Event detection using social media has been widespread since social network services have been an active communication channel for connecting with others, diffusing news message. Especially, the real-time characteristic of social media has created the opportunity for supporting for real-time applications/systems. Social network such as Twitter is the potential data source to explore useful information by mining messages posted by the user community. This paper proposed a novel system for temporal event detection by analyzing social data. As a result, this information can be used by first responders, decision makers, or news agents to gain insight of the situation. The proposed approach takes advantages of deep learning methods that play core techniques on the main tasks including informative data identifying from a noisy environment and temporal event detection. The former is the responsibility of Convolutional Neural Network model trained from labeled Twitter data. The latter is for event detection supported by Recurrent Neural Network module. We demonstrated our approach and experimental results on the case study of earthquake situations. Our system is more adaptive than other systems used traditional methods since deep learning enables to extract the features of data without spending lots of time constructing feature by hand. This benefit makes our approach adaptive to extend to a new context of practice. Moreover, the proposed system promised to respond to acceptable delay within several minutes that will helpful mean for supporting news channel agents or belief plan in case of disaster events.

With the rapid advancement of technologies, need for different research fields where this technology can be used is also increasing. One of the most researched topic in computer vision is object detection, which has widely been implemented in various fields which include healthcare, video surveillance and education. The main goal of object detection is to identify and categorize all the objects in a target environment. Specifically, methods of object detection consist of a variety of significant techniq ues, such as image processing and patterns recognition. Anomaly detection is a part of object detection, anomalies can be found various scenarios for example crowded places such as subway stations. An abnormal event can be assumed as a variation from the conventional scene. Since the abnormal event does not occur frequently, the distribution of normal and abnormal events is thoroughly imbalanced. In terms of public safety, abnormal events should be avoided and therefore immediate action need to be taken. When abnormal events occur in certain places, real time detection is required to prevent and protect the safety of the people. To solve the above problems, we propose a modified YOLOv5 object detection algorithm by implementing dilated convolutional layers which achieved 97% mAP50 compared to other five different models of YOLOv5. In addition to this, we also created a simple mobile application to avail the abnormal event detection on mobile phones.

As the usage of social network services increases, event information occurring offline is spreading more rapidly. Therefore, studies have been conducted to detect events by analyzing social data. In this paper, we propose a graph based event detection scheme considering user interest in social networks. The proposed scheme constructs a keyword graph by analyzing tweets posted by users. We calculates the interest measure from users' social activities and uses it to identify events by considering changes in interest. Therefore, it is possible to eliminate events that are repeatedly posted without meaning and improve the reliability of the results. We conduct various performance evaluations to demonstrate the superiority of the proposed event detection scheme.
As the number of social network users increases, the information on event such as social issues and disasters receiving attention in each region is promptly posted by the bucket through social media site in real time, and its social ripple effect becomes huge. This study proposes a detection method of events that draw attention from users in specific region at specific time by using twitter data with regional information. In order to collect Twitter data, we use Twitter Streaming API. After collecting data, We implemented event detection system by analyze the frequency of a keyword which contained in a twit in a particular time and clustering the keywords that describes same event by exploiting keywords' co-occurrence graph. Finally, we evaluates the validity of our method through experiments.
In this paper, the deep convolutional neural network for sound event detection is studied. Especially, the end-to-end neural network, which generates the detection results from the input audio waveform, is studied for weakly supervised problem that includes weakly-labeled and unlabeled dataset. The proposed system is based on the network structure that consists of deeply-stacked 1-dimensional convolutional neural networks, and enhanced by the skip connection and gating mechanism. Additionally, the proposed system is enhanced by the sound event detection and post processings, and the training step using the mean-teacher model is added to deal with the weakly supervised data. The proposed system was evaluated by the Detection and Classification of Acoustic Scenes and Events (DCASE) 2019 Task 4 dataset, and the result shows that the proposed system has F1-scores of 54 % (segment-based) and 32 % (event-based).
In this paper, we propose a sound event detection method using a multi-channel multi-scale neural networks for sound sensing home monitoring for the hearing impaired. In the proposed system, two channels with high signal quality are selected from several wireless microphone sensors in home. The three features (time difference of arrival, pitch range, and outputs obtained by applying multi-scale convolutional neural network to log mel spectrogram) extracted from the sensor signals are applied to a classifier based on a bidirectional gated recurrent neural network to further improve the performance of sound event detection. The detected sound event result is converted into text along with the sensor position of the selected channel and provided to the hearing impaired. The experimental results show that the sound event detection method of the proposed system is superior to the existing method and can effectively deliver sound information to the hearing impaired.
In this paper, we propose a home monitoring system using sound event detection based on a bidirectional gated recurrent neural network for the hard-of-hearing. First, in the proposed system, packet loss concealment is used to recover a lost signal captured through wireless sensor networks, and reliable channels are selected using multi-channel cross correlation coefficient for effective sound event detection. The detected sound event is converted into the text and haptic signal through a harmonic/percussive sound source separation method to be provided to hearing impaired people. Experimental results show that the performance of the proposed sound event detection method is superior to the conventional methods and the sound can be expressed into detailed haptic signal using the source separation.
Sound event detection is one of the research areas to model human auditory cognitive characteristics by recognizing events in an environment with multiple acoustic events and determining the onset and offset time for each event. DCASE, a research group on acoustic scene classification and sound event detection, is proceeding challenges to encourage participation of researchers and to activate sound event detection research. However, the size of the dataset provided by the DCASE Challenge is relatively small compared to ImageNet, which is a representative dataset for visual object recognition, and there are not many open sources for the acoustic dataset. In this study, the sound events that can occur in indoor and outdoor are collected on a larger scale and annotated for dataset construction. Furthermore, to improve the performance of the sound event detection task, we developed a dual CNN structured sound event detection system by adding a supplementary neural network to a convolutional neural network to determine the presence of sound events. Finally, we conducted a comparative experiment with both baseline systems of the DCASE 2016 and 2017.
Sound Event Detection (SED) aims to identify not only sound category but also time interval for target sounds in an audio waveform. It is a critical technique in field of acoustic surveillance system and monitoring system. Recently, various models have introduced through Detection and Classification of Acoustic Scenes and Events (DCASE) Task 4. This paper explored how to design optimal parameters of DenseNet based model, which has led to outstanding performance in other recognition system. In experiment, DenseRNN as an SED model consists of DensNet-BC and bi-directional Gated Recurrent Units (GRU). This model is trained with Mean teacher model. With an event-based f-score, evaluation is performed depending on parameters, related to model architecture as well as model training, under the assessment protocol of DCASE task4. Experimental result shows that the performance goes up and has been saturated to near the best. Also, DenseRNN would be trained more effectively without dropout technique.

Windows Event Log is a format that records system log in Windows operating system and methodically manages information about system operation. An event can be caused by system itself or by user's specific actions, and some event logs can be used for corporate security audits, malware detection and so on. In this paper, we choose actions related to corporate security audit and malware detection (External storage connection, Application install, Shared folder usage, Printer usage, Remote connection/disconnection, File/Registry manipulation, Process creation, DNS query, Windows service, PC startup/shutdown, Log on/off, Power saving mode, Network connection/disconnection, Event log deletion and System time change), which can be detected through event log analysis and classify event IDs that occur in each situation. Also, the existing event log tools only include functions related to the EVTX file parse and it is difficult to track user's behavior when used in a forensic investigation. So we implemented new analysis tool in this study which parses EVTX files and user behaviors.
