This paper presents a heating source of carbon nanofibers for the efficiency and the drying performance of laundry dryer, and focuses on the applicability-evaluation of its source. To design the proposed heating module, experiments were conducted in terms of surface temperature and surface temperature distribution characteristics of carbon nanofiber lamps. The surface temperature of the lamps increased linearly with increment of a current to flow a lamp and revealing the increasing pattern as the length of the ramps is shorter. The proposed heating source was evaluated based on drying efficiency, moisture evaporation rate at laundry, and internal temperature of a drum during drying process. The drying efficiency satisfied a 45% which is specified in KS C 9319. The moisture evaporation rate and the internal temperature of the drum were respectively 98.88% and $61.1^{\circ}C$, which are similar to that of S's company dryer. From the evaluation and actual drying test results, the proposed carbon nanofiber lamp heating module is considered to be applicable as a heat source for laundry dryer in terms of drying efficiency and drying performance. it is possible to obtain a heat source at a high temperature, an excellent calorific value, an improvement in drying performance, and an effect of sterilizing laundry due to the emission of far-infrared rays. In addition to the applicability, the difference of the drying efficiency between the dryers was analyzed in detail based on the power consumption of the heat sources.

This paper describes an analysis on performance and exergy of R744-R404A cascade refrigeration system with internal heat exchanger to optimize the design for the operating parameters of this system. The operating parameters considered in this study include subcooling and superheating degree, internal heat exchanger and compression efficiency, evaporation and condensation temperature in the R744 low- and R404A high- temperature cycle, respectively. The main results are summarized as follows : As the evaporation temperature of cascade heat exchanger increases, the COP of R404A high-temperature cycle increases. But the COP of R744 low-temperature cycle decreases, and the COP of total cascade cycle is almost constant. As cascade evaporation temperature increase, the exergy loss in the R404A condenser and the R744 internal heat exchanger is the largest and the lowest among all components, respectively. Therefore, the exergy loss in the condenser and compressor of R404A must be decreased to enhance the COP of R744-R404A cascade refrigeration system.

This paper proposes a new approach to find the optimum ratios between sizes of the heat exchangers of the heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) system with limited size to maximize the efficiency of the steam turbine (bottom) cycle of combined cycle power plants (CCPP), but without performing the bottom cycle analysis. This could be achieved by minimizing the unavailable exergy (the sum of the destroyed and the lost exergies) resulted from the heat transfer process of the HRSG system. The present approach is relatively simple and straightforward because the process of the trial-and-error method, typical in performing the bottom cycle analysis for the system optimization, could be avoided. To demonstrate the usefulness of the present method, a single-stage HRSG system was chosen and the optimum evaporation temperature was obtained corresponding to the condition of the maximum useful work. The results show that the optimum evaporation temperature based on the present exergy analysis appears similar to that based on the bottom cycle analysis. Also shown is the dependency of size (NTU) ratios between the heat exchangers on the inlet gas temperature, which is another important factor in determining the optimum condition once overall size of the heat recovery steam generator is given. The present approach turned out to be a useful tool for optimization of the singlestage HRSG systems and can easily be extended to multi-stage systems.

Over the past decade, the major efforts for lowering the cost of electronics has been devoted to increasing the packaging efficiency of the integrated circuits (ICs), which is defined by the ratio of all devices on system-level board compared to the area of the board, and to working on a larger but cheaper substrates. Especially, in flexible electronics, the latter has been the favorable way along with using novel nanomaterials that have excellent mechanical flexibility and electrical properties as active channel materials and conductive films. Here, the tool for achieving large area patterning is by printing methods. Although diverse printing methods have been investigated to produce highly-aligned structures of the nanomaterials with desired patterns, many require laborious processes that need to be further optimized for practical applications, showing a clear limit to the design of the nanomaterial patterns in a large scale assembly. Here, we demonstrate the alignment of highly ordered and dense silicon (Si) NW arrays to anisotropically etched micro-engraved structures using a simple evaporation process. During evaporation, entropic attraction combined with the internal flow of the NW solution induced the alignment of NWs at the corners of pre-defined structures. The assembly characteristics of the NWs were highly dependent on the polarity of the NW solutions. After complete evaporation, the aligned NW arrays were subsequently transferred onto a flexible substrate with 95% selectivity using a direct gravure printing technique. As proof-of-concept, flexible back-gated NW field effect transistors (FETs) were fabricated. The fabricated FETs had an effective hole mobility of 0.17 $cm2/V{\cdot}s$ and an on/off ratio of ${\sim}1.4{\times}104$. These results demonstrate that our NW gravure printing technique is a simple and effective method that can be used to fabricate high-performance flexible electronics based on inorganic materials.
It has been well studied and known that the yields from the rice fields irrigated by the cold water such as the water directly flowing in from mountain valleies, underground water and subground water are largely influenced by the water temperature. However, the best method of raising water temperature has not yet been established. This is because there are some essentially difficult problems associated. When we examine the effects of $1^{\circ}C$ rise in the water temperature under natural condition on rice growing, the necessity of this line of study is verified. The results of Mihara's study show that rice bears its fruits at the water temperature above $19^{\circ}C$ and the difference of $1^{\circ}C$ in the range of $19^{\circ}C$ to $22^{\circ}C$ can produce the 20% of difference in yields. Because of these facts, most farmers have made use of water temperature raising ponds, zigzag waterways and shelter belts. But the most important factor in raising water temperature has been found to be the heat loss due to evaporation. Recently, a good deal of experiment on raising water temperature and soil temperature by reducing the evaporation are being carried out all over the world. The reduction of evaporation does not only reduce heat loss, from the surface but also reduce the loss of water. Present study is aimed to determine the efficiency of different chemicals by which monomolecular films are formed over different surfaces such as water surface, soil surface and the surface of plant leaves with a purpose of preventing the transpiration, and aimed to observe the effects of the temperature rise and its influence on growing state as well as the durability of the plants under drought condition.

