『상한론(傷寒論)·평맥법(平脈法)』에 관한 연구(1) (The study on ShanghanLun PingMaiFa (1))

  • The PingMaiFa chapter, which is the second chapter of SongBon ShangHanLun, is the scholarly description(專論) of the pulse and pathological mechanism but has not been studied and published yet. This study is about article 1-13 which is the first part of The PingMaiFa chapter. We compared the original texts within the editions, comparing and analyzing the annotations of successive dynastic medical group. The articles of The SongBon ShangHanLun PingMaiFa chapter 1-13 is consisted as is shown: article 1 states about the general features of normal pulse (平脈) and its physiological mechanism and the morbid pulses (病脈) caused by wind, cold, retained fluid, pain and heat vexation, article 1,10 state about the normal pulses of Five viscera (lung, heart, spleen, liver and kidney) and their manipulations in pulse taking, article 2 states about the differentiations of deficiency and excess syndrome according to pulse conditions, article 3, 4 state about the estimation of good prognoses and a factitious disorder by the combination of pulses and symptoms, article 6 states about Latent qi (伏氣) and its diagnostic features, article 5 states about inspection and listening examination as co-diagnostic methods of the pulse diagnosis, article 7, 8, 9 state that the emotions, such as fear and shame, and the dietary are important factors to consider for making diagnosis, article 11 states about the overwhelming pulse (相乘脈) which indicates the abnormal correlations between five phases and appears in four patterns as the dissolute(縱), the unrighteous(橫), the unfavorable(逆) and the favorable(順), article 12 states about 6 harmful pulses(殘賊脈), which are string-like pulse(弦脈), tight pulse(緊脈), floating pulse(浮脈), slippery pulse(滑脈), sunken pulse(沈脈), rough pulse(澁脈), article 13 states about "JaeGoe"(災怪) which is an unexpected response after treatment and it comes because of the formulas that had before. Throughout all these articles, The PingMaiFa chapter not only offers great value for Pulse-taking diagnosis, but also leads to a better understanding of clinical applications.

투수성 호안의 해수유통을 고려한 유동 수치모델링 (Numerical Hydrodynamic Modeling Incorporating the Flow through Permeable Sea-Wall)

  • 평택 당진항 내항 2공구 수역은 3개의 투수성 호안으로, 그리고 내항 2공구 동측의 투기장 수역은 2개의 투수성 호안으로 둘러싸여 있다. 2010년 5월에 관측된 내항 2공구 외곽호안 내측 수역과 내항 2공구 투기장 내측 수역의 최대조차는 각각 4.70 m와 2.32 m로서, 동시에 호안 외측에서 관측된 최대조차 8.74 m의 54%와 27%에 달한다. 호안 내 외수위차와 내측 수용적 변화율간의 회귀식을 도출하고, 이 식을 이용하여 투수성 호안의 해수 유통량을 매 계산시간마다 산정하는 모듈을 EFDC 모델에 추가하여 아산만의 3차원 해수유동 수치모형을 구축하였다. 2010년 5월 13~27일의 모의기간에 대하여 주요 5개 분조($M_2$, $S_2$, $K_1$, $O_1$, $N_2$)의 합성조석과 아산, 삽교, 남양, 석문방조제의 담수방류량을 실시간으로 입력하여 해수유동을 모의하였다. 2공구 내측과 2공구 투기장 내측에서 평균고조위, 평균해면과 평균저조위의 실측치에 대한 모델치의 skill score는 96~100%로서 매우 양호한 재현율을 보인다. 투수성 호안의 해수유통을 차단한 모의결과와 비교하면, 최강유속은 주수로를 따라 0.05~0.10 m/s 증가하고, 2공구 외곽호안 외측에서 국지적으로 0.1~0.2 m/s 증가한다. 해저면 전단응력은 유속이 강한 주수로에서 0.1~0.4 $N/m_2$의 범위로 증가하고, 2공구 외곽호안 우각부 주변에서 국지적으로 0.4 $N/m_2$ 이상 증가한다. 본 연구에서 적용한 투수성 호안의 해수유통 모의기법은 대규모 투수성 호안이 유지되는 해역에서 물질의 이류 확산과 해저지형의 침식 퇴적 및 호안 주변의 국부 세굴 등을 모의 예측하는데 유용하게 적용될 수 있다.

