고온 화염분무열분해법에 의해 합성된 장파장 자외선 하에서의 녹색 발광 실리케이트 형광체 (Green-Emitting Silicate Phosphor Under Long Wavelength Ultraviolet Prepared by High Temperature Flame Spray Pyrolysis)

  • Green-emitting $Ba_{1.468}Sr_{0.5}SiO_4\;:\;Eu_{0.012},\;Y_{0.02}$ phosphor powders under long-wavelength ultraviolet light were prepared via high-temperature flame spray pyrolysis from spray solutions with and without $NH_4Cl$ flux. The effects of the temperature of the diffusion flame and the $NH_4Cl$ flux on the morphologies, crystal structures and photoluminescence intensities of the $Ba_{1.468}Sr_{0.5}SiO_4\;:\;Eu_{0.012},\;Y_{0.02}$ phosphor powders were investigated. The phosphor powders obtained from the spray solution with the $NH_4Cl$ flux had higher photoluminescence intensities compared to phosphor powders obtained from the spray solution without the flux. The photoluminescence intensity of the phosphor powders obtained from the spray solution without the flux decreased as the flow rate of the fuel gas increased. On the other hand, the photoluminescence intensity of the phosphor powders obtained from the spray solution with the flux increased as the flow rate of the fuel gas increased. The difference of in the phase purity and morphology of the powders affected the photoluminescence intensities of the phosphor powders.

공기/연료분무 혼합기의 점화 및 화염전파 해석 (Numerical Analysis of Ignition and Flame Propagation in the Air/Fuel Spray Mixture)

  • An Eulerian-Lagrangian method is employed to simulate the ignition process and the flame propagation through the air/fuel spray mixture in a closed constant-volume combustor. The spray mixture is ignited by providing a hot wall at the end of the combustor or by firing the electric spark. The investigated parameters involve the initial droplet size, overall equivalence ratio, initial fuel vapor concentration, distance between the hot wall and the nearest droplet, and the ignition energy. Numerical results clearly show the existence of the optimum spray condition for minimizing the ignition energy and the ignition delay time as well as the critical dependence of ignition upon the distance of the heat source to the nearest droplet.

  • Spray combustion has been used in many industrial fields, for instance, such as diesel engines, gas turbines and industrial furnaces, and furthermore various measurement techniques have been applied to elucidate the phenomenon of spray combustion. In order to measure simultaneously the droplet velocity and the droplet size of spray, phase doppler anemometry (PDA) was frequently used in spray combustion. However, the measurement error is occurred due to existence of flame, which is considered as influencing the precision of measurement. Therefore, the purpose of this study is experimentally to conduct the systematic evaluation on the measurement error when PDA measurement is applied to combustion field.

  • KIVA3V를 이용하여 모형 가스터빈 연소기에서 Jet-A의 분무와 연소에 관한 수치해석을 하였다. 연소기 형상은 6개의 희석홀을 가지며, 스월효과를 고려하였다. 연소 특성을 해석하기 위해 열적 NO 발생을 고려하였다. 다양한 분무각에 대해서 Jet-A 증기, 화염온도 분포와 NO 발생량에 대하여 비교하였다. 분무각이 커질수록 1차 영역에서 연료 증기가 비교적 고르게 나타나게 되며 증발이 더욱 빠르게 되고, 주변 기체와 연료 증기 사이의 혼합이 증가한다. 그 결과 고온부가 넓게 나타나게 되고, 이에 의해 열적 NO 발생이 증가한다.

  • Spray and combustion process with waste cooking oil (WCO) biodiesel and commercial diesel were analyzed in an optically-accessible single-cylinder compression ignition diesel engine equipped with a high pressure common-rail injection system. Direct imaging method was applied to investigate spray and combustion characteristics. From the mie-scattering results, it was verified that WCO biodiesel had a longer injection delay compared to diesel. Spray tip penetration length of WCO biodiesel was longer and spray angle was narrower than those of diesel due to poor atomization characteristics. In terms of combustion, WCO biodiesel showed later start of combustion, while flame was vanished more rapidly. Analysis of flame luminosity showed that WCO biodiesel combustion had lower intensity and lasted for shorter duration.

  • 가스터빈 연소기의 스월러와 노즐을 제작하여 스월러 형상 변화에 따른 비연소시 케로신 분무 특성과 연소시에 열유동장의 특성을 조사하였다. 액적의 크기(SMD)와 속도를 파악하기 위해서 위상도플러입자분석기(PDPA)를 이용하였고, 연소 온도를 조사하기 위해서 R-type 열전대(Platinum vs. Platinum-13%rhodium)를 이용하였다. 분무와 화염의 가시화는 스틸 카메라를 이용하였다. 스월러각이 커서 스월수가 큰 경우에 분무 및 화염이 반경방향으로 빠르게 발전하였다. 화염은 스월수가 작을 때는 원추형의 화염이 형성되지만 스월수가 커지면서 스월 모멘텀이 중심축으로 이송되고 혼합이 촉진되어 원통형으로 바뀌었다.

  • 화염분무열분해(FSP) 공정을 이용하여 결정질의 좁은 입도분포를 가지는 $\alpha$-알루미나 나노입자를 제조하였다. 초미분의 액적을 형성시키기 위해 전구체 용액으로서 연료인 등유를 연속상으로 하고 산화제인 알루미늄 질산염 수용액을 분산상으로 하는 유중수적(W/O)형의 마이크로에멀전을 제조하였다 0.5M 농도의 알루미늄 질산염 수용액을 10vol%, 등유 80vol%, 그리고 유용성 유화제 10vol%를 혼합하여 안정한 분산상태를 가지는 마이크로에멀전을 제조한 후, 이류체 노즐 분무기를 사용하여 0.03㎫의 공기 압력으로 분무하여 화염에 직접 노출시켰다. 제조된 생성물은 20에서 30 나노미터의 균일한 크기를 가지는 $\alpha$-알루미나 상으로 확인되었다.

For these purposes, the time-series signals of MICRO probe is compared with those of electro-static probe and light-guided probe by monitoring, for example. such as OH radical chemiluminescence. CH radical band and droplet Mie scattering In addition, the experiment was conducted by using laminar premixed Bunsen flame, turbulent premixed Bunsen flame and premixed spray flame, respectively. It was confirmed that the performance of MICRO probe was very useful and convenient to obtain the chemiluminescence signals from local regions in turbulent premixed Bunsen flame and premixed spray flame.

디젤 엔진 운전 조건에서 분무 연소 과정과 난류 화염 구조 특성에 대한 해석 (Characteristization of Spray Combustion and Turbulent Flame Structures in a Typical Diesel Engine Condition)

  • Simulation is performed to analyze the characteristics of turbulent spray combustion in a diesel engine condition. An extended Conditional Moment Closure (CMC) model is employed to resolve coupling between chemistry and turbulence. Relevant time and length scales and dimensionless numbers are estimated at the tip and the mid spray region during spray development and combustion. The liquid volume fractions are small enough to support validity of droplets assumed as point sources in two-phase flow. The mean scalar dissipation rates (SDR) are lower than the extinction limit to show flame stability throughout the combustion period. The Kolmogorov scales remain relatively constant, while the integral scales increase with decay of turbulence. The chemical time scale decreases abruptly to a small value as ignition occurs with subsequent heat release. The Da and Ka show opposite trends due to variation in the chemical time scale. More work is in progress to identify the spray combustion regimes.
