마밭에 출현하는 잡초와 식생유형의 특성 (Distribution Characteristics of Weeds and Vegetation Types in Dioscorea oppostifolia Thunb. Field)

  • 마밭에 출현하는 초종과 식생군락을 분석하여 마밭 잡초방제 기초자료로 활용하기 위하여 2014년 5월부터 10월까지 총 7회에 걸쳐 조사를 실시하였다. 마밭에는 총 11과 44종이 출현하였으며, 조사지역 내 출현한 귀화식물은 3과, 10속 10종으로 분류되었는데 주기적인 잡초방제로 인하여 잡초의 생물다양성이 높지는 않았다. Z-M학파의 식물사회학적 식생분류 결과, 큰도꼬마리, 논피, 미국가막사리, 한련초, 속속이풀, 중대가리풀, 쇠비름이 군락으로 분류되었으며, PCA plot 분석결과도 식생분류 결과와 동일하게 유형화되었다. 수량조사 결과, 잡초 방제구 대비 무처리에서 82%의 수량감소가 발생하였다.

일본의 비탈면 녹화공법 발전과정과 전망 (A Study on the Historical Changes and Prospect of Slope Revegetation Technology in Japan)

  • It is possible to divide the historical changes of slope revegetation in Japan into five periods as follows; 1) The early period after creation(1927-1948), 2) The spreading period of modern revegetation work with manpower(1947-1958), 3) The spreading period of rapid revegetation technique using exotic grasses with machineries(1959-1985${\dots}$), 4) The spreading period of rapid reforestation technique by fast growing species mainly using leguminous shrub species(1986-1995${\dots}$), 5) The developing period of nature restoration technique using endemic arborous species(1996-). Recently main purpose of slope revegetation has been developing from the erosion protection to the nature restoration in the current of the 5th period. It is said that the role of the Japanese Society of Revegetation Technology(JSRT) is critical to the history of slope revegetation in Japan. 'The tentative guidelines of slope nature restoration' was announced by JSRT in 2004. In the guidelines, it was proposed that the planning techniques of using suitable seeds/plants based on the preservation level at the each construction sites. Moreover, the use of soil seed bank is the new and important study theme in the field of nature restoration. Consequently, at present the importance of advanced monitoring methods for vegetation maintenance and plant sociologic survey to evaluate the plant succession is increasing. Finally, some critical concepts are necessary to develop the field of restoration in Korea as follows; 1) monitoring of constructed sites, 2) ensuring of biodiversity, 3) recognition of slow revegetation and mosaic arrangement in revegetation, 4) reuse and recycle on the construction sites, and 5) promotion of specialist.

미호천의 어류상과 어류군집 동태 (The Ichthyofauna and Dynamics of the Fish Community in Miho Stream, Korea)

  • 2004년 5월부터 2005년 8월까지 미호천에서 어류상과 어류군집을 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. 채집된 어류는 총 10과 41종이었으며 이중 한반도 고유종 종은 12종 (29.3%) 이었다. 국외에서 도입된 외래어종은 Carassius cuvieri, Lepomis macrochirus, Micropterus salmoides 3종이었고 개체수 비교풍부도는 0.3% 이었다. 미호천 수계 어류상에서 우점종은 Zacco platypus로서 54.7%의 높은 우점율을 나타내었으며 모든 조사 지점 에서도 우점하였다. 1982년에 비해 종다양도 지수, 균등도 지수, 종풍부도는 낮았고 우점도 지수는 높았으며 Lampetra reissneri, Anguilla japonica, Acheilognathus macropterus, Coreoleuciscus splendidus, Pseudopungtungia nigra, Gobiobotia naktongensis, Lefua costata, Pseudobagrus koreanus, Monopterus albus, Iksookimia choii 등은 본 조사에서 출현하지 않았고 Carassius auratus, Rhodeus uyekii, Rhodeus notatus, Acheilognathus lanceolatus, Pseudogobio esocinus, Hemibarbus longirostris, Microphysogobio yaluensis, Cobitis lutheri, Iksookimia koreensis, Pseudobagrus fulvidraco, Rhinogobius brunneus 등은 급격한 감소 추세를 나타내었다. 증가 추세에 있는 대표적인 종은 Z. platypus, Pseudorasbora parva, Squalidus gracilis majimae 등이었다.