최대강우 패턴 변화를 고려한 인천지방 확률강우강도식의 제안 (Suggestion of Probable Rainfall Intensity Formula Considering the Pattern Change of Maximum Rainfall at Incheon City)

  • 본 논문은 최근 발생한 집중호우와 이상강우를 고려하며 인천지역에서 사용중인 확률강우강도식에 대한 새로운 확률강우강도식을 제안하였으며, 기상청 자료를 이용하여 지속시간 10분$\sim$24시간까지의 임의시간 연최대강우량을 산정하였다. 강우지속기간별 확률강우량을 추정하기 위하여 개의 확률분포형을 적용하였으며 Chi-square 검정방법, Kolmogorov-Smirnov 검정방법, framer Von Mises 검정방법으로 적합도 검정과 함께 최근 강우에 대한 경향을 분석하고 실제 발생한 강우 중에서 최대 발생 강우량을 고려하여 적정분포인 GEV 분포를 확률 분포형으로 선정하였다. 확률강우강도식은 최소자승법을 사용하여 Talbot형, Sherman형, Japanese형, 통합형 I 및 II 형태로 산정하였고, 지역내 하수도 및 하천의 지속시간을 감안하여 확률강우강도식을 결정하였다. 또한 정확성을 고려하여 통합형 I을 선택하였고 지속시간에 따른 강우강도식의 확률강우와 관측치를 감안한 강도식을 인천지역의 강우강도식으로 제안하였다.

DDC문학류의 조합식 분류시스템 분석 - 20판을 중심으로

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the various processes and patterns to build or synthesize class numbers in the 800 class of the Dewey Decimal Classification, Edition 20(1989). The results of the analysis are as follows: 1. The 800(Literature and rhetoric) class in the DDC system is the main class added analytico-synthetic principle positively to an enumerative scheme. 2. The facets to be a n.0, pplied in literature are language literary form literary period ; kind, scope, or medium ; notation 08(collection) or 09(criticism) literary feature, subject, author, etc. 3. In the 800 class, there are the five tables of precedence for literary forms aspects ; specific kinds of persons ; literary, period in relation to the aspects for works treating more than one literary form subforms, aspects and literary periods in the works treating a specific literary form. 4. The basic number synthesis of literary works proceeds through the various facets in the following sequence, as far as necessary for the item : base no. + literary form + literary time or period + kind, scope, or medium + notation 08 or 09 + subform + additional notation from T3C and other tables. 5. In view of the multiplicity of facets, their synthesis formulas take the following order : (1) Works about the literature : base no.(schedule) + language(T6) or form(T3B) (2) Works by or about individual author : base no.(schedule) + form (T3A) + period(schedule) + subform(T3A) (3) Works by or about more than one author, not restricted by language facet : base no.(schedule) + period(T1) ; base no.(schedule) + kind, scope, medium(T3B), or feature(T3C), or person(T5). (4) Works by or about more than one author, restricted by language facet : base no.(schedule) + form (T3B) + period(schedule) + subform(T3B) + notation 08 or 09(T3B) ; base no.(schedule) + notation 08 or 09(T3B) + 9(T3C) + area notation(T2) : base no.(schedule) + form (T3B) + notation 008 or 009(T3B) : base no.(schedule) + form (T3B) + kind, scope, medium(T3B) + notation 08 or 09(T3B) + period(schedule). (5) Affiliated literatures for which period numbers are not us base no.(schedule) + form (T3A or T3B), or notation 08 or 09(T3B) : base no.(schedule) + kind, scope, medium(T3B), feature(T3C), or person(T5) 6. The problems in the number building of the 800 class are the complexity and difficulty of number synthesis, the intrinsic weakness of from distinction and the inconvenience of retrieval inherent in the form class. In order to solve these problems, therefore, the citation orders and methods of DDC should be improved and synthesis patterns simplified from the point of view of its applicability and its usefulness in the "literature class".

의학입문(醫學入門)의 촌관척(寸關尺)에 관한 고찰(考察) (A Study on the Cun, Guan, Chi (Inch, Bar, Cubit) from the Elementary Course for Medicine{Yi Xue Ru Men))

