Benefits and Concerns of the Sharing Economy: Economic Analysis and Policy Implications

  • This paper economically analyzes the benefits and concerns of the sharing economy and derives policy implications that could help to achieve the expected benefits and respond appropriately to any concerns. Primary benefits anticipated from the sharing economy are the creation of new transactions and promotional and market testing opportunities, and the main concerns include the crowding out of existing transactions as well as transaction and social risks. How these benefits and concerns are being realized in Korea is empirically examined by conducting a survey on participation experiences with the sharing economy. The sharing economy is expected to contribute to the enhancement of social welfare with its wide range of benefits if risk factors can be properly controlled. Accordingly, an institutional framework is needed to support the stable growth of the sharing economy, and the unique characteristics of non-professional, peer-to-peer transactions should be reflected in tandem with regulatory equity between existing and sharing economy suppliers. To do this, transaction-volume-based regulations are recommended. Furthermore, to secure regulatory effectiveness and to alleviate transaction risks, the pertinent obligations must be imposed on sharing platforms.

  • Added value of music industry in Korea is not distributed and calculated properly, and this obstacle brings various problems in a creative environment. Meanwhile, a new business model such as Open Collaboration, Crowdsourcing and platform that makes decisions and innovation from external resources has been appeared in commercial area. This new model like a composer delivers to consumers directly through Youtube.com, and multi collaboration is applied to the music industry, and it enables a new type of mechanism for creation, distribution, division, and calculation of music. However there are not enough empirical study of the music market because existing relative researches has been centered around fundamental concepts and application methodologies. This research defines Open Collaboration Platform in the music industry, and studies affecting factors of Participation Intention for example Justice, Information System Quality and Perceived Value. For a survey we apply PLS(Partial Least Square) to analyse Equity, Information System Quality and structural equation between Perceived Value and Participation Intention. Analysis results show Distributive Justice and Procedural Justice affects Platform Trust, and Service Quality, Economical Value and Emotional Value affects Platform Usefulness. Also Platform Trust and Platform Usefulness affects Platform Participation Intention. We discussed academic and practical implication based on research results.

전통문화축제 스토리텔링의 선택속성이 브랜드자산, 브랜드태도, 브랜드애호도와의 구조적 관계 (The Structural Relationship between Selection Attributes of Traditional Culture Festival Storytelling, Brand Equity, Brand Attitude, and Brand Loyalty)

  • '천년의 기다림 세계인의 어울림! 인류무형문화유산인 2017 강릉단오제'는 우리나라에서 가장 역사가 깊은 축제이다. 하지만 역사적인 가치에도 불구하고 축제 브랜드자산 가치에 대한 학술적인 연구는 미흡한 편이다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 축제 스토리텔링의 선택속성을 통한 축제의 브랜드자산, 브랜드태도, 브랜드애호도간의 영향관계를 구조방정식 모형을 통해 실증분석 하였다. 논문소재의 공간적 범위는 강릉단오제행사에 방문한 657명의 관광객을 중심으로 설문조사를 통해 수행되었다. 구조방정식 모형에 따른 가설검증결과 축제 스토리텔링의 선택속성이 브랜드자산에, 브랜드자산이 브랜드 태도와 애호도에, 브랜드태도가 브랜드애호도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 연구결과로부터 시사점을 제시하면 첫째, 그 지역의 맞는 풍습을 찾아 지역전문가와 주민과 함께 지역 콘텐츠문화를 개발해야 한다. 둘째, 스토리텔링의 선택속성을 살려 고유성의 전략이 우선시 될 수 있는 브랜드자산을 높여야 한다. 셋째, 축제인력으로서 전문가와 비전문가의 역할을 구분하여 지역주민들에게 공개적인 참여를 통해 단계적인 발전을 이루어 내야 한다.

