This study analyzed efficiency by utilizing DEA analytical technique centering on materials for 2009 of 20 major university hospitals in capital area. Input variables were utilized professor & full-time doctor, resident, nurse & number of bed hospitals. Output variables were analyzed by dividing number of annual outpatients & number of annual inpatients, and annually total outpatient profit & inpatient profit into a model of the standard for number of patients and the standard for medical profit. DEA analysis was elicited efficiency score by applying CCR, BCC, BFG, scale profit, and SE model. Through t-test after eliciting efficiency score, the implications were suggested by comparing efficiency between DMU in Seoul and DMU in capital area, by comparing between high-class general hospitals and general hospitals, and by comparing between high-class general hospitals in Seoul and 5 big hospitals. As a result of analysis, the major university hospitals in capital area showed high efficiency as a whole close to "1," but indicated low efficiency relatively in CCR field. Thus, the expansion in scale within capital area was indicated to reach the limit. Second, in a model of analyzing the standard for number of patients, the medical institutions, which are being operated efficiently, were indicated to be 10 DMUs. In the standard for medical profit, 12 DMUs were analyzed to be operated efficiently. Third, the efficiency in general hospital was higher than high-class general hospital. Thus, the efficiency of operation was indicated to be more important than scale. Also, large high-class hospitals(big 5) where are located in downtown Seoul showed the higher efficiency than other general high-class general hospitals, but were indicating very low efficiency in some DMUs. Fourth, as a result of generalizing and evaluating the number of patients and the medical profit, the efficient DMU was indicated to be more when analyzing on the basis of medical profit than the standard for number of patients. Thus, major university hospitals in capital area were indicated to make more effort for section in medical profit. Based on the analytical results of efficiency, a strategy for reinforcing efficiency in inefficient DMU was indicated to be needed a strategy of creating customers for promoting number of patients and a strategy for making operation efficient for increasing profitability.

In the case of 'MAEMI', the Typhoon which formed in September, 2003, the largest-scale damage of tidal wave was caused by the co-occurrence of Typhoon surge and full tide. Until now Korea has been focusing on the calculating the amount of damage and its restoration to cope with these sea and harbor disasters. It is essential to establish some systematic counterplans to diminish such damages of large-scale tidal invasion on coastal lowlands considering the recent weather conditions of growing scale of typhoons. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to make the counterplans for prevention against disasters fulfilled effectively based on the data conducted by comparing and analyzing the accuracy between observation values and the results of estimating the greatest overflow area according to abnormal tidal levels centered on Masan area where there was the severest damage from tidal wave at that time. It's necessary utilize data like high-resolution satellite image and LiDAR(etc.) for correct analysis data considering geographical characteristics of dangerous area from the storm surge. And we must make a solution to minimize the damage by making data of dangerous section of flood into GIS Database using those data (as stated above) and drawing correcter damage function.

In this study, the in-situ model test has been conducted and used to estimate and analyze consolidation behavior of the ground by using the miniature test that reconstructs economically geotechnical behavior of in-situ full scale structure. To analogize the relation among effective stress, void ratio and coefficient of permeability at the self-weight consolidation stage, the low stress seepage consolidation test has been conducted and the involution function of constitutive equation had been obtained from the result of the curve fitted seepage consolidation test result. As a result of the numerical analysis that had been conducted on the representative section using a constitute equation, final settlement was similar with those of self-weight consolidation of the centrifugal model test. But, it was more or less smaller. It seems that these trends are caused by the difference between estimated values.
The study presents the results of an experimental program concerning the shear force transfer between reinforced concrete (RC) jackets and existing columns with damages. In order to investigate the effectiveness of the repair method applied and the contribution of each shear transfer mechanism of the interface. It includes 22 concrete columns (core) (of 24,37MPa concrete strength) with square section (150mm side, 500 mm height and scale 1:2). Ten columns had initial construction damages and twelve were subjected to initial axial load. Sixteen columns have full jacketing at all four faces with 80mm thickness (of 31,7MPa concrete strength) and contain longitudinal bars (of 500MPa nominal strength) and closed stirrups spaced at 25mm, 50mm or 100mm (of 220MPa nominal strength). Fourteen of them contain dowels at the interface between old and new concrete. All columns were subjected to repeated (pseudo-seismic) axial compression with increasing deformation cycles up to failure with or without jacketing. Two load patterns were selected to examine the difference of the behavior of columns. The effects of the initial damages, of the reinforcement of the interface (dowels) and of the confinement generated by the stirrups are investigated through axial- deformation (slip) diagrams and the energy absorbed diagrams. The results indicate that the initial damages affect the total behavior of the column and the capacity of the interface to shear mechanisms and to slip: a) the maximum bearing load of old column is decreased affecting at the same time the loading capacity of the jacketed element, b) suitable repair of initially damaged specimens increases the capacity of the jacketed column to transfer load through the interface.

