Mevatron KD 8067 선형가속기의 23 MV 광자선의 특성 (Characteristics of 23 MV Photon Beam from a Mevatron KD 8067 Dual Energy Linear Accelerator)

  • 고 에너지 23MV광자선의 특성 중 임상적용에 중요한 심부선량 백분율, 조직-최대선량비 (TMR), 산란-최대선량비 (SMR), 표면선량 및 출력선량 보정계수등의 변수가 이온전리 (IC-10)함 및 평행 평판전리 (PS-033)함에 의해 측정 조사되었다. 명목상의 23 MV X-선에 대한 가속에너지는 $18.5\pm0.5$ MV로 측정되었다. Mevatron KD 8067의 23 MV X-선의 중심선속의 반가층이 기하학적인 좁은 선속으로 측정되었으며 반가층의 두께는 $24.5\;g/cm^2$이었다. 조직-최대선량비는 심부선량백분율표에서 구해졌으며, 실측치와 비교한 결과 각 조사면의 크기와 깊이에서 약간의 차이를 보였으나 평균 $0.7\pm0.5$의 오차를 나타내고 있어 계산에 의한 TMR 값과 잘 일치함을 보였다. 조사면 $0\times0\;cm^2$의 TMR 값은 zero 조사면의 유효감약계수에 의한 값과, 각 조사면의 조직-최대 선량비로 부터 비선형최소자승법에 의해 구해진 유효선흡수계수 및 반가층 측정에 의한 유효선흡수 계수에 의한 값들로 비교되었으며, $\mu=0.0283{\pm}0,0002cm^{-1}$을 보였고, 세 방법 모두 오차범위내에서 잘 일치됨을 보였다. 한편, 불규칙 조사면의 선량계산에 이용될 SMR은 조사면의 반경 50cm까지 계산되어 대형 조사 면에서도 선량율 산출이 이루어지도록 하였다. Mevatron KD 8067의 23 MV X-선의 조직 표면선량은 SSD 100 cm, 1$10\times10\;cm^2$의 조사면에서 최대조직선량율의 $9.6\%,\;25\times25\;cm^2$에서는 $25.4\%$를 보였다.

복잡한 환경에서 Grid기반 모폴리지와 방향성 에지 연결을 이용한 차선 검출 기법 (Lane Detection in Complex Environment Using Grid-Based Morphology and Directional Edge-link Pairs)

  • 본 논문은 복잡한 도로 환경에서 차선을 정확하게 찾는 실시간 차선 검출법을 보인다. 기존의 많은 방법들은 대게 후처리 과정에서 차선 안쪽에 존재하는 잡음을 찾아 차선의 위치를 찾지만, 제안하는 방법은 특징 추출 단계에서 가능한 많은 잡음을 제거하므로 후처리 과정에서 검색 영역을 최소화한다. grid기반 모폴로지 연산은 우선 관심영역을 능동적으로 생성한 후, 모폴로지의 닫기 연산을 통해 에지 들을 연결한다. 그리고 방향성 에지 연결 기법을 통하여 유효한 방향에지를 찾고 사전에 구해진 영상 내 차선의 높이와 두 차선 간의 폭 관계를 이용하여 두 개의 차선을 군집화한다. 마지막으로 차선의 색상은 YUV색상 공간에서 두 개의 연결된 에지 안쪽을 검사하여 Bayesian확률 모델을 사용하여 추정한다. 제안하는 방법의 실험 결과는 다수의 불필요한 에지 군집이 존재하는 복잡한 도로 환경에서 효과적으로 도로 에지를 감별하였으며, 제안하는 알고리즘은 해상도 $320{\times}240$ 영상으로 10ms/frame의 속도에서 약92%의 정확도를 보였다.

