Evaluation of a Self-Adaptive Voltage Control Scheme for Low-Power FPGAs

  • This paper presents a fine-grain supply-voltage-control scheme for low-power FPGAs. The proposed supply-voltage-control scheme detects the critical path in real time with small overheads by exploiting features of asynchronous architectures. In an FPGA based on the proposed supply-voltage-control scheme, logic blocks on the sub-critical path are autonomously switched to a lower supply voltage to reduce the power consumption without system performance degradation. Moreover, in order to reduce the overheads of level shifters used at the power domain interface, a look-up-table without level shifters is employed. Because of the small overheads of the proposed supply-voltage-control scheme and the power domain interface, the granularity size of the power domain in the proposed FPGA is as fine as a single four-input logic block. The proposed FPGA is fabricated using the e-Shuttle 65 nm CMOS process. Correct operation of the proposed FPGA on the test chip is confirmed.

변형지도 모델링을 통한 구리 분말 소결체의 고온 변형에 따른 미세조직 연구 (Microstructural Evolution during Hot Deformation of P/M Copper using Processing Map)

  • P/M coppers are subjected to the isothermal compression tests at the strain rate ranging from 0.01 to 10.0 $s^{-1}$ and the temperature from 200 to $800^{\circ}C$. The processing map reveals the dynamic recrystallization (DRX) domain in the following temperature and strain rate ranges: $600-800^{\circ}C$ and 0.01-10.0 $s^{-1}$, respectively. In the domain, the region at temperature of $600^{\circ}C$ and strain rate of $10^{-2}s^{-1}$ shows peak efficiency. From the kinetic analysis, the apparent activation energy in the DRX domain is 190.67 kJ/mol and it suggests that lattice self-diffusion is the rate controlling mechanism.

국내 간호학에서 성(sexuality)에 관한 연구 경향 (Trends in Nursing Research on Sexuality in Korea)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to analyze the trends in nursing research on sexuality in Korea and to provide guidance to the future research in sexual health. Method: Total 163 published articles in Korea from 2000 to 2007 year were reviewed using a structured analysis form which consists of the domains of nursing journal, research designs, research purpose, research subjects, and the key words. Result: Of those articles, 25.8% was published in J. of Korean Academy of Women Health Nursing and 13.5% in J. of Korean Academy of Community Health Nursing. In terms of the research design, quantitative research methods were commonly used in 88.4% of them which only 6.1% used qualitative methods. The nursing process on purpose were classified assessment(86.3%), nursing intervention(11.3%), and nursing evaluation(2.5%); Most of subjects were early adults(35.3%), adolescents(27.9%), and adults(25.6%); The most frequently reported key words were classified into socio-psychological domain(33.5%), cognitive domain(25.6%), clinical domain(12.6%). Conclusion: Research on sexuality in nursing have been continued. The major key words were founded in socio-psychological and cognitive domains. It is recommended that more various subjects, research methodology, and various key words be investigated.

  • In the first paper of this research$^{(1)}$. a new time series method. directional ARMAX (dARMAX) model-based approach. was proposed for rotordynamics identification. The dARMAX processes complex-valued signals, utilizing the complex modal testing theory which enables the separation of the backward and forward modes in the two-sided frequency domain and makes effective modal parameter identification possible. to account for the dynamic characteristics inherent in rotating machinery. In this second part. an evaluation of its performance characteristics based on both simulated and experimental data is presented. Numerical simulations are carried out to show that the method. a complex time series method. successfully implements the complex modal testing in the time domain. and it is superior in nature to the conventional ARMAX and the frequency-domain methods in the estimation of the modal parameters for isotropic and weakly anisotropic rotor systems. Experiments are carried out to demonstrate the applicability and the effectiveness of the dARMAX model-based approach, following the proposed fitting strategy. for the rotordynamics identification.

Exceedance probability as a tool to evaluate the wind environment of urban areas

  • The present study aims to estimate the wind ventilation performance for pedestrian level domains from the air quality point of view. Three typical models of a dense urban area were considered and numerically simulated in order to examine the effects of the geometry of such models on wind flow characteristics, which in turn affect the air quality, within the pedestrian domain of a street canyon located within this area. The calculated flow fields were employed to estimate the exceedance probabilities within the study domain using a new approach: air exchange rate within the domain. The study has been applied to nine cities in Japan: Tokyo, Osaka, Sapporo, Niigata, Fukuoka, Nagoya, Sendai, Yokohama, and Kyoto, based on their mean wind velocity data. The results demonstrated that the exceedance probability analysis of the pedestrian wind environment could be a valuable tool during the design stage of inhabited areas for the evaluation of pollutant-removal efficiency by the applied wind. Also, the calculated probabilities demonstrated substantial dependence on both the geometry of building arrays and the wind conditions of the nine cities.

