폴리카보실란 에멀젼의 동결건조를 이용한 다공체 SiC 제조 (Preparation of Porous SiC by Freeze Drying of Polycarbosilane Emulsion)

  • Porous SiC beads were prepared by freeze-drying a polycarbosilane (PCS) emulsion. The water-in-oil (w/o) emulsion, which was composed of water, PCS dissolved p-xylene, and sodium xylenesulfonate (SXS) as an emulsifier, was frozen by dropping it onto a liquid $N_2$ bath; this process resulted in 1~2 mm sized beads. Beads were cured at $200^{\circ}C$ for 1 h in air and heat-treated at $800^{\circ}C$ and $1400^{\circ}C$ for 1 h in an Ar gas flow. Two types of pores, lamella-shaped and spherical pores, were observed. Lamellar-shaped pores were found to develop during the freezing of the xylene solvent. Water droplets in the w/o emulsion were changed into spherical pores under freeze-drying. At $1400^{\circ}C$ of heat-treatment, porous SiC was synthesized with a low level of impurities.

PEG처리 후 동결건조한 수침고목재의 습도조건에 따른 상태변화 (Dimensional Change of PEG-Freeze Dried Waterlogged Woods Exposed at Various Humidity Conditions)

  • 열화가 많이 된 수침고목재(토탄층 물푸레나무)를 물과 t-butanol을 용매로 하여 PEG농도를 $10\~80\%$로 다양하게 처리한 후 동결건조와 자연건조 하였다. 건조 후 여러 가지 습도 조건에서 45개월간 조습처리하여 중량 변화율과 수축률을 측정하여 치수안정화 효과를 확인하였다. 건조 후 습도조건에 따른 상태변화에서는 수용액으로 처리한 시편이 t-butanol을 용매로 처리한 시편보다 치수안정성이 우수하였다. 이러한 결과는 t-butanol을 용매로한 처리가 유기용매치환으로 인하여 목재섬유의 유연성이 저하되고 동결건조 후 목재조직은 과도한 건조로 인하여 미세할렬이 다수 발생되기 때문으로 판단된다. 과도건조에 의해 발생된 미세할렬은 목재조직을 더욱 취약하게 만들며, 고습도에서 PEG가 수분을 흡습하면서 목재조직 내부에 응해 흡착될 때 취약한 목재가 이를 지탱하지 못하여 수축이 일어난 것으로 보인다. 본 연구결과 열화가 많이 진행된(최대함수율 $800\%$) 수침고목재의 경우는 t-butanol을 용매로 이용하지 않더라도 PEG수용액 ($40\%$정도)으로 전처리 하는 것이 동결건조 후 치수안정성이 우수한 것으로 확인되었다.

TiH2/camphene 슬러리의 동결건조 및 열처리에 의한 Ti 계 다공체의 제조 (Fabrication of Porous Ti by Freeze-Drying and Heat Treatment of TiH2/Camphene Slurries)

  • Porous Ti-systems with unidirectionally aligned channels were synthesized by freeze-drying and a heat treatment process. $TiH_2$ powder and camphene were used as the source materials of Ti and sublimable vehicles, respectively. Camphene slurries with $TiH_2$ content of 10 and 15 vol% were prepared by milling at $50^{\circ}C$ with a small amount of oligomeric polyester dispersant. Freezing of the slurry was done in a Teflon cylinder attached to a copper bottom plate cooled at $-25^{\circ}C$ while unidirectionally controlling the growth direction of the camphene. Pores were generated subsequently by sublimation of the camphene during drying in air for 48 h. The green body was heat-treated at $1100^{\circ}C$ for 1 h in a nitrogen and air atmosphere. XRD analysis revealed that the samples composed of TiN and $TiO_2$ phase were dependent on the heat-treatment atmosphere. The sintered samples showed large pores of about 120 mm which were aligned parallel to the camphene growth direction. The internal wall of the large pores had relatively small pores with a dendritic structure due to the growth of camphene dendrite depending on the degree of nucleation and powder rearrangement in the slurry. These results suggest that a porous body with an appropriate microstructure can be successfully fabricated by freeze-drying and a controlled sintering process of a camphene/$TiH_2$ slurry.

