In design PV(photovoltaic) system, there are many important factors to consider for best site selection. It is essential to understand to know the amount of sunlight available and how to minimize the shadings. This study presents basic concepts for understanding sun's position and insolation. also gives easy tools for topography analysis. Finally, this study shows some theoretical calculations of power generation losses and disadvantages in economic feasibility.

The purpose of this study was identifying the essential concept of home of middle class and aged housewives by using a critical incident methodology. All 30 subjects participated in structured interviews designed to elicit statements describing the attributes of home and non-home environment. The qualities of comfort, place-attachment, self-expression, fundamental values and personal identity, social relationships, economic value, and a suitable physical structure were associated with home environments, and were absent in residences which were not regarded as homes.

The concepts of flexible displays and plastic electronics have become some of the most talked about new product opportunities for direct view flat panel displays in recent years. The potential advantages are frequently cited, but the achievement of commercially viable products will require many significant technological innovations in new materials and manufacturing technology. This paper will provide a very broad overview of the rationale for developing flexible displays, the market drivers, the applicable display technologies, the major hurdles that must be overcome and the required evolution of new manufacturing technologies that are essential for successful commercialization. This is intended to provide the outline and context for the series of presentations on specific aspects in each of these topics that will be delivered and discussed at the Plastic Electronics Special Session of the 2005 IMID conference.

A system reliability method is proposed to decide reliable serviceability of agricultural irrigation system. Even though reliability method is applied to real engineering situations involving actual life environments and maintaining costs, a number of Issues arise as a modeling and analysis level. This article use concepts that can be described the probability of failure with time variant and series-parallel system reliability analysis model. A proposed method use survivor function that can simulate a time-variant performance function for a lifetime before it is required essential maintenance or replacement to define a target probability of failure in agricultural irrigation canal. In the further study, it is required a relationship between a state of probability of failure and current serviceability to make the optimum repair strategy to maintain appropriate serviceability of an irrigation system.

To achieve rapid developments and cost savings in manufacturing industries including automotive die shops, new paradigm and its supporting systems of information managements through total product life cycle are needed for concurrent and collaborative engineering. For manufacturing of automotive press dies, integrated and efficient managements of PPR information including product, manufacturing process and resource are essential. In this paper, we introduce a PLM approach to achieve engineering collaborations in product development and production of automotive dies. To prove concepts and benefits of PPR information managements, we implement new business workflow and detail procedures, PPR information management system and other related applications. By PPR information managements in PLM, improvements in quality of engineering results and savings in time from design to production of dies are possible.

Fiber-reinforced materials have highly favorable mechanical properties. and their strength-to-weight ratios are superior to those of most alloys. This study qualitatively investigates the nature of the challenges that a student who is highly successful in mathematics faces in learning college-level elementary statistics. The study draws on the constructs of eagerness, flexibility and willingness to characterize the necessary disposition for critical thinking that is essential in learning statistics. The case study is based on data collected through a survey assessment and a follow-up interview with a mathematics major enrolled in an elementary college statistics course at the time of the study. The qualitative analysis relies on the student's verbal descriptions of the challenges he was experiencing in the course. The findings suggest that while his strong inclination towards inquisitive learning and strong understanding of mathematical concepts supported this student's mathematics learning, the same characteristics might have been causing him difficulties in learning college-level elementary statistics.

E-commerce and business information systems are being introduced in most of enterprises with the development of internet recently. Meanwhile the introduction of enterprise portal concepts and the enterprise informatization provide a necessary premise for insuring a competitive power. Therefore, it became necessary to research on the project of reusing the data of e-commerce. In this paper, we make a domestic maker the subject and implement a XML based electronic catalog(e-catalog) system for electronic commerce(e-commerce) based on web. The implemented XML based e-catalog system can reduce time and expenses needed for making, keeping and distribution in paper catalog systems. It also can correct the data reuse problems in the e-catalog systems implemented by HTML. Exchanging and reusing data used in e-commerce is essential to the integration between business information systems and points to the enterprise portal.

This lecture introduces new press, adapter and control concepts to size multi-level sintered components. The essential thing here is that the advantages of the multi-plate technology have been applied to the sizing adapter concept. Thus, the new concept meets the demands for a modern P/M manufacture and offers sufficient potential to size any future, complex sintered components such as synchronizer hubs, oil pump wheels and VCT parts with highest precision. Furthermore, it outlines a new flexible concept for the parts transfer, including feeding, orientation and lubrication while responding to the high demands on process stability and short change-over times.

Community action is an essential component for health promotion. Through effective community action, a community can gain control over its health & health determinants, and improve the quality of its life. The Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion (WHO, 1984)stated that a health promotion program that stimulates and strengthens community health activity is one of the five main action areas in the field of health promotion. This paper reviews the meaning and key concept of community health promotion action, and discusses ways to strengthen community action as defined by the Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion. It discusses the principle of community participation for health promotion, and, taking a successful example of a community-based health promotion program, it provides an illustrative example of how to build partnerships and coalitions in a community. Community development theories for community-based approaches are also introduced, along with their key concepts. Finally, the paper assesses the barriers to effective community health promotion action in Korea, and proposes several strategies for strengthening community action for health promotion.
