  • The survey was carried out for the student sin colleges of SangJi University for analyzing the parameters affecting the selection of ones cultural studies and major subjects. The number of respondents was 204, and the responses were computer-processed utilizing Excel and statistical software SPSS. The attributes of main factors were composed of House of Quality(HOQ) that is basic matrix of Quality Function Development. From the survey analysis, selection criteria for ones cultural studies and major subjects are as follows. In selecting ones cultural studies, teaching methodology is the most important factor than assignment, the percentage of attendance and academic credit. And in case of major subjects, no other factors than the recommendation by seniors were significantly affected ones subject selection.

  • In order to evaluate the potential radiological risks for the reuse of the site after decommissioning of nuclear facilities, a mathematical model was developed and materialized into the Microsoft $Excel{\circledR}$ spreadsheets frame. A set of input parameter values was proposed, which is useful in the preliminary risk screening step before the detailed evaluation with the site-specific data. It appeared that the screening levels calculated by the present model was agreed with the derived concentration guideline limits resulted from RESRAD Ver.6.2 and the German dose criteria for releasing a nuclear site from regulatory control.

  • One of the most interests is currently a field related with serious game. Also, the scale of serious game industry is rapid quantitative growth every year. For effective management of metadata of serious game is an important issue so that we propose design of integrated management system for effective management of metadata of serious game. The system provide a service based on internet. Users(general users, developers, experts and managers of metadata) of serious game who can carry out effectively works using proposed system such as new metadata information input, existing metadata information search, generated document files(HTML, XML, EXCEL, MS-WORD) as search results saving into their owns local computer system and so on.

  • Five stage enriching membrane system for separating combustion gas (air 90%, $CO_2$ 10%) was proposed and simulated by using Aspen plus and Excel. The system recovers 90% $CO_2$ of the combustion gas and the purity of $CO_2$ recovered was more than 99%. Optimization yields a reduction in membrane area as well as operating and capital cost. Retentate concentration and permeate pressure of each stage were chosen as optimization variables. By analyzing the optimization results, we derived several design guide lines for the enriching membrane system.

  • To survive head-to-head competition, we should keep our labor productivities above those of other nations. However, our labor productivities are low compared to those of the developed countries. It is the well-known fact that we make up for the productivities with long work hours. Entering the line of developed nations safely and enjoying well-being age freely, we need to achieve high labor productivities without sacrificing work hours. What would be a fine solution? Back to the basics! Although it is important to enforce R&D on high-tech products, we should have so-called bluebird philosophy, being faithful to the basics and trying to find solutions at a stone's throw. Basics of basics may be unceasing improvement, establishing reasonable standard times, and maintaining them. To support going back to the basics, this thesis proposes VITAMAX, a motion and time study software. As VITAMAX stands for "Visual Improvement and Time Analysis for Maximizing Profits", it provides a simple and powerful visual tool which is useful for improving manual works and determining standard times. Since VITAMAX is based on the Microsoft Excel and VBA, it is very cost-effective and easy to use. VITAMAX may contribute to the profit increase of manufacturing companies, especially for the small and medium-sized enterprise.

  • This paper contains detailed descriptions of a dynamic time-history modal analysis to calculate deflection, inter-storey drift and storey shear demand in single-storey and multi-storey buildings using an EXCEL spreadsheet. The developed spreadsheets can be used to obtain estimates of the dynamic response parameters with minimum input information, and is therefore ideal for supporting the conceptual design of tall building structures, or any other structures, in the early stages of the design process. No commercial packages, when customised, could compete with spreadsheets in terms of simplicity, portability, versatility and transparency. An innovative method for developing the stiffness matrix for the lateral load resistant elements in medium-rise and high-rise buildings is also introduced. The method involves minimal use of memory space and computational time, and yet allows for variations in the sectional properties of the lateral load resisting elements up the height of the building and the coupling of moment frames with structural walls by diaphragm action. Numerical examples are used throughout the paper to illustrate the development and use of the spreadsheet programs.

  • This paper deals with the optimization problem that decides the number of advertising for any media among various medium to maximize the perception quality index of new product meets the given budget and over the minimum reached people constraints. For this problem, there is only in used the mathematical approach as linear programming (LP) software package and has been unknown the polynomial time algorithm. In this paper we suggest the heuristic algorithm with O(nlog n)time complexity to solve the optimal solution for this problem. This paper suggests the evaluation index to select the media most economically-efficient way and decides the media and the number of advertisement. While we utilize Excel, the proposed algorithm can be get the same optimal solution as LP for experimental data.

  • This paper describes the development of a modular simulation environment to analyze the performance of guided weapons. For the reusability of the simulation environment, components of the guided weapon simulation are modularized based on MATLAB Simulink. And the module management system is implemented based on Excel and MATLAB GUI for simulation interface and module management. In addition, a method of integration for modules with different interface and a method to set up the guidance and control phase for designing a guided flight scenario are suggested. Finally, to verify the performance of the implemented simulation environment, it was compared with the existing simulation results.

  • The main aim of the article is to solve the problem of automating price monitoring using marketing forecasting methods and Excel functionality under martial law. The study used the method of algorithms, trend analysis, correlation and regression analysis, ANOVA, extrapolation, index method, etc. The importance of monitoring consumer price developments in market pricing at the macro and micro levels is proved. The introduction of a Dummy variable to account for the influence of martial law in market pricing is proposed, both in linear multiple regression modelling and in forecasting the components of the Consumer Price Index. Experimentally, the high reliability of forecasting based on a five-factor linear regression model with a Dummy variable was proved in comparison with a linear trend equation and a four-factor linear regression model. Pessimistic, realistic and optimistic scenarios were developed for forecasting the Consumer Price Index for the situation of the end of the Russian-Ukrainian war until the end of 2023 and separately until the end of 2024.

  • The Korean halibut farming industry suffer from price instability and demand decrease due to various environmental and social issues. It is urgent to predict the appropriate amount of halibut production. However, it is not easy for employments working in the halibut farming industry to handle statistical tools in order to perform the prediction. In this paper, we implemented a Excel-based regression analysis tool that allows users to get a regression analysis result by just entering historical data in a sheet. Our tool will reduce workloads of employments working in the halibut farming industry by enabling them to perform a regression analysis with Excel on-the-fly. This study expect that by using the tool the halibut farming industry cope actively with the real-time change in the industry.
