명암효과와 질감매핑을 이용한 얼굴영상 합성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Facial Image Synthesis Using Texture Mapping and Shading Effect)

  • 질감매핑은 대부분의 모델기반 부호화 시스템에서 영상합성 방식으로 사용 되어진다. 이 영상합성 방법은 정면 얼굴영상의 질감정보로만 영상을 합성한다. 따라서, 모델이 회전 되었을 때, 질감매핑은 명암측면에서 어색한 영상을 합성할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 명암효과를 고려한 새로운 질감매핑이 연구되었다. 또한 회전에 대비하여 귀의 철선프레임과 머리카락의 변화를 부가하였다. 제안된 방식을 이용하여 실험한 결과, 자연스러운 영상합성이 가능하였다.

3차원 결정소성 유한요소해석을 통한 변형 집합조직 예측 (Prediction of Deformation Texture Based on a Three-Dimensional Crystal Plasticity Finite Element Method)

  • Crystallographic texture evolution during forming processes has a significant effect on the anisotropic flow behavior of crystalline material. In this study, a crystal plasticity finite element method (CPFEM), which incorporates the crystal plasticity constitutive law into a three-dimensional finite element method, was used to investigate texture evolution of a face-centered-cubic material - an aluminum alloy. A rate-dependent polycrystalline theory was fully implemented within an in-house program, CAMPform3D. Each integration point in the element was considered to be a polycrystalline aggregate consisting of a large number of grains, and the deformation of each grain in the aggregate was assumed to be the same as the macroscopic deformation of the aggregate. The texture evolution during three different deformation modes - uniaxial tension, uniaxial compression, and plane strain compression - was investigated in terms of pole figures and compared to experimental data available in the literature.

A Fast and Accurate Face Tracking Scheme by using Depth Information in Addition to Texture Information

  • This paper proposes a face tracking scheme that is a combination of a face detection algorithm and a face tracking algorithm. The proposed face detection algorithm basically uses the Adaboost algorithm, but the amount of search area is dramatically reduced, by using skin color and motion information in the depth map. Also, we propose a face tracking algorithm that uses a template matching method with depth information only. It also includes an early termination scheme, by a spiral search for template matching, which reduces the operation time with small loss in accuracy. It also incorporates an additional simple refinement process to make the loss in accuracy smaller. When the face tracking scheme fails to track the face, it automatically goes back to the face detection scheme, to find a new face to track. The two schemes are experimented with some home-made test sequences, and some in public. The experimental results are compared to show that they outperform the existing methods in accuracy and speed. Also we show some trade-offs between the tracking accuracy and the execution time for broader application.

Three-Dimensional Face Point Cloud Smoothing Based on Modified Anisotropic Diffusion Method

  • This paper presents the results of three-dimensional face point cloud smoothing based on a modified anisotropic diffusion method. The focus of this research was to obtain a 3D face point cloud with a smooth texture and number of vertices equal to the number of vertices input during the smoothing process. Different from other methods, such as using a template D face model, modified anisotropic diffusion only uses basic concepts of convolution and filtering which do not require a complex process. In this research, we used 6D point cloud face data where the first 3D point cloud contained data pertaining to noisy x-, y-, and z-coordinate information, and the other 3D point cloud contained data regarding the red, green, and blue pixel layers as an input system. We used vertex selection to modify the original anisotropic diffusion. The results show that our method has improved performance relative to the original anisotropic diffusion method.

얼굴 영상의 합성에 관한 연구 (A Study On Holistic Synthesis Human Face Images)

  • 본 논문에서는 전체적으로 묘사된 얼굴의 특징을 이용하여 얼굴 영상을 합성하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 얼굴의 형태를 대조하는 방법을 이용하여 만든 원영상의 작은 부분 영상들을 가지고 얼굴을 재현하였으며 얼굴 영상에서 2차원적 형태와 구조를 분리함으로서 음영부분과 경계부분을 표현할 수 있었으며, 영상과 영상의 특성을 나타내는 얼굴 부분영역을 조화롭게 재배치함으로서 합성을 가능케 하였다. 실험결과 본 논문에서 제안된 방법으로 합성한 얼굴 영상은 항상 자연스러운 얼굴 영상을 나타냄으로서 제안된 방법의 실효성을 입증하였다.