  • Background and Purpose: Feeling the pulse is based on the pulse condition and alteration to observe the condition of the human body's health and by using a healthy person's pulse as a standard we are able to analyze the patient's pulse to find the attacked channel and collateral, viscera and bowels and understand the pathology such as diseases caused by exogenous evil, disorder of internal organs, and seven modes of emotions. Observing the color and shade of the patient's face, listening carefully to the sound of the patient, and feeling the pulse are methods in accordance with Su Wen 'Plain Questions', 'The Classic on Difficulty' (5th century B.C. Bianque), 'The Classic of Sphymology' (280 A.D. Wang Xi), 'Pulse Formulas' (1189 A.D. Cui Jiayan), and is systematically edited for those who have started studying to easily reach the profound state. Therefore, 'The Elementary Course for Medicine' has been used from ancient times as the textbook for diagnostics. Methods: In this Study, we will inspect commonly used pulse feeling methods, the inch, bar, cubit thesis, the viscera and bowels thesis from The Elementary Course for Medicine and inquire the difference of the text from 'Plain Questions of Huangdi's Internal Classic', 'Treatise on Febrile Diseases', 'Classic on Difficulty'. Results and Conclusion: 1. In 'The Elementary Course for Medicine' the site of the wrist along the pulsation of the radial artery is divided into inch, bar, cubit and has defined the inch, bar, cubit crossways. 2. In 'The Elementary Course of Medicine' the inch, bar, cubit for the left hand and right hand is subjected to each viscera and bowel. By assigning the left hand's inch, bar, cubit to the cardial orb, the hepatic orb, the renal orb, and the right hand's inch, bar, cubit to the pulmonic orb, the splenic orb, the vital gate it has been able to feel the pulse for each viscera and bowel by using the interpromoting and interacting relation of the five evolutive phases.

ICT 융합 환경에서의 안전 특성화 접지 설계를 위한 스마트 대지 저항 측정 기술에 관한 연구 (A Study on Smart Soil Resistance Measuring Device for Safety Characterized Ground Design in Converged Information Technology)

  • 본 연구에서는 WENNER 4전극법 기반에 GMD(신규 대지 고유 저항 측정 장치)와 측정용 Probe(접지동봉)가 PLC(전력선 통신)로 연결된다. 측정용 Probe는 2개(P1,P2)가 1조로 모두 5조 10개의 Probe가 직렬로 각각 1m, 2m, 4m, 8m, 16m 간격으로 대지(토양)에 설치되어 있다. GMD에서 보낸 PLC 신호를 측정용 Probe 1조(P1)의 수신기가 감지하면 Probe에 부착된 PSD(전력 공급 장치)에서 측정용 미세 전압과 전류가 대지로 흐르게 되고 P1과 P2 사이의 토양을 거쳐 Probe 1조(P2)에 유입 된다. 이때 대지 저항으로 인해 전압 강하가 발생되는 원리로 저항값을 측정하게 된다. 이렇게 1~5조까지 T초 간격으로 대지 저항을 측정하고 측정된 데이터는 메인 장비에 탑재된 Arduino Server에 저장 한다. 저장된 측정 데이터는 옴의 법칙(Ohm's Law)에 의한 수식 R=E/I와 고유저항 ${\rho}=6.28aR$ (여기서, R: 측정저항, E: 측정전압, I: 측정전류, a:Probe 간격, ${\rho}$: 고유저항 )를 통해 고유저항을 얻을 수 있다. 실시간으로 얻어진 데이터를 Main PC에 설치된 CDGES 프로그램과 연동되어 데이터 분석이 가능하게 되고 대지(토양)의 접지 환경을 실시간 모니터링 할 수 있게 된다. 또한, 대지(토양)의 온도, 습도 등 계절의 특성을 파악하여 3D 그래프 지원으로 입체적인 Display가 가능하다. 연구의 한계점은 실험적으로 개발 운용한 모델로 상업적인 접근을 위해 Test Bed의 구체적인 적용 방안이 필요할 것이다.

프랜차이즈 매장 품질요인의 속성분류: 국내 외식업을 중심으로 (Categorizing Quality Features of Franchisees: In the case of Korean Food Service Industry)