Effect of Starch Noodle (Dangmyeon) and Pork Intestines on the Rehydration Stability of Korean Blood Sausage (Sundae)

  • This study was conducted to examine the effects of starch noodles (dangmyeon; SNs) with different starch sources and porcine intestines (PIs) with different pH on the rehydration stability of Korean blood sausage (sundae). Mungbean SN3 and PI3 (pH 9.18) showed significantly higher values of 80.69%-91.67% and 79.66%-80.98%, respectively, regardless of the drying methods (hot air, vacuum and freeze drying) (p<0.05). A number of larger pores were observed only in the cross-section of the freeze dried SN and PI through SEM. SN2 (potato starch) and PI3 (pH 9.18) showed lower expansion (⁎ΔL 6.90 mm) and higher expansion ratio (⁎ΔL 26.29 mm), respectively, after rehydration of freeze dried sample (p<0.05). From the application of SN2 (potato starch) and PI (0.5%-2.0% Na-pyrophosphate) to freeze dried sundae manufacturing, higher rehydration stability of more than 91.5% was obtained. These results suggested that potato SN and treatment of PI with Na-pyrophosphate is useful for desirable rehydration stability of freeze dried sundae.

저장기간에 따른 동결건조 농후 발효유 내 유산균 생균수 변화 (Changes in the Viability of Lactic Acid Bacteria during Storage of Freeze-Dried Yogurt Snacks)

  • 본 연구에서는 동결건조 공정에 의한 유산균의 생균수 감소를 최소화 할 수 있는 농후 발효유를 개발하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 농후 발효유 제조에 첨가되는 당의 종류 및 구성을 달리하여 동결 건조 전후의 유산균 생존율을 비교 분석하였다. 그 결과, 포도당의 일부를 이소말토올리고당으로 대체하였을 때, 발효유 내 초기 유산균 생균수 및 동결건조 공정 이후의 유산균 생존율 또한 높아졌다. 또한 동결 건조 시 열판 온도가 낮을 경우, 건조 효율은 떨어지지만, 동결건조 이후의 동결건조 농후 발효유 내 초기 유산균 생존율이 높았다. 16주간의 저장기간에 따른 유산균 생균수 변화를 살펴본 결과, 상온보관 조건에서 유산균은 지수적으로 감소하였다. 하지만 16주가 경과한 후에도 $1.63{\times}10^8CFU/g$의 생균수를 유지하여 약 0.6 g 이상의 동결건조 농후 발효유만 섭취하여도 체내에서 유산균 증식 및 유해균 억제 배변활동 원활 등의 건강기능성을 가질 수 있는 수준이었다. 하지만 본 연구에서는 식품 매트릭스에 따른 동결방지 효과를 파악할 때, 유산균 생균수를 유일한 지표로 삼았다는데 한계가 있다. 유산균 생균수뿐만 아니라, 유산균의 활성을 살펴보기 위해 동결건조 이후의 젖산 생성능력이나 실질적으로 체내에 들어갔을 때 위액이나 담즙액에 대한 저항성 측면에서의 추가 연구가 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

고함수율 수침고목재의 동결 건조를 위한 PEG 전처리 농도 및 용매 설정 (Determination of PEG Concentration and Solvent Selection for Freeze-Drying of Highly-Degraded Waterlogged Woods)

