Soil moisture is one of the most important interests in hydrological response and the interaction between the land surface and atmosphere. Estimation of Antecedent Wetness Conditions (AWC) which is soil moisture condition prior to a rainfall in the basin should be considered for rainfall-runoff prediction. In this study, Soil Wetness Index (SWI), Antecedent Precipitation Index ($API_5$), remotely sensed Soil Moisture ($SM_{rs}$), and 5 days ground Soil Moisture ($SM_{g5}$) were selected to estimate the AWC at four study area in the Korean Peninsula. The remotely sensed soil moisture data were taken from the AMSR-E soil moisture archive. The maximum potential retention ($S_{obs}$) was obtained from direct runoff and rainfall using Soil Conservation Service-Curve Number (SCS-CN) method by rainfall data of 2011 for each study area. Results showed the great correlations between the maximum potential retention and SWI with a mean correlation coefficient which is equal to -0.73. The results of time length representing the time scale of soil moisture showed a gap from region to region. It was due to the differences of soil types and the characteristics of study area. Since the remotely sensed soil moisture has been proved as reasonable hydrological variables to predict a wetness in the basin, it should be continuously monitored.
Regardless of the size, the role and meaning of the space required for human daily life are the same. Especially, as the spatial design is small and the size is small, the careful design and problem solving are needed to enable comfortable and convenient life even in a narrow space. The purpose of this study is to design a convergence model that utilizes the advantages of BIM, which can simulate actual design based on a new one-person housing space design plan optimized for one person. This study applied the BIM design technology to one-person housing 2D design, and the suitability examination and the space optimization design of the interior design were carried out. As a result of the study, utility of space improvement, consideration of housing environment, interference check, application of eco-friendly housing system, and MEP design item were derived. Therefore, BIM space design in interior space has been confirmed as a way to overcome limit and inefficiency of 2D design which is applied to actual space by various space design elements. Based on the results of this study, the One-person housing space model, which is applied to the study, is a pure creation designed based on various one-person housing of social and cultural peculiarities derived from previous research. This design example was applied to BIM technology to confirm the detailed and practical design possibility.
Since the first 12 ones were designated in 1969, 228 places have been designated as tourism sites, and about 70 percent of them were designated before the 2000s. It shows that changes in most of tourism sites are needed in terms of physical, functional and environmental aspects. However, there are still not enough academic progress and policy consideration regarding the decline of tourism sites and the regeneration of them. This study aims to find the causes of decline and the factors to activate in tourism sites, to draw important conditions to recover the attractiveness of tourism sites in decline from the comprehensive analysis of causes and factors, and to apply the conditions to a real case in severely declining stage. According to the findings, the conditions for recovery could be restructured into four categories: 'The upgrade of hardware such as facilities in tourism site', 'the development of software such as contents and programs', 'the reinforcement of local capacity and institutional grounds' and 'the expansion of functions and the building of networks with various external stakeholders such as expert groups, related enterprises, talented individuals and so forth.

The evolution of civil engineering technology, exemplified by recent milestones like the completion of the Gangnam Global Business Center (GBC), has fostered the construction of expansive civil and architectural structures both above and below the earth's surface. This surge in construction necessitates a commensurate advancement in research and technology pertaining to safety protocols applicable to these vast edifices. Such protocols encompass a spectrum of concerns, ranging from the preemptive mitigation of accidents to the effective management of exigencies such as fires. As the trajectory of construction endeavors continues unabated, encompassing both subterranean and elevated domains, a concomitant imperative emerges to refine the methodologies underpinning precise indoor positioning. To address this need, an innovative web-based simulator has been devised to emulate indoor positioning scenarios for rigorous testing. This research further entails the development of an indoor positioning data Application Programming Interface (API) fortified by Geographic Information System (GIS) spatial operation techniques. This API is anchored in the construction of intricate test data, centered on the spatial layout of building 13 at the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI). Consequently, the study renders feasible the expeditious provisioning of diverse signal-based and image-based spatial information, pivotal for enhancing the navigational acumen of mobile devices. Path delineation, cellular signal mapping, landmark identification, and ancillary navigational aids are among the manifold datasets promptly furnished by the indoor positioning data API. In summation, this study engenders a crucial leap towards the fortification of safety protocols and navigational precision within the expansive confines of modern architectural wonders.