Optical resonances of metallic or dielectric nanoantennas enable to effectively convert free-propagating electromagnetic waves to localized electromagnetic fields and vice versa. Plasmonic resonances of metal nanoantennas extremely modify the local density of optical states beyond the optical diffraction limit and thus facilitate highly-efficient light-emitting, nonlinear signal conversion, photovoltaics, and optical trapping. The leaky-mode resonances, or termed Mie resonances, allow dielectric nanoantennas to have a compact size even less than the wavelength scale. The dielectric nanoantennas exhibiting low optical losses and supporting both electric and magnetic resonances provide an alternative to their metallic counterparts. To extend the utility of metal and dielectric nanoantennas in further applications, e.g. metasurfaces and metamaterials, it is required to understand and engineer their scattering characteristics. At first, we characterize resonant plasmonic antenna radiations of a single-crystalline Ag nanowire over a wide spectral range from visible to near infrared regions. Dark-field optical microscope and direct far-field scanning measurements successfully identify the FP resonances and mode matching conditions of the antenna radiation, and reveal the mutual relation between the SPP dispersion and the far-field antenna radiation. Secondly, we perform a systematical study on resonant scattering properties of high-refractive-index dielectric nanoantennas. In this research, we examined Si nanoblock and electron-beam induced deposition (EBID) carbonaceous nanorod structures. Scattering spectra of the transverse-electric (TE) and transverse-magnetic (TM) leaky-mode resonances are measured by dark-field microscope spectroscopy. The leaky-mode resonances result a large scattering cross section approaching the theoretical single-channel scattering limit, and their wide tuning ranges enable vivid structural color generation over the full visible spectrum range from blue to green, yellow, and red. In particular, the lowest-order TM01 mode overcomes the diffraction limit. The finite-difference time-domain method and modal dispersion model successfully reproduce the experimental results.

A test program was conducted on full-scale steel moment connections constructed using a T-stiffener. In the T-stiffener connection, the beam-to-column connection was reinforced with the horizontal and vertical element of the T-stiffener to resist moment under severe cyclic loads. A total of five specimens were tested in this study together with a concrete-filled tubular(CFT) column(${\sqsubset}-500{\times}500{\times}12$) and a steel beam($H-506{\times}201{\times}11{\times}19$). For the specimens, the T-stiffener was combined with RBS (also known as "Dog-bone") detail or Horizontal Element Hole(HEH) detail constructed to enhance deformation capacity. The test program showed excellent seismic performance for specimens constructed with an RBS or an HEH. except the specimens had brittle failure of VE. The test results also showed that the connections all developed maximum moments at the face of the column. Such moments were at least 15% and as much as 36% larger than the plastic moment capacity of the beam. based on the actual yield stress of the beam steel.

This study investigated the basic data of architectural design about framework dimensions inherent in a folk house of Yeosu city generally and systematically. We investigated the common dimensions of framework constitution for folk house (main building) seen a lot in Yeosu city. Most of the folk houses in Yeosu city were common people houses built from the end of 19th century to the 1960s and have maintained the same style for a long time. As a result of the study, common dimensions were calculated in two ways. One is Front toi/3ryang house and the other is Front/back toi/2kozu5ryang house. Front/back toi house was large in the case of full width, total height, and member thickness but, width of the front kan is no big difference. In other words, the scale of Front toi house and Front/back toi house is difference only in the rest except front kan (width). Among calculated common dimensions, the front kan of Front toi house and Front/back toi house in the plan, the kitchen is the widest, and the size is the same at 8.7 chucks degree. The next became small little by little in order of room 1(main room), room 2(center room), room 3(end room). As a result, the size of the room 3 of Front toi house reaches 7.7 chucks, and room 3 of Front/back toi house reaches 8.0 chucks. In the section dimensions, pillar height is in sum of floor height and pillar core height, Front toi house is 7.9 chucks, and Front/back toi house is 8.2 chucks. The investigation of basic data of architectural design is not only makes possible to grasp specific and simple to three-dimensional universal aspect on framework dimensions, but also documentation of folk house design know-how is done, and the architectural design standards of Korean folk house is written in the contents according to the area.