$Cu(In_{1-x},Ga_x)Se_2$ thin films have been considered as an effective absorber material for high efficient solar cells. In this paper, the CIGS thin films with varied Ga content were prepared using a co-evaporation process of three stage. We carry out structure and electrical optical property on the thin film in varied Ga content. CIGS thin films have been characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), energy-dispersive spectroscopy(EDS), four-point probe measurement, and the Hall measurement. To optimize Ga contents, Ga/(In+Ga) ratio were changed from 0.13 to 0.72. At this time the carrier concentrations were varied from $1.22{\times}10^{11}\;cm^{-3}$ to $5.07{\times}10^{16}\;cm^{-3}$, and electrical resistivity were varied from $1.11{\times}10^0\;{\Omega}-cm$ to $1.08{\times}10^2\;{\Omega}-cm$. A strong <220/204> orientation and a lager grain size were obtained at a Ga/(In+Ga) of 0.3. We were able to achieve conversion efficiency as high as 15.95% with a Ga/(In+Ga) of 0.3.
In this study, a drying method that can effectively remove residual solvent from (+)-dihydromyricetin was developed. Residual acetone concentration was efficiently removed below ICH-specified value (5,000 ppm) by simple rotary evaporation with ethanol pretreatment. In addition, the residual ethanol met the ICH-specified value (5,000 ppm) by simple rotary evaporation through the addition of water, and the residual moisture also met the specified value (<4%) for active pharmaceutical ingredients. At all the drying temperature (35, 45, and 55 ℃), a large amount of the residual solvent was initially removed during the drying, and the drying efficiency increased when increasing the drying temperature. Removal of residual solvent by ethanol pretreatment was shown to be related to high vapor pressure of acetone-ethanol mixture and hydrogen bonding between acetone and ethanol.
To analyze the cause of the destruction of thin, carbon-backed lithium fluoride targets during a measurement of the fusion of 7Li and 17O, we estimate theoretically the lifetimes of carbon and LiF films due to sputtering, thermal evaporation, and lattice damage and compare them with the lifetime observed in the experiment. Sputtering yields and thermal evaporation rates in carbon and LiF films are too low to play significant roles in the destruction of the targets. We estimate the lifetime of the target due to lattice damage of the carbon backing and the LiF film using a previously reported model. In the experiment, elastically scattered target and beam ions were detected by surface silicon barrier (SSB) detectors so that the product of the beam flux and the target density could be monitored during the experiment. The areas of the targets exposed to different beam intensities and fluences were degraded and then perforated, forming holes with a diameter around the beam spot size. Overall, the target thickness tends to decrease linearly as a function of the beam fluence. However, the thickness also exhibits an increasing interval after SSB counts per beam ion decreases linearly, extending the target lifetime. The lifetime of thin LiF film as determined by lattice damage is calculated for the first time using a lattice damage model, and the calculated lifetime agrees well with the observed target lifetime during the experiment. In experiments using a thin LiF target to induce nuclear reactions, this study suggests methods to predict the lifetime of the LiF film and arrange the experimental plan for maximum efficiency.
Solid lipid nanoparticle (SLN) system has been attracted increasing attention during last few years as a potential drug delivery carrier However, the SLN have disadvantage of low encapsulation efficiency for hydrophilic drug. In this study, for increase it's encapsulation efficiency, we prepared the $Eudragit^{\circledR}$ L100-55 (eudragit) coated SLN(E-SLN) based on solvent evaporation method and melt dispersion technique, and analyzed their physicochemical properties in terms of particle size, morphology, and encapsulation efficiency. As a result, they have a ${\pm}150$ nm particle size, spherical shape, and $10^{\sim}25$ % loading efficiency. SLN consists of coconut oil as core material, ascorbic acid and okyong-san as hydrophilic drug.
This paper present the performance characteristics of R404A two-stage compression refrigeration system. The operating parameters considered in this study include evaporating and condensing temperature, subcooling and superheating degree, compressor efficiency. The main results were summarized as follows: The COP of two-stage compression refrigeration system using R404A has an effect on the variation of evaporation temperature, condensation temperature, subcooling degree and compressor efficiency, but not an effect on the superheating degree. R404A two-stage compression refrigeration system is unstable because COP of this system is significantly changed when evaporating temperature and compressor efficiency decreased. In particular, when compressor efficiency decreased, COP is significantly decreased. This is inefficient for long-term use.
