4년제 간호대학(과) 아동간호학 실습교육의 현황과 발전방향 (Evaluation of Clinical Practicum for Child Health Nursing)

  • Purpose: The purpose of study was to describe and evaluate the educational status regarding clinical practicum for child health nursing to facilitate student's clinical compliance for the bachelor's degree in Korea. Methods: The study was a descriptive study and included data from 40 institutions among the 53 university nursing programs in Korea(75.5% response rate). Data were collected using mailed semi structured questionnaires and content analysis was done. Results: Findings show that most institutions have common learning objectives for the clinical practicum; neonatal care, high risk infant care, hospitalized child care, and advanced nursing practice. The mode for theoretical credits in child health nursing was 5 to 6 and 3 to 4 credits for clinical practice. The practice settings were prepared to provide diverse experiences, including childcare centers, and community centers with various learning activities. Evaluation for learning outcomes included faculty and instructors. It was pointed out that updating evaluation based on student and faculty feedback is important for a comprehensive practicum evaluation. Conclusions: Findings suggest that there is a -need for a generalized curriculum for clinical practicum and for the expanding role of advanced nursing practice-, a need for diverse clinical settings for practice, and effective guidance and learning activities. It is significantly noted that the attitude and teaching methodologies of clinical instructor's are highly important to effective clinical learning outcomes.

간호학생의 임상실무수행능력 평가도구 개발 (Development of Evaluation Tool for Clinical Nursing Practice Competency of Nursing students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to development and measure validity and reliability of evaluation tool for clinical nursing practice competency of Nursing students. Method: The participants in this study were 568 nurses who had worked for more than three years above in hospitals. A questionnaire of 79 items was administered to the nurses using a convenience sampling method. The data were collected from Sep. 12th, to Oct. 20th, 2004. Result: The derived outcome tool consisted of 6 factors of direct nursing actions and 6 factors of indirect nursing actions on the basis of 79 items. The 6 factors in direct nursing actions accounted for 76.84% of the variance and 6 factors in indirect nursing actions accounted for 79.68% of the variance on total scale. As a result of the item analysis, 79 items were selected and the internal consistency alpha coefficient was .9917. The value of Cronbach' alpha of direct nursing actions was .9640, indirect nursing actions was .9550. Conclusion: The results of this study show that useful application to the evaluation tool of clinical practice competency of Nursing students and further studies need to be done to verify clinical practice educational evaluation.

중환자실 간호사의 호흡기계 병원감염관리 인지도와 실천정도 조사연구 (Recognition, Self and Objective Evaluations of Nosocomial Respiratory Infection Control Practices by ICU Nurses)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was two-fold : to describe the level of recognition of nosocomial respiratory infections by ICU nurses and to compare self evaluation and objective evaluation of nosocomial respiratory infection control practices by ICU nurses. Method: Data were collected from 78 nurses in intensive care units in one university affiliated hospital in Kyung Ki Province. Data were collected from March 4 to March 18, 2002. The recognition and self evaluation data were collected through a self report questionnaire and an objective evaluation which was done by observing the actual behavior of the nurses. Result: The results of this study showed that there was a significant positive relationship between recognition scores and self evaluation scores. However, there was no significant relationship between level of recognition and objective evaluation, nor between self evaluation and objective evaluation of infection control Practices by ICU nurses. Conclusion: ICU nurses In this study gave higher scores on self evaluation of their practice than were shown in the observation evaluation of actual practice. Moreover, in the objective evaluation the nurses had the lowest score on the item, 'washing hands before taking care of patients'. The results indicate that it is necessary to develop a standardized practice manual on nosocomial respiratory infection control in the ICU. Also, it is necessary to have a program to transfer knowledge into actual practice.

