  • Modern NC machine tools require a more and more exact monitoring and control of cutting process. A very important parameter is tool wear used to optimize cutting data and to change tools at the right time. In this study, a real-time multi-tool fracture method is proposed for measuring crater from fringe patterns generated by uni-shadow-moire. An optical technique using laser for non-contact measurement of tool fracture is presented. The technology in which the tool is illuminated by a beam of He-Ne laser and then the image of tool fracture CCD camera.

  • This paper aimes to clarify the effects of tool geometry on the tool life in machining of STS 304. The main conclusions obtained were as follows. The lift of TiN coated cermet tool was the longest, exhibiting shorter life in the order of P2O, cermet, TiCN coated carbide and TiAIN coated carbide tools. S-type tool showed the best performance of all tools used in this tests due to preventing the boundary wear of the side cutting edge.

  • This paper presents an useful technique for assessing the volumetric error in multi_axis machine tools using the kinematic double ball bar and 3 dimensional spherical contouring. The developed system proposes the 3 dimensional spherical contour for the error analysis.   • Generally, queueing networks, networks, chains and simulation techniques are among the most widely used evaluation tools to study computer systems, manufacturing systems etc. But, these tools have some assumptions and difficulties. So, this thesis presents a method for manufacturing system using Petri nets. Petri nets are a graphical and mathmatical modeling tool and are promising tool for describing and studying systems that are characterized as being concurrent asychronous, dynamic, distributed and parrallel. It designs Petri net model for processing time of manufacturing system And it applied to a job shop system composed of 8 machines and 4 different job types.

  • This study sets a goal of establishing work standard and standard time in a machine tool process consisted of high-priced NC machine tools. Firstly, the theories of work standard and standard time in the field of NC machine tools are studies. Secondly, the theories are actually applied to a manufacturing company; work standard sheets are developed and applied to a machining center haying low operation rate, and then the increase in productivity is compared. Finally, problems to be studied later in relation to work standard and standard time are presented.

  • The discomfort due to squeaks and rattles appearance inside the car has serious repercussions on consumer's opinion about acoustic quality of the vehicle and may change his economical behaviour.