"감자에 대한 항생제(抗生劑) 피마리신의 통계적(統計的) 효과(效果) 분석(分析)" (INVESTIGATION OF THE EFFECT OF AN ANTIBIOTIC "P" ON POTATOES)

  • An antibiotic 'P', which is one of the products of the Gist Brocades N. V. is being tested by its research department as fungicide on seed-potatoes. For this testing they designed experiments, with two control groups, one competitor's product, eight formulations of the antibiotic to be tested in different concentrations and one mercury treatment which can not be used in practice. The treated potatoes were planted in three different regions, where bifferent conditions prevail. After several months the harvested potatoes are divided in groups according to their diameter, potato illness is analysed and counted. These data were summarised in percentage and given to us for Analysis. We approached and analysed the data by following methods: a. Computation of the mean and standard deviation of the percenage of good results in each size group and treatment. b. Computation of the experimental errors by substraction of each treatment mean from observed data. c. Description of the frequency table, plotting of a histogram and a normal curve on same graph to check normality. d. Test of normality paper and chi-sqeare test to check the goodness of fit to a normal curve. e. Test for homogeneity of variance in each treatment with the Cochran's test and Hartley's test. f. Analysis of Variance for testing the means by one way classifications. g. Drawing of graphs with upper and lower confidence limits to show the effect of different treatments. h. T-test and F-test to two Control mean and variance for making one control of Dunnett's test. i. Dunnett's Test and calculations for numerical comarision of different treatments wth one control. In region R, where the potatoes were planted, it was this year very dry and rather bad conditions to grow potatoes prevailed during the experimental period. The results of this investigation show us that treatment No.2, 3 and 4 are significantly different from other treatments and control groups (none treated, just like natural state). Treatment no.2 is the useless mercury formulation. So only No. 3 and 4, which have high concentrations of antibiotic 'P', gave a good effect to the potatoes. As well as the competitors product, middle and low concentrated formulations are not significantly different from control gro-ups of every size. In region w, where the potatoes got the same treatments as in region R, prevailed better weather conditions and was enough water obtainable from the lake. The results in this region showed that treatment No. 2, 3, 4, and 5 are Significantly different from other treatments and the control groups. Again No.2 is the mercury treatmentin this investigation. Not only high concentrated formulation of antibiotic 'P', but also the competitor's poroduct gave good results. But, the effect of 'P', was better than the competitors porduct. In region G, where the potatoes got the same treatments as in the regions R and w. and the climate conditions were equal to region R, the results showed that most of the treatments are not significantly different from the control groups. Only treatment no. 3 was a little bit different from the others. but not Significantly different. It seems to us that the difference between the results in the three regions was caused by certain conditions like, the nature of the soil the degres of moisture and hours of sunshine, but we are not sure of that. As a conclusion, we can say that antibiotic 'P' has a good effect on potatoes, but in most investigations a rather high concentration of 'P' was required in formulations.

기업에서의 성공적인 CRM 정착에 대한 연구 (Research about a successful adopting for the CRM in the companies)

  • 기업들은 CRM을 도입하기에 앞서, 기업의 특성과 상황을 분석하고 CRM 비전을 명확히 수립해야 한다. 그리고 장기적인 안목을 가지고 각 기업에 가장 적합한 CRM을 도입하기 위한 요소기술을 파악하고 이들을 최적화해야 한다. 또한, 기존의 기업들이 일상적으로 전개하는 마케팅 활동에 CRM의 개념을 접목한 구축 전략이 필요하며, 이러한 구축 전략에 따라 단계적으로 투자 효과가 가장 큰 업무 프로세스를 개선하고, 이를 위한 시스템 투자를 점진적으로 전개하는 정보시스템 전략이 조화를 이루어야 한다. 첫 째, 고객 욕구의 파악과 고객니즈의 이해를 통해 고객생애가치(LTV)를 극대화하고, 고객감동을 통한 기업의 목적을 달성하고 그를 통한 기업가치를 높여 나가는 것이 중요하다는 것을 인식하였다. 둘 째, CRM을 도입함에 있어 동반되어야 하는 부분은 바로 이러한 조직의 변화, 업무프로세스의 변화, 고객접촉 채널의 변화이며, 경영층의 올바른 이해와 관심이 이뤄졌을 때 성공적으로 비즈니스에 접목될 수 있음을 파악했다. 셋 째, 국내기업의 성공적인 구축사례가 많지 않은 현실이고, 기업들이 시스템 구축에 성공했다는 것도 단지 CRM 전개를 위한 솔루션을 구축했다는 의미에 불과하므로 향후 장기적인 안목으로 더 지켜보는 것이 필요하며 CRM구축에 있어서의 산업별 구축사례가 좀 더 체계적으로 접근되어야 할 것으로 보인다. 넷 째, CRM은 이제 대기업들만의 전유물이 아니며 중소규모의 기업들에게도 필요한 시대가 되었다는 점이다. 스위스의 소규모점포 상인들도 사업체 규모에 맞는 CRM을 성공적으로 펼쳤던 사례가 있었음을 교훈 삼아서 국내 중소기업들도 회사의 실정에 맞는 CRM모델을 개발하고 고객과의 관계 유지를 통하여 사업을 전개하여야 할 필요가 커진 것이다. 다섯 째, CRM 업무프로세스를 정착함에 있어 선진기업의 CRM 시스템 모델을 그대로 적용하기 보다는 도입회사의 실정에 맞는 모델로 변환 또는 응용하는 것이 중요하다는 점이다. 즉, 도입회사 각각의 특성과 개성을 살린 CRM프로그램으로 개발하여, 나만의 장점을 최대로 부각시킬 수 있는 CRM솔루션으로 정착하여야 할 것이다.

