In this paper we applied pattern recognition approach to detect audio forgery. Classification of the microphone types and models can help determining the authenticity of the recordings. Canonical correlation analysis was applied to extract feature for microphone classification. We utilized the linear dependence between two near-silence regions. To utilize the advantage of multi-feature based canonical correlation analysis, we selected three commonly used features to capture the temporal and spectral characteristics. Using three different microphones, we tested the usefulness of multi-feature based characteristics of canonical correlation analysis and compared the results with single feature based method. The performance of classification rate was carried out using the backpropagation neural network. Experimental results show the promise of canonical correlation features for microphone classification.

In this paper, we present the multimodal system based on the fusion of two user-friendly biometric modalities: Iris and Face. In order to reach robust identification and verification we are going to combine two different biometric features. we specifically apply 2-D discrete wavelet transform to extract the feature sets of low dimensionality from iris and face. And then to obtain Reduced Joint Feature Vector(RJFV) from these feature sets, Direct Linear Discriminant Analysis (DLDA) is used in our multimodal system. In addition, the Synergetic Neural Network(SNN) is used to obtain matching score of the preprocessed data. This system can operate in two modes: to identify a particular person or to verify a person's claimed identity. Our results for both cases show that the proposed method leads to a reliable person authentication system.
This paper presents the feature extraction of fault currents related to the multi-shot reclosing scheme in the power distribution system. In order to get the fault current waveform, we have measured the fault currents by the fault recorders which have been installed at the secondary side of 154/22.9[kV] substation transformer. These waveforms are classified into temporary and permanent fault. For the classified waveforms, Fourier transform is used to extract the feature of the fault current waveforms. After the waveforms are analyzed by using Fourier transform, the magnitude spectrum and the relative variation of THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) are calculated. And then the relative variation of THD is great in the temporary faults, and is small in the permanent faults.
Automatic segmentation of foreground text from the background in degraded document images is very much essential for the smooth reading of the document content and recognition tasks by machine. In this paper, we present a novel approach to the binarization of degraded document images. The proposed method uses a new local contrast feature extracted based on the stroke width of text. First, a pre-processing method is carried out for noise removal. Text boundary detection is then performed on the image constructed from the contrast feature. Then local estimation follows to extract text from the background. Finally, a refinement procedure is applied to the binarized image as a post-processing step to improve the quality of the final results. Experiments and comparisons of extracting text from degraded handwriting and machine-printed document image against some well-known binarization algorithms demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
In this paper, we propose an intelligent method to surveil moving objects and to judge an unusual-behavior by using network cameras. To surveil moving objects, the Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) algorithm is used to characterize the feature information of objects. To judge unusual-behaviors, the virtual human skeleton is used to extract the feature points of a human in input images. In this procedure, the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) improves the accuracy of the feature vector and the fuzzy classifier provides the judgement principle of unusual-behaviors. Finally, the experiment results show the effectiveness and the feasibility of the proposed method.
The statistical analysis of the feature extraction and the neural networks are proposed to recognize a human face. In the preprocessing step, the normalized skin color map with Gaussian functions is employed to extract the region efface candidate. The feature information in the region of face candidate is used to detect a face region. In the recognition step, as a tested, the 360 images of 30 persons are trained by the backpropagation algorithm. The images of each person are obtained from the various direction, pose, and facial expression, Input variables of the neural networks are the feature information that comes from the eigenface spaces. The simulation results of 30 persons show that the proposed method yields high recognition rates.
Visual Object Tracking is known as the most fundamental problem in the field of computer vision. Object tracking localize the region of target object with bounding box in the video. In this paper, a custom CNN is created to extract object feature that has strong and various information. This network was constructed as a Siamese network for use as a feature extractor. The input images are passed convolution block composed of a bottleneck layers, and features are emphasized. The feature map of the target object and the search area, extracted from the Siamese network, was input as a local proposal network. Estimate the object area using the feature map. The performance of the tracking algorithm was evaluated using the OTB2013 dataset. Success Plot and Precision Plot were used as evaluation matrix. As a result of the experiment, 0.611 in Success Plot and 0.831 in Precision Plot were achieved.

This study develops an algorithm that automatically performs reverse engineering on three-dimensional (3D) sweeping shapes using a user's pre-defined feature templates and 3D point cloud data (PCD) of sweeping shapes. Existing methods extract 3D sweeping shapes by extracting points on a PCD cross section together with the center point in order to perform curve fitting and connect the center points. However, a drawback of existing methods is the difficulty of creating a 3D sweeping shape in which the user's preferred feature center points and parameters are applied. This study extracts shape features from cross-sectional points extracted automatically from the PCD and compared with pre-defined feature templates for similarities, thereby acquiring the most similar template cross-section. Fitting the most similar template cross-section to sweeping shape modeling makes the reverse engineering process automatic.

Music resources are characterized by quantization, diversification and complication. With the rapid increase of the demand for music resources, the storage of music resources is very large. In order to improve the retrieval effect of music resources, a massive music resources retrieval method based on ant colony algorithm is proposed to effectively use music resources. This paper constructs autocorrelation function to extract pitch feature of music resource, classifies the music resource information by calculating feature similarity. Using ant colony algorithm to correlate the feature of music resource, gain the result of correlative, locate the result of detection and get the result of multi-module. Simulation results show that the proposed method has high precision and recall, short retrieval time and can effectively retrieve massive music resources.
