In this paper, we implemented cyber character that can do speech recognition, speech synthesis, Motion tracking and 3D animation. For speech recognition, we used Discrete-HMM algorithm with K-means 128 level vector quantization and MFCC feature vector. For speech synthesis, we used demi-syllables TD-PSOLA algorithm. For PC based Motion tracking, we present Fast Optical Flow like Method. And for animating 3D model, we used vertex interpolation with DirectSD retained mode. Finally, we implemented cyber character integrated above systems, which game calculating by the multiplication table with user and the cyber character always look at user using of Motion tracking system.

A lot of robot trajectory tracking methods are proposed to enhance the tracking error, but irregular tracking errors are always accompanied and very hard to reduce it. Up to now, these irregular tracking errors are reduced by introducing more complicated control algorithms. But, it is intuitively obvious to reduce only the big errors selectively in the irregular ones for the better performance instead of using more complicated control algorithms. By the characteristics of the robot, big tracking errors of the end-effector are generated mostly due to the fast moving of joint. So, in this paper, we introduce a new method which reduce the big tracking errors by clippings the joint velocity with the constraint of given path. Using this method, desired trajectory tracking is obtained within the far reduced error bound. Also, this method is successfully applied to generate the path-constrained error reducing trajectories for 2-axis SCARA type robot.
RGB-thermal (RGB-T) tracking using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) involves challenges with regards to the similarity of objects, occlusion, fast motion, and motion blur, among other issues. In this study, we propose dynamic tracking aggregation (DTA) as a unified framework to perform object detection and data association. The proposed approach obtains fused features based a transformer model and an L1-norm strategy. To link the current frame with recent information, a dynamically updated embedding called dynamic tracking identification (DTID) is used to model the iterative tracking process. For object association, we designed a long short-term tracking aggregation module for dynamic feature propagation to match spatial and temporal embeddings. DTA achieved a highly competitive performance in an experimental evaluation on public benchmark datasets.
As an important part of the Computer Vision, the object recognition and tracking function has infinite possibilities range from motion recognition to aerospace applications. One of methods to improve accuracy of the object recognition, are uses colors which have robustness of orientation, scale and occlusion. Computational cost for extracting features can be reduced by using color. Also, for fast object recognition, predicting the location of the object recognition in a smaller area is more effective than lowering accuracy of the algorithm. In this paper, we propose a method that uses SURF descriptors which applied with color model for improving recognition accuracy and combines with Kalman filter which is Motion estimation algorithm for fast object tracking. As a result, the proposed method classified objects which have same patterns with different colors and showed fast tracking results by performing recognition in ROI which estimates future motion of an object.

This paper proposes a fast face detection and tracking method which uses depth images as well as RGB images. It consists of the face detection procedure and the face tracking procedure. The face detection method basically uses an existing method, Adaboost, but it reduces the size of the search area by using the depth image. The proposed face tracking method uses a template matching technique and incorporates an early-termination scheme to reduce the execution time further. The results from implementing and experimenting the proposed methods showed that the proposed face detection method takes only about 39% of the execution time of the existing method. The proposed tracking method takes only 2.48ms per frame with $640{\times}480$ resolution. For the exactness, the proposed detection method showed a little lower in detection ratio but in the error ratio, which is for the cases when a detected one as a face is not really a face, the proposed method showed only about 38% of that of the previous method. The proposed face tracking method turned out to have a trade-off relationship between the execution time and the exactness. In all the cases except a special one, the tracking error ratio is as low as about 1%. Therefore, we expect the proposed face detection and tracking methods can be used individually or in combined for many applications that need fast execution and exact detection or tracking.

A Particle Image Velocimetry(PIV) algorithm is developed to analyze whole flow field both qualitatively and quantitatively. The practical use of PIV requires the use of fast, reliable, computer-based methods for tracking numerous particles suspended in a flow field. The TSS, NTSS, FFT-Hybrid, which are developed in the area of image compression and coding, are introduced to develop fast vector search algorithm. The numerical solution of the lid-driven cavity flow by the ADI algorithm with the Wachspress Formula is introduced to produce synthetic data for the validation of the tracking algorithms. The algorithms are applied to image data of real flow experiments. The comparisons in CPU time and mean error show, with a small loss of accuracy, CPU time for tracking is reduced considerably.

We propose an eye gaze tracking system under natural head movements. The system consists of one CCD camera and two front-surface mirrors. The mirrors rotate to follow head movements in order to keep the eye within the view of the camera. However, the mirror controller cannot guarantee the fast head movements, because the frame rate is generally 30Hz. To overcome this problem, we applied Kalman predictor to estimate next eye position from the current eye image. In the results, our system allows the subjects head to move 50cm horizontally and 40cm vertically, with the speed about 10cm/sec and 6cm/sec, respectively. And spatial gaze resolutions are about 4.5 degree and 4.5 degree, respectively, and the gaze estimation accuracy is 92% under natural head movements.
This paper presents the implementation-tation of the real-time software GPS Receiver based on FFT and FLL assisted PLL tracking algorithm. The FFT(fast fourier transform) based GPS si-gnal acquisition scheme provides a fast TTFF(time to first fix) performance. The tracking based on FLL assisted PLL enables tracking of GPS signal in a high dynamic environment. The designed software GPS receiver uses the indexing method for generating replica carrier to reduce computation load. The performance of the implemented GPS receiver is evaluated using high-dynamic simulated data from a simulator and real static data.
A new sliding surface for a viaraible structure control(VSC) law is emplyed to achieve fast and robust path tracking in a class of second-order nonlinear unceratin dynamical systems. The surface onitialy passes arbitrarily given initial conditions and subsequently moves towards a predetermined surface via rotaiting or/and shifting. We call it as a moving sliding surface(MSS). The surface is then incorporated with the VSC law which is constructed by imposing the sliding conditions in a special way. We primarily enforce the conditions which assume that once the system state is on a sliding surface that it is driven towards the zero state. Using the VSC law associatied with the MSS, it is shown that the tracking behavoirs are remarkably improved in the sene of the fastness and the robustness.

A better tracking performance can be achieved, if visual sensors such as CCD cameras are used in controling a robot manipulator, than when only relative sensors such as encoders are used. However, for precise visual servoing of a robot manipulator, an expensive vision system which has fast sampling rate must be used. Moreover, even if a fast vision system is implemented for visual servoing, one cannot get a reliable performance without use of robust and stable inner joint servo-loop. In this paper, we propose a dynamic control scheme for robot manipulators with eye-in-hand camera configuration, where a dynamic learning controller is designed to improve the tracking performance of robotic system. The proposed control scheme is implemented for tasks of tracking moving objects and shown to be robust to parameter uncertainty, disturbances, low sampling rate, etc.