  • 본 연구는 Kano모델을 활용하여 프랜차이즈 매장에 관한 다양한 품질요인들의 속성을 고객의 관점에서 분류하였다. 또한, 각 품질요인들이 고객의 만족 또는 불만족에 미치는 상대적 영향력을 분석해 보고자 만족지수와 불만족지수를 산출하였다. 자료 수집을 위해 외식 프랜차이즈 매장 방문 경험이 있는 서울 및 전국광역시 거주 성인들을 대상으로 온라인조사를 실시하였으며, 총 257개의 응답이 분석에 사용되었다. 분석 결과, 해당 품질요소가 충족이 되지 않는 경우 소비자의 불만으로 이어지는 요소에는 매장 청결도, 직원 친절도 및 숙련도, 편의시설 제공 등이 포함되는 것으로 나타났다. 프랜차이즈 사업에서 매장 간 음식메뉴의 구색, 가격, 품질수준, 인테리어, 고객서비스 절차 등의 표준화는 중요하게 생각되어 왔으나, 이 중 음식 가격의 동일성만이 고객의 불만족과 깊은 관계를 가지고 있었다. 충족이 되지 않아도 상관없지만 충족이 되는 경우 고객들의 호의적인 반응을 이끌어낼 수 있는 요소로는 외부기관으로부터의 수상 또는 인증 경력, 프랜차이즈 브랜드의 해외진출, 경품이벤트 및 사용금액에 따라 혜택을 주는 로열티 프로그램의 실시, 그리고 우수한 매장접근성이 해당되었다. 프랜차이즈 브랜드를 상대적으로 자주 이용하는 헤비유저의 경우, 정기적인 신메뉴 출시 또한 매력적인 품질요인으로 생각하고 있었다. 본 논문은 경영자가 우선적으로 관심을 두고 개선하여야 하는 부분과 경쟁력 확보를 위해 추가적으로 투자해야 할 부분이 어디인가에 대한 시사점을 제공해 준다는 점에서 연구의 의의가 있다.

축산물가공품에서 건조필름법과 TEMPO®TVC 검사법의 총세균수 비교분석 (Comparison of an Automated Most-Probable-Number Technique TEMPO®TVC with Traditional Plating Methods PetrifilmTM for Estimating Populations of Total Aerobic Bacteria with Livestock Products)

  • 본 연구에서는 축산물가공품에서 건조필름법과 $TEMPO^{(R)}$ TVC의 총세균수 측정에 대한 유효성을 평가하였다. 이를 위하여 국내 유통 중인 축산물가공품 257건과 대장균과 황색포도상구균을 인위적으로 접종시킨 축산물가공품 87건에서 대하여 총세균수를 측정하였다. 실험결과는 $log_{10}$ 값으로 전환 후 CCFRA Guideline 29에 의하여 두 검사법간의 일치율을 분석하였고, Pearson의 검정법을 이용하여 상관분석을 실시하였다. 식육가공품 중 햄류, 건조저장육, 분쇄가공육제품 및 식육추출가공품에서 두검사법간 93%이상의 일치율이 확인된 반면 소시지류에서는 89.1%의 일치율을 보였다. 이에 반하여 우유류, 치즈류, 아이스크림류, 조제유류에서는 92% 이상의 일치율을 보였고, 알가열성형제품은 100%의 일치율을 보였다. 또한 소시지류(상관계수 $r$ = 0.77)와 치즈류(상관계수 $r$ = 0.89)를 제외한 축산물가공품 모든 유형에서 건조필름법과 $TEMPO^{(R)}$ TVC 검사법간의 상관계수($r$)가 0.9 이상으로 ($P$ < 0.001) 높은 양의 상관관계를 나타내었다. 결론적으로 본 연구에서 $TEMPO^{(R)}$ TVC는 검출한계가 있는 일부 축산물가공품을 제외하고 총세균수 검사에 있어서 효과적인 것으로 나타났다.

일본 '고증파(考證派)' 의학에 관한 연구 (A Study on The 'Kao Zheng Pai'(考證派) of The Traditional Medicine of Japan)

