A potent demethylating agent, 5-Azacytidine (5-AzaC) has been widely used as in many studies on DNA methylation, regulation of gene expression, and cancer biology. The mechanisms of the demethylating activity were known to be formation of complex between DNA and DNA methyltransferase (MTase), which depletes cellular MTase activity. However, 5-AzaC can also induce hypermethylation of a transgene in a transgenic cell line, G12 cells and it was explained as a result of defense mechanisms to inactivate foreign gene(s) somehow. This finding evoked the question that whether the phenomenon of hypermethylation induced by 5-AzaC is limited to the transgene or it can be occurred in endogenous gene(s). In order to answer the question, mutagenicity test of 5-AzaC and molecular characterization of mutants obtained from the test were performed using an endogenous gene, thymidine kinase (tk) in Chinese hamster V79 cells. When V79 and V79-J3 subclone cells were treated with 1, 2.5 ,5, $10{\mu}M$ of 5-AzaC for 48 hours, their maximum mutant frequencies were revealed as $6\times10^{-3}\;at\;5{\mu}M$(350-fold induction over background) and $8\times10^{-3}\;at\;2.5{\mu}M$ (l,800-fold induction over background) respectively. Since the induction rates were too high to be induced by true mutations, many trifluorothymidine (TFT)-resistant $(TFT^R)$ cells were subjected to Northern blot analysis to check the presence of tk transcripts. Surprisingly, all clones tested possessed the transcripts in a similar level, that implicates the $TFT^R$ phenotype induced by 5-AzaC has not given rise to hypermethylation of the gene in spite of unusually high mutation frequency. In addition, it has shown that the TK activity in the pool of 5-AzaC-induced $TFT^R$ cells has about a half of that in spontaneously-induced $TFT^R$ cells or in non-selected parental V79-J3 cells. This result suggests that the mechanism(s) underlying the TFT-resistance between spontaneously occurred and 5-AzaC-induced cells may be different. These findings have shown that the $TFT^R$ phenotype induced by 5-AzaC has not given rise to hypermethylation of the tk gene, and 5-AzaC may be induced by one or combined pathways among many drug resistance mechanisms. The exact mechanisms for the 5-AzaC-induced $TFT^R$ phenotype remain to elucidate.

Recently, the performance of smart devices is almost similar to that of the existing PCs, thus the users of smart devices can perform similar works such as messengers, SNSs(Social Network Services), smart banking, etc. originally performed in PC environment using smart devices. Although the development of smart devices has led to positive impacts, it has caused negative changes such as an increase in security threat aimed at mobile environment. Specifically, the threats of mobile devices, such as leaking private information, generating unfair billing and performing DDoS(Distributed Denial of Service) attacks has continuously increased. Over 80% of the mobile devices use android platform, thus, the number of damage caused by mobile malware in android platform is also increasing. In this paper, we propose android based malware detection mechanism using time-series analysis, which is one of statistical-based detection methods. We use auto-regressive moving-average model which is extracting accurate predictive values based on existing data among time-series model. We also use fast and exact malware detection method by extracting possible malware data through Z-Score. We validate the proposed methods through the experiment results.
An anonymous asymmetric fingerprinting protocol combined with watermarking techniques, is one of the copyright protection technologies keeping both right of a seller and that of a buyer, where a seller and an anonymous buyer perform such a protocol that employs various cryptographic tools in order that the seller does not know the exact watermarked copy that the buyer receives, while inserting an invisible non-removable fingerprint i.e., each different unique watermark, into each copy of the digital content to be sold. In such a protocol innocent buyers are kept anonymous during transactions, however, the unlawful reseller is unambiguously identified with a real identity as a copyright violator. In 2007, Yong and Lee proposed an anonymous asymmetric fingerprinting scheme with trusted third party. In this paper we point out the weakness of their scheme such as: the buyer with intention can remove the fingerprint in the watermarked content, because he/she can decrypt the encrypted fingerprint with a symmetric key using man-in-the-middle-attack; a real identity of a buyer can be revealed to the seller through the identification process even though he/she is honest. Furthermore, we propose an improved secure and efficient anonymous asymmetric fingerprinting scheme which enables to reduce the number of communication between the participants.

