구내 표준 방사선사진을 이용한 구내방사선촬영기의 선질 평가 (Evaluation of the Beam Quality of Intraoral X-ray Equipments Using Intraoral Standard Films)

  • Purpose: This study was to evaluate the beam quality of intraoral X-ray equipments used at Yonsei University Dental Hospital (YUDH) using the half value layer (HVL) and the characteristic curve of intraoral standard X-ray film. Materials and Methods : The study was done using the intraoral X -ray equipments used at each clinical department at YUDH. Aluminum filter was used to determine the HVL. Intraoral standard film was used to get the characteristic curve of each intraoral X-ray equipment. Results: Most of the HVLs of intraoral X-ray equipments were higher than the least recommended thickness, but the REX 601 model used at the operative dentistry department and the X-707 model used at the pediatric dentistry department had HVLs lower than the recommended thickness. The slopes of the characteristic curves of films taken using the PANP AS 601 model and REX 601 model at operative dentistry department, the X-70S model of prosthodontic dentistry department, and the REX 601 model at the student clinic were relatively low. Conclusion: HVL and the characteristic curve of X-ray film can be used to evaluate the beam quality of intraoral X-ray equipment. In order to get the best X-ray films with the least radiation exposure to patients and best diagnostic information in clinical dentistry, X -ray equipment should be managed in the planned and organized fashion.

  • 방사능 오염도 측정에 사용하기 위한 이중구조 고분자막이 폴리설폰과 세륨활성화된 이트륨실리케이트(CAYS)를 이용하여 제조되었다. 제조된 막은 순수 고밀도 고분자 지지층과 이에 제막된 고분자 용액의 상전환 공정에 의해 고형화된 CAYS 함침 활성층의 이중구조로 구성된다. 제막공정에서 대기방치 공정이 생략되었을 때 CAYS를 포함하는 활성층은 전형적인 비대칭 구조를 지니며, CAYS 입자들이 고분자 구조 사이에 박혀있는 형상을 지닌다. 제막공정에서 대기에 방치하는 시간이 증가할수록 막의 형상은 스폰지 구조를 띠며 CAYS는 고분자 구조로부터 분리되어 막 내부에 셀 같은 공간에 밀집되어 존재함을 보였다. 한편, 두 충 사의 계면형상은 고분자 고형화 과정에서의 상전환 속도와 밀접한 관련되었으며, 대기방치 시간의 증가에 따라 계면의 구분이 뚜렷하게 나타나지 않았다. 방사능 탐지 특성에서 스폰지 구조를 지니는 막의 고분자 구조는 방사성핵종이 통과할 수 없는 밀집된 형상을 지니면서 탐지효율의 감소를 초래하는 것으로 나타났다.

다양한 상대 양이온을 갖는 Cy3 염료의 제조 및 특성 연구 (Preparation and Characterization of Cy3 Dye with Various Counter Cations)

  • In this research, we focused on the development of cy3 dye with high thermal stability and good solubility for LCD color filter. Cy3 dyes were prepared through the synthetic procedure of two steps. The synthesized cy3 dyes were characterized by using NMR, FT-IR, UV/Vis spectroscopy, and TGA. These cy3 dyes showed maximum absorption wave length (${\lambda}_{max}$) in the range of 549~555 nm in UV/Vis spectrum. And we confirmed that solubility characteristics and thermal stability of cy3 dyes were dependent on the structure of counter cation. Cy3 dyes with methyl counter cation and ethyl counter cation have good solubility in organic solvents such as chloroform, ethanol, and PGME. Moreover, Cy3 dye with ethyl counter cation gave excellent thermal stability in TGA thermograms. And Cy3 dye with ethyl counter cation showed good result in photoresist film test.

디젤차량의 주행거리에 따른 DPF 윤활유의 특성분석에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on the DPF Engine Oil Characteristics Depending on a Mileage of Diesel Automotive)

  • The oil characteristics and wear particles of Diesel engines with a DPF have been investigated as a function of a driving distance. The engine oil of SAE 5W30 with ACEA C3 is used for an oil film lubrication of the engine, which is equipped with Diesel particulate filter. Depending on the oil test results, the kinematic viscosity of used engine oils at 40 is degraded up to 5.1% compared with that of unused engine oils, SAE 5W30. And the kinematic viscosity of used engine oils at 100 is more degraded up to 8.1% compared with that of unused engine oils. The oil characteristic as a function of a mileage is not changed depending on the driving distance because of high quality of engine oils. But the aluminum and copper compounds, which are used as base materials of the engine bearing and a pin bush, are much worn and contaminated for the increased mileage of the car. The oil properties of used engine oils are relatively good except phosphorus and calcium additives, which are heavily engaged in the performance of the oils.