베트남 고등학생을 대상으로 한 개정 시스템 사고 검사 도구 재타당화 및 한국과 베트남 고등학생의 잠재 평균 비교 (Re-validation of the Revised Systems Thinking Measuring Instrument for Vietnamese High School Students and Comparison of Latent Means between Korean and Vietnamese High School Students)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 1) 베트남 고등학생들을 대상으로 Lee et al. (2024)에서 보고한 개정 시스템 사고 검사 도구의 타당도를 재검증하고, 2) 연구에 참여한 우리나라 고등학생과 베트남 고등학생 간 시스템 사고 능력에 대한 차이를 알아보는 것이다. 이를 위하여 베트남 고등학생 234명이 베트남어로 번역된 개정 시스템 사고 검사 도구 20문항과 STS 척도 20문항에 응답한 자료를 활용하였다. 타당도 분석은 문항 반응 분석(Item Reliability, Item Map, Infit and Outfit MNSQ, 남녀 집단의 DIF)과 탐색적 요인 분석(프로맥스를 활용한 주축 요인 분석)을 통해 검증하고, 나아가 우리나라 고등학생 475명의 데이터를 함께 활용하여 구조 방정식 모형을 이용한 잠재평균비교를 통해 검증하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 베트남어로 번역된 Re_ STMI 20문항의 문항 반응 분석 결과 Item Reliability는 .97, Infit MNSQ는 .67-1.38으로 나타났으며 Item Map과 DIF 분석에서도 선행 연구에서 보고된 결과와 일치하는 결과가 도출되었다. 탐색적 요인 분석에서는 모든 문항들이 의도한 하위 요인에 적재되었으며, 요인별 신뢰도는 .662-.833, 전체 신뢰도는 .876으로 분석되었다. 우리나라 고등학생과 잠재평균비교를 위한 확인적 요인 분석에서 도출된 모형 적합도 수치는 모두 수용 가능한 값으로 분석되었다(χ2/df: 2.830, CFI: .931, TLI: .918, SRMR: .043, RMSEA: .051). 마지막으로 연구에 참여한 우리나라 고등학생과 베트남 고등학생 간 잠재평균비교에서는 시스템 분석, 정신 모델, 팀 학습, 공유비전 요인에서 작은 효과 크기가, 개인 숙련 요인에선 중간 이상의 효과 크기를 보이며, 베트남 고등학생들이 시스템 사고 능력에서 유의미하게 높은 결과를 보여주었다. 이를 통해 개정 시스템 사고 검사 도구 문항은 안정적인 신뢰도와 타당도를 가지고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 앞으로 학생들의 시스템 사고 연구와 관련하여 베트남어 및 영어 등으로 번역한 문항을 활용하여 시스템 사고의 국제 비교 연구도 진행할 필요성이 있을 것이다.

