CFD 계산을 통한 순환유동층 보일러 내 분산판 노즐 특성이 클링커 생성에 미치는 영향 고찰 (Study of Nozzle Characteristics on Clinker Formation in a CFBC Boiler with CFD Calculation)

  • 본 연구에서는 순환유동층 보일러의 운전 중 비유동화 및 완전 베드 봉쇄를 유발할 수 있는, 분산판 위에서 발생되는 클링커에 대하여 그 발생원인을 순수 열 및 유동 측면에서 고찰해 보고자 하였다. 클링커는 그 화학성분 측면에서 실리콘, 철, 칼슘 등의 원소로 구성되어 있다. 비유동화 현상에 대하여 폭넓은 연구가 진행되어 왔으나, 현재까지 그 원인규명이 명확하게 이루어지고 있지는 못하는 현실이다. 본 연구에서는 FLUENT를 사용한 CFD 계산을 통하여 분산판의 노즐 형태와 노즐 배열을 달리하면서(노즐타입 1, 노즐타입 2)유동특성을 파악하여 클링커 발생 원인을 유추하였으며, 열 및 유동 측면에서 클링커 발생을 최소화할 수 있는 노즐 형태 및 배열을 제안(노즐타입 3)하였다.

  • 도장공정에서 발생하는 VOC의 처리를 위한 활성탄-광촉매 복합시스템을 제안하였고, VOC제거성능을 실험적으로 평가하였다. 활성탄 합은 톨루엔 흡착특성에 근거하여 설계하였고, 광촉매 시스템은 $TiO_2/SiO_2$ 유동층 반응기와 $TiO_2$코팅된 필터의 연계시스템으로 설계하였다. 본 활성탄-광촉매 복합시스템은 서로 다른 VOC 화학종 및 농도에 따라 $75\~100\%$에 이르는 VOC제거효율을 보여주었다.

  • Petroleum refineries have been considered as an important emission source for atmospheric volatile hazardous air pollutants(HAPs). The emission source includes petroleum refinery processes and process equipment. The control strategy for volatile HAPs requires emission estimations of these pollutants. However, systematic methods of volatile HAPs emission from petroleum refineries have not yet been established. Accordingly, present study surveyed the estimation method of volatile HAPs emitted from the petroleum refinery processes and process equipment. The emission estimation methods for the petroleum refinery processes are applied for 11 petroleum refining facilities: fluidized catalytic cracking, thermal cracking, moving bed catalytic cracking, compressed engine, blowdown system, vacuum distilled column condensator, natural gas or distilled boiler, natural gas or distilled heater, oil boiler, oil heater and flare. Four emission estimation methods applied for the petroleum refinery process equipment are as follows: average emission factor approach, screening ranges approach, EPA correlation approach and unit-specific correlation approach. The process equipment for which emission factors are available are valves, pump seals, connectors, flanges and open-ended lines.

광촉매가 코팅된 플라스틱 광섬유을 이용한 VOC 광분해반응 (Photodegradation of VOCs by Using TiO$_2$-Coated POF)

  • In this study plastic optical fibers (POFs) were considered as light-transmitting media and substrates for the potential use in photocatalytic environmental purification system. After the characteristics of POFs in terms of light transmittance and absorption were determined at the beginning, the further investigation was performed through the photocatalytic degradation of trichloroethylene (TCE), iso-propanol and etc. with TiO$_2$-coated optical fiber reactor systems (POFR). It is concluded that the use of POFs is preferred to quartz optical fibers (QOFs) since the advantages such as ease of handling, lower cost, relatively reasonable light attenuation at the wavelength of near 400nm can be obtained. Various geometrical reactor shapes have been constructed and applied for the last one and half years. For the use of POF in water phase treatment, however, more detailed scientific and engineering aspects should be envisaged. This case requires a suitable mixture to obtain more stable and innocuous immobilization of photocatalyst on POF. To overcome this disadvantage, metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) was conducted in a fluidized bed to deposit thin films of titania on glass and alumina beads. Those can be used as photocatalysis for the removal of pollutants especially in liquid phases.

열중량 반응기를 이용한 제지슬러지의 연소 특성 (Combustion Characteristic of Paper Sludge Using TGA Reactor)

  • To obtain the preliminary design data for combustion of paper sludges, decomposition characteristics and combustion kinetics of paper sludges reactor have been determined in a TGA reactor. Also, the combustion characteristics of paper sludges have been determined in a fluidized bed reactor. The data obtained from the TGA reactor indicate that dewatering of paper sludge is terminated at temperature below 130${\circ}$C. With heating rate of 20${\circ}$C/min, combustion is terminated at temperature below 340${\circ}$C .The combustion rate is found to be first order with respect to temperature and oxygen concentration. Activation energies for paper wastes are found to be 570, 700, 2600, 4600 Kcal/mole, respectively. The calcination conversions were investigated with the operating temperature and residence time. In this investigation, it was found that calcination conversion was affected by the operating temperature and residence time. The optimum conditions of operating temperature and mean residence time were 850${\circ}$C and 6 minutes of respectively.