  • The historical changes of seeding work in Japan, the typical slope revegetation method, is possible to divide into five periods as follows; 1) The early period after creation(1927-1948) 2) The spreading period of modern revegetation work with manpower(1947-1958) 3) The spreading period of rapid revegetation technique using exotic grasses with machineries(1959-1985${\dots}$) 4) The spreading period of rapid reforestation technique by fast growing species mainly using leguminous shrub species(1986-1995${\dots}$) 5)The developing period of nature restoration technique using endemic arborous species(1996-) The evaluation basis of vegetated condition after slope seeding has been described to a official guide book, "The Standards of Slope Stabilizing Works" It was mainly revised three times after first edition in 1972, and also the point of evaluation basis changed from the vegetation coverage to the density of woody plant through the 3rd period and the 4th period Recently main purpose of slope seeding has been developing from the erosion protection to the nature restoration in the current of the 5th period, and "The tentative guidelines of slope nature restoration" was announced by The Slope Revegetation Section of Japanese Society of Revegetation Technology in 2004. 이미지 조사를 통한 자생수종 활용에 관한 연구 -상층목을 중심으로- (A Study on the Utilization of Interior Lanscape Plant through the Investigation of Image -Focused on the Tall Trees-)

  • This study was conducted to investigte the visual preference and response between introduced and native trees for utilization of the south native trees in interior space. 1. The intensity of illumination was below 500lux at 24 buildings of interior spaces surveyed. Generally the temperature was 24~$26^{\circ}C$, and humidity was 60~70%. 2. Total number of introduced tree species were 9 familiar, 16 genus, 18 species, especially palm genus were the largest tree among them at these surveyed interior spaces, but native trees were only 2 species. The introduced tree of 2 to 3m in height was 46 percent, and the case of 1.2 to 2m was 42 percent. 3. The mean of visual preference was the highest at Rhapis excelsa and howeia belmoreana, and followed with Neolitsea sericea, Daphniphllum macropodum, Listsea japonicum. In the mean of visual preference for selected tree groups, native tree was not different as compared with introduced tree. 4. Visual image factor of the native and introduced trees at interior spaces was classified by individual factor and emotional factor. These 2 factors were shown 66.5% total variance. The native tree was strongly recognized on individual factor, as , and introduced tree was also strongly recognized on emotional factor. 5. In the analysis of visual preference and image, a difference between the selected groups of the introduced and native trees were not shown significant, and the introduced trees were similar to the native trees on the visual image. This result was as follow There was an analogy between Cinnamomum camphora, Ligustrum japonicum and Ficus retusa, Ficus benjamina. There is an analogy between Castanopsis cuspidata var. sieboldii, Cinnamomum japonicum and Ficus retusa, Ficus benjamina. There was an analogy between Elaeocarpus sylvestris var. ellipticus, Fatsia japonica and Rhapis excelsa, Howeia belmoreana. There was an analogy between Neolitsea sericea, Daphniphyllum macropo여, Listsea japonica and Rhapis excelsa, Howeia belmoreana. There was an analogy between Elaeocarpus sylvestris var. ellipticus, Fatsia japonica and Dracaena fragranse, Ficus elastica, Monstera deliciosa.

서울시 381호 노면전차 목재 부재의 수종 식별 (Identification of Wood Members in Seoul Streetcar No. 381)

  • 본 연구에서는 서울역사박물관에서 인수한 전차 381호에 사용된 목재 부재의 수종 식별을 실시하였다. 전차 381호는 두 대 남은 전차 중의 하나로 서울시의 중요한 문화유산이다. 따라서 전차의 역사를 지키기 위해 복원하고 손상이 가지 않도록 보존하는 것이 중요하다. 전차의 보존처리 시 동일한 수종의 목재로 교체하기 위해 외부와 내부에 쓰인 목재의 종류를 알아보고자 내부 6점, 외부 1점 총 7점에 대한 수종 식별을 실시한 결과 미송류(douglas-fir, $Pseudotsuga$) 2점, 나왕류(lauan, $Shorea$) 2점, 외래산 소나무(ponderosa group, $Pinus$) 1점, 잎갈나무류(larch, $Larix$) 1점, 상수리나무류(cerris group, $Quercus$) 1점으로 식별되었다.

Hydrodynamic fish modeling for potential-expansion evaluations of exotic species (largemouth bass) on waterway tunnel of Andong-Imha Reservoir

