중증 치매환자복 개발 및 사용성 평가 (Development and Evaluation of Customized Clothing for Patients with Severe Dementia)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop clothing customized for dealing with patients with severe dementia. Based on the results of previous studies, The research patient clothing was designed to reduce the physical fatigue experienced by caregivers when dressing and undressing patients by changing the position and shape of the split in the patient's clothing. This study used qualitative and quantitative methods to measure the extent to which these modifications improved the ease of dressing and undressing the research patient. The research patient clothing was developed by moving the rear-center zipper to the side and changing the zipper from being half-open to fully open. Muscle energy consumption and fatigue generation were analyzed using EMG signals at the following sites: brachioradialis, biceps, triceps, anterior deltoid, medial deltoid, posterior deltoid, upper trapezius and erector spinae. Results indicated that the modified research patient clothing required less muscle energy and the occurrence of muscle fatigue decreased overall compared to traditional patient clothing. This was supported by the qualitative subjective evaluation, which revealed that dressing and undressing was easier with the modified clothing. In conclusion, repositioning of the back zipper to the side and the fully open slit shape significantly reduced caregiver fatigue when dressing and undressing patients.

저상버스용 하이브리드 복합재 조인트부의 통계적 피로수명평가 (Evaluation of Statistical Fatigue Life of Hybrid Composite Joints in Low-Floor Bus)

  • 피로시험의 결과가 큰 편차를 보이는 하이브리드 복합재 조인트부에 대해서 통계적 피로수명 평가법을 이용하여 신뢰도 높은 피로수명을 추정하고자 한다. 저상버스 차체에 사용되는 하이브리드 복합재 조인트부를 절취하여 시험대상으로 하였으며, 이 조인트 시편으로 외팔보형 피로굽힘시험을 수행하였다. 피로시험 데이터를 정규분포, 대수정규분포, 와이블 분포를 이용하여 근접시킨 피로수명 곡선들과 각각 비교함으로써 하이브리드 복합재 조인트부의 내구수명 추정에 가장 적합한 확률분포를 선정하였다. 선정된 와이블 확률분포를 이용해 확률-응력-수명(P-S-N) 곡선을 구함으로써 하이브리드 복합재 조인트부에 대한 통계적 수명예측 평가절차와 신뢰성설계의 기초자료를 제시하였다.

Al-3%Ti 박막의 피로성질에 대한 시편 크기 영향 (Specimen Size Effect on Fatigue Properties of Surface-Micromachined Al-3%Ti Thin Films)

  • This paper presents high cycle fatigue properties of an Al-3%Ti thin film, used in a RF (radio-frequency) MEMS switch for a mobile phone and also describes new test method for obtaining static and dynamic characteristics of thin film and reliability evaluation method on MEMS device with thin film developed by authors. Durability should be ensured for such devices under cycling load. Therefore, with the proposed specimen and test procedure, tensile and fatigue tests were performed to obtain mechanical and fatigue properties. The specimen was made with dimensions of $1000{\mu}m$ long, $1.0{\mu}m$ thickness, and 3 kinds of width, 50, 100 and $150{\mu}m$. High cycle fatigue tests for each width were also performed, from which the fatigue strength coefficient and the fatigue strength exponent were found to be 193MPa and .0.02319 for $50{\mu}m$, 181MPa and -0.02001 for $100{\mu}m$, and 164MPa and -0.01322 for $150{\mu}m$, respectively. We found that the narrower specimen is, the longer fatigue life of Al-3%Ti is and the wider specimen is, the more susceptible to stress level fatigue life of Al-3%Ti was.

표면처리 박강판 spot용접 이음재의 응력분포와 부식피로강도 평가 (Evaluation of Stress Distribution and Corrosion Fatigue Strength on Spot Welded Lap Joint of Coated Thin Steel Plate)

  • Fatigue strength of the spot welded lap joint is considerably influenced by corrosive environments. Particularly, the chloride and the sulfide are most injurious to strength of the spot welded lap joint. Therefore, there is a need to evaluate its effect to corrosion fatigue strength for safe life design of spot welded structures. In order to evaluate their corrosion fatigue strength, corrosion fatigue tests on the spot welded lap joints of the uncoated and the coated high strength steel sheets were conducted in air and in 10% NaCl solution. Corrosion fatigue strength of the uncoated specimens were entirely lower than the coated one in NaCl solution, but those of the coated specimens in NaCl solution were lower than in air. And stress distribution in single spon welded lap joint subjected to tension-shear load was investigated by the finite element method. Using these results, we tried to evaluate corrosion fatgue strength of the various spot welded lap joints with maximum stress $\sigma_{max}$ at edge on loading side of the spot welded lap joint. We could find that corrosion fatigue strength could be quantitatively and systematically rearranged by $\sigma_{max}$.

