In this paper, scheduling problem is dealt for the minimization of due date penalty for the customer order. Multiproduct batch processes have been dealt with for their suitability for high value added low volume products. Their scheduling problems take minimization of process operation for objective function, which is not enough to meet the customer satisfaction and the process efficiency simultaneously because of increasing requirement of fast adaptation for rapid changing market condition. So new target function has been suggested by other researches to meet two goals. Penalty function minimization is one of them. To present more precisely production scheduling, we develop new scheduling model with penalty function of earliness and tardiness We can find many real cases that penalty parameters are divergent by the difference between the completion time of operation and due date. That is to say, the penalty parameter values for the product change by the customer demand condition. If the order charges different value for due date, we can solve it with the due date period. The period means the time scope where penalty parameter value is 0. If we make use of the due date period, the optimal sequence of our model is not always same with that of fixed due date point. And if every product have due date period, due date of them are overlapped which needs optimization for the maximum profit and minimum penalty. Due date period extension can be enlarged to makespan minimization if every product has the same abundant due date period and same penalty parameter. We solve this new scheduling model by simulated annealing method. We also develop the program, which can calculate the optimal sequence and display the Gantt chart showing the unit progress and time allocation only with processing data.

This paper analyzes the optimal user density and power allocation for Device-to-Device (D2D) communication underlaying cellular networks on multiple bands with the target of maximizing the D2D transmission capacity. The entire network is modeled by Poisson point process (PPP) which based on stochastic geometry. Then in order to ensure the outage probabilities of both cellular and D2D communication, a sum capacity optimization problem for D2D system on multiple bands is proposed. Using convex optimization, the optimal D2D density is obtained in closed-form when the D2D transmission power is determined. Next the optimal D2D transmission power is obtained in closed-form when the D2D density is fixed. Based on the former two conclusions, an iterative algorithm for the optimal D2D density and power allocation on multiple bands is proposed. Finally, the simulation results not only demonstrate the D2D performance, density and power on each band are constrained by cellular communication as well as the interference of the entire system, but also verifies the superiority of the proposed algorithm over sorting-based and removal algorithms.
Wi-Fi based vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communication is an emerging solution to improve the safety, traffic efficiency, and comfort of passengers. However, due to the high mobility of vehicles and the limited coverage of Wi-Fi APs, the V2I system may suffer from frequent handoffs although roadside APs can support cost effective Internet connectivity. Such problem of V2I systems can be overcome with Mobile AP (MAP) platform. The MAPs yield longer service duration by moving along with vehicles, yet they provide a lower link capacities than the roadside APs. In this paper, we propose a new association control mechanism that effectively determines whether the vehicle will select a fixed roadside-AP or a nearby MAP in mobile vehicular network environments. We consider both the achievable link bandwidth and available connection duration as a selection criterion and provide their run-time estimation method. Extensive simulation using real traces show significant performance improvements.

