Objectives : Korean traditional medicinal herbs have been used to improve the function of the hematopoietic system. The purpose of this study is to examine the hematopoietic effects of Juakium-derivative on aplastic anemia. Methods : In vitro, after bone marrow cells of mice with aplastic anemia induced by benzene were cultured with Juakium-derivative, we measured the gene expressions of hematopoietic cytokines, the intracellular TPO and SCF expression and the colony number of CFU-GEMM and BFU-E. Results : The results are summarized as follows : 1. The gene expressions of hematopoietic cytokines (TPO, c-mpl, SCF, c-kit, IL-3, EPO, EpoR, GM-CSF) and the TPO and SCF expression of the group treated with Juakium-derivative increased significantly more than those of the control group. 2. The colony number of CFU-GEMM and BFU-E in the rEPO plus rIL-3 plus Juakium-derivative group increased significantly compared with the only rEPO plus rIL-3 group. Conclusion : It was acknowledged that Juakium-derivative has hemato-potentiating effects on aplastic anemia induced by benzene and it is expected that Juakium-derivative can be used clinically for the patient with hematopoietic system disorder. This study could also be used further as important research data for Korean oriental medicine about hemato-potentiating. The exact mechanism explaining our study would need to be studied further.
Internet shoppers interact with Internet shopping mall systems while they shop. To understand why Internet shoppers make purchase, this study view Internet shopping malls as information systems. Although this view point seems reasonable, little previous studies employing this perspective are found in the relevant literature. This study develops a research model where Internet shoppers' transaction intentions are affected by the mediating effects of trust and satisfaction. Trust can mitigate uncertainty of the e-commerce environment for consumers, and satisfaction is widely used to measure the effectiveness of information systems. Therefore, we consider them as key elements in this study. We further employ the construct of website quality to explain why shoppers have different levels of trust and satisfaction. We classify website quality into information quality, system quality. and design quality. We collected 282 survey responses from Internet shoppers who have prior experiences with Internet shopping malls to purchase a product or service. The survey data are used to empirically test the proposed nine research hypotheses using LISREL. The LISREL results indicate that information quality and design quality have significant impact on both satisfaction and trust, while system quality has little relation to trust level. Further, trust is shown to have significant influence on satisfaction. Finally. both trust and satisfaction is strongly related to the future transaction intention.

Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of workload on musculoskeletal degeneration. Background: It is important that workers maintain a health body for a long time as a measure of aging workers. In order do so, it is necessary to find out if workload can effect on musculoskeletal degeneration. Method: Epidemiological studies on workload or occupation and disc degeneration, osteoarthritis of knee were identified through database and bibliography searches. Results: Epidemiological studies showed that workload certainly effect on musculoskeletal degeneration. But we couldn't know which of individual factors and occupational factors further contribute to the musculoskeletal degeneration. And we could find that studies on workload and genetic factors were very few. In addition, there was also very few studies that it was possible interaction between individual factors as obesity and occupational factors as heavy manual lifting. Conclusion: Our reviews suggest that it need to conduct study between workload and genetic factors for musculoskeletal degeneration. This further study can identify attributable risk of workload for musculoskeletal degeneration, and contribute to the measure of aging workers. Application: This paper can help to establish research plan for the measure of aging workers.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of a simulation-based practice on clinical performance and problem solving processes for nursing students. Method: The study used a one group pre-post test design. Students experienced a simulation-based practice that included team base learning, skill training, taking a high-fidelity simulation with SimMan 3G, and also being debriefed for 12 weeks (August 2010 to December 2010). The pre-test and post-test were conducted to compare the differences in knowledge, clinical nursing skills, and problem solving processes. Result: After students had received the simulation-based practice, they showed statistically significant higher knowledge (t=14.73, p<.001) and clinical nursing skills (t=15.47, p<.001) than before. However, there was no significant difference in the problem solving process score (t=1.53, p=.127). Conclusion: This study showed that knowledge and clinical nursing skills were significantly improved by the simulation-based practice. Further research would be required to identify how the problem solving process that uses simulation-based practice could be developed further.
This study provides empirical evidence for the role of IT professional's expertise in hospital IT service encounters. It is posited here that IT professional's technological expertise and business expertise are associated with relationship quality(trust, satisfaction, commitment). Partial least square analyses are conducted, using data collected from 216 hospital workers. The results confirm that technological expertise strongly impacts on commitment and business expertise maintain a strong impact on satisfaction and trust. This study uses a cross-sectional survey as a research method. Longitudinal study seems necessary to further explore how expertise perception is actually formed between IT professionals and users in hospital service environments. The analysis also reveals that it takes time to grow relationship quality. Implications are discussed, and further studies are suggested.