  • 아주 많이 분해된 고함수율 수침고목재(평택 토탄층 출토 물푸레나무, 약 5,700 BP)의 동결 건조를 위한 PEG (#3350) 전처리 조건을 규명하고자, PEG 농도와 용매 종류에 따른 치수 안전성을 비교하였다. 함침 처리 중 시간별로 조사한 중량 변화율을 보았을 때, 물과 t-부탄올 용매 모두 저농도에서는 PEG가 짧은 시간내에 침투, 확산하며 고농도에서는 저농도에서 보다 중량이 완만히 증가하여 함침 시간이 길게 요구되었다. t-부탄올 용매가 물보다 PEG 침투량을 향상시켰다. 그러나 동결 건조후 치수 안정성은 저농도 PEG 수용액으로 전처리하는 것이 우수하였다. 고농도 (60%-70%) PEG 처리 (t-부탄올 용매)의 경우는 치수안정성이 떨어졌는데 이는 고농도에서는 PEG가 동결이 완전히 이루어지지 않을 뿐만 아니라 과잉 침투된 PEG가 건조후 수분을 다시 흡수하였기 때문으로 생각된다. 고농도 (70%) PEG 수용액 처리 후 자연건조한 것은 함몰이 발생하였다. 이상의 결과, 아주 많이 분해된 고함수율 수침고목재의 경우는 t-부탄올 용매가 필요 없이 저농도 PEG 수용액 (40%정도)으로 전처리하는 것이 동결 건조에 가장 적합한 것으로 밝혀졌다.

슬러지 냉동처리에 의한 갈조류로부터 바이오가스 생산 (Freeze Treatment of Sludge for the Biogas Production from Brown Macroalgae)

  • 본 연구에서는 해조류 다시마를 바이오매스로 이용하는 혐기성 소화로부터 바이오가스를 생산하였다. 최적의 혐기성 배양조건을 확립하기 위해 슬러지는 $-70^{\circ}C$에서 20 min 동안 냉동 전처리를 하였다. 대조군과 비교했을 때 수소와 메탄가스는 각각 2.7배와 3.4배 증가한 667.28 mL/L와 3420.24 mL/L를 생산하였다. 냉동 전처리한 슬러지의 초기 pH 최적 조건은 7.0이었고, 다시마 바이오매스의 초기 pH 최적 조건은 8.0이었으며 알칼리 조건에서 보다 산성 조건에서 바이오가스 생산량이 크게 감소하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 슬러지의 냉동 전처리와 바이오매스 및 슬러지의 최적 pH 조건에서 최대 643.73 mL/L의 수소와 4291.6 mL/L의 메탄가스를 생산하였다. 이는 대조군과 비교했을 때 각각 2.6배와 4.3배 증가한 생산량이었다. 또한 최적 조건의 5-L 회분식 혐기성 배양에서 바이오가스의 생산량을 측정한 결과 기질에 포함된 다시마에 의해 생산될 수 있는 최대 생산량은 수소 1605.03 mL/L와 메탄가스 4593.71 mL/L로 확인되었다.

다양한 자외선(UVB) 처리조건에 의한 목이버섯의 품질 특성 (Quality Characteristics of Ear Mushroom by Various UVB (Ultraviolet B) Treatment Conditions)

  • To examine the possibility of ear mushroom (EM) as a source of natural vitamin D, the UVB (ultraviolet B) was treated according to sample drying status, drying methods before UVB treatment and harvest time. And then, vitamin D2 and ergosterol contents were investigated. According to the sample drying status, the vitamin D2 contents of fresh and freeze-dried EM (whole) increased to 4,634.4~4,780.9 ㎍/100 g D.W. (dry weight) under UVB dose 52.5~70.0 kJ/㎡ and above 18,693.1 ㎍/100 g D.W. under above 105 kJ/㎡, respectively. By drying methods before UVB treatment, vitamin D2 contents of EM powder (below 500 ㎛) that dried in the vinyl house and freeze-dryer increased to 4,886.2~5,132.9 ㎍/100 g D.W. under above 105 kJ/㎡ and 17,103.7 ㎍/100 g D.W. under 70 kJ/㎡, respectively. Ergosterol content decreased with increasing UVB dose in all experiments. According to the harvest time, vitamin D2 content under UVB dose 210 kJ/㎡ showed marked difference and in order of June, July, August, October and April. As for the results, the optimum harvest time, drying method before UVB treatment, sample size, UVB dose for the EM contained high vitamin D2 content were June, freeze-drying, whole, and 105 kJ/㎡, respectively.

