추락위험 방지용 보호구로서 안전모 규정에 관한 고찰 (A Survey on Regulations of Safety Helmet for Preventing Fall Hazard)

  • The Occupational Safety and Health Act holds that industrial safety helmets can be used as protective equipment to prevent the risk of injury in fall accidents. To better understand the importance given to PPE for the head, we analyzed the relevant regulations and guidelines in developed countries and reviewed the guidelines on testing safety helmets. The PPE regulations in Korea were notably different from those in other countries. First, except in Korea and Japan, safety helmets were used for protection against falling objects, flying objects, impact, or electric shock. However, the regulations did not recognize safety helmets as a PPE against fall hazards. Second, the impact energy applied on the helmet was within the range 50-100 J, and the helmet could protect only the upper part of the head against hazards such as the impact of falling objects, flying objects, etc. Third, in Korean regulations, the term "fall" was used in relation to the parts where the safety helmet was specified as a fall hazard PPE, unlike in other countries. We propose that the term "fall" should be revised to "shock" in Korean regulations for the safety helmet.

사망재해의 원인분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on Analysis of Causes for Fatal Accidents)

  • This study is conducted to analyze exact causes of occupational fatalities and results are as follows : 1) The number of fatalities in establislment which employed less than 50 workers is 605(40.1% ). Age of sixties and seventies is occupied by 10 percent with there being old-aged trend. Fatal workers who were employed less than 3 months are 39.5 percent and fatal workers who were employed more than 10 years are 11.9 percent. Safety training is necessary for newly recruited and long employed workers. 2) Accident type is, in sequence, fall from elevation, traffic accident, disease, contact with electric current, and hazardous condition is, in order, inadequate guard, hazardous method or procedure, public hazard, and agency of accident is, in sequence, temporary structure/building/structure, powered transport vehicle, passenger vehicle, hoisting or lifting apparatus, and unsafe act is, in order, driving error, failure to secure or warn. 3) The results of cross-tabulation for hazardous condition and accident type is, in sequence, traffic accident by public hazard, fall from elevation by hazardous method or procedure, fall from elevation as well as contact with elctric current by inadequate guard. The result of cross-tabulation for agency of accident and accident type is, in order, fall from elevation by temporary structure/building/structure, traffic accident of passenger vehicle and powered transport vehicle, contact with electric apparatus. The result of cross-tabulation for agency of accident and hazardous condition is, in sequence, public hazard of passenger vehicle, hazardous method or procedure of temporary structure/building/structure, publit hazard of powered transport vehicle, inadequate guard of temporary structure/building/structure. The result of cross-tabulation for unsafe act and accident type is, in sequence, traffic accident by driving error, fall from elevation by inattention to footing or surrounding, contact with electric current by secure or warn.

화산재 강하로부터의 영향 고찰 (Review about the Impacts from Volcanic Ash Fall)

  • 화산 분화 시 방출되는 물질은 화산가스, 용암, 화성쇄설물이 있다. 화성쇄설물 중 입자크기가 작은(직경 2 mm 이하) 화산재는 쉽게 이동하여 먼 거리까지 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 공기 중에 부유한 화산재 입자는 강하재가 되어 지표에 퇴적된다. 이러한 강하재가 미치는 영향은 퇴적되는 두께에 따라 달라진다. 퇴적되는 화산재의 두께가 증가할수록 피해의 규모는 커지고 그 영향 범위 또한 넓어지며, 보건 및 사회 기반 시설에 대한 영향도 심각해진다. 따라서 강하재의 영향에 따른 피해 저감을 위해 재해의 본질과 정도, 영향에 대한 지침을 마련하고 지역사회의 위험 관리 능력 향상을 위한 대비 조치를 마련해야 한다. 백두산을 비롯한 한반도 주변 지역에서 앞으로 일어날 수 있는 화산 분화로 인한 강하재의 영향에 대비할 필요가 있다.

이동통신 기지국 공사의 위험요인 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Hazard Analyses of Construction for Base Station of Mobile Communication)

  • As the domestic communication industry has been made rapid progresses, the construction of base stations are also expanded yearly from more than 86,000 ones in the year 2005 to over 300,000 ones in 2013. While the new construction and rebuilt works have been rapidly increased, there has been not tried about the analysis as well as the control of hazards for the construction works. This study is conducted to do not only the focus interview for 27 expert groups who are engaged in the construction works and safety, but also the questionnaires for AHP analysis which is suggested by the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency for 92 persons who are engaged in the construction works in order to analyze the hazards of construction works for base stations. The high ranked risk works which are acquired from the two methods are fall under installation of antennae, struck by the hand tools and construction materials under installation of antennae, fall during going up and down the steel tower and telegraph poles and the fall by electric shock during the underground cable works. The control for the above hazards are the installation of fall protection equipments, the installation of safety nets for falling objects and the installation of protection equipment of electric shock.

계절별 수확적기 양상추의 품질평가 및 위해요소 분석 (Evaluation of Quality and Analysis of Hazard Management at Different Seasons of Lettuce)

  • 양상추의 계절별(봄, 여름, 가을) 품질 차이 여부를 알아보기 위하여 일반성분, 색차, 클로로필, vitamin C 및 조직감을 측정하였으며 또한 양상추의 위해요소를 알아보기 위하여 48종의 잔류 농약을 측정하였다. 가식부 중량은 여름(953.40 g)>봄(912.27 g)>가을(895.28 g)에 수확한 양상추 순으로 나타났지만 당도는 봄에 수거한 시료가 가장 높게 측정되었다. 전체적인 색은 여름 양상추가 가장 밝은 색을 나타내었고, 다른 계절과 비교하여 가을 양상추는 노란 빛이 뚜렷하고 녹색 빛은 적은 것으로 나타났다. 무기질 함량은 가을에 수거된 시료에 가장 많이 함유되어 있었으며 또한 계절에 관계 없이 전체적으로는 칼륨 함량이 다른 무기성분에 비해 전체적으로 높게 측정되었다. 시료의 항산화능을 유추할 수 있는 chlorophyll과 vitamin C는 봄, 가을에 수거한 시료가 여름에 수거한 시료보다 높게 측정되어 전반적으로 여름에 수거한 양상추가 중량은 크지만 품질 면에서는 약간 떨어진 것으로 판단되어진다. 또한 계절별 양상추에서 검출되어진 잔류 농약은 chlorthalonil이었지만 그 양은 매우 미미하다고 판단되어진다.

