이륜형 압출기의 체류시간 분포에 대한 역피치 스크류의 효과 (Effect of Reverse Screw Elements on the Residence Time Distribution in Twin-Screw Extruder)

  • 이륜형 식품 압출기에서 체류시간의 분포에 대한 reverse screw element의 효과를 보기 위하여 여러가지 screw 조합에 따른 체류시간의 분포를 실험적으로 평가 하였다. Forwarding screw에서 형성된 C. chamber의 수를 평가하기 위해 아래와 같은 model equation을 도출 하였다. $T=T_x+\frac{1}{x}(\sum\frac{l}{a}+\frac{V{\cdot}\rho}{F/x})$ Reverse screw element를 사용함으로써 체류시간 분포 곡선은 넓게 퍼지는 경향이 있었고 최대 peak에 도달하는 시간이 증가 하였다. True residence time은 die 바로 앞에 있는 reverse screw element에 의해 주로 영향을 받았다. Filled C-chamber의 수는 같은 형태의 screw조합에서는 screw 회전수가 증가함에 따라 감소하였다.

  • The extruder screw is a part for extruding material in a injection molding machine. The screw's geometrical shape can mathematically be described by a sweep surface which is constructed by sweeping a section curve composed of a few circular arcs, along a helical guide curve. In the paper we developed a dedicated CAD system which basically is parametric in a sense that the system initially takes several design parameters to construct the geometric elements including the final sweep surface of the screw as well as section & guiding curves, along with feasibility check of the input parameter values, without further user interaction. The system has been developed as a built-in module onto a commercial CAD system, which can further incorporate additional NC-out functions with ease.

  • Extruder is divided to greatly three part at extrusion process. First, by hopper(Hopper) second, barrel(Barrel) with Screw that is point of extruder and third that is raw material supply wealth extrusion into dies(DIES) Part that decide shape of do product greatly divide. Hopper is role that distribute in raw material supply wealth (Feeding zone) of Screw preserving raw material in state of high quality how at extrusion process, and make distributed raw material as Screw in barrel rotates and 3 stage and inflicting heat and pressure raw material melting(Melting) state. And raw material of melting state Screw's measuring stoker(Metering zone) whereabouts anaphora do and product is completed through pipe channel of dies. Dies that is the most important as Screw in extrusion is part that is last part of melting state process of raw material and causes huge effect in quality of product. If more than design of dies happens, manufacture itself of dies is hard, but there are a lot of amount of losses accordingly. In this research, make pipe channel that raw material of melting state flows in dies can present dies basic design method through flow analysis of ideal pipe channel using CFdesign.

A study of size and frictional effect on the evolution of melting PartII: Twin screw extruder

  • Effects of particulate size and frictional characteristics were examined on the melting behavior of PP(polypropylene) in a twin screw extruder. Powder and pellet types of PP were used and each component was blended with PE(polyethylene) wax and clay, respectively. It was observed that small size particulates, 1.e. powder systems exhibit accelerated melting behavior; and it was also found that the abrasive auditive acts as an effective agent for fast melting of PP powder. Retardation of melting due to the reduced friction was observed in both types of PP, contrary to the result found in a batch mixer. The tendency observed in variation of torque and exit temperature was explained in terms of frictional effect and length of compacted region formed during evolution of melting.

2축 압출기를 이용한 식물성 단백질의 조직화(TPP)제조공정 분석에 관한 연구 (Analysis of the TPP(Texturization of Plant Protein) Production Process Using Twin Screw Extruder)

  • Texturization of plant protein means the physical or chemical recomposition method of plant protein damaged during the extracting process of soybean oil. As a stable protein supplement, substituted for meat, needs of texturized products have been increased. Twin screw extruder is a very effective tool for texturization process as a physical method. This research, using defatted soy flour as raw material and twin screw extruder manufactured in domestic, showed that plant protein was texturized successfully on the operating conditions of barrel temperature of $120{\sim}140^{\circ}C$, material feed rate of 30~36kg/hr and water content of 20~25%. It also showed that the shape of die affected the texturization continuity.