  • For obtaining the best panel quality of color filter on array(COA) architecture in TFF LCD, we investigated the influence of deposition temperature, $O_2$ flow, thickness on the optical transmittance, wet etching and adhesion properties of IZO deposited onto each color photo resist(red, green, blue). Average transmittance of the pixel single layer in the visible range(between 380 and 780nm) was mainly affected by thickness and showed maximum at 1250 ${\AA}$ while the thickness showing peak transparency in each R, G, B wavelength was different. The relation was calculated by using bi-layer transmission and reflectance model, which corresponded to experimental data very well. The adhesion of IZO deposited on each color PR was found to have enhanced value except red PR case, compared to that of IZO which was deposited on $SiN_x$. Wet etching pattern linearity was decreased as the thickness increased. The thickness of IZO was one of vital factors in order to optimize overall pixel process for fabricating COA structure.

  • Tomographic examination requires several times of exposure usually, therefore, reduction of radiation dose per exposure without loss of image quality proves of great benefit to patient. We compared the exposure doses under the following experimental conditions, A and B. A is the combination of SRO 380(rare earth screen) and SRH(high contrast film) with additional Cu filters or without. B is the widely used combination which is BH-III and Cronex-4 without additional filter. As a result, comparing with the condition B, the condition A with additional filter of Cu 0.15 mm + Al 0.7 mm, Cu 0.4 mm+ Al 0.4 mm and Cu 0.8 mm showed better Image quality and lower surface dose, 44 %, 31 % and 24 % of the condition B, respectively.

  • A light-emitting diode (LED) has been increasingly applied to various industrial fields and general lightings because of its high efficiency, low power consumption, environment-friendly characteristic and long lifetime. To drive the LED lighting, a power converter with the constant output current is needed. Among many power converters, the flyback converter is chosen by many converter designers due to high power density, structural simplicity, and miniaturization. In this converter, an electrolytic capacitor is generally chosen for the stabilization of the DC voltage because of having the large capacitance and the low price. However, the disadvantages are the short expected life time and 120Hz ripple currents on the converter output node. In this paper, a single-stage dimmable PFC DCM flyback converter without the electrolytic capacitor is proposed to prolong the lifetime of the LED driver. For the long lifetime of the converter, the polyester film capacitor with the small capacitance is substituted for the electrolytic capacitor on the output node and an LC resonant filter is added to damp 120Hz ripple current. The proposed converter is verified through the simulation and the experimental works.

화학증착 탄화규소 휘스커에 의한 다공성 코디어라이트의 기공구조 개질 및 특성평가 (Pore Structure Modification and Characterization of Porous Cordierite with Chemical Vapor Infiltration (CVI) SiC Whisker)

  • The main purpose of this study is enhancing the filtering efficiency, performance and durability of filter by growing SiC whiskers on cordierite honeycomb substrate. The experiment was performed by Chemical Vapor Infiltration (CVI) in order to control pore morphology of substrate. Increasing the mechanical strength of porous substrate is one of important issues. The formation of "networking structure" in the pore of porous substrate increased mechanical strength. The high pressure gas injection to the specimen showed that a little of whiskers were separated from substrate but additional film coating enhanced the stability of whisker at high pressure gas injection. Particle trap test was performed. More nano-particle was trapped by whisker growth at the pore of substrate. Therefore it is expected that the porous cordierite which deposited the SiC whisker will be the promising material for the application as filter trapping the nano-particles.

  • 본 연구에서는 신경회로망을 이용하여 X-선 흉부 영상의 병변 검출 시스템을 제안하였다. 집단 신체검사에서 방사선 전문의는 많은 양의 X-선 흥부 영상을 관찰하여 병변 유ㆍ무를 검사한다. 여기서 X-선 흥부 영상에서 병변을 검출하는 일은 매우 많은 시간을 요구하며, 사람이 하기에는 단순하고 지루한 작업이다. 특히, 필름의 크기가 작기 때문에 병변의 진단에 어려움이 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 디지털 영상처리와 신경회로망을 이용하여 X-선 흥부 영상으로부터 병변을 자동으로 검출하는 방법을 제시하였다. 본 연구에서 제시한 방법은 영상 픽셀 샘플링(image sampling), 메디언 필터(median filter), 신경회로망을 이용한 영상 등화(image equalization)와 병변 검출 과정을 포함하고 있다.

  • The use of bioluminescence as a sensitive marker for the detection of Pseudomnas sp. in the rhizosphere was investigated. Transposon Tn4431 which contains a promoterless luciferase operon and tetracycline resistant gene was used. This transposon, present on a suicide vector (pUCD623) in E. coli HB101, was mated with spontaneous rifampicin mutant of Pseudomonas fluorescens B16, a plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR), and then rifampicin and tetracycline resistant survivors were isolated. Twenty tow mutants wer isolated from the conjugants between E. coli HB101 and P. fluorescens B16. One of these, B16::Tn4431 (L22) recombinant which glowed brightly in the dark was selected for analysis. The cucumber seeds inoculated with L22 were grown in moisten two layers of filter paper and nonsterile soil contained in half cut PVC pipe. The roots were removed from the filter paper and PVC pipe, then placed on the 1/2 LB media plates. The plates were incubated at room temperature for 16 hr. L22 could successfully be detected in the rhizoplane by using the ordinary negative camera film (ASA100-400) with 30 minutes exposure under dark condition. The root colonizing ability and the plant growth promoting effect of L22 were not reduced compared to the untreated bacteria and wild type. L22 was superior to will type.
