This study is to evaluate the performance and suggest alternative plans of the public libraries in Taegu Metropolitan City. Regression analysis is used to fit a log-log equation to the total budget-output for all the public libraries. The results of the performance evaluation confirm that there is diseconomies of scale in library operations(${\Sigma}b_n$ 3,732). Therefore, all the public libraries should be improve productivity by restructuring of library identity, rational selection of physical sites and new branch library planning, userbased budget allocation and collection development, staffing and reengineering, optimalization of web site, and enforcement of service functions, etc.

Reliability evaluation of One-Shot systems which fly at speed of Mach must evaluate as the result which leads a many firing test. But many firing test the fact that is impossible is actuality with problem of budget. Method of prediction leads consequently with alternative and will be able to present the alternative which evaluates. Prediction of One-Shot systems that how many did accumulate a many experience data according to the accuracy is decided, there is a possibility of seeing. One like shot our country and the method which is indirect leads from the environment where the test data is insufficient and only will not be able to set the direction of prediction, the present paper about such method describes 217 Plus where is a reliability prediction standard which is new the thing in standard.

The purpose of this study was to measure consumption values and to investigate the differences in the process of decision making when purchasing apparel products among groups divided by consumption values. A self-administered questionnaire was distributed to 550 subjects in their 20's and 30's from Sepember 29th to October 25th in 2001; 463 were used for the data analysis. The results of this study were as follows; Consumption values were classified into five factors: Practical/functional value, Social/conformitive value, Subjective/aesthetic value, Epistemic value and Conspicuous value. Subjects were classified into 4 groups based on consumption values: the Conspicuous, the Epistemic, the Social/conformitive and the Indifferent. There were significant differences among the four groups in selected motives in the problem recognition process. Significant differences were found among the groups in own taste & personality in the information search process. Significant difference were also found in the importance of design, color, price, coordination, fashion and self-image in the alternative evaluation process.

This paper presents the results of power flow of North-South Korea system with interconnected cases which were proposed by various present studies PSS/E and PowerWorld Simulator were used to analyze the inter connected system with several interconnected lines alternatives. The results would be very useful to select the best alternative for interconnection with considering several evaluation terms.

This study suggests the effectiveness of an "extended" power system evaluation methodology based on LCA and energy input-output analysis techniques. This "extended" evaluation methodology is designed to incorporate total energy system costs through fuel cycle and external costs, including CO$_2$abatement cost. As an empirical test, we applied the methodology to orimulsion-fired power generation technology and found that orimulsion could be considered as in attractive base-load power generation fuel in terms of economic and environmental aspects, compared to conventional coal-fired power plant.

Altruistic virtuous caring, possibly originated from religion and/or spirituality, is indispensable for holistic health through channeling vital energy with diet, exercise and meditation. This is a participant-observed medical anthropological research of a first generation Korean elderly immigrant health professional woman living in a four generational family. She had hypertension and was concerned about possible attack of stroke. Multi-religious, spiritual, and cosmological vital energy based on holistic Nature-oriented health beliefs and practices influenced by psychosocial, cultural and economic background, education, self- discipline and self-cultivation of individual, and group or family may create health. Self-care beliefs based on confidence in self-control of one's life style for oneself and others influence individual and group health practice. The holistic alternative health beliefs and practices were proved to be efficacious and beneficial by her self-evaluation, evaluation of significant others, biomedical professionals, and laboratory tests. That may have potential application for global health.

In this paper, we propose a hybrid routing scheme that utilizes location information to support reliable data transmission in mobile ad hoc networks. The proposed scheme determines and maintains routing path by considering the directionality and connectivity of nodes using grid zones and information on neighbor nodes. In addition, it generates alternative paths with consideration for node distance and reliability. To show the superiority of the proposed routing scheme, a performance evaluation was conducted using simulations. The performance evaluation results show that the proposed scheme offers faster and more reliable data transmission than the existing routing schemes, and the number of messages decreases by approximately 31% compared to the existing schemes on average.

Nigeria's non-government organization (NGO) libraries for the visually impaired has over the years been at the forefront of information services provision to persons with visual impairment. This study adopted a survey research design to investigate use of alternative formats and perceptions of information services to the visually impaired, focusing on two purposively chosen NGO libraries for the visually impaired in Nigeria. Using a complete enumeration approach, data were gathered from 180 users of the libraries through the use of a structured questionnaire with a reliability score (${\alpha}=0.74$). Data from 112 (62.2%) of the 180 administered copies of a questionnaire that were retrieved were analysed. The study found that Braille materials had a high level of utilization ($\bar{x}=4.46$) and were the most frequently utilized (90.9%). Perception of information services by the visually impaired was positive while use of alternative formats was significantly and positively related to users' perception of information services (r = .041; p < 0.05). The study recommends improved transcription and investment in alternative formats and in e-resources. It also recommends collaborations to widen access as well as constant evaluation of services.

One form of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM), oriental medicine has developed differently from the western medicine under its own environment and history. Western medicine was introduced to Korea about 120 years ago. But unfortunately, there still is an indisputable lack of cooperative movement between oriental medicine ＆ western medicine. However, the market share of CAM has grown markedly in most industrialized countries (the United States, Europe, Australia, and Asia). In these countries, alternative medicine such as acupuncture and herbal remedies was adopted as a "complementary" therapies of mainstream medicine, to calm the symptoms of terminal illness. Recently in Korea, there was a movement to cooperate oriental medicine ＆ western medicine. However, until this time in Korea, there was a conflict between oriental medicine ＆ western medicine. They blame each other. Such as "Other side is guilty of improper evaluation of patients, possibly suppressing effective therapies of their own side and profit-motivated". Though most western medicine practitioners criticize oriental medicine, the level of adopting alternative forms of health care by the public and by some western medicine practitioners will continue to increase. Therefore oriental medicine ＆ western medicine share a mutual responsibility to apply evidence-based practices, to seek scientific empirical proof through planned interventions, and to increase the quality of health care.lity of health care.

Objectives : To document the use and out-of-pocket expenditure of complementary and alternative medicine(CAM) in Korean adult population. Methods : Nationwide, random-sampled, and population-weighted telephone survey was conducted. The sample size of respondents was 1,000(age over 18). The respondents were asked about their use, out-of pocket expenditure of CAM in the past 12 months. SAS 8.0 statistic package was used for checking the relevance between each variables by performing $x^2-test$ and variance evaluation. Results : In 2001, 64.0% of people experienced more than one alternative therapy and the beneficiary took therapy average figure of 2.07. Alternative therapies were generally used for health promotion(73.7%) rather than curing the disease(26.3%). The most common therapies included Medication(30.2%), Physical-therapy(21.9%) health implements(20.8%), herb medication(19.2%), diet therapy(14.3%) etc. Average annual out-of-pocket expenditure was ￡<192,186. Use varied according to age, living province, income, and education, while cost expenditure did according to sex, health condition, income, education. Conclusions : The use of CAM in Korea is very large and the expenditure for them is 22.6% of national medical expenditure. It shows great need of political and academic approach.