This research presents an analysis of algorithm for ship track-keeping along a given trajectory. The maneuver of a free running model ship guiding through a simple path are presented. In order to solve the above problem, a desired trajectory is usually determined by GPS points in a pre-fixed place then these points are set in a pre-programmed navigation so that the ship would be automatically tracked. Proportional-Derivative(PD) control which is useful for fast response controllers was used in this program as a course keeping system. A high accuracy GPS receiver was installed on the model ship that could provide positions frequently, the system will compare and give out the remaining distance and heading to the target way-point. The results of ship auto track-keeping experiment will be explained in order to illustrate the adjustment in controlling parameters. These results can be utilized as a preliminary step to carry out the experiment of ship collision avoidance system and automatic berthing in the future.
According to the new directives about the rational and efficient use of energy, thermal bridges in buildings have to be avoided, and the thermal insulation (TI) layer should run without interruptions all around the building - even under its foundations. The paper deals with the seismic response of multi-storeyed reinforced concrete (RC) frame building structures founded on an extruded polystyrene (XPS) layer placed beneath the foundation slab. The purpose of the paper is to elucidate the problem of buildings founded on a TI layer from the seismic resistance point of view, to assess the seismic behaviour of such buildings, and to search for the critical parameters which can affect the structural and XPS layer response. Nonlinear dynamic and static analyses were performed, and the seismic response of fixed-base (FB) and thermally insulated (TI) variants of nonlinear RC building models were compared. Soil-structure interaction was also taken into account for different types of soil. The results showed that the use of a TI layer beneath the foundation slab of a superstructure generally induces a higher peak response compared to that of a corresponding system without TI beneath the foundation slab. In the case of stiff structures located on firm soil, amplification of the response might be substantial and could result in exceedance of the superstructure's moment-rotation plastic hinge capacities or allowable lateral roof and interstorey drift displacements. In the case of heavier, slenderer, and higher buildings subjected to stronger seismic excitations, the overall response is governed by the rocking mode of oscillation, and as a consequence the compressive strength of the XPS could be insufficient. On the other hand, in the case of low-rise and light-weight buildings, the friction capacity between the layers of the applied TI foundation set might be exceeded so that sliding could occur.
The synchronization problem is directly related to the quality of service in multimedia communication and especially in real-time communication. In this study, we found the cause of clock fluctuation between encoder and decoder in MPEG-2 system layer was that the standard decoder design only considered a fixed time delay component. To solve it, we proposed Extended-SRTS algorithm, which uses STC as service clock by synchronizing transport stream. As the result, we can improve the effect of frequency-drift, time-varying-network-jitter and packing-jitter and so on And by virtue of this algorithm, we can make low the dependency of network clock, which makes easy to synchronize and connect transparently at the ends point, we expect the proposed algorithm can be widely applied to the field of real -time multimedia communications.
See-through HMD type 3D display can provide an advantage of us seeing virtual 3D data used stereoscopic display simultaneously with real object(MR-Mixed Reality). But, when user sees stereoscopic display for a long time, not only eye fatigue phenomenon happens but also de-focus phenomenon of data happens by fixed focal point of virtual data. Dissatisfaction of focus adjustment of eye can be considered as the important reason of this phenomenon. In this paper, We proposed an application of multi-focus in see-through HMD as a solution of this problem. As a result, we confirmed that the focus adjustment coincide between the object of real world and the virtual data by multi-focus in monocular condition.
SVM, a machine learning method, is widely used in image processing for it's excellent generalization performance. However, to add other data to the pre-trained data of the system, we need to train the entire system again. This procedure takes a lot of time, especially in embedded environment, and results in low performance of SVM. In this paper, we implemented an SVM trainer and classifier in an FPGA to solve this problem. We parlallelized the repeated operations inside SVM and modified the exponential operations of the kernel function to perform fixed point modelling. We implemented the proposed hardware on Xilinx ZC 706 evaluation board and used TSR algorithm to verify the FPGA result. It takes about 5 seconds for the proposed hardware to train 2,000 data samples and 16.54ms for classification for $1360{\times}800$ resolution in 100MHz frequency, respectively.
This paper presents an efficient face recognition method using both first moment of image and basis images. First moment which is a method for finding centroid of image, is applied to exclude the needless backgrounds in the face recognitions by shifting to the centroid of face image. Basis images which are the face features, are respectively extracted by principal component analysis(PCA) and fixed-point independent component analysis(FP-ICA). This is to improve the recognition performance by excluding the redundancy considering to second- and higher-order statistics of face image. The proposed methods has been applied to the problem for recognizing the 48 face images(12 persons*4 scenes) of 64*64 pixels. The 3 distances such as city-block, Euclidean, negative angle are used as measures when match the probe images to the nearest gallery images. The experimental results show that the proposed methods has a superior recognition performances(speed, rate) than conventional PCA and FP-ICA without preprocessing, the proposed FP-ICA has also better performance than the proposed PCA. The city-block has been relatively achieved more an accurate similarity than Euclidean or negative angle.

This paper presents an architecture for wireless sensor networks (WSNs) with blind source separation (BSS) applied to retrieve the received mixing signals of the sink nodes first. The little-to-no need of prior knowledge about the source signals of the sink nodes in the BSS method is obviously advantageous for WSNs. The optimization problem of the BSS of multiple independent source signals with complex and noncircular distributions from observed sensor nodes is considered and addressed. This paper applies Castella's reference-based scheme to Novey's negentropy-based algorithms, and then proposes a novel fast fixed-point (FastICA) algorithm, defined as the reference-signal negentropy complex FastICA (RSNT-cFastICA) for complex-valued noncircular-distribution source signals. The proposed method for the sink nodes is substantially more efficient than Novey's quasi-Newton algorithm in terms of computational speed under large numbers of samples, can effectively improve the power consumption effeciency of the sink nodes, and is significantly beneficial for WSNs and wireless communication networks (WCNs). The effectiveness and performance of the proposed method are validated and compared with three related BSS algorithms through theoretical analysis and simulations.