토끼 실험적 골 결손부에 이식한 이종 이식골편의 처리방법에 따른 신생골 형성능력 비교 (Comparison of Efficacy of New Bone Formation According to Implant Treatment in Xenograft Transplanted for Experimental Bone Defects of Rabbits)

  • Bone graft had been widely investigated for reconstruction of bone defects or acceleration of bone healing in orthopedics, neurosurgery and dental surgery. Autograft is the golden standard of bone graft but it is associated with donor site morbidity and is restricted in quantity. Xenograft has been researched an alternative method for autograft. The purpose of this study was to investigate the efficacy of new bone formation according to three different preparations of implants on rabbit xenograft. Cortical bone xenografts which made from bovine femoral cortical bone were treated by freezing, freeze-drying or defat-freezing implant preparations. They were transplanted into proximal diaphyseal shaft of bifibulae of 15 rabbits which were divided into three groups according to their implant preparation method. The fibulae transplantations were evaluated radiographically and examined osteoblast activity by bone alkaline phosphatase (BALP) biweekly for 16 weeks to observe new bone formation and union of the experimental defected region. New bone formation was observed in 7 cases in freeze-drying and defat-freezing group, respectively. Union of proximal and distal end of defected region, which was considered as success of bone graft, was observed in 4 cases (40%; 4 of 10 cases), respectively. In freezing group, new bone formation was observed in 6 cases but, there is no union observed. BALP value was increased over twice after two weeks of graft procedure in all union cases of freeze-drying and defat-freezing group (two of five animals, respectively) then gradually decreased to 16th week. In non-union cases, there is no significant variation in BALP value. Defat-freezing or freeze-drying preparations of implants are more efficacious in new bone formation than freezing method on rabbit xenograft. While it is difficult to propose which is superior between defat-freezing and freeze-drying, defatting of implants may enhance new bone formation in xenograft.

자색고구마로부터 붉은 색소 농축물의 추출 및 그 색소 분말의 제조 특성 (Extraction of Natural Red Color Pigment Concentrate and Manufacturing Characteristics of Pigment Powder from Purple-Fleshed Sweet Potato)

  • Pigment concentrates with violet-red color and sweet taste were obtained from purple-fleshed sweet potato(PFSP) using ethyl alcohol and water. Extract from general potato(GP) were used as a control. The relative stability of PFSP pigment concentrate(PFSPPC) in a storage test over 15 days was confirmed in the order of dark > fluorescence > sun-light irradiation. The relative stability of GP pigment concentrate(GPPC) in a storage test over 15 days was confirmed in the order of sun-light > fluorescence > dark storage. The RRP of PFSPPC was higher than that of GPPC, but the color strength of GPPC was 1/2 that of PFSPPC. Treatment of PFSPPC with aluminum potassium sulfate(0.2~0.3%, w/w) best improved its stability. The improved RRPs of PFSPPC were 45.16~47.31% in sun light irradiation, 55.91~60.22% in fluorescence irradiation, and 76.34~75.97% in dark storage conditions. In substituting aluminum potassium sulfate for chitosan, an amount of 0.2~0.3%(w/w) was suitable, giving similar results in improving pigment stability for all concentrates tested. Also, freeze-dried PFSPPC powder was manufactured as a substitute for dextrin, and also as a substitute for chitosan to the extent of 0.25%(w/w). The results of storage stabilite for freeze-dried PFSPPC and GPPC powder over 15 days, irradiation were, PRRs of 74.47~89.36% and 61.54~76.92%, respectively. The stability improving effect of freeze dried PFSPPC powder was confirmed by the results of storage experiments at various conditions. The use of freeze-dried PFSPPC powder was therefore confirmed to be an effective treatment for general foods.
