This paper describes a real time algorithm for blood flow estimation of LDF(laser Doppler flowmeter). Many algorithms for blood flow estimation are using power spectral density of Doppler signal by blood flow. In these research, the fast Fourier transformation is used to estimate power spectral density. This is a block processing procedure rather than real time processing. The algorithm in this paper used parametric spectral estimation. This has real time capability by estimation of AR(autoregressive) parameters sample by sample, and has smoothing power spectrum. Also, the frequency resolution is not limited by number of samples used to estimate AR parameter. Another advantage of this algorithm is that AR model enhance SNR.
This paper proposes an algorithm for the differential protection of an Indirect Symmetrical Phase Shift Transformer (ISPST) by considering the different behaviors of the compensated differential current under internal fault and magnetizing inrush conditions. In this algorithm, a criterion function is defined which is based on the difference of amplitude of the wavelet transformation over a specific frequency band. The function has been used for the discrimination between three phase magnetizing inrush and internal fault condition and requires less than a quarter cycle after disturbance. This method is independent of any coefficient or threshold values of wavelet transformation. The merit of this algorithm is demonstrated by the simulation of different faults in series and excitation unit and magnetizing inrush with varying switching conditions on ISPST using PSCAD/EMTDC. Due to unavailability of in-field large interconnected transformers for such a large number of destructive tests, the results are further verified by Real Time Digital Simulator (RSCAD/RTDS). The proposed algorithm has been compared with the conventional harmonic restraint based method that justifies the application of wavelet transform for differential protection of ISPST. The proposed algorithm has also been verified for different rating of ISPSTs and satisfactory results were obtained.

Wind-induced vibration of buildings with viscoelastic dampers are studied analytically. The added viscoelastic dampers change the damping distribution and reduce the response of buildings. The distribution of damping resistance that results from these viscoelastic dampers is known as non-classical or non-proportional. Non-classically damped structures are analyzed by state-space approach. However, this approach is complex and time-consumming compared to classical approach. This paper is aimed at the analysis of wind-induced Vibration Of buildings With Viscoelastic dampers. The Process Of State-Space approach is studied and the approximate analysis is suggested to overcome the complex and time-consuming access. For numerical certification, PSDF(Power Spectral Density Function) is obtained. Autocorrelation function is obtained in time domain and PSDF is obtained by fourier transformation of this function in frequency domain. It is found that Approximate method can give close approximation to exact solution.
A control algorithm for seismic protection of building structures based on the theory of variable structural control or sliding mode control is presented. The paper focus in the design of sliding surface. A method for determining the sliding surface by pole assignment algorithm where the poles of the system in the sliding surface are obtained on-line, based on the frequency content of the incoming earthquake signal applied to the structure, is proposed. The proposed algorithm consists of the following steps: (i) On-line FFT process is applied to the incoming part of the signal and its frequency content is recognized. (ii) A transformation of the frequency content to the complex plane is performed and the desired location of poles of the controlled structure on the sliding surface is estimated. (iii) Based on the estimated poles the sliding surface is obtained. (iv) Then, the control force which will drive the response trajectory into the estimated sliding surface and force it to stay there all the subsequent time is obtained using Lyapunov stability theory. The above steps are repeated continuously for the entire duration of the incoming earthquake. The potential applications and the effectiveness of the improved control algorithm are demonstrated by numerical examples. The simulation results indicate that the response of a structure is reduced significantly compared to the response of the uncontrolled structure, while the required control demand is achievable.

This paper presents ripple-free method that can occur in multirate controller design. The conventional multirate input controller has the problem that the ripple occurs in track-following because of chattering phenomenon in control input signal. In order to resolve the problem of rippling, it was proposed to eliminate the ripple phenomenon using feedforward compensator. This paper makes explains problems in conventional ripple-tree multirate controller and introduces a multirate controller design method applying lifting technique based on current estimators in condition space. Using the ripple-tree multirate controller, we show that chattering does not occur in the control input signal through applying the final value theorem from the viewpoint of discrete-time transformation. Also, this study proves that the ripple of the proposed controller decreases with the increase of this sampling frequency and, when sampling frequency is fixed, it decreases with the increase of the control input period.
This paper presents a new stochastic controller applied on the vibration control system under irregular disturbances based on the mode selection scheme. Measured displacement and frequency characteristics are simultaneously used in designing a mode selecting controller. This technique is validated by applying to the suppression problem of a flexible beam with randomly vibrated circumstances. The presented method, called Mode Selecting Stochastic Controller, uses the frequency measurement of the flexible system based on a Fast-Fourier transformation algorithm. This controller is constructed by combining mode selection method with previous known Stochastic Controller in real time: Numerical simulations and several experiments are conducted to validate the proposed method. The performance of the proposed method is compared with a stochastic controller developed recently. This method was improved compared with previous one.

Numerical analysis has been made on the dynamic behavior of an elastically supported beam subjected to an axial force and solid viscosity when the frequency of external force passes through the first critical frequency of the beam. Within the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory the solutions are obtained by using finite Fourier sine transform and Laplace transformation methods with respect to space and time variables. Integrations involved in the theoretical results are carried out by Simpson's numerical integration rule. The result shows that the maximum value of the dynamic deflection are much affected by the value of a solid viscosity, an axial force, an elastic constant and ratio of .omega.$_{max}$/.omega.$_{1}$.
Fast algorithm is proposed by using mel scale and the distribution characteristic of LSP parameters, and is to reduce the computational amount. Computational amount means the calculating times of transformation from LPC coefficients to LSP parameters. Among conventional methods, the real root method is considerably simpler than other, but neverthless, it still suffer from its indeterministic computational time. Because the root searching is processed sequentially in frequency region. In this paper, the searching interval is arranged by using mel scale but not it is uniform and searching order is arranged by the distribution characteristic of LSP parameters that is most LSP papameters are occured in specific frequency region. In experimental results, computational amount of the proposed algorithm is reduced about 48.95% in average, but the transformed LSP parameters of the proposed method were the same as those of real root method.
We are exposed to the various external stimuli input from the environment, which cause emotional changes based on the characteristics of the stimuli. Unfortunately there are no quantitative results on relationship between human sensibility and the characteristics of physiological signals. The objective of this study was to quantify EEG signals evoked by auditory stimulation based on the assumption that the analysis of the variability on the characteristics of the EEG waveform may provide the significant information regarding changes in psychological states of the subject. The experiment was devised with seven experimental conditions, which are control and six different types of auditory stimulation. Six subjects were used to obtain EEGs while introducing auditory stimulation. Wavelet transformation was employed to analyze the EEG signals. The results showed that the reconstructed signals at the decomposition level revealed the different energy value on the EEG signal. Also, general patterns of EEG signals in rest state compare with negative and positive stimulus were found. This study could be extended to establish an algorithm which distinguishes psychophysiological states of the subjects exposed to the auditory stimulation.
LSP(Line Spectrum Pairs) Parameter is used for speech analysis in vocoders or recognizers since it has advantages of constant spectrum sensitivity, low spectrum distortion and easy linear interpolation. However the method of transforming LPC(Linear Predictive Coding) into LSP is so complex that it takes much time to compute. Among conventional methods, the real root method is considerably simpler than others, but nevertheless, it still suffers from its indeterministic computation time because the root searching is processed sequentially in frequency region. We suggest a method of reducing the LSP transformation time using voice characteristics.