  • 1. The 'Kao Zheng Pai(考證派) comes from the 'Zhe Zhong Pai' and is a school that is influenced by the confucianism of the Qing dynasty. In Japan Inoue Kinga(井上金娥), Yoshida Koton(吉田篁墩) became central members, and the rise of the methodology of historical research(考證學) influenced the members of the 'Zhe Zhong Pai', and the trend of historical research changed from confucianism to medicine, making a school of medicine based on the study of texts and proving that the classics were right. 2. Based on the function of 'Nei Qu Li '(內驅力) the 'Kao Zheng Pai', in the spirit of 'use confucianism as the base', researched letters, meanings and historical origins. Because they were influenced by the methodology of historical research(考證學) of the Qing era, they valued the evidential research of classic texts, and there was even one branch that did only historical research, the 'Rue Xue Kao Zheng Pai'(儒學考證派). Also, the 'Yi Xue Kao Zheng Pai'(醫學考證派) appeared by the influence of Yoshida Kouton and Kariya Ekisai(狩谷掖齋). 3. In the 'Kao Zheng Pai(考證派)'s theories and views the 'Yi Xue Kao Zheng Pai' did not look at medical scriptures like the "Huang Di Nei Jing"("黃帝內經") and did not do research on 'medical' related areas like acupuncture, the meridian and medicinal herbs. Since they were doctors that used medicine, they naturally were based on 'formulas'(方劑) and since their thoughts were based on the historical ideologies, they valued the "Shang Han Ja Bing Lun" which was revered as the 'ancestor of all formulas'(衆方之祖). 4. The lives of the important doctors of the 'Kao Zheng Pai' Meguro Dotaku(目黑道琢) Yamada Seichin(山田正珍), Yamada Kyoko(山田業廣), Mori Ritsi(森立之) Kitamura Naohara(喜多村直寬) are as follows. 1) Meguro Dotaku(目黑道琢 1739${\sim}$1798) was born of lowly descent but, using his intelligence and knowledge, became a professor as a Shi Jing Yi(市井醫) and as a professor for 34 years at Ji Shou Guan mastered the "Huang Di Nei Jing" after giving over 300 lectures. Since his pupil, Isawara Ken taught the Lan Men Wu Zhe(蘭門五哲) and Shibue Chusai, Mori Ritsi(森立之), Okanishi Gentei(岡西玄亭), Kiyokawa Gendoh(淸川玄道) and Yamada Kyoko(山田業廣), Meguro Dotaku is considered the founder of the 'Yi Xue Kao Zheng Pai'. 2) The family of Yamada Seichin(山田正珍 1749${\sim}$1787) had been medical officials in the Makufu(幕府) and the many books that his ancestors had left were the base of his art. Seichin learned from Shan Ben Bei Shan(山本北山), a 'Zhe Zhong Pai' scholar, and put his efforts into learning, teaching and researching the "Shang Han Lun"("傷寒論"). Living in a time between 'Gu Fang Pai'(古方派) member Nakanishi Goretada(中西惟忠) and 'Kao Zheng Pai' member Taki Motohiro(多紀元簡), he wrote 11 books, 2 of which express his thoughts and research clearly, the "Shang Han Lun Ji Cheng"("傷寒論集成") and "Shang Han Kao"("傷寒考"). His comparison of the 'six meridians'(3 yin, 3 yang) between the "Shang Han Lun" and the "Su Wen Re Lun"("素問 熱論) and his acknowledgement of the need and rationality of the concept of Yin-Yang and Deficient-Replete distinguishes him from the other 'Gu Fang Pai'. Also, his dissertation of the need for the concept doesn't use the theories of latter schools but uses the theory of the "Shang Han Lun" itself. He even researched the historical parts, such as terms like 'Shen Nong Chang Bai Cao'(神農嘗百草) and 'Cheng Qi Tang'(承氣湯) 3) The ancestor of Yamada Kyoko(山田業廣) was a court physician, and learned confucianism from Kao Zheng Pai 