인류는 끊임없이 도구를 만들어 사용하였다. 이것은 인류의 역사가 창조적으로 유지되고 발달되어 왔다는 것을 말한다. 인간은 보다 더 나은 삶을 영위하기 위하여 문명적 발전과 더불어 미적 욕구의 충족을 위한 조형성 추구 등 문화적 개발에도 끊임없이 노력해 왔다. 규방용품은 지극히 여성적이고 한국적인 정서를 담고 있으며 한 문화, 예술의 한 장르로서도 평가 되고 있다. 규방공예는 당시의 사회적, 문화적, 종교적 배경을 바탕으로 독자적이고 독특한 조형미를 형성되어 있으며, 여인들의 벗이라고 할 수 있는 침선구는 연인들의 희 노 애 락 속에서 삶의 모습과 정신세계가 문화적 깊이를 갖는 예술적 정서를 나타내고 있다. 여인들의 시대적 삶의 바탕으로 동고동락했던 침선구의 조형적 이미지, 융합적 결합 및 조화를 통한 장신구로 연관하여 재현시킴으로써 보다 구체적이고 현대적인 감각을 표현할 수 있으리라 의도하여 출발 그 가능성을 다각적으로 모색코자 하였다. 이와 같이 여인의 체취와 정신적 염원이 담긴 규방용품 중 침선구 중심으로 그 특성과 조형성, 융합적 조화, 단아함, 섬세함, 미적 아름다움을 재발견하고 전통 문화 예술의 우수성과 미적 가치를 장신구로 재인식 할 수 있는 계기가 되길 기대한다.

It is very signigicant to study a dominant drift of the contemporary formative art. And it's research not only gives us a great pleasure of study but also will be a big help for designers to study how the dominant drift of the contemporary art has developed thereafter, and what it has influenced upon the following formative movement of it. In this sense I think I cannot emphasize it too strong that I gave a subtitle 'Especially analyzed in War and Peace' do my paper because we can find a real aspect of the formative movement rather by sociological point of view than by formative art itself. In this sense, 1 selected Art Deoo as a thesis of research among other things because Art Deco developed socially in respond to general pressure to adapt to modem World, specially, was a stage in an already burgeoning revolution in the decorative arts. Through this sociological point of view on Art Deco I found lots of things worthwhile to research it Art Deco, which I think shows us a special aspect of the sandwich culture between both world wars in Europe, played the important role of a bridge likning its peculiar style with those of contemporary arts in Europe. In this paper the sociological research of Art Deco style will reveal what the European's emotions meant in the socio-psychological circumstances of Deco between both world wars, and where the peculiarity of Art Deco style came from, and especially why the colors of Art Deco was so gorgeous as called 'color for color's sake'. I tried to put the importance of research of Art Deco largely on the sociological or socio-psychological points of view not on the only formative viewpoints. I could draw a conclusion that Art Deco has a contradictive duplicity in its style that can be expressible in a word like 'naivety in gorgeousness, simplicity in complexity, orderliness in confusion, and peacefulness in noisiness'.

한 시대의 삶과 문화를 담고 있는 도자공예는 우리 민족의 문화를 대표하는 문화재중의 하나로써 한국의 미와 문화의 특징을 보여준다. 역사적 관점에서도 도자공예보다 긴 전통을 소유한 문화재는 없으며, 쓰임새도 도자공예처럼 우리 주변에 널리 분포하는 기물(器物)은 없다. 그러나 현재 사용하고 있는 교과서의 대부분이 도자공예에 관해 감상 작품만을 예시하는 것에 그치기 때문에 구체적인 지도가 불가능하며 우리나라만이 가지고 있는 독특한 도예기법을 이해하기 어려운 실정이다. 현행 교과서 전통문화 수용방식의 특징은 전통문화가 교육내용의 중심 부분으로서가 아니라 주변 요소로 다루어지고 있고, 전통문화에 대한 깊이 있는 접근이 이루어지지 못하고 있으며 중등학교 과정에서 도자공예의 중요성을 이해 할 수 있는 기회는 거의 없다. 도자공예교육을 통해 학생들은 우리 고유의 문화를 이해하고 평면과 입체 표현을 통하여 조형미술을 경험할 수 있게 하여야 한다. 또한 학생들은 이런 다양한 이해와 경험을 자신의 삶 속에서 새롭게 표현해보고 생활에 적용함으로써 새로운 도예문화를 창조할 수 있도록 지도해야한다.

