  • With the recent advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), the performance of deep learning-based audio deepfake technology has significantly improved. This technology has been exploited for criminal activities, leading to various cases of victimization. To prevent such illicit outcomes, this paper proposes a deep learning-based audio deepfake detection model. In this study, we propose CoNSIST, an improved audio deepfake detection model, which incorporates three additional components into the graph-based end-to-end model AASIST: (i) Squeeze and Excitation, (ii) Positional Encoding, and (iii) Reformulated HS-GAL, This incorporation is expected to enable more effective feature extraction, elimination of unnecessary operations, and consideration of more diverse information, thereby improving the performance of the original AASIST. The results of multiple experiments indicate that CoNSIST has enhanced the performance of audio deepfake detection compared to existing models.

  • A review of current procedures being used in engineering practice to analyze the response of structure/foundation systems subjected separately to different types of dynamic excitation, such as earthquake, sea-wave action, wind, or moving wheel loads, is presented. Separate formulations are given for analyzing systems in the time and frequency domains. Both deterministic and stochastic forms of excitation are treated. A distinction is made between demand and capacity analyses.

  • This paper investigates the vibration characteristics of a wire-bonding transducer horn for high speed welding devices. The sample wire-bonder uses the input frequency of 136 kHz. The ultrasonic excitation causes the various vibrations of transducer horn and capillary. The vibration modes and frequencies close to the exciting frequency are identified using ANSYS. The nodal lines and amplification ratio of the ultrasonic horn are also obtained in order to evaluate the bonding performance of the sample wire-bonder system. The FEM results and experimental results show that the sample wire-bonder system uses the bending mode of 136 kHz as principal motion for bonding. The major longitudinal mode exists at 119 kHz below the excitation frequency. It is recommeded that the sample system is to set the excitation frequency at 119 kHz to improve bonding performance.

  • This paper shows that the performance of a nonlinear fluid engine mount can be improved by an optimal design process. The property of a hydraulic mount with inertia track and decoupler differs according to the disturbance frequency range. Since the excitation amplitude is large at low excitation frequency range and is small at high excitation frequency range, mathematical model of the mount can be divided into two linear models. One is a low frequency model and the other is a high frequency model. The combination of the two models is very useful in the analysis of the mount and is used for the first time in the optimization of an engine mount in this paper. Normally, the design of a fluid mount is based on a trial and error approach in industry because there are many design parameters. In this study, a nonlinear mount was optimized to minimize the transmissibilities of the mount at the notch and the resonance frequencies for low and high-frequency models by a popular optimization technique of sequential quadratic programming (SQP) supported by $MATLAB^{(R)}$subroutine. The results show that the performance of the mount can be greatly improved for the low and high frequencies ranges by the optimization method.

  • Brake-induced vibrations of a vehicle such as brake judder are determined by the excitation of brake torque variations and by their transfer to the driver's contact points via suspension, body and steering system. The formation of brake torque variation is mainly determined by static and dynamic disk thickness variations. The vibration transfer from the excitation by brake torque variation to the perception by the driver depends on the kinematic and dynamic behaviour of the components in the transfer path. Optimization of the judder performance can be achieved either by minimizing the excitation or by reduction of the judder sensitivity of the vehicle. In this paper, the optimization process of a front rotor is suggested to reduce brake judder considering the cooling performance of the rotor, the judder sensitivity of the vehicle and durability of the rotor.

  • Recently, the advent of electro-active papers (EAPap) actuators has been reported. In this paper, the possibility of the actuators is demonstrated. EAPap is a paper that produces large displacement with small force under an electrical excitation. EAPap is made with a chemically treated paper by constructing thin electrodes on both sides of the paper. When electrical voltage is applied on the electrodes the EAPap produces bending displacement. To improve the bending performance of EAPap, different paper fibers-softwood, hardwood, bacteria cellulose, cellophane, carbon mixture paper, electrolyte containing paper and Korean traditional paper, in conjunction with additive chemicals were tested. Two attempts were made to construct the electrodes: the direct use of aluminum foil and the gold sputtering technique. It was found that a cellophane paper exhibits a remarkable bending performance. When 2MV/m of excitation voltage was applied on the paper actuator, more than 3mm of tip displacement was observed out of the 30 mm long paper beam. This is quite low excitation voltage compared to that of other EAPs. The actuation principle of electro-active paper (EAPap) and possible applications are addressed.

  • The development of the low power application such as wireless sensors and health monitoring systems, attract a great attention to low power vibration energy harvesters. The recent vibration energy harvesters use smart materials in their structures to convert ambient mechanical energy into electricity. The frequent model of this harvesters is cantilevered beam. In the literature, the base excitation cantilevered harvesters are mainly investigated, and the related models are presented. This paper investigates a tip excitation cantilevered beam energy harvester with permendur. In the first section, the mechanical model of the harvester and magneto-mechanical model of the permendur are presented. Later, to find the maximum output of the harvester, based on the response surface method (RSM), some experiments are done, and the results are analyzed. Finally, to verify the results of RSM, a harvester with optimum design variables is made, and its output power is compared. The last comparison verifies the estimation of the RSM method which was about $381{\mu}W/cm^3$.

  • The TMD has a simpler structure than other vibration control devices and shows excellent control performance for the standardized vibration occurring in the structure. However, when the vibration cycle of the structure coincides with the vibration cycle of the TMD due to the sudden external loads, the off-tuning occurs, which threatens the structure while increasing the vibration width of the TMD. Therefore, Electromagnetic Tuned Mass Damper (ETMD) was developed as a semi-active TMD that prevents off-tuning while exhibiting excellent control performance like TMD. To verify the control performance of the developed ETMD, the bending behavior control performance evaluation experiment using a simple beam bridge was performed. The experimental method compared the mutual control power by experimenting with the existing TMD method and the developed ETMD under nine excitation frequency conditions. As a result, it was confirmed that the control effect of ETMD was about 4.85% higher than that of TMD at 3.02Hz, which generates the maximum displacement in the simple beam bridge. Also, the off-tuning occurred in some excitation conditions when using TMD, although the off-tuning did not occur when using ETMD. Therefore, the excellent control performance of the ETMD developed in this study was verified.