's Ashikawa Genan(朝川善庵) and medicine from Isawa Ranken and Taki Motokata(多紀元堅), and the secret to smallpox from Ikeda Keisui(池田京水). He later became a lecturer at the Edo Yi Xue Guan(醫學館) and was invited as the director to the Ji Zhong(濟衆) hospital. He also became the first owner of the Wen Zhi She(溫知社), whose main purpose was the revival of kampo, and launched the monthly magazine Wen Zi Yi Tan(溫知醫談). He also diagnosed and prescribed for the prince Ming Gong(明宮). His works include the "Jing Fang Bian"("經方辨"), "Shang Han Lun Si Ci"("傷寒論釋司"), "Huang Zhao Zhu Jia Zhi Yan Ji Yao"("皇朝諸家治驗集要") and "Shang Han Ja Bing Lun Lei Juan"("傷寒雜病論類纂"). of these, the "Jing Fang Bian"("經方辨") states that the Shi Gao(石膏) used in the "Shang Han Lun" had three meanings-Fa Biao(發表), Qing Re(淸熱), Zi Yin(滋陰)-which were from 'symptoms', and first deducted the effects and then told of the reason. Another book, the "Jiu Zhe Tang Du Shu Ji"("九折堂讀書記") researched and translated the difficult parts of the "Shang Han Lun", "Jin Qui Yao Lue", "Qian Jin Fang"("千金方"), and "Wai Tai Mi Yao"("外臺秘要"). He usually analyzed the 'symptoms' of diseases but the composition, measurement, processing and application of medicine were all in the spectrum of 'analystic research' and 'researching analysis'. 4) The ancestors of Mori Rits(森立之 1807${\sim}$ 1885) were warriors but he became a doctor by the will of his mother, and he learned from Shibue Chosai(澁江抽齋) and Isawaran Ken and later became a pupil of Shou Gu Yi Zhai, a historical research scholar. He then became a lecturer of medical herbs at the Yi Xue Guan, and later participated in the proofreading of "Yi Xin Fang"("醫心方") and with Chosai compiled the "Jing Ji Fang Gu Zhi"("神農本草經"). He visited the Chinese scholar Yang Shou Jing(楊守敬) in 1881 and exchanged books and ideas. Of his works, there are the collections(輯複本) of "Shen Nong Ben Cao Jing"(神農本草經) and "You Xiang Yi Hwa"("遊相醫話") and the records, notes, poems, and diaries such as "Zhi Yuan Man Lu"("枳園漫錄") and "Zhi Yuan Sui Bi"("枳園隨筆") that were not published. His thoughts were that in restoring the "Shen Nong Ben Cao Jing", "the herb to the doctor is like the "Shuo Wen Jie Zi"("說文解字") to the scholar", and he tried to restore the ancient herbal text using knowledge of medicine and investigation(考據). Also with Chosai he compiled the "Jing Ji Fang Gu Zhi"("經籍訪古志") using knowledge of ancient text. Ritzi left works on pure investigation, paid much attention to social problems, and through 12 years of poverty treated all people and animals in all branches of medicine, so he is called a 'half confucianist half doctor'(半儒半醫). 5) Kitamurana Ohira(喜多村直寬 1804${\sim}$1876) learned scriptures and ancient texts from confucian scholar Asaka Gonsai, and learned medicine from his father Huai Yaun(槐園). He became a teacher in the Yi Xue Guan in his middle ages, and to repay his country, he printed 266 volumes of "Yi Fang Lei Ju("醫方類聚") and 1000 volumes of "Tai Ping Yu Lan"("太平禦覽") and devoted it to his country to be spread. His works are about 40 volumes including "Jin Qui Yao Lue Shu Yi" and "Lao Yi Zhi Yan" but most of them are researches on the "Shang Han Za Bing Lun". In his "Shang Han Lun Shu Yi"("傷寒論疏義") he shows the concept of the six meridians through the Yin-Yang, Superficial or internal, cold or hot, deficient or replete state of diseases, but did not match the names with the six meridians of the meridian theory, and this has something in common with the research based on the confucianism of Song(宋儒). In clinical treatment he was positive toward old and new methods and also the experience of civilians, but was negative toward western medicine. 