성별과 세대에 따른 부모됨의 동기 및 저출산 현상에 대한 인식 (Motivations of Parenthood & Perceptions of Low Fertility according to Sex and Generations)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the college students' and married adults' perceptions of the current low fertility and their motivations of parenthood. It also verifies the gender differences in the numbers of planned children between male and female college students. The sample population included 100 unmarried undergraduate students and 100 married adults. The measurements included in the questionnaire were based on recommendations from the literature review. The major findings of this study are as follows: Women reported higher levels of traditional-normal and altruistic-emotional motivations of parenthood than men did. College students reported higher levels of motivations of parenthood to strengthen biological family ties than married adults did, while adults reported higher levels of martial bond-strengthening, traditional-normal, and gene-preservative motivations of parenthood than students did. College students attributed the current low fertility to the tight labor market and high costs of childbirth and rearing while married adults attributed to gender-discriminating traditional family norms, increasing infertility, and poor conditions of pregnancy and childbirth. Female and adult respondents took the social problems caused by the current low fertility more seriously than their counterparts did.

베트남과 한국 대학생의 효의식과 부모됨의 동기에 관한 비교국가연구 (A Cross-National Investigation into the Filial Piety and Motivations for Parenthood among Vietnamese and Korean College Students)

  • This study empirically examined the effects of filial piety on motivations for parenthood among Vietnamese and Korean college students, who represent a generation of young adults and prospective parents in both countries. The Vietnamese data were collected from 325 college students enrolled in three universities located in Hanoi and Korean data were collected from 216 students from a single large university in Seoul. Student respondents were asked to complete the self-administered questionnaire including 'Filial Piety Scale' and 'Motivations for Parenthood Scale.' The results revealed that the Vietnamese students reported a significantly higher level of 'general filial piety' than their Korean counterparts. Vietnamese and Korean participants showed no significant difference in total motivations for parenthood. Among the five sub-factors of motivations for parenthood, however, the Vietnamese students were more likely to place a value on the expansion of self-motivation while their Korean counterparts considered the motivation to strengthen biological family ties to be more salient. Finally, after controlling for sociodemographic characteristics, hierarchical regression analysis revealed that the more filial Vietnamese and Korean college students were towards their parents, the more child-related motives they held in general. The results are discussed in relation to each country's degree of modernization and to recommend prospective family planning and population policies in Vietnam based on the experiences of Korea industrialization.

가족건강성이 대학생의 몰입에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Family Strength on College Students' Flow)

  • Objecives: This study was performed to analyze the effect of the family strength perceived by college students on flow. Methods: To achieve this purpose, a survey on the family strength and flow was conducted on 113 male college students and 187 female college students. Correlation analysis and independent sample t-test were carried out among the variables, and regression analysis was performed to examine the effect of the family strength on flow. Results: The results are as follows. Firstly, the family strength of the college students had a static correlation with flow. Secondly, the examination on the difference between the male and female college students in the family strength and the flow revealed that the family strength and flow of male students were significantly higher than those of the female students. Thirdly, according to the analysis on the influence of family strength on flow when the sociodemographic background was controlled, the shared value system among family members, the ability of problem solving, and ties with family members from the sub-factors of family strength had significant effect on the sub-factors of flow. Conclusions: Through the above results, this study identified that family strength is important for college students who have greater independence and freedom than in middle and high school, and the higher family strength was, the higher flow was. This result can be used as a basis to prepare a practical intervention plan to increase the flow of college students.

기러기아빠의 생활 변화와 적응 문제 (The 'Kirogi` Fathers' Changes of Lives and Adaptation Problems)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the changes of lives and problems of 'Kirogi'(or Wild Goose) fathers, who were called fathers in the 'Kirogi' families, South Korean families separated by an ocean. They almost sent too much money that were $50-100\%$ of their family income to the families abroad, and got economic pressures so severely. More or less, they sold their own real estates, moved to much smaller sized house. and often expended the saving money. Also, they had difficulties of taking care of their children and felt lonely very much. By the hand, they might experience the adaptation process through 3 stages-troubles, acception(or wandering or enjoy), adjust (or violation). They had three types of problems, that is, family relationship problem(the isolation), psychological problem(loneliness and self-control), economic problem (financial pressure and drop of economic status). They found the strategies to overcome these problems for themselves. Firstly, they took lots of methods like email, internet chatting, phone, etc. to communicate with their family everyday and made many events to strengthen the ties among families. Secondly, they got rid of stresses mainly by joining with their colleagues at work. Finally, they decided to lower the standard of living of their family in foreign country or tried to find their wives' jobs to prevent the financial hardship.