현대인의 라이프스타일에 따른 픽업트럭 튜닝 용품 디자인 사례 연구 (A Case Study on the Design of Pickup Truck Tuning Equipment according to the Lifestyle of Modern People)

  • 라이프스타일 변화에 따라 소비자의 니즈와 행동 변화는 소비문화로 이어져 자동차 시장에도 영향을 미치고 있다. 그러나 관련 시장의 소비자의 라이프스타일에 맞춘 옵션을 제공하기 위한 연구·조사는 아직 부족한 실정이다. 본 연구는 차종 중 라이프스타일이 가장 많이 반영되는 픽업트럭에 적용되는 픽업트럭 액세서리를 중심으로 먼저 픽업트럭과 픽업트럭의 애프터마켓 시장, 라이프스타일에 대한 이론적 배경을 살펴보았다. 둘째, 이미지 맵핑을 통해 시장규모 분석, 가능성을 통한 픽업트럭의 시장 가능성과 기회요소를 발견하고 이를 통해 사용자 유형을 구분할 수 있었다. 셋째, 사용자 유형을 대표하는 이를 대상으로 인터뷰를 진행하였고 내용을 정리하였고 관련 집단을 중심으로 인터뷰하여 사용자 집단의 퍼소나를 작성하고 각 집단의 퍼소나가 원하는 니즈가 무엇인지 정리하였다. 마지막으로, 사용자 라이프스타일 유형별 도출된 이슈 키워드 및 인사이트에 맞는 디자인 콘셉트를 제시하였다. 본 연구에서는 사용자 유형을 ①야외활동형, ②취미활동형, ③소규모업무형으로 나누어 사용자 유형별 인터뷰로 집단별 키워드에 맞는 콘셉트를 적용하여 디자인 사례연구를 하였다. 야외활동형은 가변형 구조의 수납, 거주공간 형태의 액세서리 디자인을 제시하였고, 취미활동형은 모듈형 데크탑 디자인과 스포츠 쿠페형의 하드탑 디자인을 제시하였다. 소규모업무형은 적재물 고정에 용이한 칸막이와 적재함 탑승에 용이한 스탭퍼 디자인을 제시하였다. 현재 대량 맞춤화(Mass Customization)되고 있는 자동차 시장에서 픽업트럭 이용자의 라이프스타일에 맞는 픽업트럭 액세서리 개발에 적용하여 라이프스타일별 사용자가 원하는 옵션 디자인의 다양화로 픽업트럭 애프터마켓의 규모가 확대되길 기대한다.

황해와 지중해에서의 클로로필 및 부유입자의 비흡광계수 연구 (Specific Absorption Coefficients for the Chlorophyll and Suspended Sediment in the Yellow and Mediterranean Sea)

  • 해수 중에서 클로로필을 포함하는 식물성 플랑크톤 미생물 입자와 그 외 모든 부유입자의 단위 질량 당 광 흡수계수의 크기, 즉 "비흡광계수"는 ocean color 원격탐사 기술개발에서 가장 중요한 요소 중의 하나이다. 분석방법으로는 spectrophotpmeter을 사용한 "젖은 필터법"과 "Kishino법"을 사용하였다. 황해에서는 직접 광학적 관측으로, 지중해에서는 과거의 databank를 활용하여 클로로필(ph)과 부유침전물(ss)의 "비흡광수계수"($a^{*}_{ph}$$a^{*}_{ss}$)가 분석되었다. 그리고 필터법에서 측정 중 baseline의 변동에 의하여 발생하기 쉬운 측정오차를 제거하기 위한 새로운 분석방법을 제안하였다. 이것은 흡광 스펙트럼의 기울기를 이용한 것으로, 필터 technique 와 Kishno method에서 간혹 발생하는 baseline의 변경을 완전하게 복구할 수 있게 되었다. 식물성 플랑크톤의 광흡수 파장인 440nm에서 분석한 결과, 비흡광계수는 지중해의 빈 영양해에서 큰 값이 얻어졌으며, 서해 및 남해의 부 영양해에서는 아주 낮은 값이 관측되었다. 즉, 관측 값의 범위는 약 0.01 - 0.12 $m^2$/mg 이며, 해수의 영양 등급이 낮을수록 그 값은 증가하는 r서으로 밝혀졌다. 클로로필 농도와 440nm의 비흡광수계수 관계를 희귀 분석한 결과 이들 관계는 지수 함수적으로 표현되며 ($a^{*}_{ph}=0.039 ^{-0.369}$), Bricaud(1995)의 연구결과와 거의 일치되는 것으로 나타났다. 반면에 부유침전물의 비흡광계수는 클로로필 입자와는 다르게 그 자신의 농도와는 별다른 관계를 나타내지 않았다. 그러나 서해 연안해수의 부유침전물의 흡광 스펙트럼의 특징은 Ahn(1990)이 측정한 유상 토양입자의 흡광 스펙트럼과 아주 유사한 거승로 나타났으며 그 값의 범위는 0.005 - 0.08$m^2$/g였다. 그리고 클로로필 입자 보다 훨씬 다양한 침전 부유입자의 광특성은 유기입자와 광물질의 혼합비에 의한 것으로 사료되며 그 외 해수 중에서 생물입자 size 분포 보다 더 광범위한 분포와 다양한 환경(입자의 비중, 해상의 바람, 저질상태, 수심 등)에 의한 것으로 추정되었다.

