Objective : I will study about similarities and differences of furunculus section between Sonjininchungeumbang and Bigeupchungeumyobang. Method : I compare furunculus section of Sonjininchungeumbang with Bigeupchungeumyobang to investigate changes of texts. Result : I can find significant differences of furunculus section between Sonjininchungeumbang and Bigeupchungeumyobang, specially the 3rd prescription of Balbae(發背方第三), the 6th prescription of Pyojeo(瘭疽方第六). Conclusion : Sonjininchungeumbang is a prescription book which is compiled in Dang dynasty. And Bigeupchungeumyobangis is a revised version of Sonjininchungeumbang which is compiled by the Bureau for Revising Medical Texts(校正醫書局) in Song dynsasty. Bigeupchungeumyobangis shows the added medical knowledge about furunculus in Song dynsasty.

Herbal medicine has been traditional used for prevention and treatment of treatment of disease, because herbal medicine has few side effects in the human body. Anti-medicines such as antimicrobial medicine and anti-cancer medicine, which contains herbal medicine, are being studied vigorously by researchers. The effects of Geum Japonicum Thumb are restorative, blood circulation and detoxification. It also treats hematemesis, menstruation and furunculus. The ingredients of Geum Japonicum Thumb include geoside and tannin. The study measured antioxidative activation and antifungal activation by using Geum Japonicum Thumb water and methanol extract. The crude extract, which was used for this study, was Korean herbal medicine and the results are as follows. As Geum Japonicum Thumb extracts get stronger, the antioxidative activation tended to increase. The antioxidative activation hit its peak when the density of methanol extract was 120ug/ml. The experiment showed that a 1.0mm clear zone appeared when the density of the Geum Japonicum Thumb methanol extracts were 1000ug/ml in the Staphylococcus epidermidis and 1.1mm clear zone at Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The results of this study concludes that the antioxidative activation is lubricated in the Geum Japonicum Thumb extracts. In addition, the antifungal activation occurred in the fungus of the Staphylococcus epidermidis and the Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Scolpendra subspinipes (centipede) is pungent in flavor, activates the channels to stop pain, and, removes toxins and resolves masses. So it has been used as a folk remedy. We researched folk remedies which used centipede as a single medicine and results of its prior clinical and experimental study, and figured out that centipedes are effective on ulcerative disease, herpes zoster, clavus, insect bite, inflammatory disease, furunculus, pain disease by external therapy, and oral administration is effective on anti-cancer such as hepatoma and uterine cancer, cerebrovascular disease, inhibition of atherosclerosis, sedation of central nervous system, antipyretic action, and anti-inflammation, and centipede Herb-Acupuncture is effective on inflammatory disease and pain disease. Centipede preparation materials for external therapy were sesame oil, perilla oil, vinegar, salt, and, burnt alum. Fumigation of centipede treated paronychia, pertussis, and hemorrhoids. For the external therapy, the way of centipede powder mixing with other materials has been used. It is needed that we use dusted powder to make skin absorb its ingredients more easily, and we study intensely minor ingredients to make centipede components absorbed more effectively and do pharmacological action. Also, fumigation, a kind of another external therapy, is considered to be effective treatment of upper respiratory infection like pertussis, so it needs an in-depth study on centipede fumigation.
