Statistics and Management Systems of Unwanted Domestic and Foreign Fire Alarms (국내·외 비화재보의 통계 및 관리체계에 관한 연구)

  • In the event of a fire and a disaster, prompt and accurate alarms inside and outside the building are directly related to the minimization of damage and the success of life evacuation. However, due to unwanted fire alarms in automated fire detection systems, the number of dispatches by misunderstanding in the 119 service is increasing. This causes the insensitivity to the safety of building managers and the waste of the fire-fighting power. Therefore, in this study, the statistical databases and literature on unwanted fire alarms in Korea and abroad (USA, UK) were identified and the management systems for unwanted fire alarms were compared and analyzed to identify problems of statistics in the management systems for unwanted fire alarms.

  • To improve the fire safety of ships, it is required to prepare the systematic design guideline for fire protection and the way of assessing fire characteristics quantitatively. The introduction of simulation technique based on fire engineering is useful to assess fire safety performance quantitatively. Fire simulation tools are currently developing with U.S.A., Europe and Japan as a leader. Most of current fire simulation tools were developed for building or inland structure. Therefore it is required validation process and development of data base to apply maritime environments. In this paper, I/O parameters of simulation tools such as CFAST and BRI2002 of zone model and FDS and KFX of field model analysed, and designed data base considering maritime environment. The fire simulation for the pool fire model of engine room and its adjacent compartments is performed and evaluated the results.

  • Performance based fire engineering design is being adopted around the world as a rationed means of providing efficient and effective fire safety in Building. This development is being supported by the adoption of performance based codes which specify the objective and minimum performance requirements for fire safety traditional design for fire safety which is still practiced in many countries, relies on "prescriptive" codes which specify how a building is to be built, which no statement of objective and little or no opportunity to offer more rational alterative design. It is the aim of this study to investigate and analyze the research direction of structural fire resistance design of steel structures for recommendation of PBD in Korea.

  • Since installing a balcony can significantly reduce the spread of fire, fire spread to the upper levels was confirmed, comparing the cases with and without balcony extension. It was confirmed that the fire can spread not only to the next higher level but also to two levels higher due to the outburst of flame which reached a significant temperature in the case without balcony, while the possibility of fire spread to the upper level reduced considerably with the balcony. this study is compared and analyzed to vertical diffusion appearance of an externally venting flame. An installed balcony is also applied to fire test 6.54kW to analyze about effect of a balcony.

  • The fire accident cases of several countries such as Korea, Japan, United States, etc., were collected and compared statistically. The trends of fire accidents in several countries will help us establish detailed plans for fire protection and reduce the possible fire accidents in the future. For construction of data base system, the program FADS was developed, which is operable in Windows environment.

  • 본 논문은 소방용 무선주파수로 도입 예정인 447 MHz와 2.4 GHz의 응답특성을 확인하고자, 한국소방산업기술원에서 개발된 447 MHz 무선모듈과 2.4 GHz 무선모듈을 이용하여 건축물 내에서 무선통신 환경에 영향을 줄 수 있는 대표적 장애물인 벽체를 시료로 하여 두 주파수 간의 응답특성을 비교 분석하였다. 도출된 결과를 바탕으로 향후 도입될 소방용 무선주파수 선정을 위한 기초 자료로 활용하고자 한다.
