마이크로 터빈 연소기 주연소영역의 저 NOx 생성 특성 (The Low NOx Characteristics of the Primary Zone in Micro Turbine Combustor)

  • The low NOx characteristics have been investigated to develop the combustor for micro turbine. The lean premixed combustion technology was applied to reduce the NOx emission. The test was conducted at the condition of high temperature and ambient pressure. The combustion air which has the temperature of $450\sim650K$ were supplied to the combustor through the air preheater. The temperature and emissions of NOx and CO were measured at the exit of combustor, The exit temperature and NOx were increased and CO was decreased with increasing inlet air temperature. The premixing chamber can be operated very lean condition of equivalence ratio around 0.35. The NOx was decreased with decreasing the equivalence ratio. The CO was decreased with decreasing the equivalence ratio, but the CO was increased with decreasing the equivalence ratio below 0.4. But, at the very lean condition of equivalence ratio below 0.35 both NOx and CO were increased because of the flame unstability. The NOx was decreased and CO was increased with increasing inlet air flowrate. This results can be used to determine the size of combustor. Consequently the performance of combustor shows the possibility of the application to the gas turbine system.

  • To implement carbon-neutrality in transportation sectors until 2050, hydrogen is considered a promising fuel for internal combustion engines because hydrogen does not contain carbon itself. Although hydrogen does not emit CO2 emission from its combustion process, the low energy density in a volume unit hinders the adoption of hydrogen. Therefore, the understanding of hydrogen jet behavior and measurement of equivalence ratio must be conducted to completely implement the high-pressure hydrogen direct injection. The main objective of this research is feasibility test of hydrogen local equivalence ratio measurement by laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBs). To visualize the macroscopic structure of hydrogen jet, high-speed schlieren imaging was conducted. Moreover, LIBs has been adopted to validate the feasibility of hydrogen local equivalence ratio measurement. The hydrogen injection pressure was varied from 4 MPa to 8 MPa and injected in a constant volume chamber where the ambient pressure was 0.5 MPa. The increased injection pressure extends the vertical penetration of hydrogen jet. Due to the higher momentum supply when the injection pressure is high, the hydrogen has easily diffused in all directions. As the laser trigger timing has delayed, the low hydrogen atomic emission was detected due to the longer mixture formation time. Based on equivalence ratio measurement results, LIBs could be applied as a methodology for hydrogen local equivalence ratio measurement.

QbD6시그마 프로세스를 통한 D-항원 정량 시험법의 유효성과 동등성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Efficacy and Equivalence of D-antigen Quantitative Analysis through QbD6sigma Process)

  • Purpose: This study carried out the Quality by Design (QbD)6σ process to verify the effectiveness and equivalence of the finished D-antigen quantitative test method, and compared the OFAT-based method validation and test result acceptance criteria with the Analytical Quality by Design (AQbD)-based method validation and test method. This is a study on how to reduce the risk of delay in permit change by increasing the reliability of permit data in the existing method by statistically analyzing the results. Methods: With the QbD6σ process, the effectiveness and equivalence of the D-antigen quantitative test method were verified with the data of the existing test method and the new test method. Results: Method validation tests are performed based on AQbD. Critical Method Parameters are identified through risk assessment, and single/combined actions are verified by designing and performing tests for Critical Method Parameters (analysis of variance, full factorial design method). Method validation can be effectively accomplished with the QbD6σ process. Conclusion: The use of QbD6σ can be used to achieve satisfactory results for both pharmaceutical companies and regulators by using appropriate statistical analytical methods for method validation as required by regulatory agencies.

운전조건 변화가 HCNG 엔진용 삼원촉매 전환효율에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Operating Condition Change on the Conversion Efficiency of TWC with HCNG Engine)

  • 이론공연비방식 엔진은 삼원촉매를 이용하여 유해배기가스를 매우 효과적으로 저감시킬 수 있는 장점을 가지고 있다. 삼원촉매는 높은 정화효율을 보이는 공연비범위가 좁기 때문에 엔진에서의 공연비 제어가 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 삼원촉매 성능을 평가하기 위하여 다양한 운전영역에서 삼원촉매의 전환효율을 비교 분석하였다. 최적의 전환효율을 보이는 당량비를 확인하기 위하여 당량비 제어값 변화에 의한 전환효율을 살펴보았다. 실험결과 당량비 제어를 통하여 각 운전조건에서 NMHC, CH4, CO 및 NOx의 전환효율이 95%이상 나타내는 최적 운전조건을 찾을 수 있었다. 동등한 배기가스 온도 조건에서는 출력이 증가할수록 최적당량비가 선형적으로 증가하는 경향을 보였다.

동등성 시험을 신뢰구간을 사용하여 검정하는 경우 왜 신뢰도 90%인 신뢰구간을 사용하는가? (Why is 90% Confidence Interval Used When Confidence Interval Approach is Used for Testing Equivalence?)

  • 임상시험의 자료에 대하여 통계적 검정을 실시하는 경우 유의수준 5%를 사용하는 것이 관례이다. 하지만 동등성 시험을 신뢰구간을 사용하여 검정하는 경우, 신뢰도 90%인 신뢰구간이 사용되고 있다. 흔히 신뢰도 $1-{\alpha}$인 신뢰구간을 검정에 사용하는 경우, 그 검정법의 유의수준은 ${\alpha}$이다. 이 때문에 동등성 검정에서 신뢰도 90%인 신뢰구간을 사용하게 되면, 유의수준은 10%가 되는 것이 아닌가 하는 혼란을 일으켰다. 본 논문에서는 이와 관련된 이슈들을 관련 문헌의 검토와 시뮬레이션을 통하여 명확하게 하여, 제약회사, CRO, 대학병원 등에 종사하는 통계전문가들에게 도움을 주고자 한다.

