The Investigation on the Behavior of Beam-Column Joint with High and Low Strength Concerte (고강도와 보통강도 콘크리트를 사용한 보-기둥 접합부의 구조적 거동)

The purpose of this investigation is to suggest the basic information for the structural safety, The major variables are com preSSlve strength of concrete, shear confinement ratio, and loading types. The test results showed that the load capaCIty of speCImen subjected to monotOI1lC loading had more than that of specimen subjected to one way cyclic loading. The failure modes of specimens under cyclic loading were concentrated at 5-20cm apart region from beam-column joint face and ductility index are increased with increasing of shear confinement ratio.   • High speed railway bridge is affected on safety of bridge by dynamic amplification effect, when dynamic response of bridge is equal to effect cycle load for rolling stock axle according to high speed operation train. And excessive deformation of structure has negative effect on operation safety of train and comfort of passenger due to fluctuation of wheel load by torsion of track etc. and decrease of contact force on vehicle wheel-rail. To ensure the safety of track and train operation safety, it is have to perform the study on resonance and deformation of structure. That criteria and requirement of railway bridge is limitation of vertical acceleration on deck for dynamic behavior of structure, contact of vehicle wheel and rail, limitation of face distortion and rotation angle of end deck, and limitation of vertical displacement by train. Unlike KYEONGBU High Speed Railway, New constructed HONAM High Speed Railway have to applied the new requirement for dynamic behavior safety according to change of condition which is type of ballast (slab ballast), interval of track, and actual rolling stock load. Therefore, in this paper, it was conformed the dynamic characteristic due to parameter, which related with above mentioned criteria, for steel composite bridges.

Experimental Study on Structural Behavior of Interfaces of Double Composite Girder Using the 80 MPa Concrete (80 MPa급 콘크리트를 활용한 이중합성 거더의 수평접합면 구조거동에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • The horizontal shear capacity when the flange of a steel girder is replaced with 80 MPa concrete is important for its structural safety. In this study, 6 specimens with different interface conditions were designed and fabricated based on the Limit State Design Code on Korean Highway Bridges and static tests were performed to measure the horizontal shear capacity. Not only the resistance factors of the stud shear connector, concrete and reinforcement, but also the surface conditions of the casing concrete and spacing of the horizontal shear reinforcements were used as the experimental variables. The experiments showed that the interfaces between the steel girder and the concrete flange have stronger joint performance than those between the concrete flange and deck slab. To ensure the composite action in the plastic zone, the conservative horizontal shear reinforcement is more important than the roughness in the concrete face.

Cyclic Loading Test for TSC Beam - PSRC Column Connections (TSC 합성보 - PSRC 합성기둥 접합부에 대한 주기하중 실험)

  • In the present study, details of the TSC beam-to-PSRC column connection for low and middle seismic zones were developed. For ease construction, the top and bottom flanges of the steel section of the TSC beam were discontinuous at the joint face on purpose, while the web passes through the joint. Thus, tensile resistance of the top and bottom flanges is not considered in the calculation of nominal strength of the connection. Cyclic loading tests on two interior connections and an exterior connection were performed to verify the seismic performance. The test parameter for two interior connections was the depth of the TSC beams: 600 and 700 mm including the slab depth. The test results showed that the nominal strength of the connections predicted by KBC 2009 correlated well with the test results. The connection specimens exhibited relatively good deformation and energy dissipation capacities, greater than the requirements for the ordinary and intermediate moment frames. Ultimately, the connection specimens were failed at the story drift ratios of 3.0 to 4.0 % due to local buckling and tensile fracture of the web of the TSC beam passing through the joint. By modifying the existing provisions of ASCE, the joint shear strength of the TSC beam-PSRC column connection was evaluated.
