FDDO를 이용한 실린더를 지나는 희박기체의 해석 (A Numerical Analysis of Rarefied Flow of Cylinder Using FDDO)

  • The BGK equation, which is the kinetic model equation of Boltzmann equation, is solved using FDDO(finite difference with the discrete-ordinate method) to compute the rarefied flow of monatomic gas. Using reduced velocity distribution and discrete ordinate method, the scalar equation is transformed into a system of hyperbolic equations. High resolution ENO(Essentially Non-Oscillatory) scheme based on Harten-Yee's MFA(Modified Flux Approach) method with Strang-type explicit time integration is applied to solve the system equations. The calculated results are well compared with the experimental density field of NACA0012 airfoil, validating the developed computer code. Next. the computed results of circular cylinder flow for various Knudsen numbers are compared with the DSMC(Direct Simulation Monte Carlo) results by Vogenitz et al. The present scheme is found to be useful and efficient far the analysis of two-dimensional rarefied gas flows, especially in the transitional flow regime, when compared with the DSMC method.

  • Acoustic holography uses Kirchhoff·Helmholtz integral equation and Green's function which satisfies Dirichlet boundary condition Applications of acoustic holography have been taken to the sound field neglecting the effect of flow. The uniform flow, however, changes sound field and the governing equation, Green's function and so on. Thus the conventional method of acoustic holography should be changed. In this research, one possibility to apply acoustic holography to the sound field with uniform flow is introduced through checking for the plane wave in a duct. Change of Green's function due to uniform flow and one method to derive modified form of Kirchhoff·Heimholtz integral is suggested for 1-dimensional sound field. Derivation results show that using Green's function satisfying Dirichlet boundary condition, we can predict sound pressure in a duct using boundary value.

  • This analysis of numerical procedure is prediction of laminar flow and heat transfer at two dimension and steady flow in asymmetric sudden expansion channel. At former study, to analyse the flows with separation, the full Navier-Stokes equation is used, but there are many difficulties to analyse, and although significant progress has been made in the development of efficient computational methods for the Navier-Stokes equations, very large computation times are still required. In case of reward-facing flow, boundary-layer equation is used instead of full Navier-Stokes equation to analyse velocity fields, and result of this numerical analysis is good agreement with the given experimental study. In this case, since the computer time required for the boundary-layer calculation is an order of magnitude less than required for the solution of the full Navier-Stokes equation, this boundary-layer model provides a good approximate solution.

  • In gear-train design, power-flow analysis is a very important process. The method for power-flow analysis apply the power balance equation and torque balance equation to each fundamental circuit. Then, the equation are solved simultaneously to determine the power-flow in planetary gear train. In this paper we perform power-flow analysis of a 6-speed automatic transmission. With this results are used to represent block diagram. In addition, the efficiencies of epicyclic inversion of the 6-speed automatic transmission is obtained.

  • In this paper, Gauss filter function is used to filter the N-S equation and the subgrid-scale Reynold stresses model is introduced to deduce the practical form of LES equation for 2-D case for flow calculation of hydraulic machine. Then the LES equation and its discrete form in computational field are obtained in the body-fitted coordinate system and the numerical calculation program is built. The incompressible turbulent flow in double-flow-conduits-sewage pump impeller is computed by using the abovementioned program, and then the distribution rules of velocity and pressure in flow field are obtained. Based on this, the designs of double-flow-conduits-sewage pump impeller are optimized.

  • Cavitating flow is widely shown in many engineering systems, such as marine propellers, pump impellers, nozzles, injectors, torpedoes, etc. The present work focuses on the numerical analysis of the multiphase flow around the underwater vehicle which was launched from a submarine. The governing equation is the Navier-Stokes equation with a homogeneous mixture mode. The multiphase flow solver uses an implicit preconditioning scheme in curvilinear coordinate. For the code validation, the results from the present work are compared with the existing experimental and numerical results, and a reasonably good agrements are obtained. The multiphase flow around an underwater vehicle is simulated which includes submarine wake effects.