조리 실습 교육에 대한 고등학생.대학생.교사의 인식 수준 비교 연구 (A Study on the Recognition Level of High School and University Students and Teachers about Culinary Practice Education)

  • This study was conducted with the purpose of surveying the high school and university students and culinary teachers in charge of guidance in cooking related departments to see the recognition levels of culinary practice education and to suggest improvement plans. The subjects of this research were 616 culinary high school students, 419 culinary university students, and 103 culinary teachers. The collected data was compared and analyzed by frequency and percentage. The collected data was analyzed(i. e., $X^2$ test and t-test) using SPSS 14.0(SPSS Inc, Chicago, USA). Learning demands were shown to be high and much more practice was demanded, so it is required to raise the importance of culinary arts as a subject. Manpower placement, such as practice assistant teachers and practice teachers, is necessary and more training support for teachers' professional ability expansion is required. Moreover, it is required that practices after theory study, video education, and practice demonstrations should be performed and multimedia developed. Detailed practice demonstrations should be enabled and foreign subject education should be performed. The general evaluation in which feedback is appropriately made, along with the evaluation of practice courses and results needs to be performed. Positive school life should be prepared by performing proper course education simultaneously.

4년제 간호대학(과) 지역사회간호학 실습교육의 현황분석 (Current Status of Community Health Nursing Practicum in Bachelor Program in Korea)

  • Purpose: This study was to investigate the current situation of community health nursing practicum in bachelor programs. Method: Data were collected using a questionnaire consisting of questions on education goals, teaching items, teaching methods, and evaluation methods and items. Forty five nursing departments/colleges or 84.9% of four-year nursing schools in Korea responded to the survey. Result: Nursing process application and understanding about the role and function of community health nurses were major goals of practice education. Community health centers were the most significant practice fields because all nursing schools mentioned them as places for practice. All nursing schools used a specific evaluation tool to measure students outcomes and utilized guidebooks to help students. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that the goals of practice education should be standardized to improve the quality of education. Besides, evaluation tools that can be used commonly at all nursing schools should be developed to measure the effectiveness of practice education of community health nursing.

6년제 약학대학에서의 필수실무실습 현황과 평가 - 병원약국실무실습 중심으로 - (Construction and Evaluation of the Student Practice Program in the Hospital under the 6-year College of Pharmacy Curriculum)

  • Background: 6-year College of Pharmacy curriculum had started in Korea, and the students in college of pharmacy are supposed to have student practice in the hospital pharmacy, community pharmacy, pharmaceutical company and administration to experience the role of pharmacists in advance. However, despite Korean Association of Pharmacy Education provided its own teaching plan, most Pharmacy Schools and the hospital pharmacy have difficulty in performing the desirable student practice program because they seldom experienced it. So, we reported the student practice program in the hospital pharmacy conducted by Yonsei University College of Pharmacy prior to the other numerous universities and the evaluation of survey on the student pharmacy practice program. Method: Severance Hospital, Gangnam Severance Hospital and National Health Insurance Service Ilsan Hospital took part in the student pharmacy practice program of Yonsei University. Students took 8-week pharmacy practice in Severance Hospital or Gangnam Severance Hospital plus 4-week pharmacy practice in National Health Insurance Service Ilsan Hospital. Also, students had once-a-week presentation class at school. A survey was conducted to evaluate the student practice program. Results: The presentation class was considerably helpful to share their own experiences at different practice sites in different hospitals, but there were some disadvantages that students could not experience the specific pharmacy practice site on the day of once-a-week presentation at school and so on. The results of the survey on the student practice program reported that students were satisfied with the overall practice program and presentation class at school. Also, they answered that the student practice program in the hospital pharmacy was significantly helpful for planning of the future career. Conclusion: Through the performance of the student practice program in Yonsei University, the adjustment of the student practice program in the hospital is planned to provide better experience of practice to the students and the results will be helpful for the student practice in the hospital of the other colleges of pharmacy.

CIPP 평가모형을 활용한 치위생과 교내임상실습 운영 평가기준 개발 (Development of evaluation criteria for dental hygiene intra-school clinical practice operation using CIPP evaluation model)

  • 연구목적: 본 연구는 교내에서 실시하는 임상실습의 효율적인 운영을 위한 운영관리 평가기준을 개발하고 타당성과 신뢰성을 검증하였다. 연구방법: 본 연구의 평가기준 초안은 CIPP 프로그램 평가모형을 기반으로 도출하였으며, 내용의 타당성을 검증하기 위하여 5년 이상 임상실습 교육을 담당했던 치위생과 교수 및 임상현장 치과위생사 30명을 대상으로 델파이 조사를 실시하였으며, 실기교육을 담당하는 교수 및 임상현장 치과위생사 252명을 대상으로 본 조사를 실시하였다. 연구결과: 탐색적 요인분석을 통해 7개 요인으로 총 36문항을 확인하였으며 최종 평가 기준의 내적 일관성을 확인한 결과 내적 적합도는 0.914였다. 결론: 이상의 결과에 따라 교내 임상실습의 운영 및 관리를 평가하기 위한 평가기준의 타당성과 신뢰성이 적절함을 확인하였으며, 향후 이에 관련된 후속 연구에 활용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

