Linear pulse Motor(LPM) are used a field where smooth linear motion is required, and it's position accuracy higher than that of a lead. According to the advantage such as simplicity of mechanical frame, high reliability, precise open_loop operation, low inertia etc LPM is applied largely where it have made motor of this kind more and more attractive in many application areas such as factory automation and high speed positioning. This paper is researched to analyze for thrust force characteristic of hybrid LPM. Both the thrust and normal force are very sensitive to the airgap and tooth pitches of the force and platen. To find the optimal design parameter on the hybrid LPM for the embroidery machine. For the field analysis, the finite element method(FEM) is employed for calculating the force. The reluctance models will be used the magnetic permeance of airgap under static-conditions. The forces between forcer and platen have been calculated using the virtual work mathod.
We construct a solar eruption model with a background solar wind by performing three-dimensional zero-beta magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) simulation. The initial configuration of a magnetic field is given by nonlinear force-free field (NLFFF) reconstruction applied to a flux emergence simulation. The background solar wind is driven by upflows imposed at the top boundary. We analyzed the temporal development of the Lorentz force at the flux tube axis. Based on the results, we demonstrate that a solar eruption is caused by the imbalance between magnetic pressure gradient force and magnetic tension force. We conclude that this imbalance is produced by a weak but continuously existing solar wind above an active region.
We derived a theory of increasing electromagnetic force which acts on arc column for reducing arcing time between electric contacts. A simulation method of arc velocity is presented by calculating blowout force using 3D FEM and drag force acting on arc column. This paper proposes 3 types arc extinguish chamber of different flux path and presents the specific electromagnetic force and arc velocity of each model by the analysis. The result of analysis and experimental proposes the prediction method of arc time when all conditions are same except external magnetic field.

High-Speed Centrifugal Compaction Process (HCP) is a wet compacting method, in which powders are compacted under a huge centrifugal force. The HCP was well applied to small alumina specimens, but the compact easily cracked when we applied the HCP to other materials. We clarified how the cracks introduced and found that the formation of such a flow pattern was related to the Colioli's force in the centrifugal field.
Vibrational properties of dopamine neutral species in powder state have been studied by means of the normal mode analysis based on the force constants obtained from the density functional calculation at B3LYP level and the results of Fourier trans form Raman and infrared spectroscopic measurements. Ab initio calculation at MP2 level shows that the trans conformer of dopamine has higher electronic energy about 1.4 kcal/mol than those of the gauche+ and the gauche-conformers, and two gauche conformers have almost the same energies. Free energies calculated at HF and B3LYP levels show very similar values for three conformers within 0.3 kcal/mol. Empirical force field has been constructed from force constants of three conformers, and refined upon ex-perimental Raman spectrum of dopamine to rigorous values. The major species of dopamine neutral base in the powder state is considered a trans conformer as shown in the crystallographic study of dopamine cationic salt.
The high-frequency force-balance (HFFB) technique and its subsequent improvements are reviewed in this paper, including a discussion about nonlinear mode shape corrections, multi-force balance measurements, and using HFFB model to identify aeroelastic parameters. To apply the HFFB technique in engineering practice, various validation studies have been conducted. This paper presents the results from an analytical validation study for a simple building with nonlinear mode shapes, three experimental validation studies for more complicated buildings, and a field measurement comparison for a super-tall building in Hong Kong. The results of these validations confirm that the improved HFFB technique is generally adequate for engineering applications. Some technical limitations of HFFB are also discussed in this paper, especially for higher-order mode response that could be considerable for super tall buildings.
An electrostatic ink jet head can be used for manufacturing processes of large display systems and printed circuit boards (PCB) as well as inkjet printers because an electrostatic field provides an external force which can be manipulated to control sizes of droplets. The existing printing methods such as thermal bubble and piezo inkjet heads have shown difficulties to control the ejection of the droplets for printing applications. Thus, the new inkjet head using the electrostatic force has been proposed in this study. In order to prove the theory of the developed electrostatic ink jet head, the applicable and basic theory has been studied using distilled water and water with sodium dodecyl surfate (SDS). Also, a numerical analysis has been performed to calculate the intensity of the electrostatic field using the Maxwell's equation. Furthermore, experiments have been carried out using a downward glass capillary with outside diameter of $500{\mu}m$. The gravity, surface tension, and electrostatic force have been analyzed with high voltages of 0 to 5kV. It has been observed that the droplet size decreases and the frequency of the droplet formation and the velocity of the droplet ejection increase with increasing the intensity of the electrostatic field. The results of the experiments have shown good agreement with those of numerical analysis.
Charged micro-particles are widely used as the key components for many electrical applications such as an e-paper, a touch panel, a printer toner and an electronic ink. Among them, the e-paper is an emerging reflective type display using the charged particles that has the advantages of the extremely low power consumption and sunlight readability. To create images on the e-paper, we confine black positively-charged and white negatively-charged particles between bottom and top electrodes and selectively apply the electric field. When the Coulomb force by an applied electric field is greater than the adhesion force between the charged particle and the electrode, the particles' transition happens resulting in the change of color between black and white. Therefore, the adhesion force is a very important factor for designing and estimating e-paper's operation. In this study, we constructed a basic model for particle's transition and an adhesion force equation describing particle's transition with three different forces: electrostatic image force, Van der Waals force and gravitational force. The simulation results showed that the gravitational force is negligible for the interesting range for the charge and the radius, and the adhesion force can be strongly dependent on the particle's charge and radius.
A 20 mm diameter of small 5-D.O.F. force sensor has been developed for applications in MR-field Optical intensity modulation was adopted for transducing to miniaturize the sensor structure. For its accurate sensing of 5-D.O.F. force/moment, the elastic detecting module was designed to respond independently to each force or moment component. And for small size, two optical transducing modules of 2-D.O.F. and 3-D.O.F. were designed and integrated with the detecting module where optical fibers were arranged in parallel to make the sensor small. It is confirmed by calibration test that the detecting modules deforms linearly and independently to the input force. The results of evaluating test show that the range and resolution of forces are ${\pm}4$ N and 0.94~7.1 mN and the range and resolution of moments are ${\pm}120N{\cdot}mm$ and $0.023{\sim}0.034N{\cdot}mm$.
