  • Results of an experimental study on the manufacture and the mechanical properties of carbon fiber reinforced fly ash-cement composites are presented in this paper. The carbon fiber reinforced fly ash-cement composites using silica powder and a small amount of Ethylene vinyl acetate emulsion are prepared with carbon fiber, foaming agents and curing conditions. As a result, the manufacturing process technology of carbon fiber reinforced fly ash-cement composites is developed. And the mechanical properties such as compressive, tensile and flexural strengths and drying shrinkage of lightweight carbon fiber reinforced fly ash-cement composites are improved by using a small amount of Ethylene vinyle acetate emulsion. The development and applications of precast products and the design systems of lightweight carbon fiber reinforced fly ash-cement composites are expected in the near future.

  • This research developed an accelerated curing processe for cellulose fiber reinforced cement composites using vigorous reaction between carbon dioxide and cement paste. A wet-processed cellulose fiber reinforced cement system was considered. Carbonation curing was used to complement conventional accelerated curing. The parametric study followed by optimization investigation indicated that the carbonation curing can enhance the productivity and energy efficiency of manufacturing cellulose fiber reinforced cement composites. This also adds environmental benefits to the technical and economical advantages of the technology.

  • The results of an experimental study on the manufacture and the mechanical properties of carbon fiber reinforced silica fume.cement composites and light weight fly ash.cement composites are presented in this paper. The CF reinforced silica fume.cement composites using silica fume early strength cement were prepared with Pan-derived or Pitch-derived CF, and Lt. Wt, fly ash.cement composites using fly ash, early strength cement, perlite and a small amount of foaming agent. As the test results show, the flexural strength, toughness and ductility of CF reinforced silica fume .cement composites were remarkably increased by fiber contents. Also, the manufacturing process technology of Lt. Wt. fly ash.cement composites was developed and its optimum mix proportions were proposed. And the compressive and flexural strength of the fly ash.cement composites by hot water cured were improved even more than by moist cured, but are decreased by increasing fly ash replaced ratio for cement.

  • Result of an experimental study on the manufacture, the mechanical properties and waterightness of pitch-based carbon fiber reinforced fly ash.cement composites are presented in this paper. The carbon fiber reinforced fly ash.cement composites using early strength cement, silica powder and a small amount of stylene butadiene rubber latex are prepared with carbon fiber, foaming agents and mixing conditions. As a result, the mechanical and plysical properties such as compresive, tensile and flectural strengths, watertightness and cement composites are improved by using a small amount of stylene butadiene rubber latex.

  • In this study, it evaluate the tensile properties of polyamide fiber reinforced cementitious composite and hooked steel fiber reinforced cementitious Composites by strain rate. Polyamide fiber reinforced cement composites (PAFRCC) and Hooked Steel Fiber Reinforced Cement Composite(HSFRCC) were fabricated. Each specimen was reinforced with 1.0 and 2.0vol% fiber. The length of the reinforced fiber was 30 mm for both fibers, and the tensile test specimen was made in dumbbell shape. As a result, the tensile strength of fiber in polyamide fiber and the mechanical bonding between fiber and matrix in hooked steel fiber are considered to be the main factors affecting tensile behavior of fiber reinforced cement composite.

  • The results of an experimental study on the manufacture and the mechanical properties of fiber reinforced calcium silicates-cement composites utilizing by products (fly ash or cement sludge) for construction materials are presented in this paper. As the test results show, compressive, tensile, and flexural strength, fracture toughness of fiber reinforced calcium silicates-cement composites were improved by increasing the fly ash and fiber contents, but were decreased by increasing cement sludge contents. Somehat, especially increasing fiber contents the fracture toughness of the composites were remarkably increased. Also, the mechanical properties of the composites reinforcing alkali-resistance GF were higher than those of the composites reinforcing Samoa Pulp.