간호대학생의 아동간호학 임상실습 자가평가 분석 (Nursing Students' Self-evaluation Analysis on Pediatric Nursing Clinical Practice)

  • 본 연구는 아동간호학 임상실습을 경험한 간호대학생의 학습역량 성취도와 임상실습 만족도 그리고 서술형 총평의 분석을 통해 아동간호학 임상실습 학습성과 달성 전략의 기초자료를 제공하기 위하여 시도되었다. 대상자는 B광역시 K대학교의 간호학과 4학년으로 2016년 2월 24일부터 동년 6월 24일까지 아동간호학 실습을 마친 총 115명 이었다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 18.0 프로그램 및 내용분석으로 결과를 도출하였다. 간호대학생의 학습역량 성취도와 임상실습 만족도는 높게 나타났으며 연령에 따른 학습역량 성취도는 유의한 차이가 있었다. 그리고 아동간호학 임상실습을 통해 '제한된 실습경험에 대한 아쉬움' 등을 보고하였다. 따라서 간호대학생들의 아동간호학 임상실습 학습 목표를 달성하기 위해 기술영역의 학습역량 성취도를 증진시키고, 실습기관에 대한 만족도를 향상시킬 수 있는 임상실습 전략이 필요하다고 본다.

COVID-19 전·후의 보건계열 학생들의 임상 실습 만족도의 변화 (Changes in Clinical Practice Satisfaction of Healthcare Students Before and After COVID-19)

  • PURPOSE: This study sought to investigate the change in the satisfaction levels of healthcare students regarding clinical practice before and after the coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19) outbreak. METHODS: This was a longitudinal survey using a structured questionnaire. The first survey was conducted before the COVID-19 outbreak in April 2018, and the second survey was conducted after the outbreak from May to June 2022. The questionnaire used before and after COVID-19 had the same content and was categorized into the following six factors to determine clinical practice satisfaction: practice guidance, practice environment, practice time, practice evaluation, interpersonal relationships, and effectiveness of practice. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, a total of 153 healthcare students (average age: 22.43 ± 1.47 years old), participated from 4 departments: nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and dental hygiene. After COVID-19, 84 students (average age: 22.75 ± 2.87 years old), from the physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing, and dental hygiene departments participated in the survey. RESULTS: Clinical practice satisfaction was evaluated considering the factors of practical guidance, practice environment, practice time, interpersonal relationships, and practical effects. It was observed that the satisfaction with clinical practice increased in nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and dental hygiene students after COVID-19 compared to the situation before the outbreak. There was no difference seen in the practice time and practice evaluation factors in the occupational therapy department and in the practice time factor in the dental hygiene department before and after COVID. CONCLUSION: In clinical practice under the extremely constrained circumstances imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, it seems that the emotional internal response is greater, and the satisfaction with clinical practice appears to be relatively higher than before the outbreak.

응급구조(학)과 학생들의 구급현장실습 표준 평가도구의 유용성에 관한 연구 (A study on the usefulness of standard evaluation tools for ambulance ride practices of paramedic students)

  • Purpose: This study tests the validity of a standard evaluation tool of ambulance ride practices with new evaluation items and supports its application by 119 preceptors. Methods: We tested the validity of standard evaluation items collected from 19 on-site professionals assessing ambulance ride practices. New evaluation items, 'understanding of emergency rescue equipment' and 'ability to communicate', were added as additional criteria. The modified Delphi technique was used to test the three evaluation areas and ten evaluation items. We used the analytic hierarchy process to analyze the weighting value of the reconstructed evaluation tool model. Results: All three evaluation areas and 10 evaluation items within the standard evaluation tools used for ambulance ride practices corresponded with the consistency index, degree of convergence, and agreement in the modified Delphi panel. Conclusion: These results provide evidence of the consistency and usefulness behind preceptors' use of this standard evaluation tool in ambulance ride practice.
