음식물 쓰레기에 관한 STS 모듈의 적용 효과 (Application Effects of STS Module Concerning Food Waste)

  • This study is intended to examine an effectiveness of STS module concerning food waste, 'Even if food waste is the money, would you throw it away', in the areas of affective domains related to science and attitudes towards environmental problems. For this study, one group of 142 seventh graders attending 'L' middle school in Iksan city, Jeonrabukdo received 8 class hours with this module. Their affective domains related to science and attitudes towards environmental problems were measured by pre- and post-test design in a single group. In addition, their views on STS instruction was also analyzed. Results are as follows. Students in the transition period who had been taught with this module showed that they had a statistically significant effectiveness in interests related to science, scientific attitudes and execution towards environmental problems(p<.05). Students taught with this module had a positive views on the STS instructional methods or contents. It was also shown that their recognition or behavior towards environmental problems have been changed positively.

물에 관한 고등학생들의 환경 과학적 소양과 태도 (High School Students' Environmental Science Literacy for Water and Attitudes toward Environment)

  • 연구의 목적은 고등학생들의 물 문제와 관련한 환경과학적 소양과 태도를 이해하기 위한 것이다. 2010년 1학기 동안 서울시 소재 공립 국제고등학교 남 녀 학생 123명을 대상으로 물에 관한 환경과학적 소양과 태도에 관하여 연구하였다. '물에 관한 환경과학적 소양검사'(ESLW)와 '개정 친환경적 태도검사' (Revised NEP scale)를 사용하였으며, 검사 결과는 기술분석과 내용분석을 하였다. 연구대상 고등학생들은 물 자원 보존의 필요성을 인식시키는 것이 중요하다고 하였으나, 자신들의 실제적인 물 사용 태도와는 거리가 있었다, 또한, 이들은 물의 상태변화에서 비가시적인 현상이나 수계 사이의 물질변환에 대한 과학적 이해에 어려움을 겪었으나, 상당한 수준의 친환경적인 태도를 나타내었다. 이러한 결과에 기초하여 연구자들은 물 환경과 관련한 과학적 이해, 물 문제에 관한 환경과학적 지식과 실제적인 경험 및 친환경적 태도간의 차이를 좁힐 필요가 있다는 점을 발견하였으며, 이는 물 부족문제와 수질환경, 그리고 수자원 보존과 관리에 관한 과학적 이해를 위한 좀 더 통합적이고 간학문적인 과학교육과정의 필요성을 시사한다.

청소년의 환경 의식과 태도에 관한 국제 비교 연구 - 한국과 호주를 중심으로 - (An International Study of Environmental Knoledge and Attitudes of Young People - Korea and Australia -)

  • We handed out questionaires to some high school students in order to find out the Environmental Consciousness, Knowledge, Values, and Attitudes of young people in Korea. The difference in such things of high school students between Korea and Australia was analyzed by comparison with aech other. It is revealed that the Environmental Knowledge of high school students in Korea is valued significantly high degree in most cases from this study. It is, however, not due to their Environment-Friendly Attitudes and besides the Environmental Terms are hardly understood to most of them. The Environmental concerns of young people in Korea and their view on the importance of Environment, which are not in accordance with those of young people in Australia on most issues, must have been mainly affected by differences in society, economy, education, and cultural background between the two countries.

관광객의 환경의식이 생태관광태도에 미치는 영향 (The Relationship between Tourist태s Environment Consciousness and Ecotourism Attitude)

  • Regarding to the ecotourism for environmental conservation, tourists's consciousness and attitude on environment should be dealt with importantly more than the mass tourism. The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of the tourist's environmental consciousness on the ecotourism attitudes. As a result, it was analysed that the more people had interested in environmental problems, positive activities in the environment, the more people had the ecotourism attitudes. This suggested that for development of the ecotourism, it were needed to change tourist's attitude to friendly environment, to make higher consciousness about environmental conservation.

통합교과적 체험 환경교육 프로그램이 초등학생의 환경태도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Field-Experience Learning Activites Program for the Integrated Textbook on the Environmental Attitude of Elementary School Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze elementary school students' attitudes through field-experience teaming activities program for the integrated textbook on the environment issues. This study was conducted after implementing the field environmental education for fifth graders with the teaching-teaming plan applied to the field education and was based on the analysis of environment-related education for the fifth graders. A total of 64 elementary students, 32 in the experimental group and 342 in the control group, were involved in this study. The study used the instrument consisting of 36 Likert-type questions on attitudes toward environment. After going over the influences of the field environmental education program on the students, we found out the positive development in the pre-test and post-test, concerning all environmental themes, especially in the field of protection of animals, environmental pollution, and environment in general.

