of one component, implemented an Add-on in ArchiCAD for users to parametrically edit and directly utilize. Thus based on these XML files, a browser for users' view and selection purpose and an add-on for users' application purpose were developed. Future research will focus on implementing these XML files in other BIM tools like Revit and Digital Project. If the whole library was to be completed based on this XML approach, an open BIM-based library would be established that all kinds of BIM software users could apply this parametric library for easy modeling of traditional houses.

국내에 주제별화를 적용하고 있는 대학도서관이 점차 증가하고 있지만 적용에 따른 면밀한 검토와 분석작업 그리고, 적용이후의 지속적인 조사와 평가가 수행되지 않음으로 인해 많은 문제점들이 나타나고 있다. 따라서, 주제별화 경험이 우리보다 앞선 미국의 사례 즉, 주제별화 적용 시기의 상황과 발전과정 및 쇠퇴의 과정을 살펴봄으로써 국내 대학도서관과의 차이점을 분석하고 변화하는 도서관 주변상황에 따른 적절한 적용방안과 앞으로의 진행 방향을 예측해 보았다.

정보학의 연구동향을 살피기 위하여 2000년부터 2003년까지 최근 3년간 주요 학술지 논문주제를 분석하였다. 분석 기준은 최근 정보학 연구의 지식구조의 변화 탐지를 주목적으로 새로이 개발된 IS Taxonomy(Hawkins, 2003)를 적용했으며 이로써 국내외에서 이루어진 2000년 초반기의 정보학 연구의 공통된 특성이나 차이를 살펴보았다. 학술지를 통하여 나타난 중심주제와 그로써 표출되는 연구 동향이나 추세의 특징이 국내외 환경을 구분하는지 여부를 검증했으며 기존 연구방향과 비교하고 그로 나타나는 도서관 관련 학술연구에 대한 사회수요의 변화를 분석했다.

학술정보 커뮤니케이션 환경이 급변함에 따라 전자저널 컨소시엄이 그 본연의 기능을 다하기 위해서는 참여기관이 만족할 수 있는 서비스를 제공하기 위한 즉각적 전략과 함께, 전 세계적으로 벌어지고 있는 근본적 변화주도 움직임에 대처하기 위한 전략이 필요하게 되었다. 이 연구는 우리나라의 대표적인 전자저널 컨소시엄인 KESLI를 중심으로 한 미래형 컨소시엄 운용모형을 제안한다. 여기서 제안하는 미래형 컨소시엄 운영모형은 단기적 대응기능 강화 전략, 장기적 변화주도 전략, 그리고 추진체계를 세 축으로 하고 있다.

경쟁력 향상과 생산성 제고의 도구로서 디지털 환경에 적합한 새로운 전문도서관 평가지표 개발의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 특히, 전문도서관의 경우 다른 도서관과 달리 다양한 주제적 배경을 가지고 있고, 1인 운영 소규모 도서관도 많다는 특성을 충분히 고려하여 평가지표가 개발되어야 한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 2007년에 작성된 전문도서관 평가지표를 기초로 하여 이해하기 쉽고 적용 가능성이 높은 새로운 평가지표를 개발하였다. 개발된 전문도서관 평가지표는 선행연구와 타관종의 평가지표를 충분히 검토하였으며, 다양한 주제 분야 전문도서관 소속 전문가들의 의견이 반영될 수 있도록 수차례의 회의를 거쳐 완성되었다. 새 평가지표의 개발 후 타당성과 실효성을 검증하기 위해 평가지표 타당성 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 아울러 일부 전문도서관을 대상으로 모의평가도 실시하였다. 개발된 평가지표로 전문도서관 운영평가를 정착시킨다면, 새 평가지표는 전문도서관의 현재 수준을 파악하고 개선하여 미래 지향적 전문도서관 육성에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