현대의 도자 조형은 순수 조형사고에 의해 보다 신선하고 개성적인 조형물의 개념으로 넓게 확장되어가고 있으며 다양한 요구에 의해 개성과 취향을 만족시킬 수 있는 디자인 개발이 이루어지고 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 우리의 생활전반에 정서적인 기여를 할 수 있는 조형물을 제시하고자 입체주의의 표현양상을 도입하는 과정에서 주어진 대상을 복수시점으로 감지하고도 2차원적인 평면에 표현한 입체주의 시대 회화의 한계를 넘어 입체감과 공간감의 표현을 위해 조형적 측면에서 접근하여 제작하였다. 따라서 연구자는 작품을 제작하기에 앞서 20C 미술계의 커다란 전환점이었던 입체주의의 표현 양상과 현대 도예의 영역확장에 대한 선이해가 중요하다고 판단되어 이에 대한 접근을 시도하였다. 위의 연구를 통하여 기존개념에서 탈피해 새로운 관점에서 접근해보니 창의적이며 실용성을 겸비한 개성적인 조형물로서 새로운 가능성이 엿보였다. 이는 생활 속의 예술로 도자 조형의 영역을 확대시켜 연구대상으로서 현대도예의 한 분야가 될 수 있으리라 생각된다.

리인커네이션의 개념은 환생이라는 의미로 번역할 수 있다. 우리의 생활 속에 밀착된 물질과 정신적 요소를 조형 형식으로 탄생시킨다는 것으로 마치 불교와 도교 사상의 윤회와 같은 개념으로 설명할 수 있다. 보잘 것 없는 것이라 할지라도 새로운 가치와 의미를 부여함으로써 그 오브제는 빛날 수 있으며 이런 윤회관은 물질에 대한 새로운 예술관을 의미한다고 할 수 있다. 따라서 리인커네이션은 물질과 의미들의 조형적 가능성이며 예술의 분자로서의 에너지원이 될 수 있다. 리인커네이션적 사고로 활발히 활동한 그룹은 팝아트이며 그 중심에 앤디워홀이 있다. 워홀은 예술과 삶을 이분법으로 생각하지 않고 리인커네이션적 발상과 유희를 시도했다. 팝아트이후 우리나라에서도 디자인과 광고에서 실험적인 리인커네이션 작업들이 이루어지고 있다. 현대문화사회는 인터넷과 디지털의 매체가 리인커네이션적 사고와 활동을 확산시키고 있으며, 그런 리인커네이션은 예술의 보편적 철학으로 인정되고 있다. 특히 지속가능한 디자인의 실천적 대안으로서의 리인커네이션은 우리에게 시사하는 바가 매우 크다. 물질이라는 오브제를 자유롭게 차용하고 변형시킴은 새로운 조형시대를 예고하고 있으며 우리 모두는 그러한 즐거움을 기꺼이 즐겨야할 것이다.

This study examined the characteristics of furniture design in the early Modernism that occurred in the early 20th Century through the relationship with modern arts. The furniture design of the early Modernism was established in the early 20th Century based on the simplicity and honesty of the Art and Crafts Movement and Anti-Historicism in Art Nouveau. During this period, the necessity of mass production became critical due to the radical industrialization and new social demands. In such periodic stream, the furniture design of the early modernism pursued simplicity and geometric beauty based on functionalism. The efforts to discover the fundamental structure of furniture were intensified. It was not limited to furniture design but was also exercised in the huge periodic transformation that progressed in every field of art including architecture. The Modernism art has also been connected to Cubism and spread into an abstract direction. While questioning the potential essence and progressing the study on genuine characteristics, the Modernism art tried to return things into their substantial looks and reorganize them conceptually, rather than reproducing external objects. The furniture that was secondary to a part of architecture and interior accessory transcended its decorative purpose. It pursued the structure to follow its fundamental purpose as furniture. Such tendency corresponded to the direction that Post-Modernism followed. Likewise, both art and design had the revivable and abstract characteristics based on the identical objective in ideology. For this reason, the formative and geometric characteristics of the early modernism furniture design have a mutual relationship with modern arts. Particularly, such tendency intensified and progressed through the Bauhaus in Germany. Based on such facts, this study proved that the early Modernism furniture design in the 20th Century tended to appear in common arts including the art and design according to the social demand of the huge periodic stream. Furthermore, the ideology that was adopted in art and design, as well as its formative characteristics, was examined through the mutual relationship of modern arts and design.

