Development of Design for Cultural Fashion Products based on the Gwangyang Ume Flower Festival (광양매화축제를 기반으로 한 패션문화상품 디자인개발 연구)

  • For the Gwangyang Ume Flower Festival, this study sought to develop competitive fashion culture goods design and to activate regional culture festival by reinterpreting ume flower image in accordance with current trends, manufacturing motive patterns, and applying them to neckties, scarves, and T-shirts. In terms of method, four basic motives were set that showed new figurative images of ume flowers using Adobe Illustrator 10. The repetitive units of each motive we combined with the ume flower motives and the geometrical patterns, such as quadrangle, triangle, and circle. The basic direction of design was set so that color and texture could have colorful, modern, and natural images using pastel tone and gradation. The set patterns were applied to the repetition, the repetition of the transformed patterns of 45 angle, and the strife patterns, making it possible to display various images in the fashion items such as neckties, scarves, handkerchiefs, or T-shirts. The development of such fashion culture goods seems to be more significant, since they can be easily accessed by general festival participants. Accordingly, the Gwangyang Ume Flower Festival seems to develop not into food-led festival, but into a cultural festival that can publicize more various programs and create profits.

A Study on the Participatory Archive Model: Daegu Festival Photographs (참여형축제사진아카이브 구축 방안 연구: 대구시 축제기록 사진 중심으로)

  • Festival records are valuable social records, not only historically but also culturally. Even though festival records are worthy of preservation, many of them are not managed appropriately. In particular, photographs taken by the public are dispersed in various SNS services such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. This study collected festival photographs, taken by the public, from these SNS services and built a participatory archive for Daegu. As such, this study identified and suggested a metadata set through the process of archiving festival photographs. In addition, this study proposed a model of the participatory archive for festival photographs. This model illustrated the institute's collection of festival photographs in the SNS services and the creation of the participatory archive.

  • "Tourist Gaze" discussion in the 21st century introduces that tourist is the post-modern and post-fordism figure. Festival visitors can be said as one of the post-modern tourists, so this figure has "performance turn" feature as well. It will be discussed here why festival visitors of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival want to visit the festival. As post-modern and post-fordism figure, festival visitors want to experience autonomy, competence and relationshjp based on the performance turn.

Effects of Festival Sevicescape and Human Services to Emotional Response and Behavioral Intention (축제의 서비스스케프와 인적서비스가 감정반응과 행동의도에 미치는 영향 -강경발효젓갈축제 사례를 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this research is to find out how festival servicescape and human service impact the participant's emotional response and behavioral intention in terms of participants as consumers. The servicescape of festival indicated 4 common factors, named cleanliness, convenience, suitability and attravtiveness. As a result of analysis, it indicated that cleanliness and convenience from among the servicescape of festival variables are positively on positive emotion, negatively on negative emotion. And it was analyzed that all the variables of human service influence significantly on emotional response. Especially, it showed that expertise of human service variables influence on positive emotion the most, influence significantly on negative emotion. The result of relationship on behavioral intention indicated that the convenience factor of festival servicescape and expertise factor of human service influence significantly. Therefore, to operate successful festival, festival organizer should plan and manage the festival based on factors which comprises festival servicescape and human service.

Development of Measurement Standard Scale for Festival Service Quality (COKITQUAL) (지역축제 서비스품질(COKITQUAL) 척도 개발)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the service scales of festival quality. We derived five constituent factors, service quality measures of local festivals through the extensive literature review in Previous studies. We named these qualities "COKITQUAL" that is consist of Convenience, Information, Kindness, Operation, Corporeity. We conducted the empirical analysis for the participants in "Hwacheon Sancheoneo Festival" to verify the "COKITQUAL". As the result, Information, Kindness, Operation affected positively on Festival Satisfaction among all SERVQUALs. However, Convenience and Corporeity did not positively affected on the dependent variable. And then, Festival Satisfaction positively affected on on Behavior Intention. This study developed the Service quality concerned with local festivals which is crucial fundamentals to quantify Festival SERVQUAL through empirical study. The proper applications and usage of these newly introduced local festival qualities enable to acquire the sustainable competitive advantage in local festival.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of cultural tourism festival's experiential elements on brand value and festival image. The object of this study was the participants of Ganggyeong Fermented Seafood Festival. 260 questionnaires were distributed and analyzed 251 collected questionnaires with SPSS18.0. The results of this study are summarized as followings. First, cultural tourism festival's experiential elements influences brand value, and playfulness, placeness and deviation among the variables of experiential elements positively influence. Second, uniqueness, contents, and functionality of variables of brand value positively influence festival image. It showed that when the organizer offered exciting experiential program which the participants didn't experienced, it influenced brand value and festival image more positively.