6) The ancestor of the Taki family Tanbano Yasuyori(丹波康賴 912-955) became a Yi Bo Shi(醫博士) by his medical skills and compiled the "Yi Xin Fang"("醫心方"). His first son Tanbano Shigeaki(丹波重明) inherited the Shi Yao Yuan(施藥院) and the third son Tanbano Masatada(丹波雅忠) inherited the Dian You Tou(典藥頭). Masatada's descendents succeeded him for 25 generations until the family name was changed to Jin Bao(金保) and five generations later it was changed again to Duo Ji(多紀). The research scholar Taki Motohiro was in the third generation after the last name was changed to Taki, and his family kept an important part in the line of medical officers in Japan. Taki Motohiro(多紀元簡 1755-1810) was a teacher in the Yi Xue Guan where his father was residing, and became the physician for the general Jia Qi(家齊). He had a short temper and was not good at getting on in the world, and went against the will of the king and was banished from Ao Yi Shi(奧醫師). His most famous works, the "Shang Han Lun Ji Yi" and "Jin Qui Yao Lue Ji Yi" are the work of 20 years of collecting the theories of many schools and discussing, and is one of the most famous books on the "Shang Han Lun" in Japan. "Yi Sheng" is a collection of essays on research. Also there are the "Su Wen Shi"("素問識"), "Ling Shu Shi"("靈樞識"), and the "Guan lu Fang Yao Bu"("觀聚方要補"). Taki Motohiro(多紀元簡)'s position was succeeded by his third son Yuan Yin(元胤 1789-1827), and his works include works of research such as "Nan Jing Shu Jeng"("難經疏證"), "Ti Ya"("體雅"), "Yao Ya"("藥雅"), "Ji Ya"("疾雅"), "Ming Yi Gong An"("名醫公案"), and "Yi Ji Kao"("醫籍考"). The "Yi Ji Kao" is 80 volumes in length and lists about 3000 books on medicine in China before the Qing Dao Guang(道光), and under each title are the origin, number of volumes, state of existence, and, if possible, the preface, Ba Yu(跋語) and biography of the author. The younger sibling of Yuan Yin(元胤 1789-1827), Yuan Jian(元堅 1795-1857) expounded ancient writings at the Yi Xue Guan only after he reached middle age, was chosen for the Ao Yi Shi(奧醫師) and later became a Fa Yan(法眼), Fa Yin(法印) and Yu Chi(樂匙). He left about 15 texts, including "Su Wen Shao Shi"("素間紹識"), "Yi Xin Fang"("醫心方"), published in school, "Za Bing Guang Yao"("雜病廣要"), "Shang Han Guang Yao"(傷寒廣要), and "Zhen Fu Yao Jue"("該腹要訣"). On the Taki family's founding and working of the Yi Xue Guan Yasuka Doumei(失數道明) said they were "the people who took the initiative in Edo era kampo medicine" and evaluated their deeds in the fields of 'research of ancient text', 'the founding of Ji Shou Guan and medical education', 'publication business', 'writing of medical text'. 5. The doctors of the 'Kao Zheng Pai ' based their operations on the Edo Yi Xue Guan, and made groups with people with similar ideas to them, making a relationship 'net'. For example the three families of Duo Ji(多紀), Tang Chuan(湯川) and Xi Duo Cun(喜多村) married and adopted with and from each other and made prefaces and epitaphs for each other. Thus, the Taki family, the state science of the Makufu, the tendency of thinking, one's own interests and glory, one's own knowledge, the need of the society all played a role in the development of kampo medicine in the 18th and 19th century.