사석제를 투과하는 흐름 (Flow Through Rubble Mound Dike)

  • This study was aimed at determining a regime of flow through rubble mound dike consisted of all sized quarrystons, and deriving a relationship between hydraulic gradient (I) and mean flow velocity (V) through the dike. The analysis was carried out with the data observed after final gap closing of the Haenam Sea dike from May, 6 to May, 14, 1987. The resu]ts are summarized as follows: 1. The regime of flow would be defined as the turbulent flow. 2. As to the relationships, two kinds of formula that are exponential and binomial were obtained. Exponential formula: I=2.099V 1.2888 Binomial formula: I=0.6113V+5.5235V$^2$ 3. Correlation coefficient of the former was 0.824 and that of the latter was 0.821, and the deviations between observed data and estimated were 0.0070 and 0.0064 respectively. 4. Comparing the correlation coefficient, both the equations have the same correlation coefficients, but in case of the deviation the binomial equation was better than the exponential equation. Therefore, the binomial equation is proposed for analyzing the flow through rubble mound dike.

투수층흐름에서의 마찰계수 (Friction Factor of Seepage Flow)

  • 레이놀즈수에 대한 투수층흐름 마찰계수의 관계식을 개발하고자 투수층수조 실험을 실시하였다. 사용된 투수층수조는 물이 거의 수평으로 흐르도록 유도하는 장치이다. 각 구간마다 수두의 변화로 한번의 실험으로 다양한 수리조건을 재현할 수 있는 포괄성을 갖고 있으며, 여러 조의 수리실험을 실시하였다. 보다 광범위한 수리조건을 재현하기 위하여 여러 크기의 골재를 사용하였고 유출량도 다양하게 송출하였다. 기존자료를 이용하여 형상계수 산정식을 개발하였으며, 금번 수조실험의 결과를 이용하여 레이놀즈수가 1부터 600까지의 조건에서 투수층흐름 마찰계수를 구하는 양해법 산정식을 개발하였다. 관측된 마찰계수의 분포경향을 고려하였을 때, 레이놀즈수가 600보다 큰 난류조건에서도 동일 산정식을 사용할 수 있으리라 기대된다.

  • 침투능을 계산하기 위한 공식으로서 Green-Ampt 공식은 식의 간편성과 정확성으로 인하여 많은 연구의 대상이 되어왔다. 그러나 이 공식의 변수인 습윤전선(Wetting Front)에서의 모세관 압력수두항은 연구자에 따라 해석이 많이 다르다. 침투능해석을 위하여 2개 유체의 흐름방정식의 해는 Green-Ampt 공식과 같은 형태를 가지므로서 Green-Ampt 공식의 모세관 압력 수두항을 결정할 수 있게 되었다. 이러한 2개 유체 해석에 의한 침투능 산정공식의 유도는 1개층으로만 구성되어 있는 경우에 이루어 졌으나 특성이 각각 다른 여러 층의 흙으로 구성 되어 있는 경우에는 아직 이루어진 바 없다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 2개 유체의 흐름 해석에 의하여 여러층의 흙인 경우 침투능 산정공식을 유도하였다.

CP-Ti의 동적거동에 미치는 온도의 영향 (Temperature Dependence of Dynamic Behavior of Commercially Pure Titanium by the Compression Test)

  • The mechanical behavior of a commercially pure titanium (CP-Ti) is investigated at high temperature Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB) compression test with high strain-rate. Tests are performed over a temperature range from room temperature to 1000$^{\circ}C$ with interval of 200$^{\circ}C$ and a strain-rate range of 1900 ∼ 2000/sec. The true flow stress-true strain relations depending on temperature are achieved in these tests. For construction of constitutive equation from the true flow stress-true strain relation, parameters for the Johnson-Cook constitutive equation is determined. And the modified Johnson-Cook equation is used for investigation of behavior of flow stress in vicinity of recrystalization temperature. The Modified Johnson-Cook constitutive equation is more suitable in expressing the dynamic behavior of a CP-Ti at high temperature, i.e. about recrystalization temperature.