In-line measurement of residence time distribution in twin-screw extruder using non-destructive ultrasound

  • In this study, we performed RTD measurement at the die exit of co-rotating twin-screw extruder using a non-destructive ultrasonic device. The ultrasonic device was attached at slit die and was composed of a steel buffer rod and 10 MHz longitudinal piezoelectric ultrasonic transducer. This in-line ultrasonic monitoring method is based on the ultrasonic response of $CaCO_3$ filled in polymer. The RTD is evaluated by variation of ultrasonic attenuation with time caused by change of the tracer concentration during extrusion. The ultrasonic tracer, pellet type of compounded $CaCO_3$ in polymer was used in this study. The effects of tracer concentration on RTD and flow patterns were studied. Evaluation for the residence functions at different screw speeds, feeding rates and screw configurations were also carried out.

  • 컴파운드의 물성을 최적화하기 위해서는 충전제 입자들의 분배와 분산이 잘 일어나도록 효율적으로 훈련하는 것이 중요하다. 혼련 효용을 향상시키고자 다양한 종류의 혼련 요소들이 이축압출기에 이용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 탄산칼슘이 충전된 폴리스티렌을 대상으로 충전제 분산에 대한 이축압출기의 스크루 조합 영향을 알아보았다. 충전제의 분산 상태는 포토다이오드가 장착된 광학현미경으로 조사하였다. 실험 결과는 충전제의 분산 정도가 혼련 요소들의 형태 및 위치에 주로 영향을 받는다는 것을 보여주었다.

  • 최근 들어 전기적, 기계적 성질이 우수한 다중벽탄소나노튜브(Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes)/고분자 복합재료에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행 중이다. 본 연구에서는 모듈라 치합형 동방형 회전 이축 압출기(Modular Intermeshing Co-Rotating Twin Screw Extruder, L/D=42)를 이용하여 PMMA/MWNT 복합체를 제조하였다. 이렇게 제조된 PMMA/MWNT 복합체의 표면저항을 측정한 결과 MWNT의 함량이 4 wt% 일 때 $10^4{\Omega}/sq$를 나타내어 전자파차폐(Electronic Magnetic Interference) 물질로 응용할 수 있는 가능성을 확인하였다. 그리고 열중량 분석기 (Thermogravimetric Analysis), 시차주사열량계(Differential Scanning Calorimeter)를 이용한 열적특성, 주사전자현미경(Scanning Electron Microscopy)을 통하여 형태학적 변화를 분석하였다. 또한 유변학적 특성을 알아보기 위해 용융흐름지수(Melt Flow Index)를 측정하였다.

옥분 압출가공시 이축압출성형기의 System Parameters에 따른 압출물의 특성변화 (Effect of System Parameters on Target Parameters in Extrusion Cooking of Corn Grit by Twin-Screw Extruder)

  • 스크류조합을 달리한 실험실용 twin-screw extruder를 사용하여 corn grit를 원료 투입량($30{\sim}60\;kg/hr$), 스크류 회전속도($200{\sim}400\;rpm$) 및 die hole 수($2{\sim}6$개) 범위에서 압출하면서 측정된 system parameters(압출온도, 기계적 에너지 소모율, 평균 체류시간)가 압출물의 특성을 나타내는 target parameters(수분 증발량, 수분 용해도지수 및 수분 흡착지수)에 미치는 영향을 스크류 조합별과 전체 실험결과를 다중회귀분석을 통하여 회귀식으로 나타내면, 스크류조합별 관계식에서는 상관계수가 0.90 이상 이었으며, 구획하지 않은 전체 회귀식에서는 0.80 정도의 상관계수를 보였다. 이상의 결과는 system analysis approach을 이용하면, 상이한 extruder사이의 조업자료 중 system parameters의 분석을 통하여 목적 제품의 특성을 예측할 수 있는 가능성을 보여준다고 생각된다.
