Applying an accurate parametric prediction model to identify abnormal or false pressurizer water levels (PWLs) is critical to the safe operation of marine pressurized water reactors (PWRs). Recently, deep-learning-based models have proved to be a powerful feature extractor to perform high-accuracy prediction. However, the effectiveness of models still suffers from two issues in PWL prediction: the correlations shifting over time between PWL and other feature parameters, and the example imbalance between fluctuation examples (minority) and stable examples (majority). To address these problems, we propose a cost-sensitive mechanism to facilitate the model to learn the feature representation of later examples and fluctuation examples. By weighting the standard mean square error loss with a cost-sensitive factor, we develop a Cost-Sensitive Long Short-Term Memory (CSLSTM) model to predict the PWL of PWRs. The overall performance of the CSLSTM is assessed by a variety of evaluation metrics with the experimental data collected from a marine PWR simulator. The comparisons with the Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) model and the Support Vector Regression (SVR) model demonstrate the effectiveness of the CSLSTM.
This study presents a recently obtained social media data set based upon the case study of Electric Vehicles (EV) and looks to implement a sentiment analysis (SA) in order to gain insights. This study uses two methods in order to fully analyze the public's sentiment on EVs. First, we implement a SA tool in which we used to extract the sentiment of comments. Next we labeled the data with these sentiments obtained and classified them. While performing classification we found the problem of dimensionality and also explored the use of feature selection (FS) models in order to reduce the data set's dimensionality. We found that the use of three FS models (Chi Squared, Information Gain and ReliefF) showed the most promising results when used alongside a logistic and support vector machines classification algorithm. the contributions of this paper are in providing an real-world example of social media text analytics which can be adopted in many other areas of research and business. Moving forward researchers can use the methodological approach in this paper to further refine and improve their own case uses in text analytics.

Evaluation learning based on code testing is becoming a popular solution in programming education via Online judge(OJ). In the recent past, many papers have been published on how to detect plagiarism through source code similarity analysis to support OJ. However, deep learning-based research to support automated tutoring is insufficient. In this paper, we propose Input & Output side FiLM models to predict whether the input code will pass or fail. By applying Feature-wise Linear Modulation(FiLM) technique to GRU, our model can learn combined information of Java byte codes and problem information that it tries to solve. On experimental design, a balanced sampling technique was applied to evenly distribute the data due to the occurrence of asymmetry in data collected by OJ. Among the proposed models, the Input Side FiLM model showed the highest performance of 73.63%. Based on result, it has been shown that students can check whether their codes will pass or fail before receiving the OJ evaluation which could provide basic feedback for improvements.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is the combination of the internet and various sensing devices. IoT security has increasingly attracted extensive attention. However, significant losses appears due to malicious attacks. Therefore, intrusion detection, which detects malicious attacks and their behaviors in IoT devices plays a crucial role in IoT security. The intrusion detection system, namely IDS should be executed efficiently by conducting classification and efficient feature extraction techniques. To effectively perform Intrusion detection in IoT applications, a novel method based on a Conventional Neural Network (CNN) for classification and an improved Genetic Algorithm (GA) for extraction is proposed and implemented. Existing issues like failing to detect the few attacks from smaller samples are focused, and hence the proposed novel CNN is applied to detect almost all attacks from small to large samples. For that purpose, the feature selection is essential. Thus, the genetic algorithm is improved to identify the best fitness values to perform accurate feature selection. To evaluate the performance, the NSL-KDDCUP dataset is used, and two datasets such as KDDTEST21 and KDDTEST+ are chosen. The performance and results are compared and analyzed with other existing models. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has superior intrusion detection rates to existing models, where the accuracy and true positive rate improve and the false positive rate decrease. In addition, the proposed algorithm indicates better performance on KDDTEST+ than KDDTEST21 because there are few attacks from minor samples in KDDTEST+. Therefore, the results demonstrate that the novel proposed CNN with the improved GA can identify almost every intrusion.