광고를 활용한 환경교육이 유아의 환경친화적 태도 및 환경보전 지식에 미치는 효과 (A Study on the Effect of Environmental Education Using the Advertisement on Children's Eco-Friendly Attitude and Environmental Preservation Knowledge)

  • This study was to develop environmental education activities using advertisement as well as investigate the effect of environmental education using advertisements on children's eco-friendly attitudes and environmental preservation knowledge. The effect of the environmental education activity using advisements was examined based on 24 children aged five attending a daycare center located in Incheon metropolitan city (12 in the experimental group and 12 in the control group). This study was executed 12 times (twice a week) in both the experimental group and comparative group as the environmental education using advertisements was developed and executed in the experimental group as environmental education according to the life theme's in the Nuri curriculum of the comparative group. The instruments used in this study were the children's eco-friendly attitude scale (two factors, 18 items) and environmental preservation knowledge scale (four factors, 16 items). Children's eco-friendly attitude and environmental preservation knowledge were assessed by pre-tests and post-tests using the SPSS ver. 18.0 program. Results indicated that after 6 weeks application, the experimental group exhibited higher scores than the control group in the children's eco-friendly attitude as well as environmental preservation knowledge. This study showed that environmental education activities using advertisement had a positive effect on children's eco-friendly attitudes and environmental preservation knowledge.

숲체험을 통한 환경오염예방교육이 유아의 자연친화적 태도 및 과학적 문제해결력에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Education for Environmental Pollution Prevention through Forest Experiences on Children's Nature-Friendly Attitudes and Scientific Problem Solving Ability)

  • 본 연구는 숲체험을 통한 환경오염예방교육 활동이 유아의 자연친화적 태도와 과학적 문제해결력에 미치는 효과를 알아보는데 목적을 갖고 C농촌 소도시에 소재한 어린이집 만5세반 원아를 대상으로 실험집단 22명(남 12명, 여 10명)과 비교집단 22명(남 13명, 여 9명)으로 총 44명을 대상으로 실험조사 하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 집단별 유아의 자연친화적 태도의 변화를 분석한 결과 본 연구에서 적용한 숲체험을 통한 환경오염예방교육이 유아의 자연친화적 태도 향상에 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 집단별 유아의 과학적 문제해결력의 변화를 분석한 결과 본 연구에서 적용한 숲체험을 통한 환경오염예방교육이 유아의 전체 과학적 문제해결력 향상에 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 유아의 숲체험활동이 유아의 자연친화적 태도 향상과 과학적 문제해결력을 향상시키는데 유용한 교육적 활동임을 시사한 것이다.

기후변화 프로젝트 학습이 초등학생의 기후변화에 대한 인식 및 태도, 환경소양에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Climate Change Project Learning on Elementary School Students' Perceptions and Attitudes Toward Climate Change and Environmental Literacy)

  • 본 연구에서는 기후변화와 프로젝트 수업이 초등학생의 기후변화에 대한 인식 및 태도, 환경소양에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보았다. 이를 위하여 광역시 소재의 초등학교 6학년 학생 174명(남학생 77명, 여학생 97명)의 학생을 대상으로 12차시 분량의 기후변화 프로젝트 수업을 실시한 후 학생들의 기후변화에 대한 인식 및 태도, 환경소양 수준의 변화를 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 기후변화 프로젝트 수업은 초등학생의 기후변화에 대한 인식 및 태도에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 프로젝트 학습 과정에서 기후변화 문제와 관련하여 서로 조사한 내용을 공유하고 소통하면서 학생들의 기후변화에 대한 인식 및 태도가 함양된 것으로 판단된다. 또한 기후변화 프로젝트 수업은 초등학생의 환경소양에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 구체적으로 환경태도 및 가치, 환경 친화적 행동 영역에서는 긍정적인 변화가 관찰되었지만 환경감수성 영역에서는 유의한 변화가 나타나지 않았다. 본 연구는 과학 및 환경 관련 교육학 분야에서 강조되고 있는 기후변화 문제를 소재로 한 기후변화 프로젝트 수업의 교육적 효과를 논의하고 시사점을 제안했다는 점에서 의미가 있다.

중학교 "환경" 교과의 교수.학습 및 평가 방법 연구 (A Study on Teaching-Learning and Evaluation Methods of Environmental Studies in the Middle School)