建全家庭 育成을 위한 家族福祉 프로그램 開發에 관한 硏究 - 家族生活 敎育을 中心으로 - (A Study on the Development of Family Welfare Program for Strengthening Family Life - Special Reference to Family Life Education -)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop Family Welfare Program for strengthening Family Life, especially focused on the Family Life Education. In order to perform the above research purpose, this study was organized three sections. First, conceptualizing strong family second, measurement the degree of strong family third, is about the Family Life Education. I defined that the concept of strong family is functional family that is family members(husbands & wives)perform successfully internal family functions. I measured the strong family by means of family function performance scale which is composed by 54 questionnaires. Through the survey study with the family function performance scale. I recognized the necessity of Family Life Education for strengthening family function. Family Life Education(FLE)is an educational specialty which was originated in reaction to changing social conditions, industrialization, and urbanization. It deals with the perceive inadequacies of families to cope with these changes, thereby reducing social problems involved with, and improving family life. With and assumption that the studies about FLE have not been so active in Korea, the present thesis examines the FLE in Korea : i.e., the defintion, the objectives, the scope, the approximation of family life education, and the necessity of marital education in Korea based upon the published theories of FLE in the United States of America. Also, it attemps to formulate tentative plan for the promotion of a FLE program in Korea. The concept of FLE in Korea was mainfested itn the social educational law and lifespan institutional, governmental attention. It is defined as "the family life education to enhance the quality of human life, to solve family problems, to develop and individual's potentiality, and to strengthen the family interaction." Of the FLE program, the marital education is considered one of the crucial subjects because it is the core of the family life. With this premise, FLE tries to support the healthy marital relations, subsequently helping to explore the family potentiality and to strengthen family ties. Considering the seemingly dual characteristics of the contents of marital educations, and effective expressions of mutual affection. In addition, reciprocal understanding and cooperation of the married couples to overcome the differences of value, personality, hobby, and religion, the educational methods in child rearing kids, and the effective management of home economics should be included. The objects of the FLE program are unmarried, pre-married, and married persons. For the married persons, the FLE program should be arranged in accordance with their marital status classified by the family life cycle so that they amy prevent possible family problems t each stages of the family life. Also, to prevent the problems incurred in the course of carrying out family functions, the FLE program should be provided with on the basis of a family unit, there by improving the quality of the family functions.

가족/친족 구조의 해체와 재구성 II : 농촌지역 실태조사를 중심으로 (Disintegration and Reconstruction of the Family/Kinship Structure Among the Rural Families of Korea)

  • This study focused on the disintegration and reconstruction of the family/kinship structure among the rural families of Korea. For this study, detailed data about the value related to the family/kinship, the family relationship, The attitude of divorce and remarriage, the social network, and the family/kin rites are gathered A total 593 subjects completed structured questionnaires. Major conclusion of the study are as follows : First, most of the rural respondents are found to support familism and boy preference slightly, and not to agree the reward of child value. So, their attitudes toward traditional values are changing slowly than urban residents. Second, the rural respondents shared the common perceptions that spousal and parent-child relationships has been changed toward the direction that the positions of wives and children are respected and the their influences are increased in the past 10 years. In addition, generational differences in the perceptions of relationship change and appropriate roles of wives and husbands are discovered. However, sex differences previously revealed in Seoul study were not found in the case of rural respondents. Third, generally, there are both remaining and changing aspects of conservative attitude toward divorce and remarriage, the level of change is different according to age and sex. And the difference by age is stronger than by sex. Fourth, the social networks of the respondents is characterized by two distinct trends, namely, strong parent-adult child ties and the close relationships between neighbors. fifthly, in the family/kin rites, traditional aspects coexist with changing aspects under the influence of industrialization and westernization. But the aspects of attitudes toward rites, it is showed the non-traditional tendency. Respondents who support westernization and socialization of family rites are young, highly eamed, and Christian.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop Family Life Education program for Marital education in Korea. In order to realize the about research purpose, this study is divided into three sections. First, nature conception and contents f Family Life Education, second, patterns and models for Family Life Education Program in USA and Korea, and Third, the future of Family Life Education. Family Life Education (FLE) is an education originated in reaction to changing social conditions, industrialization and urbanization, it deals with the perceived inadequacies of families to cope with these changes, thereby reduction social problems involved with, and improving family life. With and assumption that the studies about FLE have not been so active in Korea, the present thesis examines the FLE in Korea. The necessity of marital education in Korea Is based upon the theories of FLE in the United States of America. Also, it atempts to formulate a tentative plan for the promotion of a FLE program in Korea. The concept of FLE in Korea was manifested in the social educational law and life-span education. specified as 4th among ten presidential regulations. It is defined as " the Life-span developmental education to enhance the quality of human life, to solve family problems, to develop an individual's potentiality and to strengthen the family relations. of the FLE programs, the marital education is considered one of the furcial wubjects becaused it is the core of the family life. For the FLE to be practised more widely systematically, research on family education--that is basic study, research and production and evaluation or the FLE to be carried out by research institute wholly responsible for it-- should be done first.