Analysis of a bipartite (two-mode) network is a significant research area to understand the formation of social communities, economic systems, drug side effect topology, etc. in complex information systems. Most of the previous works talk about a projection-based model or latent feature model, which predicts the link based on singular similarity. The projection-based models suffer from the loss of structural information in the projected network and the latent feature is hardly present. This work proposes a novel method for link prediction in the bipartite network based on an ensemble of composite similarities, overcoming the issues of model-based and latent feature models. The proposed method analyzes the structure, neighborhood nodes as well as latent attributes between the nodes to predict the link in the network. To illustrate the proposed method, experiments are performed with five real-world data sets and compared with various state-of-art link prediction methods and it is inferred that this method outperforms with ~3% to ~9% higher using area under the precision-recall curve (AUC-PR) measure. This work holds great significance in the study of biological networks, e-commerce networks, complex web-based systems, networks of drug binding, enzyme protein, and other related networks in understanding the formation of such complex networks. Further, this study helps in link prediction and its usability for different purposes ranging from building intelligent systems to providing services in big data and web-based systems.

Recommender systems aim to recommend items to users by taking into account their probable interests. This study focuses on creating a model that utilizes multiple sources of information about users and items by employing a multimodality approach. The study addresses the task of how to gather information from different sources (modalities) and transform them into a uniform format, resulting in a multi-modal feature description for users and items. This work also aims to transform and represent the features extracted from different modalities so that the information is in a compatible format for integration and contains important, useful information for the prediction model. To achieve this goal, we propose a novel multi-modal recommendation model, which involves extracting latent features of users and items from a utility matrix using matrix factorization techniques. Various transformation techniques are utilized to extract features from other sources of information such as user reviews, item descriptions, and item categories. We also proposed the use of Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Feature Selection techniques to reduce the data dimension and extract important features as well as remove noisy features to increase the accuracy of the model. We conducted several different experimental models based on different subsets of modalities on the MovieLens and Amazon sub-category datasets. According to the experimental results, the proposed model significantly enhances the accuracy of recommendations when compared to SVD, which is acknowledged as one of the most effective models for recommender systems. Specifically, the proposed model reduces the RMSE by a range of 4.8% to 21.43% and increases the Precision by a range of 2.07% to 26.49% for the Amazon datasets. Similarly, for the MovieLens dataset, the proposed model reduces the RMSE by 45.61% and increases the Precision by 14.06%. Additionally, the experimental results on both datasets demonstrate that combining information from multiple modalities in the proposed model leads to superior outcomes compared to relying on a single type of information.
Although deep neural network-based acoustic models have greatly improved the performance of automatic speech recognition (ASR), reverberation still degrades the performance of distant speech recognition in indoor environments. In this paper, we adopt the DenseNet, which has shown great performance results in image classification tasks, to improve the performance of reverberant speech recognition. The DenseNet enables the deep convolutional neural network (CNN) to be effectively trained by concatenating feature maps in each convolutional layer. In addition, we extend the concept of multi-resolution CNN to multi-resolution DenseNet for robust speech recognition in reverberant environments. We evaluate the performance of reverberant speech recognition on the single-channel ASR task in reverberant voice enhancement and recognition benchmark (REVERB) challenge 2014. According to the experimental results, the DenseNet-based acoustic models show better performance than do the conventional CNN-based ones, and the multi-resolution DenseNet provides additional performance improvement.

This paper describes the selective Boolean operations on non-manifold geometric models whose union and subtraction operations are communicative. These operations guarantee the same resulting shape in spite of change of the order of Boolean operations, and the integrity of the model for omission of some features. In addition, a B-rep model for a modified modeling history is obtained in a short time, as no boundary evaluation is necessary. These features enable easy implementation of multi-resolution representation of B-rep models.
This paper is aiming at implementation of real-time speaker verification system using DSP board. Dialog/4, which is based on microprocessor and DSP processor, is selected to easily control telephone signals and to process audio/voice signals. Speaker verification system performs signal processing and feature extraction after receiving voice and its ID. Then through computing the likelihood ratio of claimed speaker model to the background model, it makes real-time decision on acceptance or rejection. For the verification experiments, total 15 speaker models and 6 background models are adopted. The experimental results show that verification accuracy rates are 99.5% for using telephone speech-based speaker models.
The development of the durational component of prosody modelling was overviewed and discussed in text-to-speech conversion of spoken English and Korean, showing the strengths and weaknesses of each approach. The possibility of integrating linguistic feature effects into the duration modelling of TTS systems was also investigated. This paper claims that current approaches to language timing synthesis still require an understanding of how segmental duration is affected by context. Three modelling approaches were discussed: sequential rule systems, Classification and Regression Tree (CART) models and Sums-of-Products (SoP) models. The CART and SoP models show good performance results in predicting segment duration in English, while it is not the case in the SoP modelling of spoken Korean.