  • This study was performed to determine appropriate teaching-learning and evaluation methods for Environmental Studies. To promote the relevance of our study to the needs of the schools and concerned educational communities of environmental education, we reviewed related literature, conducted questionnaire surveys, interviewed related teachers and administrator, held meetings with experts, and field-tested our findings. For selecting and developing teaching-learning methods of Environmental Studies, findings of educational research in general are considered. moreover, principles of environmental education, general aim of environmental education, orientations of environmental education, and developmental stages of middle school students in educational psychology were attended. In addition, relevance to the purpose of the Environmental Studies curriculum, appropriateness for value inquiry as well as knowledge inquiry, small group centered class organization, social interaction centered teaching-learning process, regional environmental situation, significance of personal environment, evaluation methods of Environmental Studies, multi- and inter-disciplinary contents of the Environmental Studies textbook, suitability to the evaluation methods of Environmental Studies, and emphasis on the social interaction in teaching-learning process were regarded. It was learned the Environmental Studies can be taught most effectively in via of holding discussion sessions, conducting actual investigation, doing experiment-practice, doing games and plate, role-playing and carrying out simulation activities, and doing inquiry. These teaching-learning methods were field-tested and proved appropriate methods for the subject. For selecting and developing evaluation method of Environmental Studies, such principles and characteristics of Environmental Studies as objective domains stated in the Environmental Studies curriculum, diversity of teaching-learning organization, were appreciated. We categorized nine evaluation methods: the teacher may conduct questionnaire surveys, testings, interviews, non-participatory observations; they may evaluate student's experiment-practice performances, reports preparation ability, ability to establish a research project, the teacher may ask the students to conduct a self-evaluation, or reciprocal evaluation. To maximize the effect of these methods, we further developed an application system. It considered three variables, that is, evaluates, evaluation objectives domains, and evaluation agent, and showed how to choose the most appropriate methods and, when necessary, how to combine uses of different methods depending on these variables. A sample evaluation instrument made on the basis of this application system was developed and tested in the classes. The system proved effective. Pilot applications of the teaching-learning methods and evaluation method were made simultaneously; and the results and their implications are as follows. Discussion program was applied in a lesson dealing with the problems of waste disposal, in which students showed active participation and creative thinking. The evaluation method used in this lesson was a multiple-choice written test for knowledge and skills. It was shown that this evaluation method and device are effective in helping students' revision of the lesson and in stimulating their creative interpretations and responces. Pupils showed great interests in the actual investigation program, and this programme was proved to be effective in enhancing students' participation. However, it was also turned out that there must be pre-arranged plans for the objects, contents and procedures of survey if this program is to effective. In this lesson, non-participatory observation methods were used with a focus on the attitudes of students. A scaled reported in general description rather than in grade. Experiment-practice programme was adopted in a lesson for purifying contaminated water and in this lesson, instruction objectives were properly established, the teaching-learning process was clearly specified and students were highly motivated. On the other hand, however, it was difficult to control the class when some groups of students require more times to complete their experiment, and sometimes different results. As regards to evaluation, performance observation test were used for assessing skills and attitudes. If teachers use well-prepared Likert scale, evaluation of all groups within a reasonablely short period of time will be possible. The most effective and successful programme in therms of students' participation and enjoyment, was the 'ah-nah-bah-dah-market' program, which is kind of game of the flea market. For better organized program of this kind, however, are essential, In this program, students appraise their own attitudes and behavior by responding to a written questionnaire. In addition, students were asked to record any anecdotes relating to self-appraisal of changes on one's own attitudes and behaviours. Even after the lesson, students keep recording those changes on letters to herself. Role-playing and simulation game programme was applied to a case of 'NIMBY', in which students should decide where to located a refuse dumping ground. For this kind of programme to e successful, concepts and words used in the script should be appropriate for students' intellectual levels, and students should by adequately introduced into the objective and the procedures of the lessons. Written questionnaire was used to assess individual students' attitudes after the lesson, but in order to acquire information on the changes of students' attitudes and skills, pre-test may have to be made. Doing inquiry programme, in which advantages in which students actually investigated the environmental influence of the areas where school os located, had advantages in developing students' ability to study the environmental problems and to present the results of their studies. For this programme to be more efficient, areas of investigation should be clearly divided and alloted to each group so that repetition or overlap in areas of study and presentation be avoided, and complementary wok between groups bee enhanced. In this programme, teacher assessed students' knowledge and attitudes on the basis of reports prepared by each group. However, there were found some difficults in assessing students' attitudes and behaviours solely on the grounds of written report. Perhaps, using a scaled checklist assessing students' attitudes while their presentation could help to relieve the difficulties.

한국 대학생들의 환경보호 행위 결정요인에 관한 연구 (Environmental Attitudes of Korean College Students)

  • This study focused on examining the relationship between the components of the environmental attitudes and intentions among Korean college students, and identifying the important factors in determining the behaviors for protecting the environment based on the framework of Fishbein and Ajzen's theory of reasoned action. This study suggests that the formation of an intention for environmental protection is the consequences resulting from both an individual belief and a social pressure. Another finding from this study is that behavioral beliefs with high valuable evaluations of the outcomes can directly produce a high intention for environmental protection independent from the mediation of positive attitude. Socio-demographic variables had no significant influence on the environmental attitudes and intentions among korean college students.