중국(中國) 연변지구(延邊地區) 조선족(朝鮮族)마을의 구성(構成) 룡정시 지신향 장재촌을 대상으로 (Tie Spatial Structure of Ch'ang-ts'ai-ts'un Village A Case Study on a Rural Village of Korean Immigrants in Yen-pien Area of China)

  • Ch'ang-Ts'al-Ts'un is a rural Village near Lung-jing City in Yen-pien Korean Autonomous Province of China. It was formed about 100 years ago by Korean Immigrants and has been developed maintaing the characteristics of traditional Korean architecture. Therefore investigating the spatial structure of this village is a meanigful work to confirm and explore one branch of Korean architecture. This study aims at analyzing the spatial structure of the village using direct data collected from the field work and indirect data from books and maps. The field work consists of on-the-site survey of the village layout, interviews of residents, observation notes and photography. Ch'ang-Ts'ai-Ts'un is located 360-370 m high above the sea level and at the side of a long valley. A river flows in the middle of the valley and relatively flat arable land exists at the both sides of the river. The location of the village related to the surrounding river and mountains suggests that the site of the village was chosen according to Feng-Shui, Chinese and Korean traditional architectural theory. The main direction of the house layouts is South-western. The village has been growing gradually until today. Therefore it is meaningful to make the village layout before Liberation(1946 A.D.) because the characteristics of Korean architecture prevailed more in that period. The area of the previous village is limited to the west side of the creek. New houses were later added to the east of the creek, forming a 'New Village'. Previously the village was composed of 3 small villages: Up, Middle and Down. Also the main access roads connecting the village with the neighboring villages were penetrating the village transversely. Presently the main access road comes to the village longitudinally from the main highway located in front of the village. The retrospective layout shows the existence of well-formed Territory, Places and Axes, thus suggesting a coherent Micro-cosmos. The boundary of imaginery territory perceived by present residents could be defined by linking conspicous outside places sorrounding the village such as Five-mountains, Front-mountain, Shin-dong village, Standing-rock, Rear-mountain and Myong-dong village. Inside the territory there are also the important places such as Bus-stop, Memorial tower of patriots, Road-maitenance building and the village itself. And inside it 5 transverse and 1 longitudinal axes exist in the form of river, roads and mountains. The perceived spatial structure of the village formed by Places, Axes and Territory is geometrical and well-balanced and suggests this village is fit for human settlement. The administrative area of the village is about 738 ha, 27 % of which is cultivated land and the rest is mountain area. Initially the village and surrounndings were covered with natural forest But the trees have been gradually cut down for building and warning houses, resulting in the present barren and artificial landscape with bare mountains and cultivated land. At present the area of the village occupied by houses is wedge-shaped, 600 m wide and 220 m deep in its maximum. The total area of the village is $122,175m^{2}$. The area and the rate of each sub-division arc as follow. 116 house-lots $91,465m^{2}$ (74.9 %) Land for public buildings and shops $2,980m^{2}$ (2.4 %) Roads $17,106m^{2}$ (14.0 %) Creek $1,356m^{2}$ (1.1 %) Vacant spaces and others $9,268m^{2}$ (7.6 %) TOTAL $122,175m^{2}$ (100.0 %) Each lot is fenced around with vertical wooden pannels 1.5-1.8 m high and each house is located to the backside of the lot. The open space of a lot is sub-divided into three areas using the same wooden fence: Front yard, Back yard and Access area. Front and back yards are generally used for crop-cultivation, the custom of which is rare in Korea. The number of lots is 116 and the average size of area is $694.7m^{2}$. Outdoor spaces in the village such as roads, vacant spaces, front yard of the cultural hall, front yard of shops and spacse around the creek are good 'behavioral settings' frequently used by residents for play, chatting, drinking and movie-watching. The road system of the village is net-shaped, having T-junctions in intersections. The road could be graded to 4 categories according to their functions: Access roads, Inner trunk roads, Connecting roads and Culs-de-sac. The total length of the road inside the village is 3,709 m and the average width is 4.6 m. The main direction of the road in the village is NNE-SSE and ESE-WNW, crossing with right angles. Conclusively, the spatial structure of Ch'ang-Ts'ai-Ts'un village consists of various components in different dimensions and these components form a coherent structure in each dimension. Therefore the village has a proper spatial structure meaningful and appropriate for human living.