The increased frequency of drought and flood due to climate change was a global problem. In particular, drought was recognized as a serious environmental, ecological, social, and economic disaster. Therefore, it is necessary to study the measures to prevent it. In this study, we will estimate the meteorological drought index in the Han River Basin and analyze the impact of climate change on drought. The change of the meteorological drought occurrence due to climate change in the Han River separated by the common drought and severe drought was analyzed using the Representative Concentration Pathways (RCPs) scenarios provided by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The years 1973 - 2010 were selected for analysis in the current period. Using the scenario, we separated the future period (Target I: 2011 - 2039, Target II: 2040 - 2069, Target III : 2070 - 2099). The number of occurrences of less than -1.0 and -1.5 standard precipitation index were analyzed by SPI 3, 6, 12. Looking at the results, trends in rainfall in the Han River was expected to increase from the current figures, the occurrence of drought is predicted to decline in the future. However, the number of drought occurrence was analyzed to increase toward long-term drought. The number of severe drought occurrences was usually larger than the common drought estimated. Additional studies may be considered in addition to the agricultural drought, hydrological drought, socio-economic drought. This will be done by using efficient water management. The results can be used as a basis for future drought analysis of the Han River.

Bending and axial forces simultaneously occur at the cross-section of a shotcrete lining reinforced with steel supports due to the tunnel geometry. The shotcrete has changing flexural stiffness depending on the axial forces and, as a result, severely nonlinear behavior. The mechanical properties of a shotcrete-steel composite also depend on the type of steel support. This study presents a fiber section element model considering the effect of axial force to evaluate the nonlinear behavior of a shotcrete-steel composite. Additionally, the model was used to analyze the effects of different types of steel supports on the load capacity. Furthermore, a modified hyperbolic model for ground reaction, including strain-softening, is proposed to account for the ground-lining interaction. The model was validated by comparing the numerical results with results from previous load test performed on arched shotcrete specimens. The changes in mechanical responses of the lining were also investigated. Results show a lining with doubly reinforcement rebar has similar load capacity as a lining with H-shaped supports. The use of more materials for the steel support enhances the residual resistance. For all types of steel reinforcement, the contribution of steel supports during peak load decreases as the ground becomes stiffer.

The systematic management of river is difficult due to various environmental factors such as season and terrain deformation. Especially, river terrain are rapidly changing by natural and anthropogenic factors such as torrential rain during the summer and river development projects. Thus in this conditions, building the advanced river management system is an essential condition to support the ongoing management of survey data and to acquire data regularly through river terrain survey in order to maintain an active river. The need to build an efficient system have been increased through the enhancement and advancement of River Management Geographic Information Systems(RIMGIS). In this study, database design system and Riverbed Change Data Management Program was developed for systematic management of new river terrain survey data and the efficient use of river data dynamic changes. The key features are construction of river survey data, cross and longitudinal section monitoring and analysis of riverbed change data. Maintenance tasks which can be utilized in river-based architecture was constructed. The expected results are to be able to manage river systematically, and utilization of river topographic survey data efficiently for river maintenance work.

The present study is mainly aimed at securing adequate pores which are applicable to the aquatic environment and satisfying the required strength of porous concrete as a structure by substituting pumice for crushed stone which is usually used for the fabrication of porous concrete. Accordingly, in order to deduce the optimum mixing conditions applicable to the aquatic environment, we sought to evaluate the porosity, coefficient of permeability and compressive strength of porous concrete based on the target porosity and the mixing factors for pumice. By examining the porosity and coefficient of permeability of porous concrete and the physical properties of its compressive strength based on the target porosity and the mixing factors for pumice, it is judged that the optimum mixtures for porous concrete applicable to the aquatic environment which satisfy both the necessity of securing adequate pores and the required strength for porous concrete as a structure are PC I I-10-0, PC I I-10-5 and PC I I-10-10.
The purpose of the study was to identify the potential buyers' consciousness of single-family housing to provide useful data to help future single-family housing supplies in Ulsan. The study selected residents in Ulsan, who were over twenty and had an interest in living in a single-family housing. A survey was conducted from September 11, 2008 to September 25, 2008. The sample consisted of 364 persons who are currently live in Ulsan metropolitan area. The results are as following. About two thirds of the sample had the desire to live in a single-family housing. Moving into a single-family housing had financial preparation as the greatest issue. When moving into a single-family housing, the convenience of the residential district was the greatest consideration, whether or not it is a green environment, pollution level, etc. The potential buyers valued environment-friendly features and also had a very strong desire to own their own house. Many of them wanted to design and build their own single-family housing within a budget of 100-200 million KRW. In terms of the location, there was a higher preference for the riverside or lakeside rural areas outside the city. In terms of size, the preference was less than $330m^2$, which includes $99-132m^2$ for residential. When considering a single-family housing the direction was the most important feature, along with eco-friendly and safer materials and equipments. When building the single-family housing the potential buyers considered the community spaces first with a preference for having three bedrooms and two bathrooms. For the exterior, they wanted a unique shape of roof and there were high preferences for brown and beige colors. In terms of housing complexes, the potential buyers preferred individual unit types over complexes. If they preferred housing complexes, they wanted the cluster form complex with about 10-30 units. The complex also required a park-like setting with a guard system, which shows that convenience and safety were the most important features. In terms of complex management, they considered environmental management as the most important feature. The potential buyers were willing to pay belw 200,000 KRW, which showed their desire to minimize financial burdens.
