Anodizing film was prepared by anodic oxidation of pure aluminum(purity > 99.50) using DC power supply for constant current mode in an electrolytic solution of surface of sulfuric acid. Effects of pre-treatment process such as chemical polishing, acid cleaning, alkali etching before anodic oxidation, were studied to microstructures and surface morphologies. A roughness on surface of anodizing film had to be decreased for amorphous phase by anodic oxidation. A roughness on surface of anodizing film decrease as annealing temperature increased in chemical polishing.

An aluminum doped zinc oxide (AZO) film for front contacts of thin film solar cells, in this work, were deposited by r.f. magnetron sputtering, and then etched in diluted hydrochloric acid solution for different times. Effects of surface texturing on the electro-optical properties of AZO films were investigated. Also, to clarify the light trapping of textured AZO film, amorphous silicon thin film solar cells were fabricated on the textured AZO/glass substrate and the performance of solar cells were studied. After texturing, the spectral haze at the visible range of 400 ~750 nm increased substantially with the etching time, without a change in the resistivity. The conversion efficiency of amorphous Si solar cells with textured AZO film as a front electrode was improved by the increase of short-circuit current density ($J_{sc}$), compared to cell with flat AZO films.
We investigate anisotropic texturing method for crystalline silicon solar cells with sodium carbonate solutions. Texturing temperature have a large effect on the density of pyramid. The dependence of the surface reflectance on solution temperature and the etching time was investigated. The surface morphology was observed by scanning electron microscope and the surface reflectance was evaluated. The reflection from the silicon surface in the wavelength range 400 to 1000nm is reduced to about 12%.
A light-emitting silicon material was prepared by electrochemical etching of n-Si single crystal wafers in a solution of hydrofluoric acid and ethanol. Visible photoluminescence from the silicon was inhomogeneous and decayed rapidly in the ambient laboratory conditions or with photoirradiation. Substantial improvements in photoluminescence which include little-dependent luminescence peak energy with excitation energy variation and longer-lasting room temperature visible photoluminescence were achieved when the surface of photoluminescent silicon material was derivatized with the surface modifier of octadecylmercaptan. Surface modification of the photoluminescent silicon was evidenced by the measurements of contact angles of static water drops, FT-IR spectra and XPS data, in addition to changed photoluminescence. Similar improvements in photoluminescence were observed with the light-emitting silicon treated with dodecylmercaptan, but not with octadecane. The present results indicate that sulfurs of octadecylmercaptans or dodecylmercaptans appear to coordinate the surface Si atoms of LESi and perturb the surface states to significantly change the luminescent characteristics of LESi.
Free-standing multilayer distributed Bragg reflectors (DBR) porous silicon dielectric mirrors, prepared by electrochemical etching of crystalline silicon using square wave currents are treated with polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) to produce flexible, stable composite materials in which the porous silicon matrix is covered with caffeine-impregnated PMMA. Optically encoded free-standing DBR PSi dielectric mirrors retain the optical reflectivity. Optical characteristics of free-standing DBR PSi dielectric mirrors are stable and robust for 24 hrs in a pH 12 aqueous buffer solution. The appearance of caffeine and change of DBR peak were simultaneously measured by UV-vis spectrometer and Ocean optics 2000 spectrometer, respectively.
Various types of smart dust based on photonic crystal exhibiting unique reflectivity were successfully obtained by an electrochemical etching of silicon wafer using square wave currents. Smart dust containing Bragg structure obtained from the sonication of DBR porous silicon film in solution retained its optical reflectivity. Field emission scanning electron micrograph (FE-SEM) was used to measure the size of optically encoded smart dust and its size can be tuned from few hundred nanometers to few microns depending on the duration of sonication. Optical characteristics of smart dust were used to investigate a possible applications such as chemical sensors.