3D 스캔 데이터를 이용한 얼굴 애니메이션 시스템 (A Facial Animation System Using 3D Scanned Data)

  • 본 논문에서는 3차원 얼굴 스캔 데이터와 사진 이미지를 이용하여 고화질의 3차원 얼굴 모델과 모핑 애니메이션을 생성하는 시스템 개발에 대해 기술한다. 본 시스템은 얼굴 특징점 입력 도구, 얼굴 텍스처매핑 인터페이스, 3차원 얼굴 모핑 인터페이스로 구성되어 있다. 얼굴 특징점 입력 도구는 3차원 텍스처매핑과 모핑 애니메이션을 위한 보조 도구로서 얼굴의 특징점을 입력하여 텍스처매핑과 임의의 두 얼굴간의 모핑 영역을 정할 때 사용된다. 텍스처매핑은 3D 스캐너로부터 획득한 얼굴의 기하 데이터에 세 방향의 사진 이미지를 이용하여 매핑한다. 3D 얼굴모핑은 얼굴 특징점 입력 도구로부터 얻은 특징점을 중심으로 얼굴 영역을 분류하여 임의의 두 얼굴 간의 영역간 매핑을 실현한다. 본 시스템은 사용자가 별도의 프로그래밍 작업 없이 대화형 인터페이스에서 3D 스캐너에서 획득한 얼굴 메쉬 데이터를 이용하여 사진 이미지로 텍스처 매핑을 실행하여 사실적인 3D 얼굴 모델을 얻을 수 있고, 임의의 서로 다른 얼굴 모델들간의 모핑 애니메이션을 쉽게 실현할 수가 있다.

Masked Face Recognition via a Combined SIFT and DLBP Features Trained in CNN Model

  • The latest global COVID-19 pandemic has made the use of facial masks an important aspect of our lives. People are advised to cover their faces in public spaces to discourage illness from spreading. Using these face masks posed a significant concern about the exactness of the face identification method used to search and unlock telephones at the school/office. Many companies have already built the requisite data in-house to incorporate such a scheme, using face recognition as an authentication. Unfortunately, veiled faces hinder the detection and acknowledgment of these facial identity schemes and seek to invalidate the internal data collection. Biometric systems that use the face as authentication cause problems with detection or recognition (face or persons). In this research, a novel model has been developed to detect and recognize faces and persons for authentication using scale invariant features (SIFT) for the whole segmented face with an efficient local binary texture features (DLBP) in region of eyes in the masked face. The Fuzzy C means is utilized to segment the image. These mixed features are trained significantly in a convolution neural network (CNN) model. The main advantage of this model is that can detect and recognizing faces by assigning weights to the selected features aimed to grant or provoke permissions with high accuracy.

벡터표현 기반의 연령변화에 따른 얼굴 변환 (Face Transform with Age-progressing based on Vector Representation)

  • 본 연구에서는 벡터 변환 기법을 이용하여 연령변화에 따른 얼굴변환 기법을 제안 하였다. 제안한 기법은 주관성을 배제하고 일관성과 신뢰성을 높이기 위하여 모핑과 벡터 모델을 적용하였다. 또한, 형태에 따른 질감변화 요인을 정의하고 내부 외부 환경 변화에 대한 형태 변환 요소를 고려하였다. 제안한 방법의 타당성을 확인하기 위하여 실험결과를 정성적인 방법으로 유사성 평가를 수행하였는 바, 14세부터 60세까지의 얼굴 변환 결과가 매우 유사하게 평가 되었다.

  • This paper focused on the possibility of face recognition using Flexible let Point Setting method in Gabor Filter Based Face Recognition. Gabor Filter is very sensible to the Texture variation. Therefore, any little change in the face expression or rotation of posture make recognition rate down significantly. A suggested solution for this problem is the Flexible Jet Point Setting. A significant effect of this method is that the number of Jet Point has been reduced from over 150 to under 30 even though the change of recognition rate between two methods is neglectable, Furthermore a set of feature values which results from a set of Gabor filtering became insensible to face variation such as expression, rotation, and light effect. Retinex Algorithm which has been developed by NASA are used as pre-processing.

Facial Feature Extraction with Its Applications

  • Purpose In the many face-related application such as head pose estimation, 3D face modeling, facial appearance manipulation, the robust and fast facial feature extraction is necessary. We present the facial feature extraction method based on shape regression and feature selection for real-time facial feature extraction. Materials and Methods The facial features are initialized by statistical shape model and then the shape of facial features are deformed iteratively according to the texture pattern which is selected on the feature pool. Results We obtain fast and robust facial feature extraction result with error less than 4% and processing time less than 12 ms. The alignment error is measured by average of ratio of pixel difference to inter-ocular distance. Conclusion The accuracy and processing time of the method is enough to apply facial feature based application and can be used on the face beautification or 3D face modeling.