  • In this study, it evaluate the electromagnetic pulse shielding performance of amorphous metallic fiber reinforced cement composite with other steel fiber reinforced cement composite. Hooked-ended steel fiber, smooth steel fiber and amorphous metallic fiber were reinforced 2.0 vol.% in cement composites respectively. The electromagnetic pulse shielding performance was evaluated by MIL-STD-188-125-1. As a result, shielding performance of amorphous metallic fiber reinforced cement composite was higher than Hooked-ended and smooth steel fiber reinforced cement composites. In addition, the relationship between the electrical conductivity and the electromagnetic pulse shielding performance of the cement composite was confirmed.

비상체의 충돌에 의한 고인성 섬유보강 시멘트복합체의 파괴특성 (Fracture Characteristics of Ductile Fiber Reinforced Cement based Composites by Collision of Steel Projectile)

  • 본 연구는 폴리비닐 알코올 섬유 및 강섬유를 체적비율로 1.5% 혼입한 고인성 섬유보강 시멘트복합체에 대한 비상체의 고속충돌시험을 실시하고, 충돌조건에 따른 파괴특성을 실험적으로 검토하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 비상체의 충돌에 의한 고인성 섬유보강 시멘트복합체의 파괴특성을 평가하기 위하여 화약압력식 충격시험장치를 활용하였으며, 충돌속도의 범위는 약 150~1,000m/s로 설정하였다. 파괴특성에 대한 평가결과, 고인성 섬유보강 시멘트복합체는 섬유를 혼입하지 않은 Plain시험체의 약 3배 이상의 비상체 운동에너지가 작용하는 범위에서도 표면관입의 파괴등급으로 평가되었으며, 시험체가 파단되지 않는 내충격성능이 확인 되었다. 또한, 충돌시험 전후에 대한 시험체의 질량감소율의 경우, Plain시험체는 비상체의 운동에너지의 증가율과 비례적인 관계를 보였지만, 고인성 섬유보강 시멘트복합체는 비상체의 운동에너지의 영향을 크게 받지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 이와 같은 경향은 시험체 배면의 파괴특성과 밀접한 관계를 가지며, S시험체에 비해 PVA시험체의 배면박리 억제효율이 큰 것으로 평가되었다. 한편, 국부손상에 대한 표면관입깊이 및 배면박리깊이의 관계를 검토한 결과, 고인성 섬유보강 시멘트복합체는 Plain과 달리 시험체 단면의 중앙선을 기준으로 배면에 가까운 영역에서 배면박리가 발생하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통해 비상체의 충돌에 대한 고인성 섬유보강 시멘트복합체의 주요 파괴거동이 검토되었으며, Plain과 비교하여 내충격성능의 향상을 명확히 확인하였다.

  • The research reported here is concerned with the effects of the fiber combination condition and water/cement ratio on the mechanical properties of high performance fiber-reinforced cementitious composites(HPFRCC). An experimental investigation of the behavior of steel cords(SC) and SC and Polyethylene(PE) hybrid fiber reinforced cementitious material under compressive and tensile loading is presented. In this experimental research, the tensile and compressive strength and strain capacity of HPFRCC were selected using the cylindrical specimens. The results show that W/C ratio is a significant effect factor on the compressive and tensile performance of HPFRCC. The envelope curve concept applies to hybrid fiber-reinforced cementitious composites in tension just as it does to compressive stress-strain curve of fiber-reinforced cement composites. For practical purposes, the tensile envelope curve may be taken to be the same as the monotonic tensile stress-strain curve.

  • In order to discuss the mechanical properties of fiber reinforced composites with fly ash, lime, gypsum and polymer emulsion-Stylene Butadiene Rubber Latex (SBR) , experimental studies on FRC were carried out. The kinds of fiber used in FRC are PAN-dervied and Pitch-derived carbon fiver, alkali-resistance glass fiber. As a test results, the flexural strength and tougthness of fiber reinforced fly ash. lime.gypsum cement composites are remarkably increased by fiber contents ,but compressive strength of the composites are influenced by kinds of fiber more than by fiber contents. Also, addition of a polymer emulsion (SBR) to the composites decreased the bulk specific gravity, but compressive and flexural strengths, toughness of the composites are not influenced by it, are considerably improved by increasing fiber contents.
