Zr 기지 비정질 합금 스크랩의 비정질 형성능 및 기계적 성질에 미치는 재용해 횟수와 탄소 함량의 영향 (The Effect of Remelting Cycles and Its Carbon Content on the Glass Forming Ability and Mechanical Properties of the Zr-based Amorphous Alloy Return Scrap)

  • A commercially used Zr-based amorphous alloy was recycled and the effects of introducing carbon during recycling on the glass forming ability and mechanical properties of the alloy were investigated. The initial carbon content used in this study was 229ppm. The carbon content was gradually increased as the number of recycling iterations was increased and after the $4^{th}$ recycling it rapidly increased. As return scrap was recycled, polygonal particles precipitated, and they were identified as ZrC. The amount of the precipitates also increased with recycling. Tg, Tx and ${\Delta}T$ of the base alloy were 615 K, 696 K and 81 Kr respectively and they changed to 634 K, 706 K and 72 K after the $10^{th}$ recycling. The decrease of the ${\Delta}T$ value indicates deterioration of the glass forming ability. Hardness was not changed during three iterations of recycling but after the $4^{th}$ recycling it significantly increased. This is ascribed to an increase of amount of the hard particles, namely ZrC.

水文化學的 資料를 통한 花崗岩質 流域의 化學的 風化特性에 關한 硏究 (Hydrogeochemical Research on the Characteristic of Chemical Weathering in a Granitic Gatchment)

  • 본 연구소는 소규모 유역에서 하천수와 지하수의 溶存이온 특성을 통하여 각종 이온들의 溶脫特性과 粘土鑛物의 형성환경, 化學的 風化量 등을 추정해 본 것이다. 필자는 본 연구를 위하여 1990년 10월 부터 1년간에 걸쳐 유량측정 및 수질분석을 실시하였고 야면의 4개 지점에서 점토광물을 분석하였다. 분석결과, 암석의 풍화에 의한 溶存物質은 전체의 약 39$%$ 미만이었고, 유역내의 풍화층에 집적되는 이온은 $H^+$, $K^+$, Fe, Mn 등이었다. 물질의 계절적인 收支特性과 水文學的 자료로 볼 때, 여름에는 Kaolinite가 열역학적 측면에서 안정된 점토광물이며, 2:1 점토광물도 Kaolinite로 변형될 가능성이 높다. 풍화에 유출되는 2차광물의 형성과 식생의 영향이 비교적 적은 $Na^+$를 사용하여 화학적 풍화량을 추정한 결과, 본 유역의 화강암이 1년에 화학적으로 풍화되는 양은 약 31.31g/$m^2$정도인 것으로 밝혀졌다.

  • The need for improved fuel efficiency, weight reduction has motivated the automotive industry to focus on aluminum alloys as a replacement for steel-based alloy. To cope with the needs for high structural rigidity with low weight, it is forecasted that substantial amount of cast components will be replaced by tubular parts which are mainly manufactured by the extruded aluminum tubes. The extrusion process is utilized to produce tubes and hollow sections. Because there is no weld seam, the circumferential mechanical properties may be uniform and advantageous for hydroforming. However the possibility of the occurrence of a surface defect is very high, especially due to the temperature increase from forming at high pressure when it comes out of the bearing and the roughness of the bearing, which cause the surface defects such as the dies line and pick-up. And when forming a extruded aluminum tube, the free surface of the tube becomes rough with increasing plastic strain. This is well known as orange peel phenomena and has a great effect not only on the surface quality of a product but also on the forming limit. In an attempt to increase the forming limit of the tubular specimen, in the present paper, surface asperities generated during the hydroforming process are polished to eliminate the weak positions of the tube which lead to a localized necking. It is shown that the forming limit of the tube can be considerably improved by simple method of polishing the surface roughness during hydroforming. And also the extent of the crack propagation caused by dies lines generated during the extrusion process is evaluated according to the deformed shape of the tube.

바이오제닉 아민 생성균과 분해균이 김치의 품질 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of biogenic amine forming and degrading bacteria on quality characteristics of Kimchi)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 발효 기간 동안 멸치 액젓과 새우젓으로 담근 배추 김치로부터 분리 동정된 바이오제닉 아민(biogenic amines, BA) 생성 유산균 단독 스타터 혹은 BA 분해 유산균과의 혼합 스타터로 제조한 김치의 품질 특성을 조사하고자 하였다. 발효가 진행될수록 새우젓 보다 멸치 액젓을 첨가하여 제조한 김치에서 유산균수, 산도 및 BA 함량이 높게 나타났다. 유산균이 생산하는 BA의 종류 및 생성량은 균종 보다는 균주에 의존적이었다. 분리 균주 중에서 가장 많은 양의 카다베린, 히스타민, 푸트레신 및 티라민은 각각 Leuconostoc mesenteroides MBK32, Lactobacillus brevis MBK34, Lactobacillus curvatus MBK31 및 Enterococcus faecalis SBK31로부터 생산되었다. BA 생성능과 분해능이 있는 스타터는 김치 내 유산균의 증식 속도와 산 생성능에 중요한 역할을 하였다. BA 생성균 단독 스타터에 의해 증가된 김치의 BA 함량은 BA 분해균과의 혼합 스타터에 의해 효과적으로 감소되었다.