The purpose of this study was to examine the actual state of cooking wine usage, and analyze the relationship between the attributes of cooking wine and demographic characteristics. The major findings of this study are as follows. First, the origin and correct choice of cooking wine were significantly related to hotel type, restaurant type and career. Second, the importance of the taste and aroma of a cooking wine, which are intrinsic attributes in the evaluation of a wine, had significant relationships with all the demographic variables whereas the importance of purchase cost and label information of the cooking wine only exhibited a significant correlation with career (p<0.05). Third, 53.7% of the respondents used cooking wine based on recipes, while the rest used it by rule of thumb. These results between restaurant type were significantly different (p<0.05). For the results of this research to be of more use, further research should be conducted on the functional aspects of cooking wine and their effects on cooking. In addition, further systematic research should be performed on the functional and sensory effects of a variety of wine tastes and aromas on cooking.
Objectives : The aim of the research is to study the edible parts and cooking methods for the Korean medicinal plants using documents of Japanese occupation era. Through this study, we expect that it will be used as a basis data on further Korean traditional edible herb. Methods : The research analyze the usage of 74 species of medicinal plants that are listed in the 『Wild Food Plants of Chosen(Korea)』 along with analyzing 8 extra documents about famine relief plants and cooking method written during Japanese occupation. Results : The result shows that the sprouts and buds are the most popular for the edible purposes but they are never used for medical reason. Roots and fruits take the highest percentage when it comes to medical purposes. Types of medicinal plants that were used a lot of cooking methods were side dishes such as 'Namul, Saengchae, Jangajji'. Conclusions : Using medicinal plants for edible and medical purposes were traditionally familiar with Korean culture but the changes provoked by industrialization forbid the knowledge to pass through. However, recently, the trend of having a healthy life interests people to backtrack this traditional way of using medicinal plants with new purposes. To inherit traditional knowledge and for the future development of Korean traditional ingredients, further research should be conducted.
This study aimed to predict retail sales of local markets in Jinan city of China with the Huff model. Using the Huff Model, we examined whether the predicted retail sales of local markets may be different in Jinan, China, from the department stores, supermarkets, shopping centers/shopping malls, and home appliance stores. The probability that a customer shops at location depends upon the store size and the travel time factors calculated by the Huff Model. We found that the predictedretail sales of shopping malls have a greater value than others. People who live in a mid-sized city may have easier access to any stores within the city boundary than people in metropolitan areas. Therefore, people in a mid-sized city are more sensitive to store size, because a bigger store size means greater opportunities, incentivizing consumers to travel further to competing stores after passing by nearer, smaller stores. This study has some limitations. First, the data is somewhat restricted in that the subject stores do not represent all of the stores in Jinan. Second, we cannot compare the estimated market share of the stores and the actual sales data. It is further suggested in this study that more databases be developed throughout such East Asian countries as Korea and Japan and that a different parameter λ value in the Huff Model be utilized for mid-sized cities.
Phenol is frequently present as the hazardous pollutant in petrochemical and pesticide industry wastewater. Because of its high toxicity and carcinogenic potential, a proper treatment is needed to reduce the hazards of phenol carrying effluent before being discharged into the environment. Phenol biodegradation with microbial consortium offers a very promising approach now a day's. This study focused on the formulation of phenol degrading bacterial consortium with three bacterial isolates. The bacterial strains Bacillus cereus strain VCRC B540, Bacillus cereus strain BRL02-43 and Oxalobacteraceae strain CC11D were isolated from detergent contaminated soil by soil enrichment technique and was identified by 16s rDNA sequence analysis. Individual cultures were degrade 100 μl phenol in 72 hrs. The formulated bacterial consortium was very effective in degrading 250 μl of phenol at a pH 7 with in 48 hrs. The study further focused on the analysis of the products of biodegradation with Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT/IR) and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectroscopy (GC-MS). The analysis showed the complete degradation of phenol and the production of Benzene di-carboxylic acid mono (2-ethylhexyl) ester and Ethane 1,2- Diethoxy- as metabolic intermediates. Biodegradation with the aid of microorganisms is a potential approach in terms of cost-effectiveness and elimination of secondary pollutions. The present study established the efficiency of bacterial consortium to degrade phenol. Optimization of biodegradation conditions and construction of a bioreactor can be further exploited for large scale industrial applications.