  • 1.The 'Kao Zheng Pai'(考證派) comes from the 'Zhe Zhong Pai(折衷派)' and is a school that is influenced by the confucianism of the Qing dynasty. In Japan Inoue Kinga(井上金峨), Yoshida Koton(古田篁墩 $1745{\sim}1798$) became central members, and the rise of the methodology of historical research(考證學) influenced the members of the 'Zhe Zhong Pai', and the trend of historical research changed from confucianism to medicine, making a school of medicine based on the study of texts and proving that the classics were right. 2. Based on the function of 'Nei Qu Li'(內驅力) the 'Kao Zheng Pai', in the spirit of 'use confucianism as the base', researched letters, meanings and historical origins. Because they were influenced by the methodology of historical research(考證學) of the Qing era, they valued the evidential research of classic texts, and there was even one branch that did only historical research, the 'Rue Xue Kao Zheng Pai'(儒學考證派). Also, the 'Yi Xue Kao Zheng Pai'(醫學考證派) appeared by the influence of Yoshida Kouton and Kariya Ekisai(狩谷掖齋). 3. In the 'Kao Zheng Pai(考證派)'s theories and views the 'Yi Xue Kao Zheng Pai' did not look at medical scriptures like the "Huang Di Nei Jing"("黃帝內經") and did not do research on 'medical' related areas like acupuncture, the meridian and medicinal herbs. Since they were doctors that used medicine, they naturally were based on 'formulas'(方劑) and since their thoughts were based on the historical ideologies, they valued the "Shang Han Ja Bing Lun" which was revered as the 'ancestor of all formulas'(衆方之祖). 4. The lives of the important doctors of the 'Kao Zheng Pai' Meguro Dotaku(目黑道琢) Yamada Seichin(山田正珍), Yamada Kyoko(山田業廣), Mori Ritsi(森立之) Kitamura Naohara(喜多村直寬) are as follows. 1) Meguro Dotaku(目黑道琢 $1739{\sim}1798$) was born of lowly descent but, using his intelligence and knowledge, became a professor as a Shi Jing Yi(市井醫) and as a professor for 34 years at Ji Shou Guan(躋壽館) mastered the "Huang Di Nei Jing" after giving over 300 lectures. Since his pupil, Isawara Ken(伊澤蘭軒) taught the Lan Men Wu Zhe(蘭門五哲) and Shibue Chusai(澀江抽齋), Mori Ritsi(森立之), Okanishi Gentei(岡西玄亭), Kiyokawa Gendoh(淸川玄道) and Yamada Kyoko(山田業廣), Meguro Dotaku is considered the founder of the 'Yi Xue Kao Zheng Pai'. 2) The family of Yamada Seichin(山田正珍 $1749{\sim}1787$) had been medical officials in the Makufu(幕府) and the many books that his ancestors had left were the base of his art. Seichin learned from Shan Ben Bei Shan(山本北山), a 'Zhe Zhong Pai' scholar, and put his efforts into learning, teaching and researching the "Shang Han Lun"("傷寒論"). Living in a time between 'Gu Fang Pai'(古方派) member Nakanishi Goretada(中西惟忠) and 'Kao Zheng Pai' member Taki Motohiro(多紀元簡), he wrote 11 books, 2 of which express his thoughts and research clearly, the "Shang Han Lun Ji Cheng"("傷寒論集成") and "Shang Han Kao"("傷寒考"). His comparison of the 'six meridians'(3 yin, 3 yang) between the "Shang Han Lun" and the "Su Wen Re Lun"("素問 熱論") and his acknowledgement of the need and rationality of the concept of Yin-Yang and Deficient-Replete distinguishes him from the other 'Gu Fang Pai'. Also, his dissertation of the need for the concept doesn't use the theories of latter schools but uses the theory of the "Shang Han Lun" itself. He even researched the historical parts, such as terms like 'Shen Nong Chang Bai Cao'(神農嘗百草) and 'Cheng Qi Tang'(承氣湯). 3) The ancestor of Yamada Kyoko(山田業廣) was a court physician, and learned confucianism from Kao Zheng Pai's Ashikawa Genan(朝川善庵) and medicine from Isawa Ranken(伊澤蘭軒) and Taki Motokata(多紀元堅), and the secret to smallpox from Ikeda Keisui(池田京水). He later became a lecturer at the Edo Yi Xue Guan(醫學館) and was invited as the director to the Ji Zhong(濟衆) hospital. He also became the first owner of the Wen Zhi She(溫知社), whose main purpose was the revival of kampo, and launched the monthly magazine Wen Zi Yi Tan(溫知醫談). He also diagnosed and prescribed for the prince Ming Gong(明宮). His works include the "Jing Fang Bian"("經方辨"), "Shang Han Lun Si Ci"("傷寒論釋詞"), "Huang Zhao Zhu Jia Zhi Yan Ji Yao"("皇朝諸家治驗集要") and "Shang Han Ja Bing Lun Lei Juan"("傷寒雜病論類纂"). of these, the "Jing Fang Bian"("經方辨") states that the Shi Gao(石膏) used in the "Shang Han Lun" had three meanings-Fa Biao(發表), Qing Re(淸熱), Zi Yin(滋陰)-which were from 'symptoms', and first deducted the effects and then told of the reason. Another book, the "Jiu Zhe Tang Du Shu Ji"("九折堂讀書記") researched and translated the difficult parts of the "Shang Han Lun", "Jin Qui Yao Lue"("金匱要略"), "Qian Jin Fang"("千金方"), and "Wai Tai Mi Yao"("外臺秘要"). He usually analyzed the 'symptoms' of diseases but the composition, measurement, processing and application of medicine were all in the spectrum of 'analystic research' and 'researching analysis'. 4) The ancestors of Mori Ritsi(森立之 $1807{\sim}1885$) were warriors but he became a doctor by the will of his mother, and he learned from Shibue Chosai(澁江抽齋) and Isawaran Ken(伊澤蘭軒) and later became a pupil of Shou Gu Yi Zhai(狩谷掖齋), a historical research scholar. He then became a lecturer of medical herbs at the Yi Xue Guan, and later participated in the proofreading of "Yi Xin Fang"("醫心方") and with Chosai compiled the "Jing Ji Fang Gu Zhi"("經籍訪古志"). He visited the Chinese scholar Yang Shou Jing(楊守敬) in 1881 and exchanged books and ideas. Of his works, there are the collections(輯複本) of "Shen Nong Ben Cao Jing"("神農本草經") and "You Xiang Yi Hwa"("遊相醫話") and the records, notes, poems, and diaries such as "Zhi Yuan Man Lu"("枳園漫錄") and "Zhi Yuan Sui Bi"(枳園隨筆) that were not published. His thoughts were that in restoring the "Shen Nong Ben Cao Jing", "the herb to the doctor is like the "Shuo Wen Jie Zi"(說文解字) to the scholar", and he tried to restore the ancient herbal text using knowledge of medicine and investigation(考據), Also with Chosai he compiled the "Jing Ji Fang Gu Zhi"("經籍訪古志") using knowledge of ancient text.