  • The focus of this study is placed on the reduction of springback in the separator plate which is one of main components of the MCFC stack. Firstly, the current design (round punch and die) is accessed using FEM to find out how much it springs back after the forming operation. In this study, the two kinds of modified designs are proposed in order to reduce the amount of springback. With the linear punch in the first modified design the amount of springback rather increased. In the second modified design of die with holes, the amount of springback decreased drastically due to the effect of compression at the die corner.

S-레일 시험을 통한 자동차용 판재의 스프링백 특성 평가 (Evaluation of the Springback Characteristics for Automotive Steel Sheets by the S-Rail Forming Test)

  • This study is aimed to evaluate the springback characteristics of automotive steel sheets through the S-rail forming test and to find the process condition under which springback can be reduced. Die set for the S-rail test has been made according to the dimension of the NUMISHEET '96 benchmark model. Experiment and finite element analysis have been performed on two kinds of automotive steel sheets: mild steel, SPCEN and high strength steel, SPRC. The test results show that the amount of springback is larger on the high strength steel SPRC than on the mild steel SPCEN, and decreases with increasing blank holding force as the case of material flow. And the reduction of friction has the effect of lowering the blank holding force in view of punch force and material flow. It is shown that the strain distribution over the whole specimen and along the specified sections calculated from the finite element analysis coincides with the measured data except local differences.

  • Drawbead formulation is the first process together with a binder wrap process in a sheet metal forming process. The purpose of a drawbead is to control the flow of the metal into the die in panel press forming. To simulate the drawbead formation process, an elasto-plastic finite element formulation is derived from the equilibrium equation an drelated boundary conditions considering the proper contact conditons. The developed finite element program is applied to drawbead formation in the plane strain condition. The simulation of drawbead formation produces the distribution fo stress and strain along the bead and the resultant elongation of the sheet in the cavity region with respect to various cavity dimensions of the sheet as well as the punch force of a drawbead and the amount of draw-in with respect to the stroke fo a drawbead. The numerical resutls provides the fundamental information as a boundary condition to analyze the complex binder wrap phenomena and panel press forming in simple way.

  • In order to develope springback control technology for high-strength steel sheets, some studies have been conducted: dome stretching test, stepped s-rail forming and springback measurement, and optimally shaped initial blank design. First, to find out the formability of TRIP60, dome stretching test was performed. Next the stepped s-rail die, which was designed to form a channel type panel with large twist and wall curl, was manufactured and used to know the effect of controlling forming variables, such as blank holding force and flange amount on the springback. Furthermore, new measurement method of the springback was introduced to define wall curl and twist in geometrically complex panels. Finally, the optimally shaped initial blank was employed to verify one of the best ways to control the springback in channel type, high strength sheet panels.

알루미늄 판재의 다단계 드로잉에 있어서 원통컵의 치수 정밀도 비교 (Dimensional Accuracy of Cylindrical Cups in Multi-Stage Drawing of Aluminum Sheet Metal)

  • Deep drawing of cylindrical cups is one of the most fundamental and important processes in sheet metal forming. Circular cups are widely used in industrial fields such as automobile and electronic appliances. Some of these cups are formed by a one-stage process, others such as battery cases and beverage cans are made by a multi-stage process. In the current study the multi-stage deep drawing of aluminum sheet metal is examined. The process consists of two deep drawing operations followed by two ironing operations. The press die, which can be used for the four-stage forming process, was manufactured allowing punch and die components to be easily changed for various experiments. The rolling direction of both the sheet and the drawn cups was always positioned toward the horizontal x-direction on the die face to minimize experimental errors during the progressive forming. The dimensional accuracy of the cylindrical cups formed at each stage and the earing defect due to the anisotropy of sheet were investigated. The influence of anisotropy on the thickness distribution was also examined. Both the thickness and the outer diameter of the cups were measured and compared for each set of experimental conditions. It was found that the dimensional accuracy of cups rapidly improves by employing the ironing process and also by increasing the amount of ironing.

연삭 휠 형상 복합가공시스템의 구조 안전성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Structural Safety of Integrated Machine for Grinding Wheel Forming)

  • This study evaluated the structural safety of a heavy-duty integrated machine for grinding wheel forming. Structural analysis was performed to evaluate the structural safety of the base. The base was designed by dividing the single base and detachable base. The analysis conditions were applied to the own weight and the load of component parts. From the structural analysis results, although the stress of the detachable base was decreased, the amount of deformation was increased. If the deformation of the detachable base decreases, it is expected to be safer than the single base.