고객참여 제품개발이 기업 가치에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Customer Co-development on Firm Value)

  • 기업의 신제품 개발과정에서 고객참여는 중요한 전략적 역할을 한다. 본 연구는 고객참여를 고객공동개발 (customer co-development) 과 계약개발 (contract development) 로 구분하고, 고객참여 발표가 기업 가치에 미치는 영향을 이벤트 연구를 통해 분석한다. 바이오 및 제약 산업에 대한 분석을 통해, 본 연구는 계약개발 대비 고객공동 개발이 기업 가치에 미치는 영향은 기업 및 관계 변수에 의해 조절됨을 밝힌다. 특히, 본 연구는 연구개발 협력경험이 많을 때 또는 지분투자를 동반할 때, 고객공동개발이 계약개발에 비해 기업 가치에 양의 영향을 미침을 보여준다.

'지역균형 발전과'과 '참여'의 의미 (An Essay on the Balanced Regional Development and the Implications of Participation)

  • 지역균형발전이 노무현정부에 의하여 당면한 국가적 의제로 부활되고 있다. 지역 균형 정책은 보다 발전 기회의 형평성을 확보한다는 의미로 정당화되어 왔다. 그러나 공간적 균형과 노무현정부의 '참여 민주주의'가 가진 내재적 연관이 보다 검토되어야 할 것이다. 참여 민주주의는 신사회운동이 주장하는 대안적 발전을 달성하는 중요한 수단으로 평가되었다. 그러나 교통과 인터넷과 같은 전자 통신수단의 발전은 공간적 집중, 특히 권위적 자원의 집중을 강화한다. 이러한 집중은 이데올로기적 정치적 의사결정에 지방의 참여를 배제하는 경향이다. 따라서 참여 민주주의 실현을 위한 지역균형 발전 정책은 신수도 건설과 같은 행정기관 분산으로는 부족하다. 상징적 행위와 관련되는 부문의 지방 배치 및 중점 육성이 매우 중요하다. 문화 산업, 교육 등이 그 예가 될 수 있다.

건강증진이 기반한 주요 원칙과 가치: 오타와 헌장 및 세계보건기구 관련 문헌 등을 중심으로 (The principles and values of health promotion: building upon the Ottawa charter and related WHO documents)

  • Objectives: This paper reviews the main principles and values underlying health promotion and reflects upon recent health promotion efforts in Korea. Methods: The essay approaches these issues through the framework of the Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion (WHO, 1986) and other related (WHO) documents. The Ottawa Charter has been an important basis for health promotion worldwide over the last three decades since 1986. Emphasizing the instrumental value of health and the prerequisites for health, it provides the definition of health promotion and elaborates the strategies for health promotion as well as the main health promotion actions. Results: Beyond the values of health as both a fundamental human right and a resource for everyday life, the values and principles related to health promotion shown in WHO documents and other literature include holism, social justice and equity, public and community participation, autonomy, empowerment, socioecological approaches to health, sustainability, intersectoral collaboration, partnership-building, responsibility for health, and so on. Conclusions: Reflecting, subjectively, on health promotion efforts in Korea, some values, including holism in terms of target population, equity, public and community participation, empowerment, and socio-ecological approaches have been realized to some extent, while other values like intersectoral collaboration and partnership have not been considered sincerely in public efforts relating to health promotion. Therefore, future health promotion efforts in Korea should concentrate on incorporating these critical values and principles-based approaches into health promotion activities.

일부 국가의 국민 건강증진 종합계획에 관한 고찰 (A Review on the National Health Promotion Plans in some countries)

  • Objectives: Health promotion policies have been developed and implemented in most developed countries. The purpose of this study is to compare the national health promotion plans among Korea, Japan and USA. Methods: Data were collected and involved overview of health promotion plans, formulation of policy, evaluation, monitoring and research, implementation in each countries. I got the some literatures over the governmental websites related to the health promotion. The data from each country were analyzed for comparison. Results: The goals of Healthy People 2020 are to attain high-quality, longer lives, to achieve health equity, to create social and physical environments, to promote quality of life across all life stages. Those of Healthy Japan 21 are increasing the year of healthy life and reducing health disparities. and Those of Health Plan 2020 are prolonging of healthy age and improvement of healthy equity. The number of topic areas and objectives of health promotion in each countries were different. Healthy People 2020 lacks participation of community people and stakeholders in the process of planning, impletation, evaluation. Conclusion: The planning models of health promotion were different among countries. But they reflect the social determinants of health. The health plan goals of Korea were similar to Japan. but were different from USA. The implementation and evaluation systems of USA and Japan were systematic and performed well than those of Korea.

