A Numerical Analysis of an Unsteady Flow in a Cavity Using an Ekman Pumping Model (에크만 분출 모델을 이용한 캐버티 내의 비정상 유동특성에 관한 수치해석)

  • A two dimensional shallow-water flow around a cavity driven by a sinusoidally oscillating external flow was studied numerically with an Ekman pumping model. A container model of "T" shape was constructed in the numerical computation for comparison with the experimental observation. The material transport in the external region is in good agreement with the experimentally recorded particle trajectories. It turns out that two large coherent vortices situated in the exterior region of the cavity are responsible for clockwise and counterclockwise drift motions, in large scale, of particles. The Ekman pumping model suggested in this study was found to be satisfactory.isfactory.

  • According to the passage of an age, a method which communicates each other between the city and space, and space and a human has changed. Recently, as the city is developing related with the public, the sphere and a territory of activity of a public has been wider in an environment of the city. Therefore, development of night scenery and the rise of a medium of a vision are accompanied with a new material and the high-technology. Innovation of abundant techniques tends to being surface and mass media, and breaks from the architectural aspect of space as mutual expansion of relations between interior and exterior, and making a boundary obscurely. Space design represents peculiarity of non-territorial which modern art, an advertisement, a media and a reflection are integrated as getting over above tendency. As we find out methods which the public can communicate with the space in wider territory, the public and the space can extend mutual relations and the design of modern space is been varying a part as the space which has a context of city and synthetic sociality for the public by avoiding independent objects.

  • According to the rapid development of digital technology, the free formed buildings with complex and various curved surfaces are being constructed. Most of the external cladding of free formed buildings have been applied materials such as metal, glass, FRP, GFRC, etc. However, these materials have many disadvantages such as a complicated manufacturing process for realizing 3D irregular shape and an increase in production period and cost. Therefore, the studies for UHPC which is an optimized material for overcoming this problem for a long time in overseas. This study reviewed the remodeling construction of Samsung-dong KEB Hana Bank appling the exterior curved UHPC panel for the first time in Korea. As a result, we confirmed the possibility of UHPC panels with various free formed shapes.

  • Steel method compared with conventional aluminum truss construction materials as the biggest difference, aluminum truss method by using an aluminum material construction of the existing steel truss compared with the welding operation is omitted, as the air operations will be reduced by about 40% do not need skilled workers in the existing portion of each tube and cost 11,233 to 13,173 won/㎡ cheap it was found.

  • It is a wide range of types of building materials. Depending on the flow of time for the increased interest in building appearance of quality new and different materials are being developed. In particular, the case of granite widely used as cladding, recently, China's low-cost stone disguised as a large number of local granite stone as the domestic industry has been a big hit. Therefore, the purpose of study is establishment of the database for granite building exterior materials. For that, the domestic granite and chinese granite are selected. The spectrums of these material are investigated and analyzed.

  • Laser heat source was used for automotive interior and exterior parts to reduce weights. Typically, 900's nm wavelength of laser has been widely used for polymer joining, however, the transmittance of the laser beam thorough clear polymers such as PMMA or PC has been an issue to overcome. To solve this issue, 1,940nm laser was applied on the clear polymer for the better absorption and 900nm laser beam was used for main laser for the joining. Conventional Gaussian or Elliptical heat source approximation has limitation in polymer which had deeper skin depth where major laser beam absorbs. To accurately simulate the physical laser beam absorption and joining optical properties were experimentally measured for the computer FEM simulation. The simulation results showed close correlation between theoretical and experimental results. The developed laser process is expected to increase productivity and gap closing which can cause failure of joining in laser material processing.

  • The exterior structures of natural organisms have continuously evolved by controlling wettability, such as the Namib Desert beetle, whose back has hydrophilic/hydrophobic contrast for water harvesting by mist condensation in dry desert environments, and some plant leaves that have hierarchical micro/nanostructures to collect or repel liquid water. In this work, we have provided a method for wettability contrast on metals by both nano-flake or needle patterns and tuning of the surface energy. Metals including steel alloys and aluminum were provided with hierarchical micro/nanostructures of metaloxides induced by fluorination and a subsequent catalytic reaction of fluorine ions on metal surfaces in water with various ranges from room to boiling temperature of water. Then, a hydrophobic material was deposited on the structured surfaces, rendering superhydrophobicity. Plasma oxidization induces the formation of superhydrophilic surfaces on selective regions surrounded by superhydrophobic surfaces. We show that wettability contrast surfaces align liquid water within patterned hydrophilic regions during the condensation process. Furthermore, this method could have a greater potential to align other liquids or living cells.

  • The nature accompanies with natural and ecological truth, worsening living environment without think using of our nature. Now, the sustainable researches to study peculiarities in ecological dwellings considered with nature and the development of human life's quality in housing itself, have been progressing. Also it is needed to show understanding about ecological dwellings in the user participant's consciousness such as, unification thought with nature, circulation thought of substance, and environment friendly thought of the traditional housing. Chose five examples which is applying ecological architectural concept by each Chungbuk, Chungnam, Jeonbuk, Gyeongbuk, Gyeonggi district and I investigated change of exterior or interior material, application of ecological system, and etc. With these background, this study will survey cases of ecological dwellings and find peculiar characteristics of ecological dwellings through researching the correlation between the concept in user's consciousness and application method.

  • The study has effected checking the traditional Korean-style house condition in Farm village and the resident preference test in jeonnam area for examination propriety of development a traditional Korean-style house. Also, it was checked over the problem and improvement direction of new building the Korean style house. The resident wanted living in the traditional Korean-style house if it is compromised problem of living equipment and cost of building. First. Jeonnam area Korean style house must keep the 'ㅡ' type plan. Second, the plan must construct compact and effective plan with the main floored room as the center for prevention against an indiscreet plan space extend of outside. Third, it has must need suitable material and construction for applying traditional exterior with effect. Fourth, it has must need actualization plan for the cost of construction is 3,500,000/py for construction.