  • It's not easy to renew old brand of over 50 years history to the tastes of new consumer of our time. Most of national brands that has a history of some 20 years in Korea have strove for continuation and growth of brand to no avails, which can be taken as a good example of current situation. For instance, C company, one of the National brand of US which has a history of 51 years, has made its position secure as a fashion group and based itself on a sound foundation by establishing new marketing strategy and completing successful brand renewal in the process of strategic M&A with Italian company. Those successful marketing strategies are as follows. 1) they regarded both market and consumer oriented marketing activity as company's highest priority strategy and put great emphasis upon concentration on target market and reestablishment of brand image of business casual wear. 2) Setting up and operating planning team composed of merchandizer alone in Milano, they set the direction of plan on the basis of concentrated research on potential item in market according to thorough market research done by buying office in Korea, branch office in Hong Kong and buyer in US prior to blueprint planning for season. 3) Great emphasis was placed on business which focused on intensive presentation of basic key item for apparel career women who are main consumer group in the midium-low prices market in US and on supplementation of size and color. they named this line 'collectibles' and helped their customer develop their own clothes plan without worrying about the change of color and fabric by supporting same fabric and color throughout the year and enabled them to add variation easily by supplementing new trend item. 4) Company set black as a main color that lots of apparel career women find easy to care and to express their own image and presented them with pebble which belongs to navy and beige and added fashion color such as wine and brown etc as season goes by. They constructed basic line in order for their customers to coordinate purchased item with new one or to add them to present collection, and to achieve efficient sale by setting up strategy which allows this cross coordination and changing pattern occasionally. 5) Though basic jacket for 99$, short slim skirt for 49$ are products within midium-low prices range, in the material planning stage aiming at production of item that has both resonable function appealing to consumer and is fashionable, synthetic material had to be used as a main source due to price competitiveness. Despite this situation, considering comfortable sense of fit and refined drape of silhouette that has no sign of cheap material, whole collectible line was divided into two items, which contributed to reduction of cost. In case of material that is composed of triacetate and polyester in 70 to 30 ratio, was used up to 4 million yard, which allowed drastic curtailment of cost accompanied by concentration. In case of 'collectibles' line, using Korean material mainly, C company chose to have their product sewed in Southeast Asian countries where transportation is well developed and both productivity and quality verified by operating global production system which aiming at cutdown of cost through outsourcing production from the country where labor cost is low and getting finished product. Polarization between present consumers telling us that consumers with the mind of middle classes in the past no longer exists between consumers who seek after only fine article of highest quality and wise consumers who are sensible enough to judge bubble on correlation between price and quality. To cope with this change in new consumer mind, apparel makes changing their policy so as to produce item that has reasonable quality and falls within affordable price range anywhere in the world. and they're striving to get out of difficult situation by operating global marketing strategy which stresses separation of planning, production and sale and sensibility of fashion shared worldwide. The marketing strategy of C company can be exemplified as a successful one.