주관평가와 작업수행도의 상관관계 분석에 의한 조명 색온도에서의 피로도 평가 (Evaluation of fatigue by Analysis of Relation between Subjective Rating Score and Working Performance with Color Temperature)

  • 조명 색온도에 따른 작업자의 피로도를 평가하기 위하여 세 종류의 조명 색온도(2700 K, 4000 K, 6500 K)를 실험변수로 하여 모니터상에서 오류수정 작업이 수행되었다. 색온도의 변화에 따른 인체의 영향을 평가하기 위하여 먼저 주관평가와 작업수행도의 상관관계를 분석하였다. 시각피로·정신피로와 집중도에 관한 주관평가를 실시한 결과, 2700 K에서 시각피로 및 정신피로가 가장 적고 집중도가 높으며 작업수행도가 가장 좋았다. 6500 K에서 정신피로를 가장 많이 느끼고 집중도가 제일 낮았으나, 시각피로를 가장 많이 느낀 4000 K에서의 작업수행도가 가장 낮았다. 결과적으로 세 가지 색온도 조건 중 2700 K가 모니터상의 오류수정 작업에 가장 적합하다고 할 수 있다.

노치응력법에 의한 용접 연결부 피로수명 추정에 관한 연구 (Estimation Fatigue Life of Weldments by Notch Stress Approaches)

  • This paper analyzes the fatigue-life of welded joints using the notch stress approach. In the notch stress approach, the notch effects are usually approximated by introducing weld-bead parameters for the local detailed weld joints. The actual bead shape is complex and 3-dimensional. It may also greatly influence the fatigue strength. In this study, the welded shape was modeled using a 3D-scanner. The critical distance method was adopted in the evaluation of the fatigue effective notch stress for the weldments. Fatigue life tests were performed to verify the present method of fatigue life estimation for two types of welded plates with longitudinal attachments. The estimated results of the present methods were applied to the results of the experiment. The results of the analysis showed that the scatter of fatigue-life for the experimental data expressed in the nominal stress was significantly reduced by applying the effective fatigue stress of the present study.

Evaluation of typhoon induced fatigue damage using health monitoring data for the Tsing Ma Bridge

  • This paper aims to evaluate the effect of typhoons on fatigue damage accumulation in steel decks of long-span suspension bridges. The strain-time histories at critical locations of deck sections of long-span bridges during different typhoons passing the bridge area are investigated by using on-line strain data acquired from the structural health monitoring system installed on the bridge. The fatigue damage models based on Miner's Law and Continuum Damage Mechanics (CDM) are applied to calculate the increment of fatigue damage due to the action of a typhoon. Accumulated fatigue damage during the typhoon is also calculated and compared between Miner's Law and the CDM method. It is found that for the Tsing Ma Bridge case, the stress spectrum generated by a typhoon is significantly different than that generated by normal traffic and its histogram shapes can be described approximately as a Rayleigh distribution. The influence of typhoon loading on accumulative fatigue damage is more significant than that due to normal traffic loading. The increment of fatigue damage generated by hourly stress spectrum for the maximum typhoon loading may be much greater than those for normal traffic loading. It is, therefore, concluded that it is necessary to evaluate typhoon induced fatigue damage for the purpose of accurately evaluating accumulative fatigue damage for long-span bridges located within typhoon prone regions.

열화상기술을 이용한 모멘트 변화에 따른 피로균열진전 연구 (A Study of the Fatigue Crack Propagation Behavior According to the Moment Change using Infrared Thermography)

  • The objective of this study is to propose an effective method for measurement and analysis of fatigue crack. A technique that can measure the statue of fatigue crack propagation fast and correctly for enhancing safety of constructions and securing reliability is necessary. Moreover, the crack propagation behavior characteristics evaluation technique has to be developed using this technique. In this paper, fatigue crack was caused via the fatigue experiment with repeated load on the CT specimen that is made up of STS304. Fatigue crack propagation was measured by tracing the position of the maximum temperature according to the cycles using infrared thermography. The crack growth characteristics was evaluated by applying the moment values on the measuring area to the measured value. As a result of this study, the possibility that the infrared thermography could be applied to measure the fatigue crack was identified. Moreover, it was identified that fatigue crack propagation have a relationship with the moment value of construction.

로켓엔진용 구리크롬 합금의 저주기 피로수명 예측방법 비교 및 평가 (Comparison and Evaluation of Low-Cycle Fatigue Life Prediction Methods Using Cu-Cr Alloy Developed for Rocket Engines)

  • 로켓엔진용으로 개발된 구리크롬 합금에 대해 저주기 피로시험을 수행하고 여러가지 피로수명 예측방법을 이용해 예측수명을 구하여 이를 시험수명과 비교하여 보았다. 피로수명 예측방법으로는 Coffin-Manson 관계식, 소성 및 전 변형률 에너지 밀도 관계식, Smith-Watson-Topper 관계식, Tomkins 관계식, Jahed-Varvani 관계식 등 총 6가지 방법을 이용하였다. 피로 예측수명을 계산한 결과 모든 방법에서 시험수명 대비 분산범위 2 이내를 만족하였다. 예측수명 편차의 정량적 확인을 통해 전 변형률 에너지 밀도 관계식이 가장 우수한 결과를 나타냈다.

  • In this paper, a new procedure is proposed to accomplish the primary plus secondary stress(P+Q) at the 'structural element' instead of 'transition element'. For the P+Q evaluation, the calculated stresses by FEA are linearized along a stress classification line to extract the stress category, then the stress intensity is calculated to compare with the $3S_{m}$ limit. Also, in this paper, the 'design by analysis' criteria, adopted fundamental concepts and a new approach to calculate $K_{e}$ factors are explained. The new procedure combined with 3-D FEA has been applied to motor operated valve in order to the over conservatism and the rack of margin. The evaluation results show a good applicability and can be utilized for fatigue life evaluation by using P+Q.