It was proved the practical use of the unique traditional Korean paper through the previous researches. The purpose of this study was to suggest the adequate application which is making various applied patterns in the fashion products so as to contribute to textile, fashion, and Korean paper industry. Six kinds of vests with the same fashion material using the Korean traditional paper were manufactured in order to investigate the images of materials in case of wearing them on the actual human bodies. As the results of image assessment for the materials and the factor analysis, 'classical', 'natural', 'Korean traditional', 'rural' and 'luxury' images were presented as the representative image of the Korean traditional paper material. Making repeated patterns of stripes and zigzag by sewing-machine stitches showed the natural effect on Korean traditional paper. Well-matched harmony was shown between holes made by the needle in sewing and slits torn by the tension to the needle and the thread. Especially, transparency by irregular holes formed by artificial frictional washing could shown special formative arts harmoniously with semi-transparency of Korea traditional paper and touch of sewing yarn. After the unripe persimmon dyeing, holes made by the needle became more hard and tight. The changes were no longer shown by the artificial frictional washing and then fixed. As the result of applying the Korean traditional paper fashion materials with various patterns for the basic formed garments, it was shown that the common and simple garments were changed the garments with special formation which could be found on the art garments due to the creative touch and formative arts using the Korea traditional paper fashion material. A variety of formative application by means of the developed samples was suggested to enlarge the practicality. As the result of this study, it was discovered that the possibility and application of fashion goods through the developed samples made of Korean traditional paper.

Based on the background of the times and theoretical background that influenced the formation of the works of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, one of representative architects of Art Nouveau, this study examined the formative characteristics of furniture design by period. In addition, his influences on the modern furniture design were also reviewed. In the latter half of the 19th century, due to Arts and Crafts Movement, the popularity of Art Nouveau was not high in England and due to conservative and traditional culture, Mackintosh had difficult time to display his ability in England. On the other hand, because Glasgow, one of industrial cities located in the center of Scotland where he had grown was an open and modern city, Mackintosh could win international fame in architecture and furniture design thanks to the atmosphere. Furthermore, it is found from the formative characteristics of his works that Historicism, Arts and Crafts Movement and Japanese culture and the influences of Continent became his theoretical background. His works creatively combined the noble design of Scotland and Art Nouveau to be considered a simple and pure style with a straight tendency and his working period can be divided into Beginning, Middle and Last Period according to the formative characteristics of furniture design. His constituting principle that decorated the structure influenced the Wien Secession's activities to form Wiener Werkstaette and this finally became the important background to develop to 'Modernism Design' through Art Deco and Bauhaus.

This study aims to figure out any possible expanded expression methods and diverse formative effects in fashion design by recognizing the importance of objects that suggest new paradigms as a means of expressing aesthetic consciousness in contemporary fashion and analogizing the formative characteristics of objects used in fashion and their significance. Accordingly, the study focuses on analyzing and interpreting objects introduced to fashion design with a formative view by substituting the concept of an object that has taken an important position in the contemporary arts for fashion. This study further aims to examine the concept of objects by trend and their characteristics within a syntactical structure and come up with a standard for classification of objects and a framework of analysis from cubism in the early 20th century when the concept of an object began to appear in arts to Dadaism, Surrealism, Pop art, Land art, Environmental art and the present time. Finally, the study aims to examine the status of objects in fashion and the relationships between fashion and objects through analyses on fashion objects and to suggest new perspectives and approaches to interpret the contemporary fashion in the 21st century.

Modern clothes are part of formative arts and express experimentation and originality. This tendency is especially prominent in structural fashion. This study set out to analyze structural fashion in various aspects, examining and analyzing the expressive and formative characteristics of Deformation and contribute to the development of creative fashion design. The approach of peer debriefing was used with three fashion experts to identify structural clothes in the women's haute couture collections from a total of 24 seasons from S/S of 2008 to F/W of 2019. The clothes with Deformation characteristics were then identified to analyze expressive and formative characteristics. The expressive characteristics of Deformation in structural clothes were exaggeration, distortion, and recombination. Exaggeration was expressed with exaggerated sizes, forms, and excessive use. Distortion was expressed with distorted forms and functions and through optical illusions. Recombination was expressed with the recombination of forms and roles. The formative characteristics of Deformation were maximum, playfulness, and unfamiliarity. The study connected the expressive characteristics to the formative ones and examined them simultaneously, finding that "distortion" and "playfulness" represented the expressive and formative characteristics, respectively. The characteristics of Deformation are expressed in various ways in structural fashion. If they are considered, they will make valuable contributions to creative ideas.