  • RDF 연료의 열이용은 2003 폐플라스틱 고형연료 사용에 관한 고시가 나온이후 생산과 이용이 꾸준히 증가하는 추세이며 최근에는 원주, 대구, 부산 등 각 지역의 RDF 생산시설 구축 및 열병합 보일러 건설사업의 추진으로 더욱 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 본 연구는 순환유동층 시범 연소로에서 RDF를 전용으로 연소하여 그 연소특성을 고찰하고 상용 보일러 설계를 위한 연소자료를 축적하는 데 있다. 본 연구는 실험을 위하여 자체로 건설한 순환유동층 보일러에서 수행하였다. 연소 연구에서는 연소특성과 더불어, 환경기술과 연소로의 부식방지에 관한 기술을 고찰하였다. 보일러의 스팀사양은 $300^{\circ}C$와 15ata 이상으로 하였다. 설치된 보일러는 장시간의 운전과 반복 실험을 통해 상용 규모 보일러의 설계에 적용할 연소자료를 확보하였다. 또한 연료특성을 파악하기 위하여 국내에서 생산되는 RPF와 RDF 각 일종을 입수하여 성분을 분석하고 그 특성 자료를 비교하였다. RDF는 순환유동층 보일러에서 뛰어난 연소 효율을 나타내었으며 배연특성도 연소하는 동안 일정하게 배출되었다. 온도나 압력등 연소 변수는 RDF는 연소실험 동한 안정적인 값을 나타내었다. 대부분의 배연물질은 환경기준을 충족할 수 있었다. 다만 HCl의 배출 특성은 환경 규제치를 넘어 섰으며 별도의 배가스 처리기술을 적용하여 환경기준을 맞출 수 있었다.

졸-겔 방법으로 제조된 Ammonium Diuranate 핵연료 분말의 공정장치 변수에 따른 특성 (Characteristics of the Ammonium Diuranate Powders Prepared with Different Experimental Apparatus in Sol-gel Process)

  • This paper describes the spherical ammonium diuranate gel particles which are the intermediated material of the $UO_2$ microsphere for an VHTR(very high temperature reactor) nuclear fuel. The characteristics of the intermediate-ADU gel particles prepared by AWD(ageing, washing, and drying) and FB(fluidized-bed) apparatus were examined and compared in a sol-gel fabrication process. The electrical conductivity of washing filtrate from the FB treating and the surface area of dried-ADU gel particles were higher than those of AWD treating. Also, an internal pore volume in dried-ADU gel particles showed a more decrease in AWD treatment than FB treatment because of decomposition of PVA affected by the washing time. However, the internal microstructures of ADU gel particles were similar regardless of the process variation.

$CO_2/H_2$ 원천분리 SMART 시스템의 수소생산특성 (Hydrogen Generation Characteristics of SMART System with Inherent $CO_2/H_2$ Separation)

  • To check the feasibility of SMART(Steam Methane Advanced Reforming Technology) system, an experimental investigation was performed. A fluidized bed reactor of diameter 0.052m was operated cyclically up to 10th cycle, alternating between reforming and regeneration conditions. FCR-4 catalyst was used as the reforming catalyst and calcined limestone(domestic, from Danyang) was used as the $CO_2$ absorbent. Hydrogen concentration of 98.2% on a dry basis was reached at $650^{\circ}C$ for the first cycle. This value is much higher than $H_2$ concentration of 73.6% in the reformer of conventional SMR (steam methane reforming) condition. The hydrogen concentration decreased because the $CO_2$ capture capacity decreased as the number of cycles increased. However, the average hydrogen concentration at 10th cycle was 82.5% and this value is also higher than that of SMR. Based on these results, we could conclude that the SMART system can replace SMR system to generate pure hydrogen without HTS (high tempeature shift), LTS (low temperature shift) and $CO_2$ separation process.

컬럼반응조내에서의 고정된 생물막에 의한 농약 4-chloro-2-methylphenoxyacetic acid의 분해 (Degradation of a Pesticide, 4-Chloro-2-methylphenoxyacetic Acid by Immobilized Biofilm in Bench-scale Column Reactors)

  • 과립활성탄(GAC)상에 고정된 세균에 의한 4chloro-2-methylphenoxyacetic acid (MCPA)의 분해가 유통 조건하의 컬럼반응조에서 연구되었다. GAC상에 생물막을 형성시키기 위한 접종으로서 M MCPA를 분해하는 세균의 혼합배양이 사용되었다. 접종하기 전에 GAC에 의한 MCPA의 흡착을 조사 하였으며 접종후 GAC상에 형성된 생물막을 주사전자 현미경으로 관찰하였다. MCPA 분해는 생물막이 형성된 GAC를 포함하는 컬럼반응조의 회분 및 연 속운전 조건하에서 조사되었다. 회분배양에서 MC P PA의 완전분해가 이루어졌다. 연속배양상태에서 분적 인 MCPA의 분해가 일어났으나 분해정도는 기질인 MCPA의 결럼반응조내로 유입속도에 의존 었다.

Degradation of Raffinose Oligosaccharides in Soymilk by Immobilized ${\alpha}$-Galactosidase of Aspergillus oryzae

  • [ ${\alpha}$ ]-Galactosidase was immobilized in a mixture of k-carrageenan and locust bean gum. The properties of the free and immobilized enzyme were then determined. The optimum pH for both the soluble and immobilized enzyme was 4.8. The optimum temperature for the soluble enzymes was $50^{\circ}C$, whereas that for the immobilized enzyme was $55^{\circ}C$. The immobilized enzyme was used in batch, repeated batch, and continuous modes to degrade the raffinose-family sugars present in soymilk. Two hours of incubation with the free and immobilized ${\alpha}$-galactosidases resulted in an 80% and 68% reduction in the raffinose oligo saccharides in the soymilk, respectively. In the repeated batch, a 73% reduction was obtained in the fourth cycle. A fluidized bed reactor was also designed to treat soymilk continuously and the performance of the immobilized ${\alpha}$-galactosidase tested at different flow rates, resulting in a 90% reduction of raffinose-family oligosaccharides in the soymilk at a flow rate 40 ml/h. Therefore, the present study demonstrated that immobilized ${\alpha}$-galactosidase in a continuous mode is efficient for reducing the oligosaccharides present in soymilk, which may be of considerable interest for industrial application.