Damage of landslide due to earthquake covers a considerable part of total damage due to earthquake. Landslide due to earthquake affects direct damage of human lives and structures, and social system can be paralyzed by losing functions of roads, basic industries, and so on. Therefore, systematic and specialized research examining the factors affecting the slope stability by earthquakes should be needed. However, method of evaluation of slope stability problems due to earthquake contains somewhat uncertainty since many soil properties are predicted or assumed. In this study, influences of change of soil properties such as degree of saturation and cohesion value are analyzed in factor of safety and displacement using seismic landslide hazard maps based on GIS. As the degree of saturation increases or cohesion decreases, it is found that seismic landslide hazard area marked with factors of safety or displacements tends to increase. Therefore, to draw more exact landslide hazard map during earthquake, it is necessary to obtain accurate soil property information preferentially from site investigation data in the field.
Purpose: Cavity growth process monitoring is to periodically monitor changes in common size and topography for general and observational grades to predict the rate of common growth. The purpose of this study is to establish a systematic cavity management plan by evaluating the general and observational class community in a non-destructive method. Method: Using GPR exploration equipment, the acquired surface image and the surrounding status image are analyzed in the GPR probe radargram in depth, profile, and cross section of the location. The exact location is selected using the distance and surrounding markings shown on the road surface of the initial detection cavity, and the test cavity is analyzed by calling the radar at the corresponding location. Result: As a result of monitoring tests conducted at a cavity 30 sites of general and observation grade, nine sites have been recovered. Changes in scale were seen in 21 cavity locations, and changes in size and grade occurred in 13 locations. Conclusion: The under road cavity is caused by various causes such as damage to the burial site, poor construction, soil leakage caused by groundwater leakage, waste and ground vibration. Among them, indirect factors could infer the effects of groundwater and localized rainfall.

A pressurized wire mesh heating reactor (PWMR) can provide high pressure and temperature experimental conditions up to 50 atm and 1750 K, respectively. This equipment was developed to evaluate the intrinsic reaction kinetics of $CO_2$ gasification. A PWMR utilizes a platinum (Pt) wire mesh resistance to generate heat with a direct current (DC) electricity supply. This DC power supply can then be controlled by computer software to reach the exact expected terminal temperature and heating period. In this study, BERAU (sub-bituminous Indonesian coal) was pulverized then converted into char with a particle size of $90-150{\mu}m$. This was used in experiments with various pressures (1-40 atm) and temperatures (1373-1673 K) under atmospheric conditions. The internal and external effectiveness factor was analyzed to determine the effects of high pressure. The intrinsic reaction kinetics of BERAU char was obtained using $n^{th}$ order reaction rate equations. The value was determined to be 203.8kJ/mol.