5치 논리 시률레이션에서 효율적인 헤저드 분석을 위한 TRF 지연 모델 (A New TRZF Delay Model for the Effcient Hazard Analysis in a 5-valued Logic Simulation)

  • 본 논문은 1치 논리 시뮬레이션 환경에서 효율적인 헤저드 분석을 위한새로운 TRF( Transition Rise/Fall)지연모델을 제안한다. 주어진 회로에 있어서 헤저드 분석을 수행 하기 위해 우선 응답시간 지연과 천이시간 지연을 허용하는 5치 논리 시뮬레이터 에 의해서 타이밍 분석이 수행되고, 이미 수행된 타이밍 관계를 조사하므로써 헤저드 를 검출할 수 있다.몇 개의 예제회로에 대해서 시뮬레이션을 수행한 결과를 통하여 제안한 방법을 실용성을 입증하였다.

건설공사의 추락재해예방을 위한 설계안전기법의 효과성 분석 (Effectiveness of Fatal Fall Accident Prevention through Design for Safety in Construction Industry)

  • Construction industry is considered as one of the most high-risk industries for work-related injuries and fatalities, accounting for more than half of fatalities in Korea. Advanced countries have recognized the critical role of designers in preventing construction accidents and have established regulations on design for safety. In line with this, the Korean government have also implemented regulations that require owners and designers to review the safety of design outcomes. However, it has been observed that designers face challenges in identifying hazards and integrating design solutions at the design stage mainly due to their shortage of required knowledge and skills. This study aimed to examine design solutions that can be applied to prevent fall accidents in the construction industry, and to establish a relationship between these solutions and fatal fall accidents occurred over the past three years in Korea. This study also analyzed the relationships of four variables (construction type, cost, work type, and fall location) with design solutions. The results indicated that all four variables have significant relationships with design solutions, with fall location showing the strongest relationship. The design solutions and their relationships with fatal fall accidents identified in this study can be utilized in identifying hazard and integrating design solutions to ensure design for safety.

다단식(다단식) 토석류 방호책을 이용한 재해방지 시스템 (Hazard Prevention using Multi-Level Debris Flow Barriers)

  • Debris flows are a natural hazard which looks like a combination of flood, land and rock slide. Large rainfall in July 2006 produced several large scale debris flows and many small debris flows that resulted in loss of life and considerable property and railway damage, as was widely reported in the national media. The hazard "debris flow" is still insufficiently researched. Furthermore debris flows are very hard to predict. Flexible Ring net barriers are multi-functional mitigation devices commonly applied to rock fall or floating wood protection in floods, snow avalanches and also mud flows or granular debris flows, if properly dimensioned for the process or processes for which they are intended. Overtopping of the barriers by debris flows and sediment transport is possible, supporting the design concept that a series of barriers may be used to stop volumes of debris larger than are possible using only one barrier. The future for these barrier concepts looks promising because these barriers represent the state of art for such applications and are superior to many other available options.

Assessment of occupational radiation exposure of NORM scales residues from oil and gas production

  • Radiological hazards from external exposure of naturally occurring radioactive materials (NORM) scales residues, generated during the extraction process of oil and gas production in southern Algeria, are evaluated. The activity concentrations of 226Ra, 232Th, and 40K were measured using high-purity gamma-ray spectrometry (GeHP). Mean activity concentration of 226Ra, 232Th and 40K, found in scale samples are 4082 ± 41, 1060 ± 38 and 568 ± 36 Bq kg-1, respectively. Radiological hazard parameters, such as radium equivalent (Raeq), external and internal hazard indices (Hex, Hin), and gamma index (Iγ) are also evaluated. All hazard parameter values were greater than the permissible and recommended limits and the average annual effective dose value exceeded the dose constraint (0.3 mSv y-1). However, for occasionally exposed workers, the dose rate of 0.65 ± 0.02 mSv y-1 is lower than recommended limit of 1 mSv y-1 for public.

LOSIM : VLSI의 설계검증을 위한 논리 시뮬레이션 프로그램 (LOSIM : Logic Simulation Program for VLSI)

  • 본 논문은 mixed level에서 VLSI회로의 논리설계를 검증하기 위한 논리 레벨 시뮬레이터인 LOSM(LOgic SIMulatos)에 대해서 논의한다. 본논문에서는 8개의 신호값과 2개의 신호강도를 이용하여 일반소자, 기능소자, transmission게이트 그리고 tri-state 게이트의 경우 종래의 시뮬레이터$^{[5~6,9]}$보다 정확한 결과를 얻을 수 있는 모델링 방법을 제안한다. LOSIM은 rise delay와 fall delay를 사용하여 주어진 회로에 대한 타이밍 분석과 hazard 분석이 가능하다. Hazard분석 및 검출은 5상태의 신호값과 time queue를 이용한 scheduled time을 이용한다. 개발된 알고리듬은 SUN-3/160 워크그테이션상에서 C-언어를 사용하여 구현되었으며, 정적 RAM셀과 비동기 회로에 대해서 프로그램의 동작 예재로 하였다.
