  • In order to realize economical applications, it is important to reduce the ac loss of 2G high-temperature superconductor coated conductors. It seems to be reasonable that a multi-filamentary wire can decrease the magnetization loss. In this study, we prepared two samples of YBCO coated conductors with striations. We measured local superconducting properties of both samples by using Low Temperature Scanning Laser and Hall Probe Microscopy (LTSLHPM). The distribution of the local critical temperature of samples was analyzed from experimental results of Low Temperature Scanning Laser Microscopy (LTSLM) near the superconducting transition temperature. According to LTSLM results, spatial distributions of the local critical temperature of both samples are homogeneous. The local current density and the local magnetization in samples were explored from measuring stray fields by using Scanning Hall Probe Microscopy (SHPM). From SHPM results, the remanent field pattern of the one bridge sample in an external magnetic field confirms the Bean's critical state model and the three bridge sample has similar remanent field pattern of the one bridge sample. The local magnetization curve in the three bridge sample was measured from external fields from -500 Oe to 500 Oe. We visualized that the distribution of local hysteresis loss are related in the distribution of the remanent field of the three bridge sample. Although the field dependence of the critical current density must be taken into account, the relation of the local hysteresis loss and the remanent field from Bean's model was useful.

  • We show Akari data, Herschel data and data from the SCUBA2 camera on JCMT, of molecular clouds. We focus on pre-stellar cores within the clouds. We present Akari data of the L1147-1157 ring in Cepheus and show how the data indicate that the cores are being externally heated. We present SCUBA2 and Herschel data of the Ophiuchus region and show how the environment is also affecting core evolution in this region. We discuss the effects of the magnetic field in the Lupus I region, and how this lends support to a model for the formation and evolution of cores in filamentary molecular clouds.

  • Fine structures of a quiescent prominence are studied by analyzing high resolution H alpha filtergrams and H alpha line spectra observed at the Hida Observatory of Kyoto University. We have found two kinds of downward motions in the prominence. One of them is a movement with a constant acceleration below the solar gravity(${\simeq}1/4g_s$) and the other with an uniform velocity(${\simeq}16Km/s$). The average life time and the size of prominence knots are estimated to be about 7 minutes and 4000Km, respectively. Spatial and brightness distribution of knots are also presented in this paper. With the analytical solutions derived from magnetostatic equilibrium in the prominence, we have examined the filamentary structure based on the Kippenhahn-Schluter model. Sag angles of the magnetic fields supporting the prominence matter are predicted from the observed density profile.

  • Superconducting power cable is one of the most promising energy application of high-T$_{c}$ superconductors (HTS). A prototype HTS cable have been constructed multi-layer cable using Bi-2223 tape and tested. The AC transport losses under self field were investigated at 77K on the 19 filamentary tape and multi-layer HTS cables. And we carried out numerical analysis using bean model. The result shows that the total transport current of HTS cable in L$N_2$ was 475[A], and transport current passed through almost the outer layer (2-layer). Also, AC transport losses in outer layer of HTS cable was proportion to I$^2$ and higher than losses of inner layer. In case of Ip=Ic, calculated numerical loss density was concentrated on the edge of tape and most of loss density in cable was distributed outer layer more than inner layer. As magnetic distribution was concentrated on outer layer.r.

  • To study the formation and evolution of stellar bars and gaseous nuclear rings in barred galaxies in realistic environments, we run fully self-consistent three-dimensional simulations of isolated disk galaxies. We consider two groups of models with cold or warm disks that differ in the radial velocity dispersion. We also vary the gas fraction of the disks. We found that a bar forms earlier and more strongly as the gas fraction increases in the cold disks, while the gas delays the bar formation in the warm disks. The bar formation enhances a central mass concentration which in turn weakens the bar strength temporarily, after which the bar regrows to become stronger in a model with a smaller gas fraction in both cold and warm disks. Although all bars rotate fast in the beginning, they rapidly turn to slow rotators. Gas infalling to the central region forms a dense star-forming nuclear ring. The ring size is very small when it first forms and grows over time. The ring star formation is episodic and bursty due to star formation feedback, and has a good correlation with the mass inflow rate to the ring. Some expanding shells produced by star formation feedback are sheared out in the bar regions and collide with dust lanes to appear as filamentary interbar spurs.

ITRS (international technology roadmap for semiconductors)에 따르면 PRAM (phase change RAM), RRAM (resistive RAM), STT-MRAM (spin transfer torque magnetic RAM) 등이 차세대 메모리로써 부상하고 있다.