  • Background: The objectives of this study were to establish a swimming capability model for largemouth bass using the FishXing (version 3) program, and to determine the swimming speed and feasibility of fish passage through a waterway tunnel. This modeling aimed to replicate the waterway tunnel connecting the Andong and Imha Reservoirs in South Korea, where there is a concern that largemouth bass may be able to pass through this structure. As largemouth bass are considered an invasive species, this spread could have repercussions for the local environment. Results: Flow regime of water through the waterway tunnel was calculated via the simulation of waterway tunnel operation, and the capability of largemouth bass to pass through the waterway tunnel was then estimated. The swimming speed and distance of the largemouth bass had a positive linear function with total length and negative linear function with the flow rate of the waterway tunnel. The passing rate of small-size largemouth bass (10-30 cm) was 0%at a flow of $10m^3/s$ due to rapid exhaustion from prolonged upstream swimming through the long (1.952 km) waterway tunnel. Conclusions: The results of FishXing showed that the potential passing rate of large size largemouth bass (>40 cm) through the waterway tunnel was greater than 10%; however, the passage of largemouth bass was not possible because of the mesh size ($3.4{\times}6.0cm$) of the pre-screening structures at the entrance of the waterway tunnel. Overall, this study suggests that the spread of largemouth bass population in the Imha Reservoir through the waterway tunnel is most likely impossible.

Soil displacement from frost heave on forest road cut-slopes

  • The frost heave process from repeated freezing and thawing actions in winter on forest road cut-slopes is important for forest road maintenance and management. This study investigated the damages of the forest heave process on forest road cut-slopes by measuring the changes in the road-cut surface elevation and sediment production and by conducting vegetation surveys which were aimed at providing information for forest road maintenance plans. The temperature and humidity differences were determined between the north and south cut-slopes. T-test showed that the north slope had a lower temperature and humidity than that of the south slope. Field observations also confirmed frozen soils on the north slopes, indicating that the north slopes are susceptible to frost heave. Sediment was converted to dry weight per unit area ($g/m^2$). T-test showed that the north slope produced more sediment than that of the south slope. The study confirmed that more frost heave occurred on the north cut-slopes than on the south cut-slopes. Vegetation surveys were conducted on five cut-slope plots. Considering the dominant species found above the cut-slopes, vegetations in all the plots are expected to succeed to pine and oak in the future. The dominant species appearing on the cut-slopes of the study area were exotic species because the elapsed time of the site was only 2 - 4 years.

충남 및 전북지역의 왕우렁이 생태 연구 (A Study on the Ecology of the Golden Apple Snail, Pomacea canaliculata (Lamark) in Chungnam and Jeonbuk Province of Korea)

  • 왕우렁이(Pomacea canaliculata)는 1983년에 식용으로 일본에서 한국으로 도입된 외래종으로서, 농업에서 벼의 직파 논의 잠재적인 해충이다. 본 연구에서는 해충화되고 있는 왕우렁이의 생육특성과 충남 및 전북지역에서의 월동생태를 구명하였고, 또한 농수로에서 수생식물과 수질에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 자연수로에서 조사결과를 보면 왕우렁이가 높은 밀도로 서식하는 수로에서는 왕우렁이가 서식하지 않을 경우에 많았던 검정말, 붕어마름, 개구리밥, 좀개구리밥 등의 수생식물들이 발견되지 않았다. 폐쇄형 인공수조실험에서는 왕우렁이가 수생식물들을 먹이로 섭식하면서 이들 식물들을 제거하고, 수질 지표인 EC, COD, T-N 및 T-P을 높이는 것으로 나타났다.

제주 넓은못 습지에서 관찰된 아마존노란점거북(Podocnemis unifilis)의 국내 첫 서식 보고 (First report of Yellow-spotted Amazon River Turtle(Podocnemis unifilis) in neolb-eun pond area in Jeju Island)

  • 이 연구는 현재까지 국내 야생에서 확인되지 않았던 외래종 견목거북과(Podocnemididae) 아마존노란점거북(Yellow-spotted Amazon River Turtle, Podocnemis unifilis)을 처음으로 관찰한 사실을 학술적으로 보고하고자 한다. 2020년 7월 24일 제주특별자치도 제주시 조천읍 와흘리 33°30'20.08"N 126°38'0.23"E 지점에서 아마존노란점거북 2개체가 바위에서 일광욕하고 있는 것이 관찰되었다. 1개체는 머리에 노란색 반점이 있었고, 다른 1개체는 흑화되어 검은색을 띠었다. 관찰된 장소는 도로와 인접해 있고, 사람들의 출입이 잦은 곳으로, 애완용으로 사육되던 개체가 연못으로 방사된 것으로 추측된다. 최근 호수, 저수지 등 국내 야생에서 확인되는 외래거북이 증가하고 있으며, 외래거북 유입으로 인한 수생태계의 피해가 예상되는 만큼, 외래생물에 대한 시민과학 프로젝트와 환경교육을 통한 대중들의 인식 개선이 필요하다. 향후 발견된 개체에 대하여 지속적인 모니터링을 통한 야생 적응 여부, 번식과 관련된 추가 연구가 수행되어야 할 것이다.