교육박물관에서의 "교육문화 페스티벌" 개최를 통해 본 가족 참여 교육 가능성 고찰 (A Study on the Possibility of Family Particpation Education through the "Educational Culture Festival" at the Educational Museum)

  • 최근 여가 문화 비중이 날로 증가하면서 레저 관광 문화에 대한 관심 증대와 동시에 질 높은 문화 향유에 대한 기대치가 높아지고 있다. 초 중 고 자녀들의 견문 넓히기를 위해 주말이면 나들이를 떠나는 인구 비중 역시 문화 향유 기대치와 비례하여 계속 늘고 있는 추세다. 관람객의 주말 가족 단위 여행을 통한 체험은 휴식과 놀이는 물론 교육적인 목적을 포함한 활동이기를 기대한다. 최근 교육 프로그램은 과거 아이들만 현장에 맡기는 탁아형에서 벗어나 부모가 교육 활동에 개입하는 공유형으로 나아가고 있는 추세이며, 가족간 결속과 가족 탄력성이 은연중에 스며들도록 하는 잠재적 교육과정의 실현이 매우 중요해졌다. 교육의 효과는 한순간의 경험으로 끝나는 마침표가 아니라 반복된 훈련과 경험의 연속성을 통해 발현된다. 가족 간의 긴밀한 친화력과 소통, 공감 능력도 마찬가지이다. 가족이 함께 참여할 수 있는 체험과 교육의 기회 제공은 가족해체와 1인 가구 증가에 따른 결속력 회복을 위한 국가차원의 책무이다. 나아가 오늘날 박물관 미술관의 역할이자 의무이며 이를 통해 가족 결속력, 가족 친화력을 북돋을 수 있는 방안을 마련해야 한다. 특히나 교육박물관에서의 교육적 목적 실현을 위한 교육 프로그램 개발과 제공은 필수적이며, 사회적 차원의 '가족을 위한 교육'개발은 필연적이다. 본 고에서는 교육박물관에서의 가족 교육 프로그램 제공을 통한 온가족 참여 교육 결과를 가족 대상 설문과 인터뷰를 통해 분석해보고 보다 적극적인 가족 형태의 교육활성화를 제고하고자 한다.

청소년 학업중단의 가족 및 사회환경적 요인 분석 연구 (An Analysis Study on Family and Socio-environmental Factors of Adolescents' School Dropout)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 가족요인과 사회환경적 요인이 청소년의 학업중단 행동에 영향을 미치는 경로를 밝혀 청소년의 학업중단 행동을 예방 혹은 해결하기 위한 시사점을 찾으려는 것이다. 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 J시 상담센터에 접수된 120명의 위기청소년을 대상으로 관련 변인을 측정한 후 자료를 분석하였다. 연구의 결과는 첫째, 가족 구조적 요인으로서 가정경제수준과 결손가정은 가족유대감과 일탈친구 요인을 매개로 학업중단 행동에 영향을 미친다. 둘째, 가족심리적 요인으로서 가족갈등은 학업중단의 직접적인 요인은 아니며, 가족유대감은 일탈친구와 무단결석 요인과 결합되어 학업중단 행동에 영향을 미친다. 셋째, 사회환경적 요인으로서 무단결석은 가족유대감과 일탈친구, 일탈친구는 가족유대감과 무단결석 요인을 매개로 학업중단 행동에 영향을 미친다. 이러한 연구 결과는 청소년의 학업중단 행동은 주로 가족심리적 요인으로서 가족유대감과, 사회환경적 요인으로서 일탈친구 요인이 가장 큰 영향을 미친다는 점을 확인시켜 주는 것이다. 따라서 이러한 요인의 개선 혹은 관련 프로그램의 개발 운영이 청소년의 학업중단 행동을 예방하고 개선하는 데 도움이 될 것이다.

한국사회의 신뢰와 불신에 관한 심리학 연구의 과제 및 제언 (Tasks and Suggestions for Psychological Researchers on the Trust and Mistrust of Korean Society)

  • 이 글은 본 특집호에 게재된 여덟 편의 논문을 소개하면서 현재 한국 사회의 신뢰와 불신에 대한 연구의 과제를 문화심리학적 입장에서 제안한 것이다. 한국의 전통적 문화에서 신뢰는 혈연을 기초로 맺어진 부자 관계를 중심으로 한 가족적 관계에서 배태된 것이라는 점을 밝히고 계약에 의해 맺어진 부부 관계를 기반으로 한 시장적 관계에서 배태된 서양의 신뢰와는 서로 다른 의미가 있다는 점을 밝혔다. 이런 의미에서 전통적 가족 관계가 급하게 해체되어 가는 현재 한국 사회는 불신의 사회가 아니라 신뢰부재의 사회라고 명명하였다. 그리고 앞으로의 심리학적 연구는 이런 한국적 문화의 특성을 충분히 배려한 토착심리학적 고려를 바탕으로 수행되어야 한다고 제안하였다.