  • Introduction The e-government is concerned with using Internet and Web technologies to exchange information and services with citizens, businesses and other related organizations, and it centers on three functions, namely informational, interactive, and transactional [UN, 2001]. Many developed countries like the U.S. have been actively involved in e-government projects, since they enable both more effective public services for citizens and more efficient internal operations. Korea is among these leading countries that are planning to leverage computer and communication technologies to provide for integration of work processes and information as well as convenient access to information and services. For this reason, evaluating e-government projects is becoming a crucial issue for both researchers and policy-makers. However, most research to date has primarily focused on a model of success of an e-government system designed for citizens, overlooking internal systems specifically created for employees working in a public organization. This paper is intended to propose a model to measure the success of a Web-based information system designed for use by internal users at Chungwadae, the executive branch of Korea's central government. The paper is also aimed at applying the model to the assessment of the present system being used at Chungwadae in comparison with the preceding system. Evaluating an e-Government System The most widely cited model of information systems success today is that of DeLone and McLean[1992, 2003, 2004]. The original model states that the success of an information system can be measured using six dimensions, including system quality, information quality, use, user satisfaction, individual impact, and organizational impact. Although the ultimate success of an information system may be reflected in the impact that the system has upon individuals as well as an organization, aspects of using the system such as system use and user satisfaction can play an important role in determining the system success, because the system would be a sheer failure if users don't like and use the system. As a response to criticisms given by numerous researchers, the authors adapted their model to fit the emerging Web-based environment. The revised model[DeLone and McLean, 2003] they offered included an additional quality dimension, namely service quality, and combined individual and organizational impacts into net benefits which can also influence user satisfaction. The e-government system success model can be built around this updated model. Our model incorporates information quality, system quality, and service quality as in the DeLone and McLean model. However, the 'system use' dimension has been replaced by perceived usefulness, as suggested by Seddon[1998]. In addition, because the e-government systems that this paper focuses on are internal public systems used in government agencies, the 'net benefits' dimension has been replaced by perceived work efficiency. Based on the proposed model, a total of nine hypotheses have been formulated which we tested using an empirical analysis. Methods A questionnaire form has been created with items that are designed to examine the relationships among the variables in the model. The questionnaire has been handed over, in person, to 65 members of Chungwadae staff who are now actively using the E-Support System, the present information system created to support internal work at Chungwadae. We made arrangements to meet with each individual who agreed to participate in our survey, and helped to fill out the survey form with explanations. Of the 65 copies that were delivered, only 33 were returned, and 30 responses of these have been adopted for our analysis, since three were not valid. The extremely small sample size was due to the limited number of staff members who had adequate experience required of this study. Results We gathered data from the questionnaire survey and analyzed them using a regression analysis to test the hypotheses. As shown in the table below, the results indicated that all three dimensions of an information system’s quality are positively related to user satisfaction. However, information quality and system quality were found to be positively related to perceived usefulness, while service quality was not. In addition, perceived usefulness is not positively related to user satisfaction, implying that a user may find a system useful, but may not be satisfied with it. Finally, user satisfaction and perceived usefulness both are positively related to perceived work efficiency. This suggests that workers' positive experience with the system is important to guarantee favorable work efficiency. Conclusions We conclude that the proposed model proved useful in measuring the success of an internal information system used by a government agency. To demonstrate the applicability and usefulness of the model in the paper, we applied the model to the assessment of the present internal system used at Chungwadae in comparison with the preceding system. The results showed that the present system outperforms the preceding one in a statistically significant way. Future research will have to focus on applying the model to Korea's governmental agencies other than Chungwadae and examine whether it proves applicable in different types of governmental organizations.