FDI Spillover Effects on the Productivity of the Indian Pharmaceutical Industry: Panel Data Evidence

  • The study empirically examines the horizontal spillover effects of foreign direct investment (FDI) on the productivity of Indian pharmaceutical firms. Robust least squares and the Generalized Method of Moments estimators are applied for the firm-level panel data of Indian pharmaceutical companies whose shares were traded on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). The information was collected from the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) Prowess database from 2015 to 2019. Based on the regularity in data availability, the sample firms are limited to 112 companies, 100 of which are domestic firms and 12 international firms. Firms with more than 10 percent foreign equity are classified as FDI firms, while those with less than that are classified as domestic firms. Estimation results show that foreign ownership does not contribute to the productivity of domestic firms. Due to increased competition, the Indian pharmaceutical companies with foreign equity participation are not more productive than local ones. Moreover, the findings reveal a negative and insignificant horizontal spillover effect from FDI on the productivity of domestic enterprises. The absence of horizontal spillovers may be attributable to foreign enterprises' ability to prevent technological outflow to competitors in the same industry.

Distribution of Brand Love on Customers' Behavioral Intention: Cases of Five-star Hotels

  • Purpose: The study focuses on the distribution of brand love on customers' behavioral intention at five-star hotels in Vietnam. Furthermore, the study also assesses the role of mediating variables and moderating variable involved in the research model. Research design, data and methodology This research surveys 458 customers using the services of five-star hotels in Vietnam through questionnaires on online platforms. Data cleaning and data analysis using SPSS 25.0 software combined with Smart-PLS 3.0 software were used in the research to evaluate the measurement model and structural model. Results: From the results of the structural model evaluation, it shows the positive distribution of brand love on customers' behavioral intentions towards five-star hotels in Vietnam. The mediating roles of brand engagement, brand equity, customer motivation, and the participation of the moderating variable, customer expectations, are determined by this research model. Conclusions: Based on the study results, the distribution of brand love positively affects customers' behavioral intention at five-star hotels in Vietnam, giving recommendations that have a positive impact on customer behavioral intention. In addition, the study shows the role of mediating variables as well as exploring the moderator's (customer expectations) in the distribution of relationships between customer motivation and customer behavioral intention.

양성평등 수학 학습 프로그램 개발에 관한 이론적 고찰 (Feminist Perspectives on the Development of a Gender-Neutral Mathematics Program)

  • 본 연구는 양성평등을 추구하는 수학학습 프로그램 개발 연구의 일환으로서, 수학 학습 프로그램의 구성 원리와 개발방안에 대한 논의를 제공한다. 여성학적 관점에서 볼 때, 수학에서 나타나는 성별차이는 남성지배적인 수학 문화 속에서 파생된 여성의 수학은 여성의 수학적 역량에 대한 왜곡된 이해이다. 나아가 남성지배적인 수학 문화를 수용하는 학교수학은 여성의 수학적 역량을 공정하게 평가할 수 없으며 그들의 수학적 성숙을 촉진하기에 근원적인 문제점을 가지고 있다는 비판을 받는다. 이러한 관점에서, 본 연구는 여성학적 인식론과 교수법에 기반한 양성평등 수학학습 프로그램을 개발하여 여학생의 수학 참여를 증진하고 자신의 수학적 역량을 재발견할 수 있는 학습 기회를 제공하여 수학 관련 분야에서 여성 전문 인력을 양성하고 나아가 현대 사회에서의 여성의 삶의 질적 향상 및 사회적 지위향상이라는 장기적인 목표를 추구한다.