Ornithine transcarbamylase (OTC) deficiency is a rare X-linked genetic disorder of urea synthesis in newborns. It is the most common urea cycle disorder and leads to elevated levels of ammonia in the blood. Excessive ammonia can cause various symptoms, including vomiting, lethargy, and coma. Boys have a more serious form of OTC deficiency than girls. If not treated immediately, severe OTC deficiency can lead to neurologic abnormalities, hyperammonemic coma, and death. Because late-onset OTC deficiency, which is more common in girls, presents mild symptoms, it is easy to miss diagnosis and prompt treatment. We describe an 11-month-old girl who presented periodic vomiting, intermittent lethargy, and seizure. She was diagnosed with OTC deficiency by elevated serum ammonia and urine orotic acid levels. Genetic analysis of the OTC gene revealed a missense mutation in exon 5 (c.418G>C). We reported an experience of exact diagnosis and successful treatment of late-onset OTC deficiency in our patient.
The objective of this study was to determine the best representative synthetic unit hydrograph that is applicable to ungaged small watershed. A typical unit hydrograph was established with the actual data from a small watershed. Four currently well-known methods for analyzing ungaged small watershed, including Snyder's, Clark's S.C.S. and Nash methods, were evaluated with the data from the same small watershed. The following observations were noted from the analysis of four methods. The Snyder's method yielded the similar peak discharge value as the typical unit hydrograph. With co-ordinates of three discharge values, i.e. 25%, 50% and 75% of peak discharge, were not adequate for deriving a typical unit hydrograph in ungaged small watershed. With Clark's method there shall be some way of obtaining the exact base length of time area diagram and isochrone of each reach of the stream. With Nash method peak discharge and base flow time are affected by the storage constant and gamma function argument; therefore, for deriving a more reliable and workable unit hydrograph one needs to select for the better estimation of storage constant and gamma function argument. In S.C.S. method peak discharge is directly related to the watershed area and inversely related to the time of peak diacharge. Therefore area with faster peak discharge yielded the higer peak discharge value. Although the peak discharge value obtained frome the S.C.S. method higher than the value obtained from the unit hydrograph developed from the actual data, this method contains a number of advantageous factors. The peak discharge value and the time of peak discharge can be claculated easity from the morphological characteristics of the watershed, and in S.C.S method co-ordinates of the unit hydrograph can be calculated easily from that of the dimensionless unit hydrograph. When the four currently used methods were evaluated with a typical unit hydrograph obtained from the actual data, the S.C.S method was show to be the best method in deriving a synthetic unit hydrograph for ungaged small watershed.
Purpose: The purpose of this work was to describe the results of treatment for motor vehiclerelated crushing injuries among children and adolescents under sixteen years in Korea. Materials and Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted of data from children who were under sixteen year and injured foot by motor vehicles. Cases were documented 1) age at the time of injury, 2) injured site, 3) the area of accident, 4) the kind of vehicle, 5) associated injuries, 6) methods of treatment for soft tissue reconstruction and 7) complications. The relationships between the area of accident and associated injuries, and the kind of vehicle and associated injuries were analyzed using Chi-square test and Fisher exact test. Results: There were 97 children who were 15 year and younger. The mean age was 7.4 years, and 65% were boys. The left foot was more dominant side of injury (57%). Seasonal variation was seen with the number of injuries peaking during the summer (43%, p<0.05). Among the vehicles, 78.3% were the large vehicles (bus, truck or van). The where of accident was more frequent at an alley or less than two lanes of traffic. But, the relationships between the place of accident and associated injury or the kind of vehicles and associated injury were not statistically significant. The associated injury were fracture or dislocation (23 cases, 35.9%), injury of tendon (21 cases, 32.8%). There were amputation or disarticulation of foot in 8 cases (8.2%) and post-traumatic deformities such as flatfoot, hindfoot varus or valus deformities by tendon injury in 7 cases (7.2%). Conclusion: More than 50% of crushing or degloving injuries of child's foot by traffic accidents happened in boys between 5 to 9 years old. The associated injury was unrelated with size of vehicles or accident place at the time of accident. But, even though foot injury happened in an alley or one lane by small vehicles, child who hurt feet by car need thorough investigation about associated injury. If a surgeon keep in mind and treat child to associated injury necessarily, can minimize complication. Microsurgical reconstruction for soft tissue defect was prior to other methods.

This research aims at the optimal constitution of sensors required to identify the structural shortcoming of roller-coaster. In this research we analyzed the dynamic characteristics of roller-coaster by three dimensional FE modelling, decided on the appropriate location and number of sensors through optimal transducer theory, abstracted the mathematical value of modal features before and after damage on the basis of optimally placed and numbered sensors. and then presented it as a primary information about the basic structure which would be applied to damage estimation. As a target structure, the roller-coater at Seoul Children's Grand Park was chosen and built as a model reduced by one twentieth in size. In order to consider the Kinetics features particular to the roller-coaster structure, we made an exact three-dimensional FE modelling for the model structure by means of Spline function. As for the proper location and number of sensors, it was done by applying EIM and EOT. We also estimated the damage from the combination of strength, flexibility, and model corelation after abstracting the value of modal features. Finally the optimal transducer theory presented here in this research was proved to be valid, and the structural damage was well identified through changes in strength and flexibility. As a result, we were able to present the optimal constitution of sensors needed for the analysis of dynamic characteristics and the development of techniques in dynamic characteristics, which would ultimately contribute to the development of health monitoring for roller-coaster.
