파라메트릭 선형계획문제의 해법: 선형제약 경우 (A Method for Solving Parametric Nonlinear Programming Problems with Linear Constraints)

  • A method is described for the solution of a linearly constrained program with parametric nonlinear objective function. The algorithm proposed in this paper may be regarded as an extension of the simplex method for parametric linear programming. Namely, it specifies the basis at each stage such that feasibility ana optimality of the original problem are satisfied by the optimal solution of the reduced parametric problem involving only nonbasic variables. It is shown that under appropriate assumptions the algorithm is finite. Parametric procedures are also indicated for solving each reduced parametric problem by maintaining the Kuhn-Tucker conditions as the parameter value varies.

Domain Adaptation for Opinion Classification: A Self-Training Approach

  • Domain transfer is a widely recognized problem for machine learning algorithms because models built upon one data domain generally do not perform well in another data domain. This is especially a challenge for tasks such as opinion classification, which often has to deal with insufficient quantities of labeled data. This study investigates the feasibility of self-training in dealing with the domain transfer problem in opinion classification via leveraging labeled data in non-target data domain(s) and unlabeled data in the target-domain. Specifically, self-training is evaluated for effectiveness in sparse data situations and feasibility for domain adaptation in opinion classification. Three types of Web content are tested: edited news articles, semi-structured movie reviews, and the informal and unstructured content of the blogosphere. Findings of this study suggest that, when there are limited labeled data, self-training is a promising approach for opinion classification, although the contributions vary across data domains. Significant improvement was demonstrated for the most challenging data domain-the blogosphere-when a domain transfer-based self-training strategy was implemented.

Coated Conductor 에서의 복제방법의 가능성 (Feasibility of the replication method for coated conductors)

  • We propose a replication method to solve the problem of large percent failure in texturing processes of coated conductors. This problem is due to the individual texturing process for each coated conductor that is very long tape having no single defect spot. We tested two different methods of replication process that are based on a well-textured Ni template. First method has structure of Ni/BaO/STO/$CeO_2$/SmBCO/Ag. So BaO layer is dissolved in water that we can separate STO/$CeO_2$/SmBCO/Ag layers. In this processing, the property of STO is conserved but the superconductivity of SmBCO is deteriorated. So we can consider another method. Second method has structure of template(STO)/BaO/STO/Pt/STO. After dissolving BaO then we deposited YBCO. The result of these experiments showed the feasibility of replication.

예비타당성조사 제도 개선 효과에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effect of Preliminary Feasibility Study System Improvement)

  • 2019년 정부는 경제성이 예비타당성조사 통과의 결정적 요소로 작용하는 문제 개선을 위해 종합평가의 경제성 항목 가중치 최대치를 50%에서 45%로 축소하도록 제도를 개선하였다. 이 연구는 2019년 제도개선에 따른 효과를 분석하기 위한 것으로 제도 개선 전과 후의 차이를 검증하였다. 회귀분석과 상관관계 분석결과 두 기간 모두 높은 상관성을 보였으며, Z검증을 통한 차이는 통계적으로 유의미하지 않은 것으로 분석되었다. 이 결과는 경제성의 영향력을 축소하기 위한 제도 개선이 효과가 없었다는 것을 의미한다. 따라서 종합평가 각 항목의 가중치를 기존 사업 등에 다양하게 대입해 재평가 해보는 등의 연구를 통해 보다 실효성 있는 종합평가 연구 설계 논의가 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

A Game theoretic analysis of public goods allocation in p2p networks

  • This paper presents a game theoretic approach to analyze the public goods (PGs) allocation in peer-to-peer (p2p) networks. In order to reduce the free-riders and promote the cooperation among peers, we propose an incentive mechanism with cooperation-based game theory. In this paper, we regarded the contributed resources by cooperators as public goods (PGs). We also build the PGs allocation in P2P networks to be the optimization problem, and the optimal solution of PGs allocation satisfies the Bowen-Lindahl-Samuelson equilibrium. Firstly, based on the subscriber mechanism, we analyze the feasibility and prove the validity, which can achieve Nash equilibrium. However, this strategy cannot meet to Bowen-Lindahl-Samuelson equilibrium as the free-riders do not pay with their private goods for consuming the PGs. Secondly, based on the Walker mechanism, we analyze the feasibility and prove the validity for the same allocation problem, which meets to Bowen-Lindahl-Samuelson equilibrium and achieves Pareto efficiency within cooperative game. Simulations show that the proposed walker mechanism can significantly improve the network performance of throughout, and effectively alleviate free-riding problem in P2P networks.