This study is to survey the present book numbers used in Korean libraries. to analyze their problems. and to suggest improvement in the book numbers. As the results of the survey several suggestions are derived as follows. 1. The education to the librarians about the kinds and the application methods of the book numbers used in Korean libraries should be sufficiently offered. 2. The present book numbers used should be expanded in detail for avoiding the duplication of the call numbers. Also when book numbers are assigned. shelf list cards should be examined one by one not to give the same number. If the book numbers are overlapped in the state not to expand further. libraries should establish a detailed expansion rules according to their respective situation and maintain it consistently. However, it is impossible for libraries operating open stack systems to arrange books on the shelves in call number sequence, therefore libraries can solve the problems as they accept duplication cases. 3. Since the object word of main mark IS a heading In main entry, we must apply cataloging rules to it closely. 4. For expanding book numbers widely it is desirable that the subsidiary mark of the book numbers which is the most prevalent in general and will be the most preferable In the future through the survey should be added and be provided. 5. The book numbers used being changed, we are to assign new book number leaving former materials as they are at the point of adopting a new book number. So aged materials are stored in a repository or on a compact shelf in the stack, will be discarded or weeded according to subjects after a certain period of time. 6. With library automation bringing together all the books of an author in a particular subject or in a particular form and avoiding completely duplication in open stack systems are meaningless. Rather than chronological book numbers, distinguishing clearly new materials from aged materials and controlling the stack spaces mechanically and effectively, can be regarded as the most modern and future-oriented of all the book numbers.

모든 공공도서관은 장서 기반의 지식문화서비스 기관이다. 이를 위해 가장 먼저 수립해야 할 필수적 정책인 동시에 전략적 메뉴가 장서개발정책이다. 특히 시도 단위의 종합지식정보센터 및 공동보존서고로서의 법정 업무를 수행해야 할 지역대표도서관은 최적 장서개발정책을 수립·적용해야 한다. 본 연구는 주요 선진국의 대도시 공공도서관 장서개발정책과 국내의 권역별 지역대표도서관 장서개발지침(안) 및 규정을 분석하였다. 그 결과, 대다수 선진국의 정책은 구성체계 및 내용적 측면에서 충실한 반면에 국내는 공식화된 정책문서가 없는 실무지침에 불과하였다. 따라서 모든 지역대표도서관은 장서개발의 중요성 인식, 미래지향적 사고, 전략적 판단 등을 전제로 장서개발정책을 수립·문서화해야 하며, 이를 위한 기본원칙과 구성체계를 제언하였다.

Among the community-based cultural facilities, public libraries are places for social and educational purpose that improve the education of the resident, the expansion of the basic cultural education, communication between the members of society, and the accumulations and preservations of the culture. Public libraries should be a local cultural facility that expresses the value of a community. This study aims to analyze the design expression of publicness in a public branch library as a community-based cultural space through the study of branch library in the U.S. This study focused on the most future-oriented and innovative Ten New Landmark Libraries in the United States selected by Library Journal magazine in 2011. Among the selected libraries, three branch libraries which belongs Arizona Maricopa County were included in the study. The results of this study are as follows. First, the sites of the branch libraries vary geographically, but the libraries increase accessibility are caused by unique appearances and design concept of intellectual interest. Second, the floor plan shows the separation of meeting rooms and faculty space from the public space and has visual and spatial open space by high ceiling of the reading room. Third, multi-functional public space for residents are meeting rooms, the external patios for reading, galleries, cafes, libraries-shops which provides a variety of cultural programs, activities, and the opportunity to socialize neighbors. Fourth, branch Libraries have unique designs that harmonizes with nearby places to reflect locality, giving the locals a sense of pride in their community. Fifth, concrete brick and metal panel were used as finishing material for the practicality of maintenance. In particular, transparent glass envelope allows the locals to stay for long time due to openness and brightness of space.

최근 해외에서는 도서관·기록관·박물관의 기능이 합쳐진 미래형 기관 유형으로 LAM, GLAM, 미디어테크 등으로 지칭되는 통합형 기관들이 설립되고 있으며, 국내의 경우 도서관·기록관·박물관의 영문명을 합성한 라키비움이라는 용어가 널리 사용되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 사례연구를 통해 국내외에서 운영 중인 라키비움을 살펴보고, 국내 라키비움에 재직 중인 사서, 기록연구사, 학예연구사 그리고 라키비움을 이용하고 SNS에 방문 후기를 남긴 이용자와의 인터뷰를 통해 라키비움의 인식 정도와 이용 목적, 문제점을 파악하였다. 이를 통해 라키비움 운영 활성화 방안을 기관 내·외부 인식개선, 공간 개선과 서비스를 위한 예산 및 인력 확보, 라키비움 전담조직 구성을 통한 통합적 운영 강화의 세 가지 측면에서 제안하였다.
