  • In this Paper, we discuss the PEEC method and construct the PEEC equivalent circuit of the test structure and construct the system matrix, which was simulated by numerical analysis. And we got node voltages and currents. Constructing the equivalent circuit, we extracted the parasitic parameter(R, L, C)using the simulator, which is based on finite element method, hence we could simulate the transient analysis.

  • IDDQ testing is indispensable in improving Duality and reliability of CMOS VLSI circuits. But the major problem of IDDQ testing is slow testing speed due to time-consuming IDDQ current measurement. So one requirement is to reduce the number of target faults or to make the test sets compact in fault model. In this paper, we consider equivalent fault collapsing for transistor short faults, a fault model often used in IDDQ testing and propose an efficient algorithm for reducing the number of faults that need to be considered by equivalent fault collapsing. Experimental results for ISCAS benchmark circuits show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • An equivalent drawbead model(EDM) for sheet metal forming analysis, which replaces complex drawbead geometries with drawbead forces in modeling the stamping dies with finite elements, is experimentally verified and applied to the numerical simulation of auto-panel stamping process. The drawbead restraining and opening forces of elliptical drawbead, circular drawbead, square drawbead, and step drawbead are obtained by performing the drawbead pulling test and compared with those of EDM and commercial code models(CCM). Better agreement with experimental measurements is found in EDM than CCM. Furthermore, the excellence of EDM is demonstrated in its application to the auto-body stamping analysis.

  • The critical speeds and mode shapes are most important to determine the behaviors of rotor in designing rotating machinery. As the capacity and span of turbine-generator increases, the turbine-generator system is composed of many components such as bearings, pedestal, turbine and hood and so on. Also, it is getting flexible and has many critical speeds. Especially, as the characteristics of bearing-pedestal are very complicated, they affect the entire vibration characteristics of turbine-generator system. In this paper, it is observed how to determine the equivalent dynamic stiffness of bearing-pedestal by analytical and experimental method.

  • Many studies for the perforated plates have been done, especially on the subject of static behavior and stress distribution in the plate. Equivalent elastic properties are one of the successive concepts for this problem. However little effort was taken to get their dynamic characteristics. In this paper finite element modal analysis was performed for the perforated plates having square and triangular hole patterns. An attempt to use existing equivalent elastic properties into the modal analysis of the plate was carried out. To verify feasibility of the finite element models, modal test was also performed on one typical perforated plate. System parameters such as natural frequencies and mode shapes were extracted and compared with the analysis results.

  • In this paper, we have revisited the estimation of the rotational stiffness of sidewall of radial tire and have suggested a new method for evaluation of the rotational stiffness. Since thicknesses, and volume fractions of the constituents of sidewall are varied depending on radial position, the equivalent shear modulus of the sidewall also depends on radial position. For the estimation of rotational stiffness of sidewall's rubber, we have divided its cross-section into sufficient numbers of small parts and have calculated the equivalent shear modulus of each part of sidewall. Using the shear moduli of divided parts, we have obtained the rotational stiffness by employing in-plane shear deformation theory. This method is expected to be a useful tool in tire design since it relates such basic variables to the global stillness of tire. Applying the calculation method to a radial tire of P205/60R15, we have compared its rotational stiffness with experimental one.

  • To research the refractive error of the eyes on the 30's employees, 510 eyes were tested by the object and subject methods. The results were as follows. 1. Among the 510 eyes, myopia is 74.4%, hyperopia is 0.9% and emmetropia is 24.7%, respectively. 2. In test, the low myopia (-0.50Dt < Spherical Equivalent ${\leq}$ -2.00Dt) is 24.1%, the middle myopia(-2.00Dt < Spherical Equivalent ${\leq}$ -6.00Dt) is 51.4%, the high myopia(-6.00Dt < Spherical Equivalent) is 14.8% and the low hyperopia(+0.50Dt < Spherical Equivalent ${\leq}$ +2.00Dt) is 1.2%, respectively. 3. In test of astigmatism, the amount of astigmatism with-the rule is 58.5%, the amount of astigmatism against-the rule is 22.6% and the amount of astigmatism with oblique is 18.9%, respectively.

  • This study present the stressdistribution of circular column-box beam connection in steel piers. Experiments were carried out for hollow and concrete filled connections, depending on the joint angle. To determine vertical and shear stress distribution, this study examined the equivalent web depth dc' that is mainly used in existing design equation. Lidewise, as additional equivalent web depth was introduced. Stress values that were calculated using equivalent wev depth were also compared with the test stress value. Results showed that stresses of hollow and filled connections have great differences. However, dc' has a limitation for some joint angles. Likewise, stress of filled connection was less than that of the hollow connection. The test value of filled connection was also compared with design equations that were introduced from the hollow connection.

  • Purpose: To determine the proper reference step wedge for digital Cu-Equivalent Image analyzing systems for measurement of bone density. Meterials and Methods : Radiograms of lumbar vertebrae phantom (1g/㎠) with 3 test copper step wedges of 0.03, 0.05 and, 0.1 mm thickness unit were taken and analyzed using NIH image software on a Macintosh personal computer. Measured densities of the lumbar areas in the Cu-Equivalent images made by utilizing 3 different copper stepwedges were compared with a known bone density. Results: The values of r2 for all copper equivalent images were over 0.99. The mean Cu-Eq value of lumbar in copper equivalent image made by a 0.1 mm copper stepwedge was 0.22 ± 0.06 mm and converted to hydroxyapatite density of 1.03 g/㎠. The stepwedges of 0.03 and 0.05 mm produced results having higher values than the actual known bone density. They did not show the blue and green color level that appeared in lumbar on color enhanced image. Conclusion : A copper stepwedge of adequate thickness and range of steps which can express the range of density of bone being measured should be used.