The authors considered the effects of trim in the small coastal passenger boat upon resistance in this paper. Any change of trim no matter how small, necessarily produces some effect upon resistance. The relations between the resistance coefficients and trim were investigated through the towing test of the Model $MCI-P_1-65$, Korean Standardized Ship, GT 70 tons passenger boat in the gravitational tank. The Lines of the Model are given in Fig. 1. Principal dimensions and other characteristics vary with the trim in general. Those values varied with the trim for $MCI-P_1-65$ are tabulated in table 1. The resistance was measured at five conditions such as even keel, 0.0273L, (original designed trim) 0.0473L, 0.0663L, 0.0873L trim by the stern, fixing the displacement corresponding to the designed load water line. Model was made of wood in length of 3.5 feet coated with varnish, and without appendages. As the artificial turbulent stimulator, the sand strip method was used. The results of model towing tests, correcting to water temperature of $70^{\circ}F$, were expanded to full scale using the Schoenherr's friction formula and surface roughness allowance coefficient of 0.0004. The authors point out, the following results. 1) Optimum trim which gives the minimum resistance exists for every speed at constant displacement and each comes to the same value. For $MCI-P_1-65$ optimum trim is 0.0673L trim by the stern(Fig.4-The cross curves of the resistancecoefficients). 2) At constant displacement, when LCB(longitudinal position of center of buoyancy) varies with the trim, there exists optimum value of LCB which gives minimum resistance for every speed and each comes to the same value. For $MCI-P_1-65$ optimum position of LCB is 8%L aft from midship section (Fig.6).

The weight of concrete could be reduced by using hollow core slabs instead of heavy solid slabs, leading to cost reduction. The long span be also achieved by introducing prestress in hollow core slabs. but the evaluation of shear strength of precast-prestressed hollow core slabs are needed because the cross section is reduced in web and arranging shear reinforcement is not possible. In this study, the shear strength of precast-prestressed hollow core slabs were evaluated based on experimental tests. For this purpose, six full scale specimens were made and tested. The shear strength of the specimens were compared with those evaluated from current design provision(EC2 ACI, EN1168 and AASHTO).
This paper summarises the results of an experimental study to investigate the flexural behaviour of reinforced concrete beams strengthened using carbon-fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) laminate in four-point bending. The experimental parameters included are the reinforcing bar ratio ${\rho}_s$ and preload level. Four bar ratios were selected (${\rho}_s=0.13$ to 0.86%), representing the section of two longitudinal tensile reinforcements, with diameters of 8, 14, 16, and 20 mm in order to reveal the effect of bar ratio on failure load and failure mode. Eight beams that could be considered "full-scale" in size, measuring 200 mm in width, 400 mm in total height and 2300 mm in length, were tested. Three beams were selected with different bar ratios (${\rho}_1$, ${\rho}_2$, ${\rho}_3$), and considered as control specimens (without ), while three other beams identical to the control beams with the same CFRP laminates ratio and a seventh beam with ${\rho}_{min}$ (the lowest bar ratio) were also used. In the second part of the study, two beams with the bar ratio ${\rho}_2$ were preloaded at two levels, 50 and 100% of their ultimate loads, and then repaired. This experimental investigation was consolidated using an analytical model. The experimental and analytical results indicate that the flexional capacity and stiffness of strengthened and repaired beams using CFRP laminate were increased compared to those of control beams, and the behaviour of repaired beams was nearly similar to the undamaged and strengthened beams; unlike the ductility of strengthened beams, which was greatly reduced compared to the control.