Established microleakage tests have their own disadvantages. In this study, 3D reconstruction method was tried to overcome these disadvantages. Four types of microleakage tests were used and relationships among them were estimated: penetrated dye volume: marginal adaptability: degree of dye penetration and relative penetrated length to cavity wall. Twenty-four Class V cavities were bulk filled with composite (Esthet X) following surface treatments: N group (no treatment): E group (etching only): T group (etching + Prime & Bond NT). 50% silver nitrate was used as a dye solution after thermocycling ($5^{\circ}C{\;}&{\;}55^{\circ}C$, 1.000 times). Teeth were serially ground with a thickness of 0.2 mm. Volume of dye penetration was estimated from a three-dimensionally reconstructed image with a software (3D-DOCTOR). Percentage of margin without gap was estimated from SEM and degree of dye penetration and the relative length of dye penetration to overall cavity wall were also estimated. ANOVA and Scheffe test for dye volume, Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney test for marginal quality, Spearman's rho test for checking of relationships among methods were used. The results were as follows: 1. Dye penetration could be seen from several directions, furthermore, its volumetric estimation was possible. 2. Reverse relationship was found between dye volume and marginal quality (r = -0.881/ p = 0.004). 3. Very low relationship was seen between dye volume and two-dimensional tests (degree of dye penetration and relative length). However, 2D evaluation methods showed high relationship (p = 0.002-0.054) each other. 4. Three times vertical section could be recommended as a 2D test.

System In Package (SiP) is getting popular and momentum for the recent wearable, IoT and connectivity application apart from mobile phone. This is driven by market demands of cost competitive, lighter and smaller/thinner and higher performance. As one of many semiconducting assembly products, Leadframe product has been widely used for low cost solution, light/ small and thin form factor. But It has not been applied for SiP although Leadframe product has many advantages in cost, size and reliability performance. SiP is mostly based on laminate substrate and technically difficult on Leadframe substrate because of a limitation in SMT performance. In this paper, Leadframe based SiP product has been evaluated about key technical challenges in SMT performance and electrical shield technology. Mostly Leadframe is considered not available to apply EMI shield because of tie-bar around package edge. In order to overcome two major challenges, connection bars were deployed properly for SMT pad to pad and additional back-side etching was implemented after molding process to achieve electrical isolation from outer shield coating. This product was confirmed assembly workability as well as reliability.
This study aimed to evaluate the marginal microleakage of Class V cavities of All-bond 2 (Wet - bonding system), Gluma (Adhesion of resin to exposed collagen fibers), and Scotchbond Multi-purpose(Mild Etching System). Hundred extracted human teeth divided into a control and three experimental groups consisting of eight teeth. The experimental group was further subdivided into All- bond2, Gluma and Scotchbond MP groups, Vitrebond served as the control. The positive control group consisted of specimens filled with resin and with no etching, primer and bonding procesure. Polished specimens underwent temperature changed from $5^{\circ}C$ to $55^{\circ}C$ a thousand times. After thermocycling, speciemens were placed in 2 % methylene blue dye solution for 24 hours in an incubator set at $37^{\circ}C$. The teeth were sectioned buccolingually and the degree of dye penetration was observed with a stereomicroscoped(*20). The following results were obtained. 1. Both the control and the experimental group showed a lower degree of dye penetration on enamel than on dentin margins(p<0.05) 2. Gluma exhibited a statistically significant lower degree of dye penetration than All-bond 2 on enamel margins(p<0.05) Scotchbond MP also exhibited a lower degree of dye penetration than All-bone 2 but was no statistically significant. Gluma and Scotchbond MP exhibited a similar degree of dye penetration. 3. The degree of dye penetration of All-bond 2, Gluma and Scotch bond MP showed no statistically singnificance on enamel margins but was significantly lower than in the control using Vitrebond. 4. All-bond 2 exhibited a statistically significant lower degree of dye penetration than Gluma on dentin margins. All- bond 2 and Scotchbond MP showed a similar degree of dye penetration. 5. The degree of dye penetration of All-bond 2, Gluma and Scotchbond MP showed no statistically significance on dentin margins. There was neither a statistical significance with the control.
