  • This paper shows storage life estimation of next IR(infrared) flare material through accelerated degradation tests. Three temperature conditions for the accelerated degradation tests are 55, 65 and $75^{\circ}C$. Six performances of IR flare material are burning time, IR peak/continuous Intensity, total energy of near/mid-IR and color ratio, and they were measured after the tests. Storage life of the IR flare material was estimated through both analyzing the degradation data of those performances and applying distribution-based degradation models to the data. Over 30 years of storage life at $20^{\circ}C$ is estimated in terms of IR peak intensity with reliability 0.99 and confidence level 99 %. Additionally, 10 years of storage period at $21^{\circ}C$ would be equivalent to 68 days of accelerated test at $65^{\circ}C$ from the activation energy in Arrhenius model.

  • This study was performed to develop the flare skirt pattern in CAD system by each of the textile's test. 1 made 28 flare skirts(360$^{\circ}$, length of 60 cm, straight gram at front ST side seam, 28 kind of textiles) and found the changes of skirt length. And I measured thickness, weight, density, drapability and bending in these textiles. Therefore, It analyzed these data and found it regression.

  • In the present work we introduce a new flare activity indicator, MAD and examine its characteristics by analyzing a set of successive three days' observations of a typical active region, AR2372. The computed MAD is compared with conventional activity indicator such as separator. It is found that. (1) MAD traces very well the separator, (2) it. singles out. local discontinuity of magnetic field lines and (3) it. is a good measure of describing the evolutionary status of active region.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of physical properties and grain line of fabrics on the drape properties of the flare skirt. Horizontal section overlap map was obtained by three dimensional Moire Topography, It was concluded drapability of the skirt obtained by the map can be used to determine the ease of the skirt. Grain line such as bias and lengthwise direction showed the difference of quality of the drape at the hem line; skirt made by bias direction showed evenly distributed flare and effective for the aesthetic point view. No difference was observed between cotton and polyester fabrics probably due to the similar characteristics of the fabrics.

  • Theoretical analysis using finite element method are peformed in order to clarify the formation of the flare-shape defect for multi-step tube sinking process. The parameters of concern were the friction between the tube and the die, and geometrical parameters, such as the die inclination angle, the diameters of the die entrance and exit, and the curvature at the corner of the die exit. The effect of the curvature at the comer of the die exit is dominant for determining the flare-shape defect. In order to minimize the flare-shape defect the curvature at the corner of the die exit should be increased up to a certain level(120mm). Using three-step tube sinking die sets which have different curvatures at the comer of the die exit, several numbers of tests were performed and its results are compared with that of theoretical analysis.

  • We have intensively carried out numerical calculations on flare predictions from the solar activity data for photospheric sunspots, chromospheric flare and plages, coronal X-ray intensities and 2800MHz radio fluxes, by using multilinear regression method. Intensities of solar flares for the next day have been predicted from the solar data between 1977-1982 and 1993-1996. Firstly, we have calculated flare predictions with the multilinear regression method, by using separate solar data in growth and decay phase of sunspot area and magnetic field strength from the whole data on solar activities. Secondly, the same operations as above have been made for the remaining data after removal of the data with large deviation from the mean calculated by the above prediction method. we have reached a conclusion that average hit ratio of correct predictions to total predictions of flares with class of M5 over has been as high as 70% for the first case and that of correct prediction number to total observation number has been shown as 61%.

  • We investigated solar flare occurrence probability depending on sunspot group classification and its area change. For this study, we used the McIntosh sunspot group classification and then selected most flare-productive six sunspot groups : DKI, DKC, EKI, EKC, FKI and FKC. For each group, we classified it into three sub-groups according to the sunspot group area change : increase, steady and decrease. For sunspot data, we used the NOAA's active region information for 19 years (from 1992.01 to 2010.12). As a result, we found that the probabilities of the all "increase" sub-groups is noticeably higher than those of other sub-groups. In case of FKC McIntosh sunspot group, for example, the M-class flare occurrence probability of the "increase" sub-group is 65% while the "decrease" and "steady" sub-groups are 50% and 44%, respectively. In summary, when sunspot group area increases, the probability of solar flares noticeably increases. This is statistical evidence that magnetic flux emergence is an very important mechanism for triggering solar flares.

  • A ship repeatedly face free surface under rough sea conditions owing to relative motion with wave encounter. The impact pressure is transferred to the hull structure and causes structural damage. In this study, the bow flare slamming load of a container ship is estimated using computations fluid dynamics (CFD) and prescript formula according to various classifications. It is found that the bow flare slamming load calculated by the formulas of the common structural rule and ABS tends to be similar to the CFD results.

  • An investigation of flare-producing magnetic structure is important for studying an initiation of eruptive events. In this study we select two different eruptive events, M5.3 and X1.2 flares in active region (AR) 11283. Both events occur in the same AR, but brightenings of flare ribbons, seen in EUV images, are different shapes. In order to understand triggering process of eruptive flares, we reconstruct coronal magnetic fields using two observation-based models: a nonlinear force-free field (NLFFF) extrapolation model and a magnetohydodynamic (MHD) one. The NLFFFs show that sheared arcades and overlying fan-spine configurations are found in both cases, but the distributions of magnetic twist are weaker before the M5.3 flare than before the X1.2 flare. The MHD model is to explore the temporal evolution of coronal magnetic structures by considering the NLFFF with an anomalous resistivity as an initial condition. We discuss possible processes of two eruptive events using the MHD as well as the NLFFF model results.

  • The paper evaluates the aerodynamic coefficients on a blunt-nose re-entry capsule with a conical cross-section followed by a cone-flare body. A computer code is developed to solve three-dimensional compressible inviscid equationsfor flow over a Space Recovery Experiment (SRE) configuration at different flare-cone half-angle at Mach 6 and angle of attack up to 5°, at 1° interval. The surface pressure variation is numerically integrated to obtain the aerodynamic forces and pitching moment. The numerical analysis reveals the influence of flare-cone geometry on the flow characteristics and aerodynamic coefficients. The numerical results agree with wind tunnel results. Increase of cone-flare angle from 25° to 35° results in increase of normal force slope, axial forebody drag, base drag and location of centre of pressure by 62.5%, 56.2% and 33.13%, respectively, from the basic configuration ofthe SRE of 25°.