Youth Film Festival : its Evolution History and Influence (청소년영화제의 형성과정과 영향요인)

  • In this study, we're going to look at the formation process of Youth film Festival and factors affecting that process. The Youth film Festival didn't appear suddenly in a day. There have been various trial regarding media education by civil society organizations (NGO) until the mid 1990s, principal Youth film Festival has been held from 1997s to 2001s and established a framework for Youth film Festival. There were some progress after those times and then in 2008 Youth film Festival faced some changes such as screening online, and responded rapidly to the current image industry and the cultural stream like the appearance of HD camcoder and smart phone till now. We can divide two areas regarding factors that affecting those formation process of Youth film Festival. First, they are explained as economic and social factors that the situation of South Korea extremely such as the efforts of civil society organizations (NGO), image technology and development of the industry, IMF bailout era and so on, second cultural and educational factors that the rise of virtual culture, the University entrance and results of awards. Thus Youth film Festival has been evolved in various affects, so we can look into the various sections of korea society through these formation process of Youth film Festival.

A Study on the Influencing Relationship among Image of the Festival, City Brand Equity, and Regional Loyalty (축제 이미지, 도시브랜드자산, 지역 애호도 간의 영향관계 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the influencing relationship among image of the festival, city brand equity, and regional loyalty. For the study, questionnaires were handed out to the visitors of 2015 Andong International Maskdance Festival and a total of 289 copies were collected carrying out frequency analysis, factor analysis, multiple regression analysis, descriptive statistic analysis, correlation analysis, and structure equation model analysis. The result showed that image of the festival had influence on city brand equity and city brand equity had influence on regional loyalty. However, image of the festival did not have direct influence on regional loyalty. This research is expected to further extend the study of image of the festival and city brand equity, and the study of Andong International Maskdance Festival

  • As the public reading campaign has been popular, the book festival, a sociocultural event in relation to the book and reading, becomes a growing public interest. The book festival which could be diversified by each community and its environment would be understood in the perspective of the performance of public library, the diffusion of public reading campaign and the sociocultural togetherness of the community. In that, this study focuses on the book festival of Seongbuk-Gu, Seoul, held in 2015. Specifically, this study looks into the theoretical underpinnings and the background of book festival, examines the case of the '2015 Seongbuk-Gu Book Festival' systematically, and analyzes the factors that influence the book festival, in order to enhance our understanding of the book festival in general.

The Linkage of Cultural Tourism Festivals among Local Governments - A Case Study of the 'World Ceramic Exposition 200f Korea'- (지방자치단체간 문화관광축제의 연계유형 평가 - '2001 세계도자기엑스포' 개최 관계자와 방문객의 인식조사를 중심으로 -)

  • The Purpose of this study is to suggest the necessity of linking and coordinating Cultural Tourism Festivals among local governments and to propose a plan for maximizing the effects of these festivals. The 'World Ceramic Exposition 2001 Korea' which took place from August 10th to October 28th was selected as a case study for the linkage plan of Cultural Tourism Festivals among local governments. Data were collected from a random sampling of visitors to 'World Ceramic Exposition 2001 Korea' from 24 to 28 October, 2001. 369 samples from a total 375 respondents were used for the final analysis. The contents of the questionnaire consisted of the cognition and satisfaction about the effects of the festival linkage among local governments and the preference of festival linkage types. The results of the analysis showed that not only festival staff but also visitors recognized the necessity of linking festivals among regions. Both visitors and festival staff had a positive attitude about the effects of the linked festival. In addition, they highly rated the 'World Ceramic Exposition 2001 Korea' as a successful festival. Visitors were satisfied with the festival. Furthermore, the number of visitors was more than staff expected. The organizing committee and staff considered the 'World Ceramic Exposition 2001 Korea' as a successful festival. The successful evaluation of the 'World Ceramic Exposition 2001 Korea' was related to the successful linkage of the festival. This study originated in the increased necessity of linking cultural Tourism Festivals among local governments. Since it is a transcendental study, it is not only significant but also limited. However, in the near future, more varied case studies about the linkages of Festivals will be conducted and these will generalize the results of this study and test the effectiveness of the linkage plans through positive analysis. For the effective linking of festivals among regions, it is necessary to study the definition of factors that affect visitors satisfaction, and determine which methods will improve visitors satisfaction.