Simulation and measurement: Feasibility study of Tactile Internet applications for mmWave virtual reality

  • Numerous wearable technology companies have recently developed several headmounted display (HMD) products for virtual reality (VR) services. 5G wireless networks aim at providing high-quality 3D multimedia services such as VR, augmented reality, and mixed reality. In this study, we examine the application of millimeter-wave (mmWave) technology to realize low-latency wireless communication between an HMD and its content server. However, the propagation characteristics of mmWave present several challenges such as the deafness, blockage, and beam alignment problems, and interference among content servers. In this study, we focus on an environment that provides VR services in the mmWave band and introduce existing techniques for addressing such challenges. In addition, we employ a commercialized IEEE 802.11ad VR dongle to measure the actual data rate of an mmWave VR application and identify the degree to which the performance deteriorates when the above problems occur. Finally, we verify the feasibility of the proposed solutions through a simulation of several VR scenarios in the mmWave band.

수요가 불확실한 경우의 장소입지 결정모형 연구 (A Study of Facility Location Model Under Uncertain Demand)

  • The facility location problem considered here is to determine facility location sites under future's uncertain demand. The objective of this paper is to propose a solution method and algorithm for a two-stage stochastic facility location problem. utilizing the Benders decomposition method. As a two-stage stochastic facility location problem is a large-scale and complex to solve, it is usually attempted to use a mean value problem rather than using a stochastic problem. Thus, the other objective is to study the relative error of objective function values between a stochastic problem and a mean value problem. The simulation result shows that the relative error of objective function values between two problems is relatively small, when a feasibility constraint is added to a facility location model.

Feasibility Study of Superconducting Fault Current Limiter Application to Korean Power System

  • The short circuit current problem is one of the operational problems that need to be solved by power system engineers in Korea. It is an important issue in the Seoul metropolitan area especially because of highly meshed configuration. Currently, it is regulated by changing 154 kV system configuration from loop connection to radial system, by splitting of the bus where load balance can be achieved, and by upgrading circuit breaker rating. A development project for 154 kV/2 KA SFCL application to 154 kV transmission system after 2010 is proceeding. In this paper, a feasibility study of superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) is carried out in Seoul metropolitan area to find out the effects of its application and feasibility. This study shows that it can reduce fault current considerably, and as it can minimize the upgrading of circuit breaker rating, the economic potential of SFCL is evaluated positively.

Feasibility Test and Scheduling Algorithm for Dynamically Created Preemptable Real-Time Tasks

  • An optimal algorithm is presented for feasibility test and scheduling of real-time tasks where tasks are preemptable and created dynamically. Each task has an arbitrary creation time, ready time, maximum execution time, and deadline. Feasibility test and scheduling are conducted via the same algorithm. Time complexity of the algorithm is O(n) for each newly created task where n is the number of tasks. This result improves the previous result of O(n log n). It is shown that the algorithm can be used for scheduling tasks with different levels of importance. Time complexity of the algorithm for the problem is O(n\ulcorner) which improves the previous results of O(n\ulcorner log n).

A Study on the Economical Feasibility Analysis For Development of Dual Mode Trailer System

  • In light of the growing traffic congestion problem and congestion cost, the container transport by railway has to be increased. The freight transport by railway can have decided advantages over trucks in terms of energy efficiency, emissions and cost for certain freight movements, just as transportation in the metropolitan region can have great advantages over driving truck. But the freight transport by truck should gain significant mobility benefits from a freight railway system. Thus, the DMT(Dual Mode Trailer) transport system which is coupled railway transport advantages with load transport advantages has been developed and used in the european countries. The DMT transport will therefore serve the areas required by transport organizers. The purpose of this paper is to estimate economical feasibility analysis for development of DMT transport system. Consequently, this study analyzed the characteristics of the DMT system. The horizontal load.unload system is being considered as an adoptable DMT system in consideration of the situation in Korea.