광 버스트 스위칭 네트워크와 파장 라우팅 네트워크의 성능 비교 (A Performance Evaluation on Optical Burst Switched Networks and Wavelength Routed Networks)

  • 광 네트워크의 형태가 IP over WDM의 형태로 발전해 나아감에 따라 이러한 광 도메인 내에서의 스위칭 또한 다양한 방법들이 제안되고 있다. 그 중 현재 그리고 가까운 장래에 촉망되는 방법으로 파장 라우팅 (Wavelength Routing: WR) 방식과 광 버스트 스위칭 (Optical Burst Switching: OBS) 방식이 활발히 연구되어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 두 스위칭 방식을 적용시킨 파장 라우팅 네트워크와 광 버스트 스위칭 네트워크의 성능을 평가 비교해보고, 광 버스트 스위칭 네트워크가 파장 라우팅 네트워크에 비하여 우수한 성능을 보일 수 있는 조건들을 도출하였다. 또한, 이러한 결과들을 바탕으로 IP over WDM 네트워크에서 광 버스트 스위칭이 효율적으로 우수하다는 것을 입증하였다.

TD-CFIE Formulation for Transient Electromagnetic Scattering from 3-D Dielectric Objects

  • In this paper, we present a time domain combined field integral equation formulation (TD-CFIE) to analyze the transient electromagnetic response from dielectric objects. The solution method is based on the method of moments which involves separate spatial and temporal testing procedures. A set of the RWG functions is used for spatial expansion of the equivalent electric and magnetic current densities, and a combination of RWG and its orthogonal component is used for spatial testing. The time domain unknowns are approximated by a set of orthonormal basis functions derived from the Laguerre polynomials. These basis functions are also used for temporal testing. Use of this temporal expansion function characterizing the time variable makes it possible to handle the time derivative terms in the integral equation and decouples the space-time continuum in an analytic fashion. Numerical results computed by the proposed formulation are compared with the solutions of the frequency domain combined field integral equation.

  • 대형 건축물의 진동과 같은 초저주파 진동특성의 해석을 수행하기 위해서는 측정대상 및 측정조건, 그리고 목적으로 하는 측정요소에 적합한 측정시스템이 구축되어야 하며, 구축된 측정시스템으로부터 얻어진 극히 제한된 유한량의 데이터로부터 목적하는 특성요소를 추출하기 위한 정밀한 데이터분석기술이 요구된다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 고신뢰성을 저주파진동 특성의 분석을 위한 효과적인 데이터처리기법의 개발을 목표로, 측정조건에 따른 저주파진동 해석의 문제점을 분석하고, FFT법과 MEM법의 저주파응답 특성을 비교하였으며, 비교결과를 토대로 저주파진동 해석에 적합한 알고리즘을 결정하였다. 또한, 결정된 분석 알고리즘의 성능을 명확히 하여 정밀분석을 위한 측정데이터의 최적조건을 제시하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 H.263 부호기에서 적정 화질과 일정한 전송율을 유지하는 양자화 변수 추정을 위한 퍼지 제어기를 제안하였다. 퍼지화 방법으로는 Mamdani 방법을 이용하며, 역퍼지화는 무게중심법을 이용하였다. 움직임 벡터에 따른 시간적 특성을 추정할 때 공간영역에서 분산과 엔트로피는 시각적 특성과 상관관계가 있다. 따라서 퍼지 입력변수로 영상의 분산값, 엔트로피 및 움직임 벡터를 이용하였다. 퍼지 소속함수를 유도하고, 시각적 특성에 적합한 퍼지감도를 결정하였으며, FAM 뱅크를 설계하였다. 실제 동영상 압축에 퍼지 규칙을 적용하였으며, 퍼지 양자화를 이용하여 효율적인 율제어와 최적의 비트할당 및 주관적 화질 특성이 유지되는 결과를 얻었다.

  • 내진 평가에서 동적 해석이 필요한 원심펌프에 대하여, 시간 이력 해석에 비해 간편한 스펙트럼 해석을 이용하여, 진동 응답을 산출하였다. 유한요소법에 의하여 모드 해석을 하였으며, 모드 해석 결과에 입각하여 스펙트럼 해석을 수행하였다. 스펙트럼 해석에 의해 구해진 진동 응답은 시간 이력 해석의 결과보다 보수적으로 산출되어 안전하게 설계할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구에서의 펌프는 IEEE 344-1987에서 요구되는 조건에 따라 내진 구조 건전성이 평가 되었다. 각 부재의 최대 응력은 허용 응력이하로 산출되었으며, 펌프는 주어진 지진 입력에 대하여 요구되는 안전 조건을 구비하고 있음이 판명되었다.