한약제제 백출(白朮)과 한약재 백출에 대한 HPLC 분석 비교연구 (A Comparative Study on the Herbal Prescription and the Herbal Substance of Atractylodis Rhizoma Alba by HPLC analysis)

  • Objectives : To verify the equivalence between Atractylodis Rhizoma Alba herbal prescription(HP-ARA) and Atractylodis Rhizoma Alba herbal sub stance(HS-ARA). Methods : Safety tests by microbial regulation and heavy metal analysis (total heavy metal, Pb, As) and a stability test by long term shelf test for HP-ARA according to notification of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety were carried out. Then, multi component profile of HP-ARA and HS -ARA were analyzed by HPLC. Results : The safety and stability of HP-ARA confirmed by several tests. Correlation coefficient of equivalence of HP-ARA and ARA-HS showed 0.992. Conclusion : Based on this result of equivalence between HP-ARA and HS-ARA, HP-ARA can substitute HS-ARA used to make herbal medicines (herbal decoction, pills and powder).

ANALYSIS OF IN-CYLINDER FUEL-AIR MIXTURE DISTRIBUTION IN A HEAVY DUTY CNG ENGINE

  • Distribution of fuel-air mixture has a strong influence on performance and emissions of a compressed natural gas (CNG) engine. In this paper, parametric study is performed by KIVA-3V to investigate fuel-air mixture with respect to injection timing, cycle equivalence ratio and engine speed. With open-valve injection intensive mixing during intake and compression stroke results in relatively homogeneous mixture in the cylinder. Sequential induction of fuel-air mixture and fresh air results in stratification in the cylinder among the test cases at closed-valve injection. There is close similarity in the calculated distributions of the mixture in the cylinder with different cycle equivalence ratios and engine speeds. The results are compared against pressure traces and flame images obtained in a single cylinder engine converted from a 11L six-cylinder heavy duty diesel engine.

  • Thermal performance of test cell of model hot water Ondol house was simulated by equivalence heat resistence and heat capacity method. In this method wall was replaced by two equivalence and one heat capacity. This method enables to simulate the variation of temperature of each element of model house. The effect of pipe diameter, pitch of pipe and with or without consideration of inter-radiation between wall surfaces on the energy consumption rate were investgated. Results show that radiations between the ground surface of room and wall surfaces contribute to the heating of room air by reducing the convection heat loss through the wall surfaces.

A Study on Verification of Equivalence and Effectiveness of Non-Pharmacologic Dementia Prevention and Early Detection Contents : Non-Randomly Equivalent Design

  • Objective : The aim of this study was to verify the equivalence and effectiveness of the tablet-administered Korean Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of Neuropsychological Status (K-RBANS) for the prevention and early detection of dementia. Methods : Data from 88 psychiatry and neurology patient samples were examined to evaluate the equivalence between tablet and paper administrations of the K-RBANS using a non-randomly equivalent group design. We calculated the prediction scores of the tablet-administered K-RBANS based on demographics and covariate-test scores for focal tests using norm samples and tested format effects. In addition, we compared the receiver operating characteristic curves to confirm the effectiveness of the K-RBANS for preventing and detecting dementia. Results : In the analysis of raw scores, line orientation showed a significant difference (t=-2.94, p<0.001), and subtests showed small to large effect sizes (0.04-0.86) between paper- and tablet-administered K-RBANS. To investigate the format effect, we compared the predicted scaled scores of the tablet sample to the scaled scores of the norm sample. Consequently, a small effect size (d≤0.20) was observed in most of the subtests, except word list and story recall, which showed a medium effect size (d=0.21), while picture naming and subtests of delayed memory showed significant differences in the one-sample t-test. In addition, the area under the curve of the total scale index (TSI) (0.827; 95% confidence interval, 0.738-0.916) was higher than that of the five indices, ranging from 0.688 to 0.820. The sensitivity and specificity of TSI were 80% and 76%, respectively. Conclusion : The overall results of this study suggest that the tablet-administered K-RBANS showed significant equivalence to the norm sample, although some subtests showed format effects, and it may be used as a valid tool for the brief screening of patients with neuropsychological disorders in Korea.

Also, the conventional combustor was designed and tested for the baseline of low $NO_{x}$ combustor performance. The test was conducted at the condition of high temperature and ambient pressure. The combustion air which has the temperature of 500K were supplied to the combustor through the air preheater. The temperature and emissions of $NO_{x}$ and CO were measured at the exit of combustor. The premixing chamber can be operated very lean condition of equivalence ratio around 0.35. The $NO_{x}$ was decreased with decreasing the equivalence ration. The CO was decreased with decreasing the equivalence ratio, but the CO was increased with decreasing the equivalence ratio below 0.45. But, at the very lean condition of equivalence ratio below 0.35 both NOx and CO were increased because of the flame unstability. The $NO_{x}$ was decreased slightly and CO was increased with increasing inlet air flowrate. This results can be used to determine the size of combustor. The low $NO_{x}$ combustor has lower values of $NO_{x}$ and CO compared with conventional one. Consequently the performance of combustor shows the possibility of the application to the gas turbine system.
